We are BACK. Sorta. Welcome to Episode 3 of Season 2 of Waku Puyo Translations.
Tumblr media
(I have too many pages.)
Hello, one and all, Gren here. Welcome back to Translations, a 2 month gap is finally done. Now why did that gap happen?
School. I'm in my final year of it before I go to college, and I've been focusing really hard on it recently, been studying a lot more as of late, which leaves less time to make translation posts, but normal posts tend to be just fine. I hope you understand.
We're finally back to doing one of these, I PROMISE I haven't forgotten about it at all. I've just been busy. The school year ends in June, so...maybe there'll be more posts? Who knows.
But anywho, we're back for a bit. Here's the video in question:

Intro:
Arle:
Eh? What happened to you?
Skeleton-T:
Ocha!
A dragon and some little kid appeared and kicked me outta the place.
Arle:
...What? A dragon and a kid, you sure it wasn't Kodomo Dragon?
Skeleton-T:
No, the dragon wasn't that cute.
And the kid looked like he was on an adventure rather than just riding it.
It reminded me of you two.
Arle:
Hmm... (What does that MEAN?)
What happened to the dragon?
Skeleton-T:
They went even further into the 5th floor of the PuyoPuyo Dungeon.
Arle:
Eh? There's more floors in there?
Skeleton-T:
Without 3 orbs, you can't enter there.
You're prohibited to go in there otherwise.
Arle:
Aha... I see now.
Hey, I got business with that dragon, so can I enter?
Skeleton-T:
Eh, I don't mind at all.
Arle:
Alright, thanks!
-----
Rulue Scene:
Rulue:
Oh dear, it's Arle. Seems like you've cleared this place too.
Arle:
So I guess you also cleared this place as well?
Rulue:
Of course I have! This place was such a cakewalk.
Arle:
Err...I had a pretty tough time myself.
Rulue:
Oh-hohoho! Is that so? Maybe it's because you're so pathetically frail.
One little nudge, and you're done for.
...Honestly, it's quite a miracle that someone as frail as you got through the first two dungeons.
Arle:
Thats outrageous! Why would you say that?
Rulue:
I'm not wrong. Best of luck to you, though.
Arle:
I know I'm not a fighter compared to Rulue, but...
You didn't have to go THAT far, did you...?
----
Schezo Scene:
Arle:
Oh, Schezo!
Schezo:
Hmpf, Arle...
Arle:
Hey, I cleared this place as well!
Schezo:
Uh, great job, I guess?
Arle:
...Are you sure you're happy to hear that?
Schezo:
Why should I be THAT happy to you?
Arle:
Because we're friends, right?
Schezo:
Us? Friends? What're you on about!?
Arle:
I dunno why you're so against it...you have no real friends, don't you?
Schezo:
Friends are just a waste of time, and I'm not really one to hang out with people.
Arle:
Aw, don't say that... you're lonely, aren't you?
Schezo:
You're a persistent one. Even if I could, I won't hang out with you...
Arle:
And he's gone... Schezo's a strange one, isn't he?
----
3 Orb Opening:
Arle:
Hm? What does this say...
(They who have 3 orbs, raise them to open this door.)
Arle:
Open? I have 3 orbs, should I bring them out?
(Arle raised the 3 orbs.)
Oh, yay! It opened! We can go in now!
Carbuncle:
Gugugu!
---
Dragon Boss:
Arle:
Oh, I found ya! I didn't know we went here at the same time...
Dragon:
Grrr...
Arle:
What're ya scared of? It's okay, I'm not scary.
Dragon:
Graaaa!
Arle:
Oh, he's angry... Why do I have to fight a dragon now!?
---
Dragon Defeat:
Arle:
Phew, guess I win. C'mon, let's get you home!
Dragon;
Mmmmm...
[Panotty enters the fray. Somehow.]
Panotty:
What did you do to my friend!?
Arle:
What the!?
Panotty:
I've been looking all over, but I finally found him...
You're awful for beating them up!
Dragon:
Graaaa! [Like I know how dragons sound. Imagine like. Rayquaza.]
Panotty:
What's up, buddy? It's me, remember?
Dragon:
Grrrr...
Panotty:
...Hey, listen to this!
[He starts to play the flute]
Dragon:
(ROAR) [...Fun.]
Panotty:
W-wha... Normally, the flute works at calming him down.
Arle:
...Hey, are you two really friends?
Panotty:
Eh?
Arle:
You were using your flute to control him, weren't you?
Panotty:
... ... ...
Arle:
... They didn't want to be here.
Yet you forced them here with your music. They're scared, you know.
Panotty:
B-But...But...
Arle:
If you can't friend him without the flute, then you have no business calling him your friend!
Panotty:
... ... ...
Arle:
...Come on. Let's bring Dragon back home.
Panotty:
No, not yet! Even though we just became friends... [I guess meaning the dragon.]
Arle:
Fine, I'll bring him myself.
Then again, if I was the one to separate you two, then you'd never have the chance of becoming proper friends.
Panotty:
... ... ...
Arle:
...You okay?
Panotty:
I'll bring him back. Because we're friends...
Arle:
Really? You sure you can do that?
Panotty:
Yeah, I sure can!
Dragon:
(ROAR) [In a more happy tone IG]
Arle:
Those two... I hope they become true friends!
Carbuncle;
Gu!
----
Sasori Man Scene
Sasori Man:
Hey, the dragon's back!
Arle:
Wait, it's back?
Sasori Man:
Yeah, but they're doing better, thanks to your help.
Arle:
Err... that kid ... did you see him as well?
Sasori:
Oh, Panotty? They were together, yeah.
I was shocked myself when I saw how well they got along.
Now, they're working near the gates.
Arle:
Ah...that's good to hear!
Sasori:
Rather than just thanking you, I wanna give you this.
Arle:
A VIP card? What for...?
Sasori Man:
Now you can enter Wonder Jungle.
I got stuff to do, so I'll leave ya be.
Arle:
Nice, now we can get into the new attraction!
Carbuncle:
Gu!

