Nobody tells you that 90% of being a fic writer is telling yourself sternly that you CANNOT start a new wip until you finish one of the old ones, and then failing to write anything at all as your brain sulks like a toddler.

It’s called an avoidance tactic- today on Leo is researching unnecessary things for a story where a lot of tiny details don’t matter: I spent 10-20 minutes researching expensive wood for furniture that wasn’t oak…

I can’t wait to see Michael Mcelhatton transition from playing worst fantasy Dad (Roose Bolton) to best fantasy Dad (Tam al’Thor) in WOT.
From what little I have seen of him from the trailers/clips he seems to be just great, embodying the wisdom, gentleness, protectiveness and fierceness of Tam al’Thor and some folks who have seen some episode one clips have praised his take on the character.
Hopefully the show can get him back for later seasons and give him a major role to play when Perrin gets back to the Two Rivers….

Slow burn? No, no. You misunderstand. I write crockpot romance.

thinking about how comparatively unisolationist the mirkwood elves are to some other ones we see (e.g. lothlorien) & them just being like. the weird neighbors and sometimes coworkers of the men that live nearby. like I can't overstate how delighted I am by the idea of them just being a boring (but weird) part of everyday life. there's groups of men in lotr who've never even seen an elf, meanwhile the lake men/men of dale are presumably like "yeah I know an elf. he stole my sandwich last thursday when we were clearing that fallen log & then lied about it :/"
