“Nope. I just don’t get humans.” Shinsou shrugged watching the pair with mild interest. Sirens tended to be solitary creatures. Lovers were a foreign concept to his kind; they only paired when they needed to breed for the season or to release some frustration-or you know to eat, but other than that they didn’t form any sort of emotional connection that humans called love. 

“They’re fighting about…” He narrowed his eyes straining to hear, “Something about decorations.” Yeah, humans were dumb. Turning his attention back to her, he figured he’d ask her a question or two since she might have had a better idea than he ever would. “Do you understand humans?”

Being a witch, it was pretty hypocritical for her to call out humans. She technically was just a human who had magic. However, she didn’t think she was nearly as petty as some humans acted. “Decorations?” Nejire asked with a soft laugh as she looked to Shinsou. “I understand them a little. I mean, I technically am one. Just a better version of one with magic who can’t worry about decorations.” 

Of course, curiosity was her middle name and she had to ask. “Do sirens find mates or lovers?”

Bakugou was uncomfortable and rather pissed to be here. As the winner of the sport’s festival, he’d been invited to some bullshit big shot party, an invitation he’d turned down. He didn’t want to be reminded of that backhanded win. And yet, here he was, wanting nothing more than to blow up a Goddamn chandelier. See if they ever force him to go to one of these things ever again.

Eye twitching at Nejire’s words, Bakugou huffed and followed, still glowering. “This is fucking bullshit. Bunch of stiffs with sticks up their asses.”

Hiding her mouth with her hand as she giggled, she looked around the room as well. “I can’t say you’re wrong. However, you want to be a pro. It’s always helpful to make yourself open so that other pros in agencies can notice you.” She explained with a small and playful wink. “You were with Jeanist last year, right? Sure, you could always go again with him. But you have to also think of what pro would help you where you need it.”

“Ahh, of course! I’m perfectly aware.” Slipping out a little blue book, Iida flipped it open, showing a perfectly written schedule. “I always factor ‘me time’ into my daily routines, with at least one major two hours of free time a week. Yesterday, I went on a casual jog through a park. It was very refreshing.” Smiling at the thought, it took him a moment to pay attention and frown, closing the book again.

“And right now is time to study, which is why I’m questioning the point of going out.” Not that Iida wanted to doubt his upperclassman. She was one of ‘The Big Three’, after all. He just… had his doubts about the productivity of this.

Nejire actually stared at Iida in a slight state of disbelief. He went out of his way to basically schedule his own ‘me time’? After a moment of simply looking shocked, the blue haired woman had to laugh. “You can’t just work on a schedule all the time.” She explained before she went to grab the little blue book from him. 

“You think villains are going to call you a week in advance to tell you when they plan on robbing a store? Or doing something worse? No. You have to go moment to moment. You can plan some things, sure. You have to be open to flexibility though, Iida-kun!”

The witch looked to the two humans who seemed to be going back and forth in an argument. Blue eyes then went to the siren and chuckled. “Most likely. Humans tend to do that.” Nejire explained as she looked back down to the book in her lap. “Why? Is it upsetting you?”

The giggle from Nejire was obviously one that showed she had ulterior motives to speaking with Iida. “Oh, relax! You do realize you’re still a teenager right?! Shouldn’t you be enjoying some time to yourself?!” She cheerfully rambled, knowing she had a bit of trouble finding time for herself during her first internship. Iida was a good kid though and she wanted him to know that he could have time to keep himself happy outside of being a hero. “You know, if you focus too much on the hero training, you’ll wear yourself out. You need to keep your own mental health a priority.”

Nejire’s blue eyes went to Bakugo at his comment before following his gaze. The glass chandelier hanging from the ceiling was admittedly very sparkly. “That means don’t get overly angry and break it.” The older student teased him as they walked further into the building. “So none of those hand firework things.”

It’s been a hard week for me but I’m happy that I’m finally able to post something so… I hope you like it!

Sorrow | Open

It did still hurt Nejire to turn her back on all that she knew to become a villain. She no longer spoke to anyone at U.A and got rid of her old phone. Once she left her dorm, she found somewhere to go so her parents didn’t even know where she was. A horrible encounter with a pro hero was to blame. Was she really going to support it after what happened? She had almost died thanks to that hero. 

Despite it, she hadn’t fully committed. All she did was join a group of low rank criminals who robbed stores and banks. She needed an income and she didn’t have to get close to any of them. At the time, she stood with her back against one of the jewelry cases of the store the group decided to rob. There were only a couple of employees who were now tied up. Nejire simply kept an eye on them, making sure they didn’t do anything stupid. “Can you hurry up? If you take forever, a fucking student from U.A could come in and beat up you morons. You didn’t even think about how to unlock a safe.” Nejire droned, rolling her eyes as she looked to the two hostages once more.
