“Hm…” The wolf softly hummed hearing Lucian speak her name, nestling her cheek into the pillow before burying her face into the plush material as the light of the sun hit her face. “Do I have to?” she softly joked with him, lifting her head to look over at Lucian.
A soft smile formed on her lips, looking from him to the coffee he had brought back to the hotel room. “You’re so sweet…~ Thank you, Lucian,” she murmured, sitting up in the bed. She then took notice to the questionable bread he bought, her brows slightly raising. “I guess we’ll have to find out, right?” she chuckled, reaching for his hand to pull him to her and give him a quick peck on the lips.
To think she would be in Paris with an elite agent of Umbrella Corp, an enemy of S.T.A.Rs., and be in a relationship with him. If someone were to have told her that she would be dating him after their mission in New York, she would have laughed it off and not think much of it. She was actually happy that it turned out that way. Lucian, to her, was like one of those candies that were hard on the outside but soft and sweet on the inside. Or like a Sourpatch Kid, first they’re sour then they’re sweet kind of ordeal.
He defiantly knew how to hide that of himself pretty well and it seemed that she had found it. However, she wished how the mission in New York had ended differently. She had a feeling their romantic vacation would be met with another threat thanks to that bastard Dr. Graiden but she was going to enjoy every bit of it while they had the time to themselves.
“Sleep well last night?” she softly murmured, giving him another kiss before reaching over to the night stand to pick up the coffee to take a sip from it. It was still nice and hot and the taste? He knew exactly how she liked it!
Dr. Graiden had escaped New york, it was evident in the files he left behind. A coward watching the ship he sailed sink as the city burned down and thousands of people met their end in different ways. Every so often he can smell the decay of rotting flesh as his memory returns to what they had been through. Not only through New york, but Racoon city as well. The smile the graced his lips when hers touched his was something new to him. In truth he hasn’t smiled as much in a long time. “I did.” He replies to her question. He never believed the old wives tale ‘you sleep better with someone beside you’ until now. Reaching around her he sat his own coffee down beside hers and let himself sink back into the bed with a small sigh.
It was a wonderful vacation and yet his mind slipped back to Dr. Graiden and where he could have gone. All attempts to trace him have proved to be a futile. His phone humming once again, earned another sigh from the agent as he pulled it from his pocket to find an alert from the Umbrella HQ.
AGENT L. WASHINGTON. MANDATORY SEEK AND DESTROY. LOCATION; 10 miles north of your current location. SUBJECT: LEROY GRAIDEN III. STATUS: DESTROY. PLATOON ALPHA SQUAD B IN ROUTE. ETA; 22H 16M 33S
VACATION: TERMINATED
AGENT STATUS: ACTIVATED
Sitting up he handed her his phone to read. “I’m… going to have to skip breakfast.” This was one of the many reason he did not actively seek a relationship with someone. Umbrella would always come first in his life. It was a curse… something he wasn’t able to get away from, nor did he want to. His last relationship ended only days before the Racoon City incident.
The words she spoke stuck with him. ‘There is never time for me in your life Lucian… all you care about is your job. What kind of life would I have if I was nothing more than a secondary factor to you? Do you expect me to sit around and wait for you… missed dinners, not seeing you for weeks at a time… I—I can’t do this anymore, I can’t be the second thought on your mind at the end of the day… I’m sorry.’
In the end, she became one of the turned and he did what he need to do for her. Kekipi… he wasn’t sure if she’d stay with his constant leaving and now their vacation cut short. He had another question on his mind; just what the hell was Graiden doing in Paris. The scenarios ran through his mind as he stood from the bed moving to look out the window and down the street towards the location he was given. “The Champs-Élysées …” He says… before turning to her. “Keki… come with me.” After working together so well, he knew she’d be on his six and keeping an eye on him as he would with her. His squad would be in route, but he knew he could count on her. “Somethings tells me the good doctor isn’t here for vacation… he’s in the main shopping street… it’s Times Square all over again.”

New York… or what is now left of it—what Umbrella had left of it after the bombing to contain the second break out of a viral infection at the hands of some wayward scientist—led him to something he’d never thought he’d have in his life time. Someone to care about… someone whose company he enjoyed and was more than happy when they both ended up with time off after the ordeal they had been through. It took the two of them nearly a month to survive outbreak of New York and he was able to finish his own mission in the process. The supposed scientist who released the virus wanted to prove to the military that he was able to produce what they wanted, instead it back fired on him.
Dr. Graiden tried to recreate a successful copy of the T-Virus under his own variant that would never join the ranks of those within the Umbrella files. He referred to it in his files as the ‘hope’ serum. It made no sense to Lucian, none of it did. This man ended up destroying many lives and one of the most populated areas in the United States. Yet… the only good thing to come from Graiden’s work was Lucian’s running into Keikipi. The only factor had been the fact that they played for opposite sides of the field. Lucian, one of Umbrella’s top agents and search personnel, and her a member of STARS and yet they worked so perfectly together, in more ways than one.
It was cliché, but Lucian had left her to sleep in their hotel room. He had offered to take her on a trip to Paris, far away from the states in their time granted to recoup from the carnage that was the failed New York retrieval. His mission was only 75% successful. However, there was nothing that he could do to improve the number. The experiments that ran rampant within the city limits and the mutations clashing with the virus meant his secondary target had mutated and became untraceable. In a way, he was glad for some form of normalcy, even if it meant their vacation was soon coming to an end.
Looking at the time on his phone, his screen saver had changed from the umbrella logo to a smiling face that he couldn’t get enough of. He grabbed them from coffee from a local cafe he had found their first night there—ordered hers just as she had liked it and grabbed a bagel and some kind of bread he’s never seen before. He’d worry about breakfast once he got her input on what she wanted. It was odd to say the least—not having paper work or briefings in the morning, but he was learning to separate work and his time spent with her.
Returning to their room he sat her cup on the night stand beside her before opening the curtains to allow the morning sun to fill the room with a warm glow. “Keki…” the smile evident in the way he says her name. “coffee.. if you don’t get up, we will miss breakfast.” Never had he thought he’d grow close to anyone, let alone a STARS member and yet here he was. His phone hummed quietly in his pocket, seeing the name of one of his Squad members he ignored it. “I did bring some kind of…” He wasnt sure what it was. “Bread? I think…”
