For the month of May, I am going to highlight and focus on some male cosers! Often times I feel like these talented men are overlooked, and it’s time that some are given the spotlight!
Below is a short interview with this cosplayer. Do feel free to use the link below for them to reach out and let them know you appreciate them! Thanks for reading!

Why Do you Cosplay?
“Not only for fun but also to relive some of my best old childhood memories by working on series others were not familiar with (anime, TV series, movies, video games, etc.).”
When you hear the words ‘Cosplay Community’ what first comes to your mind?
“A society where everyone show-and-tell their work as well as exchanging knowledge on cosplay construction.”
“Who inspires you?
“I’d say Misa On Wheels. Although I do not have any sempais, she is one of the true inspirations to us all, telling us to keep on doing what we like, no matter how many “walls” get placed to get in our way to ruining our fun.”
“Do you have any goals you wish to share?”
“Continue working on more old-school series as well as any other characters that might interest me enough to doing so, as well as learn how to use a sewing machine like others have on their cosplay work”

Why Do you Cosplay?
“Cosplay is the one and the only hobby that I have ever felt was meant for me. Ever since I was little I always loved dressing up, and have always had an ever-growing “dress-up” box, filled with all the greatest thrift finds and festive attire.
Homecoming week at school was my time to shine as I always participated in every dress up the event there ever was. I didn’t even know that cosplaying existed until sometime in 2017. Never have I ever been more excited about something.
This was something I truly knew I could fit in while still standing out. I love being able to exercise my creative side and hopefully soon have the courage to practice getting “into character”. Cosplay helps me to continue stepping out of my comfort zone, trying new things, and endless memories and adventures. I love getting to meet new people and see everyone else doing something that they love. ”
When you hear the words ‘Cosplay Community’ what first comes to your mind?
“I think of the most creative people I have ever seen or met. I love the fact that you can have 20 of the same character in a room, and each one is different.
The Cosplay Community is filled with people doing something that they love and getting together to be a bunch of awesomely fun nerds together. It’s a place that has room for everyone and anyone-all are welcome. ”
“Who inspires you?
“JESSICA NIGRI. And Kaybear. they both are hard working and very dedicated to what they do, while still remaining down to earth and goofy. My husband continues to always push me to be a better me and to try new things. He supports my cosplay adventures and me as a whole. I would also like to mention my friend Syd.
When I first started struggling with severe anxiety and depression, I really didn’t know how to handle it. I was confused, lost and pushed everyone away. I sunk down to places I never thought existed before. It has taken a lot of hard work and self-reflection to pull myself back up, but I also had the support of my wonderful husband and a few select friends. My friend Syd. I knew her briefly when we were younger and never talked to her much.
I saw that she was interested in cosplay and I went out of my way to talk to her, despite my antisocial tendencies at the time. She was so nice about answering my questions and invited me to come to my first convention with her (AMKE2017). Normally I would decline such an offer as I would have too much anxiety to do something like that and especially with someone I don’t know too well. She was so welcoming and down to earth, along with all of her friends. We clicked immediately and she continues to inspire me to do cosplay. ”
“Do you have any goals you wish to share?”
“I don’t really have goals to become famous, I really just want to meet as many unique individuals as I can and experience new adventures.
I love to help people and use my past life experiences to inspire people to keep moving forward and to learn to love themselves and to love their lives. ”

Why Do you Cosplay?
“I mostly cosplay characters from Doctor Who and Pokémon, but I cosplay from a few other fandoms as well!”
When you hear the words ‘Cosplay Community’ what first comes to your mind?
“When I hear the words ‘cosplay community’ the first thing that comes to my mind is a wide variety of people who are all passionate about certain characters and decide to put that passion into creating or putting together outfits for these characters.”
“Who inspires you?
“Two people that truly inspire me in the cosplay community, in particular, are Monika Lee and Undiesofwondy!”
“Do you have any goals you wish to share?”
“One of the goals that I’d like to achieve in cosplay is to inspire someone else to start cosplaying as well, or to make a difference in someone’s life through my work.”

