patrakepick:
Patricia often preferred to the more rowdy gatherings compared to the stuffy ministry galas, but if there was one thing she could appreciate then it would be finding some pockets of interesting moments. “If anyone asks, I’ll be sure to purport the vodka lemonade story. Gossip spreads like wildfire at these things.” Sipping at her drink, she nodded in appreciation of the suggestion, already looking at her martini and making the mental note of trying the strawberries one for the next. “I’ll keep your suggestion in mind, thank you. Unfortunately, I’m not here with anyone interesting – hence, the drink,” Patricia motioned toward the glass, then shrugged, absentmindedly. “Don’t let me keep you from Hestia Jones or any other friends you may have here. I’m having trouble finding my people in the crowd; pitfalls of a party this size.”

He smiled when she mentioned she’d support his facade. “Tell me about it. I’m sure Rita Skeeter is out there someone, having a feeding frenzy on all the drama that’s going down and no doubt causing some herself.” He laughed lightly. He couldn’t imagine having the energy to devote himself to other people’s business when he couldn’t even deal with his own baggage. “You’re not keeping me from anyone. I’ve just spent some time with a friend and soon enough I’ll go find Hestia. But --” He sighed before continuing. “This is the first Yule without Booker and he used to be the life of the party in my eyes so, I’m taking it slow.” He sipped on his water. “Hestia is like a sister to me, so she won’t mind me being MIA for a little longer.” He nodded. “Who are you looking for? Maybe I’ve seen them? People tend to stay in the same area with crowds this big, easier to stand your ground than move through people.”

“Good for you,” Patricia stated as she waited for her own drink, leaning against the bar as she shrugged. “I would never be able to get through this thing if I was going through a ‘no-alcohol detox.’ It’s too stuffy for my tastes.” But, it was the perfect way to keep up appearances, impress others, maintain her standing. That is, until she figured out how what sort of prank she’d pull that evening. “Martini. Very boring, but it gets the job done. I would have went with a whisky but it doesn’t match my dress.” It was partially a joke, Patricia glancing once more toward the other with a raised brow. “How is your evening going so far? Hopefully far more interesting than mine.”
Tumblr media
Harrison smiled at the joke before speaking, “It’s a beautiful dress by the way.” He motioned to her outfit before taking a sip of the water. “Besides, I could just tell everyone it’s a vodka lemonade and they’d believe me right?” He understood the whole ‘not getting through the evening’ thing, that’s what all events were like before his brother’s death. Now, he didn’t care too much about all that and rather just wanted to live and remember the experiences of the event. “I’d recommend the strawberries and cream martini next time. It’s really smooth.”
“My evening is just fine thank you for asking. I’m here with a couple of friends, mainly Hestia Jones. How about yourself? Are you here with anyone interesting?”

“I’m hoping you enjoy my company that much that in the end you’re having so much fun that you are no longer faking it and are just so busy basking in the essence of my brilliant self that you suddenly start to feel better.” Offering him soft smile, Hestia instinctively began moving to the dancefloor, trying to catch Harrison’s eye to make him smile. He’d not been the same since his brother died. It was obvious why that was the case and she’d not expected anything less but it was still her duty to try and make him feel better or boost his spirits in any way she could no matter how it might go. Taking her arm away from him, Hestia spun out and took Harrison’s hand, pulling him toward her and laughing as she backed into the floor. “I can’t promise you anything, it’s simply in my nature Bagnold, I think it’s why your parents kept having me round.” She laughed as they joined together on the fooor. “The eclairs are certainly a deal.” @harrisonbagnold
Tumblr media
Harrison could do nothing but laugh at Hestia’s response. Her presence did make her smile, ever since they were children. He loved her like a sister, a silent bond between them as they had similar struggles growing up. Reluctantly he followed her and before he knew it they had begun a dance that could not be stopped as Hestia twirled onto the dance floor. He took her one hand in his and placed his other on her waist as they moved to the music. “Shouldn’t you be dancing with someone else? Are you not here with a date?” He asked casually as they moved along with the crowd around them. He watched as the room span as they moved, catching glimpses of familiar faces, one of them being Lucius who he offered a polite nod too.
He was about to ask Hestia a question when a sudden chill ran down his spine, causing him to stop dead in his tracks, Hestia’s hand slipping from his as he did so. He felt sick to his stomach and suddenly woozy. “I -- uh.” He began as he clutched his head. “I’ve got to go.” He added with a faint smile before hurrying off through the crowd towards the restrooms. || @hextias

“hi, harrison,” she replied with a smile on her face. charity absolutely thrived when she was surrounded by people. it gave her the opportunity to slip certain things into conversations and get others brains on the topics that were important. “and i might have, but you’ll have to find out like everyone else. i will say that you do clean up well,” charity observed. their first meeting had been a bit rough on both parties (and in harrison’s case, a bit rough on the exterior), but it ended well in charity’s book.
Tumblr media
He laughed to himself as she commented that he cleaned up well. “I wouldn’t be a Bagnold if I didn’t.” It was a loaded comment. He hadn’t always benefited from his mother’s wealth and in Hogwarts he’d fake it all just so people would think he was rich. It was a facade he had spent a lifetime building, there was no way he was going to let that down now. “You look as stunning yourself.” He added, throwing in a compliment always put him in someone’s good books. “Are you here with anyone? It would be great to meet some of your friends. I assume they’d have the same mindset that you do?” Harrison wanted to get involved more, and since socialising was his forte, why not meet Charity’s crowd. || @charityxburbagex

