Psa from someone who studied both Sexology and Psychology about rape and triggering roleplays.
Alright, it’s nearly two am and I’m not native english so bare with me for this.
First and foremost, roleplaying rape or triggering topics does not make anyone a sickfuck or someone who condone the themes in real life.
I went to university for four years and studied sexology, which is a program offered here in Quebec, Canada. I learned many things about the human psyche as well as sexuality in general. I also have a minor in psychology and am currently studying to become an author. Because I have many interest, yes, I have spent many years in school for. And all of my programs and studies can relate to this.
Some humans are interested in taboo and triggering topics because it pushes the limits of the human psyche. Some people are interested to see what would happen if their characters would be pushed in the most extreme situations. Whether they are playing a victim or an abuser does not matter. For someone like me, who roleplay as both, I can tell you that I like, revel even in the despair of my muses when they’re victims of something. And as someone who roleplays a villain, I like to explore the darkest part of the human mind that pushes someone to the most heinous acts possible.
There is nothing sick about this. It’s in human nature to be curious and it’s actually completely healthy to explore those topics. My studies in sexology made me learn that having phantasms, however perverted they are, as long as they remain in a fantasy setting, there is nothing wrong about it. As a writer, I can also tell you that the dichotomy between author and muse is INCREDIBLE. If you roleplay a self insert, it might be different, but when you roleplay a muse that is apart from yourself, then it automatically becomes FANTASY. You wouldn’t tell the actor that roleplayed Hitler in the movie “The Fall” that he’s encouraging nazism by playing the role of the leader of them, so why would you tell an author that they’re condoning rape or triggering topics by writing them? Did you ever read an horror book? A suspense with lots of murders and crimes? What about jigsaw? Or even the human centipede? You cannot judge of the weight of a crime that happens in fiction the same way you would a crime in reality. The author knows that. The author isn’t their character. Stop associating the two and shaming people for what they want to write.
Some people wants some vanilla fluff poneys rainbows and flowers, some wants blood gore guts and vile, unfathomable things. Both are healthy outlets.Neither are sick.
As someone who studied psychology, sexology and is currently completing literature studies, I am disgusted that such things are still shamed among the roleplaying community. There are tags you all can block to not see those triggering topics, but you have no right as an author to call out someone who writes about heavy topics because you think it’s wrong. You are no professional critique neither are you a psychanalist. You are a fucking tumblr roleplayer for christ sake.
Block the tags. Shove your disgusting shaming up your ass without lube.

walkerworld was devised to satisfy people who wanted to go deeper than virtual reality.
The tales of Rick Grimes and his makeshift family forged out of survivors he’s met on his journey captured the hearts of billions. The Walking Dead was the most watched show of all time, an incredible era all on it’s own. A theme park wasn’t enough, nor was a holiday, the hysteria had been dubbed no different than the disease that affected the walkers themselves. So it seemed fitting when WALKERWORLD was announced.
WALKERWORLD isn’t your typical amusement park. Intended for rich vacationers, and die-hard fans alike, the futuristic park is looked after by it’s robotic “hosts” which fans might recognize as Rick Grimes and his son Carl, and the rest of the people of Alexandria… Or perhaps Negan and his Saviors that threaten the balance of WALKERWORLD?!
INDULGE in your desires as WALKERWORLD welcomes you to take part in LIVING the stories and changing the fates of fan favorites! Visitors can live out their fantasies through the help of the hosts of WALKERWORLD, no matter how illicit the fantasy may be, there are no consequences that will ever befall WALKERWORLD’S guests, but unfortunately for THE REST of the population, that can’t be said!
If you can dream it, do it. Upon admission to the park, you’ll have your choice to join Rick Grimes and the GOOD PEOPLE of Alexandria, or perhaps King Ezekiel and Shiva at The Kingdom… If neither of those tickle your fancy, maybe GREGORY and the Hilltop might be the best fit… Or maybe you’d like to go darker and rule with Negan and the Saviors themselves? The Sanctuary is always open…

WELCOME TO THE NEW WORLD ORDER
Four years ago, the world became divided into two halves: the dead and the living. People scattered from their homes, and began scavenging for food and safety and weapons that could be used against the undead wandering the world in attempt to satisfy their insatiable hunger. Two groups within the mess have come to be successful in their own way, until their worlds collided. It’s only been a couple of weeks since Alexandria met their new leader, but they’re already growing tired of the same old routine of finding whatever they can, only to have it ripped away from them.
Will Saviors convince the Alexandria people to switch sides? Will the members of the Alexandria Safe Zone talk those from Sanctuary into a better deal that seems more equal between the two groups? Or will the two groups end in a bloody war with no one left standing?
(Not accepting Glenn or Abraham, as we’ve decided we’re sticking with a mostly-canon lineup.)
THERE ARE RULES
No out of character drama.
This is an AU walking dead group verse. (Some character bios / back stories have been changed, be sure to read other biographies before applying.)
Even if your character is from another community in canon, you’re welcome to write them into one of the two verse-available communities. (The two are a little closer in numbers than they are in show canon, but Sanctuary still has the advantage.)
Must be 18+ ooc to join, due to mature material.
Accepting canon and original characters from all fandoms, but no one is guaranteed acceptance into the verse.
In character drama is nice, but don’t overdo it.
Cut your posts.
Duplicate face claims are only allowed if writing twins (please ask before applying for a twin spot. Getting the approval for a twin, doesn’t automatically get you into the verse.)
Verse may contain smut, alcohol, violence, blood, etc. They will be tagged, but if you are easily offended or triggered, do not join.
Track the tag (v. get up and go to war) and use it on all of your verse-related posts.
