“ is that right? ” she tugs at the rolled hem of her glove absently, the velvet-on-velvet sensation tickling her teeth familiarly. she’s seen him before, at other such events–––––sleek, elusive, quiet, but somehow still eye-catching in that cat-like way. or perhaps she’s just particularly observant. a waiter passes with a tray of champagne, horrendously expensive stuff at that, and she lifts a glass without even thinking. it’s her second––no––third (?) of the evening. ( reminder her to berate herself for that later. ) “ trodden path’s too expected for you then, is it? ”

“it’s as good as,” he adjusts the collar of his suit, tugging it higher up towards his neck to conceal the rather fresh wound underneath. it’s a little too difficult to explain to those who don’t know of his vigilante activities; and he can count those people on one hand. “let’s just say i’ve recently taken a vacation and didn’t listen to the tour guide when they told us to stay on the trodden path,” he manages a smile, a puffing laugh; something as fake as the rest of the people at this glamourous fundraising event.

life updates with julia
you have probably noticed that while I’ve been attempting to come back for awhile, I’ve been struggling to get things going again. partially, this is because I’m in a veryyyy different place in my life than I ever have been–which is wonderful and exciting, but also means my writing/rp habits are necessarily different. I am still dedicated to being semi-active here, but I recognize it may look different than it has before, and I need to adjust to that. I’m definitely going to be trying to keep up with writing partners on discord more just to check in, so please please add me if you’d like ( period drama lesbian#0802 ).
I will be keeping quite private/selective and focusing on plots that really drive me to write because, to be honest, as a dramaturgical researcher and a playwright, I do a lot of writing already, so I want my time on Elsa to be engaging and separate from my ‘work’ writing. that said, if I do follow you / send you things / like your calls, rest assured this means I am very engaged with and excited about writing with you.
finally, for those who are at all interested–I’ve officially completed my master’s degree, I’ve moved into a new flat and will be staying in the UK for at least another few years working in higher educational exchange and freelancing in theatre history/dramaturgy. also I’ve officially seen frozen ten times. the new west end anna is everything to me. and that is what you missed on glee.
