after getting home from a day of filming and editing, he grabbed a shower and changed into some joggers and a hoodie. it was his go-to comfy outfit. when he heard his brother calling for him, he smiled. it seemed he had made it in time for dinner tonight while it was still hot. padding out to the dining area, he hummed as the smell hit his nose “god, it smells delicious” he commented “uh, we got anymore wine?” 

he pulled his seat out and sat down in his usual seat. he liked the tradition of them getting together at the end of the day to catch up and spend some quality time together. it was something their parents had done with them all their lives. some may say it was cheesy but, it worked for them.  “oh, of course! thank you for cookign for us.” 

Mack replied, “Thank you very much and you’re welcome, it’s honestly my pleasure.” When Ollie asked about the wine, he took a few moments to locate it before he reported, “Yeah, we got both red and white.” He started to transfer everything over to the dining area then finally brought over both the red wine as well as white. “Just might have a bit for myself too once I drink all of that,” he chuckled while he gestured to the glass full of water. “I forgot that we don’t have drinking glasses, we have drinking vases.”

He found his way back to his own usual seat and glanced over the table one more time just to make sure he’d gotten everything. “And I think we’re golden,” Mack declared while he covered up the lasagna loosely just in case either of them wanted another piece later. “Whenever you’re ready, the floor is yours. You know the drill, talking each others’ ears off is encouraged,” he continued.

( @wellcliffstarters​ ) finally recovered from a bad cold, tessa enjoyed the sun beaming down on her skin as the sound of waves lulled her to a state of bliss. she had chosen a relatively isolated spot on the beach, but that had been a couple of hours ago. she could hear the beach crowding up a bit, and well– she knew there were more people because a volleyball hit her smack on the face. “ow! oh my god–” she cried out.

Mack glanced up from his own reading when he heard someone cry out and looked over to spot the volleyball. He tossed it over to the person who had been jogging to come retrieve it, hopefully to apologize as well. They caught the ball then called out their thanks to Mack followed by an apology before they returned to the game. “Hey, you alright?” the 24 year old politely questioned as his attention turned to Tessa, concern written all over his features. “No major injuries other than potential bruising and a possible newfound fear of balls flying at your face?”

“Wouldn’t it be fun if we get to give and receive presents everyday?” Kari asked as she held on to her bottle of beer. “You’d only have to buy one present. Because if you get to receive, you can always give that other present to someone else. Am I making sense?”

“Now, that would be epic,” Mack remarked before he nodded along to confirm that Kari was making sense. “And that does sound like a pretty great system too. Although that does raise the question of what if the person who gave you the present that you traded finds out? Or would this be a perfect world type of deal where they would understand?”

“—huh? What do you mean it’s not yet Christmas?” Kari asked as she held her 6th bottle of beer. “Everyday is Christmas. Christmas lives in us. There have been studies about Christmas being everyday. You can’t contradict that. And no, I’m not drunk.” @wellcliffstarters​

“I mean, technically it’s not yet Christmas,” Mack responded before he gently raised an eyebrow yet decided not to press further. “Christmas certainly does live in us. Although I unfortunately haven’t seen the studies about Christmas being everyday. I’ll have to check them out though because they sound interesting.”

“Yo Ollie, dinner’s ready!” Mack called as he nudged the oven door up and closed with his foot once he’d removed the lasagna. He carefully set the dish on the kitchen island as he took off the oven mitts then reached to grab some silverware along with a couple of plates. “By the way, what do you want to drink with this lasagna?” he questioned while a couple of glasses joined everything else that he’d set out.

These dinners were a frequent tradition to say the least. As they started chasing their own dreams and settled into their respective chosen paths, the brothers would get to talking over whatever the meal for that particular night was. Mack filled his glass with water then started to plate everything up. “I do believe that this is a fine meal, fit for kings,” he remarked with a light laugh as he took a step back to admire his work.

Location: Hot Dog Stand, The Boardwalk Status: Open

“You’d think someone would have brought corndogs around here,” he said, looking at the hot dog stand. For some reason, he thought back to a trip to the Santa Monica Pier, something that took place when he was about thirteen and his dad had thought that a road trip to Los Angeles would be a good time. There was an old corn dog stand somewhere at Venice Beach that his father had insisted on visiting. “But I guess… people aren’t into corndogs here?”

“Yeah, ain’t that the truth,” Mack agreed before he gave a shrug as a variety of possibilities darted through his mind at top speeds. “Fans of corndogs must be the minority then. I’m personally a sucker for both, just depends on the day really,” he continued. It was the truth because whenever he was in the mood for something quick and easy, hot dogs or corndogs were among his top picks. “Anyways, maybe someday. Probably hinges on if there’s enough demand for them.”