Patricia had been sipping at her drink, thus far spending a good amount of her time that night near the bar. A good way to not only socialize but bide the time until something interesting came along. When she heard a voice ask their question the redhead turned, raising a brow to find the source. “Not at all,” Patricia gave a little smile, grabbing the jug in question and sliding it on over toward the man. “Not much of a drinker?”
Tumblr media
He nodded gratefully as she passed the jug to him. “I’ve actually taken a break.” He said as he poured himself a glass. “Just a detox I’m trying.” He lied. He had decided that he needed to take a break from alcohol before it became a crutch for him. It was one of the first decisions he had made as he attempted to turn his life around. “How about yourself? What’s your poison?” || @patrakepick

camille-rowle:
Camille had spent most of her afternoon convincing Harrison to be her date to the Yule ball, and by date she meant her second date, of course publicly she had to go with Christiano, but privately she wanted to know that she went with both boys, not yet coming to a conclusion about which she wanted to keep long term.
She was stood on the glass balcony looking down over the dance floor when she felt strong arms wrap around her, glancing around to check if they were alone she brought him away from the edge, and away from prying eyes, and led them over to a small nook with cushions and fur throws. She curled up next to him and spoke quietly just for him “well, colour me surprised to see you here, although I do suppose you would miss me far too much if you hadn’t come.” She looked up at him with laughter in her eyes and giggled to herself like a school girl.

Harrison fell backwards onto the cushions and wrapped his arm around her. As much as he enjoyed her company, the whole secrecy about it all did make him feel a bit odd. It made him feel like he was back in high school when he had to keep kissing boys secret from the lads. Nonetheless, here he was, in a moment he did not want to spoil. “Me? Miss you? Sounds like some fake news Rita Skeeter would spread.” He smiled as he watched her giggle. He adored everything about her, from her laugh lines to her faintest freckle.
“It’s been a rough couple of months but you’ve really helped me through it.” He whispered as he lent into her personal space. “What did I do to deserve you.”

“No you can’t.” Hestia replied with a smile, her hand snaking around Harrison’s waist as she pulled him into a brief one armed hug. “You’re going to smile and you’re to enjoy this ball with me.” Looping her hand through his arm, a playful smile played on her lips as she searched the room for entertainment. “So what are we thinking first, a drink, a dance? Any other mischief.”
Tumblr media
Harrison made a face as if he had just experienced physical pain from Hestia’s words. “Fake smile and carry on? Now that’s something I could do in my sleep.” He joked. He felt odd being there and part of him hated that everyone was so jolly so quickly after Booker’s death. “Why a dance does sound lovely. And then after we can stuff our faces with chocolate eclairs. Deal?” He held his hand out for Hestia to take. “And for the love of Merlin, let me lead the dance this time?” || @hextias

Harrison hadn’t expected to bump into the woman that had knocked on his door not that long ago. Yet here she was, as stunning as ever. “Charity.” He greeted with a smile, remembering their conversation. She had managed to convince him that the petition was not the reason his brother had died and whilst Harrison was not ready to start his own petition, he was ready to at least support her in her endeavours. “Enjoying the evening so far? Any surprise riots up your sleeves?”

It wasn’t long until Harry recognised the socialite in front of him and whilst she wasn’t speaking to him directly, he couldn’t help but feel the need to say hello. “Well, you definitely look a lot dryer than the last time I saw you.” He joked.  “You look stunning tonight but I suppose that was to be expected.”

where: the lower bar, the crystal pavilion
Harrison found himself at the bar ordering a glass of water. The bartender pointed to a jug on the bar top before handing him a glass. Annoyed that he had to pour his own water he looked over to the jug. “Excuse me. Would you mind passing that along?” he asked the person who stood between him and his next drink.

Harrison found himself alone at the ball, something he really did not want to be. He instantly began to search the crowd for a friendly face, his gaze finally landing on Lucius. Getting up from his seat, he buttoned his blazer up as he began to make his way through the crowd. “Fancy seeing you here mate.” He joked and he placed a firm hand on his friends shoulder. “Uh, thanks for helping me the other day. You’re a real lad.” Harrison didn’t want to speak about it but he definitely thought thanks was due.

Harrison had lost Camille in the crowd and had decided to amble up to a more private spot. Noticing the lovely lady he had met at the All Hallows Ball, he couldn’t help but move to stand next to her. “I think you look amazing. Why conform when you can make everyone else wish they were wearing a suit?”

“Yes, I felt very confident about wearing a suit tonight before leaving my house. Yes, I am heavily considering running home and changing into a gown now that I’m faced with all these beautiful ladies. No, I don’t want to talk about it further,” she finished with a sigh, before downing the rest of her glass. “How’s your evening going?”

Harrison couldn’t believe that his friends had managed to drag him to this shit show. He was not in the mood but Hestia had demanded he showed up whilst Camille threatened to never see him again if she did not have a date to the ball. He showed up fashionably late and kept his head down, trying to ignore the glances and looks from literally every Tom, Dick and Larry. Staying away from the bar he found his way to Camille and offered a hug. “Didn’t think I’d let you have all the fun did you?”
