is there any one coli venue that stands out as the best one for getting food? buying food off the ah gets expensive when you're coming back from not playing for a long time and you've got 100 mouths to feed, but i also don't wanna spend extra time coliseum grinding if i can help it so i wanna be as efficient as i can. got a full team of level 25s (one fire one water and one plague to be specific) so difficulty's not much of an issue thankfully, i can go to whichever venue i feel like (usually if i'm not trying to get hibden items i'm going to the forbidden portal both because it's the last on the list and because It's Just Really Cool And I Like It but cool eldritch space venue only really helps so much with tedious grinding).

phase works really well as ancient breeds since they get a lot more dramatic spiky line breaking terts that are really good for stuff like this!

logging into my account for the first time in a long time (last time i seriously played was after aberrations were released, i heard about aethers and undertides later but i still haven't totally absorbed what their deal is yet) and body decided right as i got back into my account that i've been looking at screens for too long and gave me a headache.

so until that fades enough that i can read big chunks of text, anyone mind giving me a quick sparknotes rundown of lore stuff and other things that've been happening lately? i've taken a look at all the encyclopedia entries for the dragons i've missed since that's a bit less to process, but i've only really been able to absorb auraboas so far (and even then i haven't fully absorbed it). a big part of why i used to be so into flight rising was for the worldbuilding and lore, so i'm really interested in seeing what about the world has changed since i've been gone (as well as just having some more context for the cool dragon designs)

while i wait for that headache to go away i'm probably gonna scry some of my ungened dragons as the newer ancients and see if i find anything i think looks cool

depends on the specific vibe you’re going for!

for example, sylvia here is a light dragon, but she does kinda have more of a generic mad scientist design than anything light specific. still, she’s got some apparel that works really well as a starting point for thinking of non-lightning science stuff.

the fore/hindcallouses could add a really nice touch to an outfit, especially on something like a plague dragon

if you want the dragon to have something to read, there’s the tomes, references, and more recently the book collections

in terms of fest apparel there’s the cosmologist fieldtools, the igneous iguana/frostbreath skink, the glitterfreeze ice-trolabe, the fossil facsimile/frozen fossil, a lot of stuff if you can find it! hell,depending on the dragon you could totally try the proto wings!

the notn tools and vials also work incredibly well if you want a chemist sort of vibe

if you want something easier to get, baldwin’s got a whole bunch of stuff including stuff like lab coats. some of it is a bit more situational than others, but if you can find a way to make the cuffs/amulets/earrings work then by all means go for it!

honestly my best advice is just to go into the dressing room and just use things totally and completely wrong. rogue’s mask? use it to avoid spreading germs! white tailcoat? that’s a lab coat now! still can definitely be tricky, but the options are there and it’s also just a fun way to kill some time!

There’s… really not a lot of apparel options for non-lightning scientist dragons, is there.
