I definitely do, Bel. I’m honestly in awe of you. And we certainly can work on it. I’ve no doubt that, with a little bit more practice, you’ll be able to make a ten-tapus!

For now, though, I believe we have some tents to pitch and some berries to gather. We won’t be able to stop at a market for a few days- not until we make up for the time lost dealing with Zuko. Not to mention, we’re still a week or so out from the Earth Kingdom.

Okay, I’m so not good at the tents, so... should I get the berries? I can totally and definitely do that. I hope my friend Bumi is still at Omashu, he was always a fun time. He could probably teach me earth bending too.

When Bel took his hand he finally caved and let his tears fall, “I know Bel” he said as his lip quivered, “But you can’t cause you know, it’s not allowed and like, I have to be claimed here or something”. He bit his lip and looked down, “I’m going to miss you so much BabyBel”

There was no way Bel was going to be able to keep her emotions in check. This was the hardest goodbye and Franco was the reason she almost decided they should stay. But that wouldn’t have been fair to any of them. Bel knew that this was one of those situations where she needed to be a little selfish. It didn’t mean she loved him any less. She dropped his hands and went in for the full hug. “I’m gonna miss you too, Franc n’ Bean. So so much. I love you and I will only be a phone call away.”

Archer sat only a little stiffly on the couch and gratefully took the bowl when she handed it to him. He mostly had the hang of holding utensils with the cast on, and it wasn’t really a hassle anymore. “Of course! I don’t think I could ever say no to that adorable face,” he teased before taking his first spoonful of his dinner. He moaned softly as he tasted it. “Definitely up to my expectations.”

Bel was watching intently as he took the first spoonful and her chest burst with pride at his compliment. “Thank you, Bwana. I’m super glad you like it!” She let him enjoy the food for a bit, only taking a few bites of her own bowl before setting it down in her lap. “The reason I’m most glad about us getting to hang out tonight is because um... me and Mistress Ainsley are gonna leave. I love the friends I’ve made here, I love you but like I’m so ready to get back out into the world, you know? I just wanted to tell you face to face cause I care about you so much.” Her hands gripped the bowl but she never once looked away from him.

Franco felt like he’d been punched in the stomach when she said those words, “Go?” He whispered as he gulped back his emotions, “You said you wouldn’t be going for a long time… But it’s ok Bel, you need to do what’s best for you right?”

Bel frowned, tears forming at the rims of her eyes. She felt horrible for going back on her word but she weighed the options and knew this was the right move for them. She took a shaky breath and nodded, moving in closer to Franco and taking his hands in hers. “I’m sorry, Franc n’ Bean. I wish I could take you with us.”

Archer gave Bel a smile when he saw her on the other side of the door. He gave her a one-armed hug since his cast would get in the way of a real hug. He was still smiling as he pulled back. “My favorite kind of food is food I don’t have to cook myself,” he teased. “But it smells good in here! I bet your beef stew is excellent.”

Bel frowned when she was reminded that Archer was wearing the cast but decided not to say anything about it, knowing this wasn’t exactly the time for her to pry like she normally did. Instead, she returned the hug and offered another smile as she ushered him inside and too the couch, disappearing only for a second to retrieve their bowls for dinner. “I really hope it lives up to your expectations.” She handed him his bowl and curled up on the couch next to him. “I’m so glad you were available to meet today. I just wanted at least one night of just like hanging out, you know?”

Bel didn’t know why she was so nervous. Perhaps it was because things with Archer had never really settled and while she respected Ainsley’s wishes when it came to him, she was still so enthralled by him and wanted nothing more than to make him a permanent fixture in her life. Even if that didn’t seem real feasible now that her and Ainsley had made their decision. The stew was on the stove and she had just finished cleaning up the apartment. At the knock, she practically ran to the door but took a moment before opening it to take a deep breath so she didn’t look like a complete spaz. “Hi, Bwana! Come in! I hope you like beef stew!” @archer-clarington
