The Israeli occupation dropped leaflets in Al-Bureij today (Times of Gaza) that read:
"You are located in an critical battle zone. For your safety leave immediately and head to known shelters in Deir-Al-Balah" (25-12-23)
Here’s what the situation in Deir-Al-Balah has been this past week up until this morning:
Dr Ebraheem works in the Al-Aqsa Martyr’s Hospital in Deir-Al-Balah. This is what he’s got to say about the situation in Deir-Al-Balah
In a post written on his blog, Dr Ebraheem describes the situation at the hospital further:
“I saw bodies coming spewing dust as if they were a sponge dipped in ash. I saw children bleeding and sinking into a coma because heavy stones came on their weak heads. I saw people whose colors, shapes, and names changed, where at a certain moment it was not possible to know who was injured, as they said: ‘Clean his face from the dust, perhaps we might recognize him.’
They do, and discover that he is so-and-so, the kind and simple man, as he was sitting in his house because he had no other place to escape.
I saw people confused by the number of victims - because of their large number—‘How many dead did we count today? Did we miscount? I told you, in the last hour, two girls came as martyrs, two children with bleeding heads, ten young men who came without vital signs in one fell swoop at the very least, lumps of flesh (parts) in a small bag, and open heads from which the brain can be seen.’
I sat with someone who was talking to himself and asking: ‘All these injured and martyrs were like us an hour ago, they were with us.’
A little while ago they were alive (like us), so when will our turn come?”
meanwhile, we have people making excuses saying palestinians are given “ample time to evacuate”. evacuate where?! where should they go? everywhere they go there is murder, rubble, bombings and destruction. nowhere is safe. it’s all a trap!
where. should. they. go?
this is their homeland. there are not going anywhere else. ceasefire and end occupation NOW!!
CONTACT YOUR REPS AND CALL FOR CEASEFIRE AND AN END TO OCCUPATION
PROTEST!
let the world know you stand with palestine. let the world know it MUST at any cost, dismantle the state of israel and free the palestinians.
demand the rights of the palestinians. demand they be given back their land. THIS is what land back means. the palestinians must be given their land back in its entirety.
from the river to the sea, palestine must be freed.
there are no more negotiations to be made. they must be free. this has gone too far for too long. israeli aggression is intolerable and the world will no longer stand for it nor make excuses for it. this is not a war. these people are not collateral. this is a textbook case of genocide and it, and the israeli occupation forced, must be stopped.

To this day people will cry over the knowledge and works destroyed when the library of Alexandria was burned down.
And yet no tears are shed as Palestinian archives and libraries are bombed.
Saint Porphyrius Church, built in 1150 and the 3rd oldest church in the world has been bombed.
It's not an accident.
Israel aren't simply killing Palestinians, they are trying to erase that there ever were Palestinians in the first place.
Destroying their livelihoods, trying to to destroy their culture and history and pretend this land was never there's.
It's easy to deny someone's existence when there's no record of them.
Which is why it's so important to look at the atrocities and bear witness to what's happening.
But to also recognise that Palestine is more than it's suffering.
There is a living breathing culture, of art, history, literacy which all come from the Palestinians.
Traditions they've carried for centuries.
So while we mourn the dead, we shall fight for the living. Fight for the preservation of their crafts, amplify their voices as they speak on their culture.
Palestinian history and culture is alive. And no matter how much the world wants to erase that, they cannot and will not.

Thinking about what journalist Momen Alsharafi said, after having lost 21 members of his family, that he is so worried about what will happen after the war.
"The question that haunts me is what should I do then? After the war, after the work pressure ends, in my free time, what should I do? What should I work on? How do I fill my free time? It's going to be long. No brothers, no sisters, no father or mother, not even the children I used to play with, my nieces and nephews."
This is going to be the reality of tens of thousands of people in Gaza who had lost everyone. Who will they go to for comfort? Who will be there to help them through? Who will they visit on holidays?
Israeli crimes aren't just what's happening at this moment, their impact is for a lifetime. Fuck israel.

this is israel’s legacy—a state built unlawfully on colonialism and ethnic cleansing. a genocidal regime that has been brutally oppressing innocent people for almost a century. a public with no remorse nor self awareness for their actions. a people who believe their right to “exist” is bigger than the right of palestinian to live.
like sana saeed said, the israelis will be remembered for many things; but they will especially be remembered as the butchers of gaza.
a highly depraved, fascist, racist society that not only dehumanises its victims, but also dehumanises it’s own people and the religion it’s co-opted in its desire to usurp power and territory.
this will forever be your legacy. you and your supporters. mark our words. israel has fallen in the eyes of the public and no amount of propaganda is able to salvage its image now. and one day it will fall in its entirety. your hubris and apathy can only take you so far. because it has to. israel must be dismantled because it should never have been created.
for those of you who care… it’s not too late to be on the right side of history. recognise the flaws in your state. in your ideologies. in your government. nothing about this is complicated. it’s simple, really. genocide is never justifiable. taking away land from people who have been living there for centuries is not justifiable. the reward for your suffering cannot come at the expense of the suffering of another group of people. and the criticism of your state cannot be conflated with the criticism of your religion. because it isn’t your religion calling for the genocide of innocent and for ethnic cleansing. it’s your government and it’s people’s rotted and brainwashed minds. wake up and see the truth for what it is.