  Why Do you Cosplay?
“I cosplay mostly for the fun of bringing different characters to life. I’ve always loved the idea of fantasy and dressing up; so the fact that I get to bring these characters to life means the world to me. Being involved with theater is also a huge part as well.
I cosplay for the fun of it as well as the occasional skit competition. I just love the idea of being another character for a while, from getting photos done, to the panels, to the making of the friends; everything.”
When you hear the words ‘Cosplay Community’ what first comes to your mind?
“What first comes to mind when I think of the cosplay community is the people involved. Such a fun loving group of people. What I love most about it is how quickly friends can be made through cosplay. Life long relationships can be built and I think that is wonderful.”
“Who inspires you?
“I have a lot of cosplay sempais. Everyone listed is someone I have come to know on a personal level as well. Each has Facebook and Instagram pages except for RH+. They’re only available on Instagram. Scream Queen Cosplay, LilinMira Cosplay, ZeroSins Cosplay, Kuro Shiba Cosplay, Kiba’s Cosplay, Chibi Leopard Cosplay, RH+ Cosplay, Zezzie Cosplay, Ari+Wolf Cosplay.”
“Do you have any goals you wish to share?”
“I have several goals. But the one I want to share most is the goal of wanting to stop bullying in the cosplay community. It’s sad to know how toxic this community has become over the course of several years.
This makes me cry and I want people to know that anybody can cosplay no matter who you are or what you look like. It doesn’t matter as long as you’re happy. You are the only one who needs to approve of your cosplay. So just do it. And have fun with it!”

“I cosplay because it is about having fun and expressing your own creativity. Cosplay is a form of art. Cosplay lets me embody characters I love and it also helps me meet new friends, it will be something I will always cherish.
Cosplay lets me become a character I admire and look amazing doing it. It’s being part of a wonderful community filled with amazing people, I am lucky enough to experience such wonderful events and people that I would have never been able to have met without cosplaying.
I have met some amazing people and voice actors.Everyone can Cosplay and look amazing at it. Cosplay isn’t about who has the best costume out there, Cosplay is about having fun and meeting amazing people.”

My journey through self-loathing, depression, and putting Cosplans ‘on pause’.
It’s no surprise to many of you that over the last year and a half I stopped posting the content I originally did and added a lot of new content that had nothing to do with myself personally. I basically put my cosplans ‘on pause’.   I would like to explain the burnout I experienced, the self-loathing and depression, and how I honestly almost left this hobby that I love so much. I would like for…

Why Do you Cosplay?
“I cosplay to make an audience smile. The best feeling is to see a child come up to you and stare in awe as they believe you are the real character. It really brings a smile to everyone when they see a character they love brought to life. Plus the process of creating something is very rewarding, there is always something new to learn and try out, cosplay is limitless.”
When you hear the words ‘Cosplay Community’ what first comes to your mind?
“The cosplay community is a place where everyone is welcome. We all come together from different backgrounds and life experiences to celebrate our love for cosplay and pop culture. It’s a place where people should feel safe and accepted no matter who they are.”
“Who inspires you?
“Malindachan (@malinda_chan) has been my senpai for as long as I remember. Her wigs are amazing and I constantly try to learn as much as I can from her tutorials. She inspired me to give Yami Yugi a try and without her tutorial, it would not be possible. So Malinda if you ever read this, thank you for creating amazing cosplays, you are a genius and I hope to reach close to your level someday. Please keep up the excellent work.”
Do you have any goals you wish to share?
“A lot XD. I love making armor pieces but I know it gets very expensive. If I had the funds and time I would say my goal one day is to make a Monster Hunter cosplay.”

Why Do you Cosplay?
“Cosplay changed my life for the better. I adore it and when I started 13 years ago it was a landslide into what it is now. I made friends through cosplay. I met my husband through cosplay. I met my best friend through cosplay. I love meeting new people and seeing the are work everyone puts into their costumes. I love the art of it. I love the craft of it. I love representing a character I adore.”
When you hear the words ‘Cosplay Community’ what first comes to your mind?
“Honestly? Home. That’s the first word that pops into my head. I started in this community a long time ago so the social media thing didn’t exist yet and getting people to know who you were was harder but the people who did know were like my family. It’s one of the most loving communities I’ve ever had the honor of being a part of.
“Who inspires you?
“Karmada Cosplay. Have you seen her work? It’s Amazing. And my buddy Malindachan. Both of them are just fantastic in their work. But all of my friends inspire me. I love seeing people grow from all skill levels.”
Do you have any goals you wish to share?
“I want to spread more positivity! I want to just be a happy person with a happy life. Love Life Love Cosplay! Everyone’s wonderful and I want people to know that.”

Lens Info
Brand / EOS Origin / South Korea Diameter / 14.5mm Base Curve / 8.8mm Water Content / 38% Life Span / Yearly
The water content is 38%, which is pretty average with colored contacts I have ordered and continue to order. As always I inspected the contacts inside the vials and checked the expiration date before even opening the vials. Then I let the contacts soak in fresh solution (Never put new contacts right onto your eye, and never leave them in the solution they come in!) for 24 hours before giving them a go. Here is my review for the EOS Candy Blue contact lenses from PinkyParadise!
Me without contacts. My eyes are hazel.
These contacts are SUPER comfortable to wear and have a very pretty effect in photos! They feature that black outer rim to enlarge the eyes and make them appear bigger. In proper lighting these are super pretty, and I wish I had better lighting when taking these for you all.
They do come in a script meaning I can wear these around outside of cosplay for work and such.
I can safely give these the following on my rating scale, and do encourage anyone looking for some cute blue contact lenses with an enlarging effect to check these out at PinkyParadise! My review is based on a 1-5 hearts, with 5 being best and 1 being poor.

