Think about what you spread before you spread it

I saw someone recently accused others of having recasts sans proof and people were quick to spread it. If there is no proof. Definitive proof (there are free programs out there to detect photoshopping and shit)… Don’t reblog and spread it. You may think you are not the bad guy because you didn’t originally type the thing… But you do just as much damage to that person if it turns out a lie. Just. Fucking. Do. Not. Ask that person. Get their side.

I have been there and for so long I had to be quiet about it. It fucking hurts to think people can turn on you so quick in this hobby simply with the words of another. This is a sanctuary for most of us and the amount of stupid drama that is being spread with no other reason than to harm someone else… It is terrible. It is no longer a sanctuary. “Just don’t look at it” I have followed blogs because they post their lovely dolls. Blocked the confessions that allow negativity… But they still show when those people reblog it. Tumblr savior doesn’t work on my phone. “Stay off Tumblr” It is not just tumblr. I see this spread to FB and even IG. “Maybe just leave the community” Victim blaming is not the answer here. Do you know how isolated some people are without reaching out to the community? Some of us have no other means of contact with like minded people. No other way to make friends. No other way to get away from whatever haunts them in the real world. Some of us it is our only means of income, even. It is about time we stop trying to shut the victims out of the community. Your words do damage. Spreading misinformation, slander and hate does damage. I, for one, am sick of it. I have been in the hobby since 2005. This hobby has been my lifeline not just financially but mentally. I have met some of my truest and best friends through it and have also learned a whole hell of a lot more about humanity than through any other means. The good and bad. I was proud to not just be doing the thing I loved as a career but that I could bring such intense joy for others doing it. It all changed through rumor and slander. I was accused and attacked instead of asked what my side was. I had to turn off anon because I was told daily to kill myself by people who probably knew nothing about me other than her post. That is a serious thing to say to someone and while you may think it is a joke… It is certainly not. I had it happen again recently. I turned on anon so I could help a lot of these new people who say they are too scared to ask questions. They can ask me on anon without that fear of judgement… No. I got more threats and more of those “kill yourself” messages instead. It is not a fucking joke and it is not something you say to someone regardless of how angry you are or what you think they have done. I hear that shit enough. I don’t need others validating the things in my head. You feel so powerful and perfect when you post shit but you need to understand that without proof on what you post you could be hurting someone irreparably for no other reason than someone chose that particular name to run through the mud that day for shits and giggles. Or they simply wanted money from that person they did not earn.

I won’t even put a tl;dr on this because you need to fucking read it. Before anyone decides they want to go on anon and poke me with a stick. It is off. Don’t waste your time.

I just want to say that whether you’ve been in the community for 1 day or 10 years I respect the effort you’re putting in to your doll and I think it’s wonderful that you’ve found a creative outlet you enjoy so much.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, since I thought never in a million years would I like their giant bobble heads and lollipop bodies, but the more I think about it, the more I want one. 

I really miss sewing for playscale dolls. And while my Yosd is 1/6 she has childlike thick proportions so I can’t sew adult clothes. MSD is too big for me and non bjd’s like azones or obitsus or even barbies are just not detailed enough in the face for me to really bond with them. 

I also have a shit ton of cute sewing patterns for Blythe and there are so many cute clothes on the market for them, I’m kind of just thinking about getting a cute display dolls to model home made playscale clothing on. 

I’m still really on the fence, and I don’t want to drop 200 dollars on something I’m not sure about.
