about.
biggest inspirations drawn from: this ballad, maid marian by thomas love peacock, bits and pieces of various robin hood adaptations across time - basically everything except disney or ouat.
roughly early to mid twenties in most interactions.
the second child of baron robert fitzwalter, her mother died a year after she was born, taken by plague. her father’s eldest child, her half-brother peter, also died - leaving marian his only surviving heir. her father retreated from nottingham town to their country estate and lands of arlingford.
her father’s health has been deteriorating since she was fifteen, and marian has been acting as lord of the manor in all but real title since.
skilled with a bow, but more skilled with a sword - she would be counted one of the best swordsmen in the country if they bothered to count her. she’ll settle for having beaten robin in a duel.
generally regarded as the most beautiful woman in england, temperament aside.
just a little bit feral, tbh.
biggest incidents between she and the sheriff are when he has her hair shorn publicly as punishment for defying him once and then at least a year later, burning her home down, as well as accusing her of witchcraft shortly thereafter. these are all considered “late-story” in my head and might require some plotting if you want plots around them.
joins robin permanently in the forest, eschewing her titles and lands after coming to the conclusion she cannot work within a broken and breaking system.