Brand / Princess Pinky Origin / South Korea Diameter / 14.5mm Base Curve / 8.6mm Water Content / 38% Life Span / Yearly  Prescription / -0.00, plano only
I ordered these in my prescription and actually got a great deal on them with the 50% off Halloween special promo code! Originally $25.90 I got these for $12.95.
Here is my review for the Princess Pinky Galaxy Blue contact lenses from PinkyParadise!
Me without contacts. My eyes are hazel.
These contacts are non prescription, meaning if you have a script you will not be able to see while wearing these. I own a few pairs now that are non script, so if I want to see while wearing them I have to put my glasses on. For cosplay purposes I might wear these for an hour or two (tops) before changing out, and I never go anywhere without my handler because (obviously) I can’t see.
Now I don’t reccomend these to people like myself who need a script unless you were to wear glasses. I myself as I said only wear them for short periods and with my handler to help guide me around, and typically this is for a cosplay at a con and only for 1-3 hours tops.
Now let’s get down to the review portion.
These contacts are comfortable to wear and look super pretty! They feature that black outer rim to enlarge the eyes and make them appear bigger, and a faded blue with ‘stary’ gaze.
I wish these came in my script so I could wear them around on a daily basis because I seriously love the look of them, but sadly they do not and I would have to wear glasses which defeats the purpose for me.
These are a must buy if you are going for that cutesy look in blue! They hair a pair in purple as well.
I can safely give these the following on my rating scale, and do encourage anyone looking for Madara Uchiha contact lenses to check these out at PinkyParadise! My review is based on a 1-5 hearts, with 5 being best and 1 being poor.

I ordered these contact lenses for my first crossplay, Madara Uchiha! It was also my first time creating armor! Picture of me in this cosplay below!
The water content is 38%, which is pretty average with colored contacts I have ordered and continue to order. As always I inspected the contacts inside the vials and checked the expiration date before even opening the vials. I purchased these contact lenses for my Madara Uchiha (Naruto) cosplay back in 2014. I was finding a hard time finding this in prescription, as any I did find were up in the $60-90 range. So I decided to get these in non-script form and only wear them for a few hours while in cosplay at Acen 2014.
These were fun to wear! I got a lot of weirded-out looks from a few non-convention goers in my traveling from the hotel to the con, and a lot of great reactions for fans of the Naruto series when I arrived at con.
Not only were people excited at my overall costume they never found out I was a girl (which was rather fun!), and I shocked a few friends later after con when I told them the Madara was me. Needless to say crossplaying was both a fun and very unique experience for me.
I can safely give these the following on my rating scale, and do encourage anyone looking for Madara Uchiha contact lenses to check these out at PinkyParadise! My review is based on a 1-5 hearts, with 5 being best and 1 being poor.

This picture shows you how vibrant these contact lenses are. The colors is 3 toned: Black, orange, yellow. The black creates that outer ring which makes the eye look larger, and the orange fades into yellow creating the look of a wild creature. They say werewolf in the title, and I dare say they would work for that look.
These were not all that comfortable too wear even after soaking them for 24 hours in fresh solution. Like my other pair of yellow contacts these I could only wear for a short period (even if they were scripted) due to my over sensitive eyes. Because of that the comfort level suffered for this pair of contact lenses.
The overall effect for them however is astonishing! I love the colors and the creature like effect they offer.
I can safely give these the following on my rating scale, and do encourage anyone looking for vibrant creature-like colored contact lenses to check these out at PinkyParadise! My review is based on a 1-5 hearts, with 5 being best and 1 being poor.

I ordered these in my prescription and actually got a great deal on them with the 50% off Halloween special promo code! Originally $25.90 I got these for $12.95.
Here is my review for the EOS Dolly Eye Green contact lenses from PinkyParadise!
My natural eyes [hazel] pictured. I’m dead inside
These contacts are exactly what I wanted and expected with green contact lenses! The color really pops and is pleasant to look at. They are made with the black rim to help create a ‘larger looking eye’ look, and no matter the lighting these are very pretty in photos!
They do come in prescription for those like myself who can’t see well, and were comfortable to wear.
I would have worn them all that first day if I didn’t have eight other pairs of contacts to try on.
