April 30, 1957:
Elvis worked on Jailhouse Rock soundtrack recordings at Radio Recorders from 10 am to 6:10 pm.
It was at this session that Elvis first met with Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller.
In the Jailhouse Rock movie, Mike Stoller had a small role as a piano player, joining Scotty Moore, Bill Black, and DJ Fontana playing the session musicians for “Vince Everett”.
“Jailhouse Rock” later went on to top the Cashbox Best Sellers list, the Billboard Pop music chart, the R&B chart, and even the Country & Western chart in the U.S., and was the first song to debut at #1 in Great Britain.