Heidi blames what happened on her client and her client only. The asshole decided not to show up to court, apparently prioritizing who knows what else, and Heidi was trying to get a hold of the guy - mostly to yell at him for being stupid and telling him just how much this little rebellion would cost him, but on top of not showing, he was also not picking up the phone. So Heidi was focusing on the phone and being pissed and annoyed and cursing to herself and she didn’t watch where she stepped outside of the courthouse and managed to step on a bigger branch, and in a snap her heels broke and she almost stumbled head first onto the pavement. She thankfully managed to keep her balance, but she couldn’t help the loud curse leaving her lips, “Scheisse!” It was her newest heel, it was supposed to be good quality and long-lasting. And now she was standing there looking like an idiot. Great. Just great.

Mack had been walking around to get some fresh air then stopped nearby the courthouse in order to rest for a bit. As he took a sip of water, someone yelling caught his attention and the 24 year old glanced over because he was nosy as hell sometimes, sue him. He stood up when she almost stumbled then walked over as he started, “This is probably a very stupid question, but are you alright?” He motioned for Heidi to follow him to the bench he’d been sitting on as he continued, “Sorry if I’m bothering you or anything like that, just happened to overhear a good percentage of the conversation. Your side of it at least. And then I saw you almost ate the pavement, so yeah. That’s the story and I’m rambling.”

[ connor franta, cismale, he/him ] have you seen ( malakai 'mack' sparks ) hanging around? the ( 24 ) year old often hangs around ( bean there, done that ) when they’re not being an ( actor/youtuber ). i’ve been told they’re ( witty ) but ( guarded ) and when i look at them, i see ( growing up too fast, playlists for all occasions, hugs that feel like home & bright stage lights met with brighter smiles ). wellcliff wouldn’t be the same without ‘em! Blake covered everything about the Sparks family in her intro for Ollie, but you know what? I’m gonna go over it again and then launch into Mack’s own history/personality, sprinkle in some headcanons.

Malakai Thomas Sparks was the second born son of Broadway actor Xavier Sparks and silver screen/television actress Joy Sparks (neé Townsend), younger brother of Ollie by three years.

When it came to families, Mack certainly lucked out because his was incredibly loving and accepting. Even though the world wasn’t always the kindest or most open to celebration of differences, the Sparks household would always be a safe place to retreat to.

This came into play many times over the course of his life, but two standout instances were his diagnosis of Generalized Anxiety Disorder (G.A.D. for short) before he started junior high and when he came out as gay during his freshman year of high school. He thankfully received plenty of support from loved ones which was all that truly mattered to him at the time.

In reaction to the world’s cruelty however, especially during his junior high and high school years, this kid got into his fair share of fights. If anybody messed with his friends or talked shit about his family, then Mack would be quick to put a stop to it either with well-crafted verbal takedowns or with an actual physical fight. Thankfully, the scuffles were nothing serious, but they still served as a lesson to would be bullies. There would be hell to pay if you screwed with any member of Mack’s inner circle.

For the most part though, Mack’s life was peaceful and idyllic. Made the grade in school, did well in his extracurriculars, had an awesome group of friends then went home to a loving family. Plus, his acting talent was starting to shine through during his school years and he’d taken up YouTube as a way to strengthen his acting abilities while also simply goofing off on camera to hopefully make other people laugh.

As the story goes, lady fate threw a wrench in that happiness. Xavier and Joy had been en route to a movie premiere when they unfortunately got into a car accident then passed the same night. Seeing as how Ollie was 18, the elder Sparks was declared Mack’s guardian.

Eventually, a sense of normalcy returned. Mack had continued making the grade in school, but he’d closed himself off for some time. But he did eventually start hanging out with his friends again. He also rediscovered his passion for acting and revived his YouTube channel which had been dormant following a video that announced a hiatus after his parents had passed.

Fast forward to the present day. Thanks to Mack’s YouTube channel being pretty well recognized at this point, he has been offered some roles in films made by production companies that frequently worked with YouTubers interested in acting careers. He’s got his foot in the door and his star continues to climb higher, plus his channel continues to do well.

Personality wise, there are plenty of things that people notice about Mack right off the bat. His brightness, for starters. He’s quite the intelligent guy yet he’s also young and still has plenty of learning to do. But brightness also means he does the best he can to look on the bright side of situations even if it might be difficult to do so or when it seems his normally realistic nature should win out. There’s also his unwavering loyalty when it comes to his loved ones. How he’ll always leap to their defense at the drop of a hat and will always be there to either help you move in or be a shoulder to cry on after a break up. Of course, there’s also the fact that he’s quite guarded. Even members of Mack’s inner circle have dubbed him a tough nut to crack simply because he doesn’t want them worrying about him when he is of the belief they most likely have bigger fish to fry than whatever problems he’s facing. And there’s no denying his impulsive nature either, especially when it comes to protecting his loved ones or buying tickets for the hottest concert.

And that’s all I’ve got about Mack, but there is so much more to be discovered as the rp goes on! It’s currently almost five in the morning as I’m wrapping this up, so thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for reading all of this.