Arle:
Oh, You're...

Do you need something?
Arle:

Biki:

How to Use Traps: (Cont.)
Arle:
What the!? What're we doing here...?
Biki:
You know, even traps can be very powerful when put in the right hands.
For example, if you use a Scroll of Sealing, you can trap enemies where they stand.
Arle:
Oh, that's cool! I never knew that...
Biki;
...Then you may as well learn it by trying it yourself.
(She leaves and enemies spawn)
Arle:
Hey, where are you going!?
Geez, there's no way I'll be able to beat such powerful enemies!

End:
Biki:
...Congrats, you did well.
Arle:
Not really, no...
Biki:
...
Arle:
...Uhh...
Biki:
...We're done here.
Arle:
Eh?
Biki:
I said we're DONE here!
Arle:
(Why did THAT make her so upset...?)

Oh, it feels nice to do these again. Free time is the BEST. But that'll be all for now.
Adios.

So, I appear with Madou findings I forgot to give. And Yokai Watch updates.
I was supposed to show this in my last post but forgot to make a section for it, so I'm deciding to do it here, alongside other stuff.
Tumblr media
Check it, a popularity poll around the time Saturn released. (The Schezo and Witch artwork.)
It's quite literally a popularity poll. There's the usual, Arle and Schezo being top 2, Witch and Draco in top 5, Satan being 6th, that nonsense. However, as we go down the list gets more interesting. Notably, Kikimora ranked 10 over Lagnus, who ranked 11th.
A few more notable placement is Momomo outplacing Suke (15th to 19th), Skeleton-T being 14th, and 20th being Honey Bee.
Waku Puyo Stuff:
So, a pal (@kirstenonic05 ) and I decided to go through some old Waku Waku Puyo Puyo Dungeon manuals we found online, and honestly? Yielded interesting results.
Waku Puyo Translations takes a super long time. Believe me, I'm working on them.
But with that, here's some of what we found.
Tumblr media
Photo of Serilly inside one of these manuals. If you notice, there's some text next to her, so I decided to quickly run through these. The result is:
Serilly: A Rather Timid Mermaid
17 years old
210 CM (so about 6'10 in Ft.)
B: 93 W: 58 H: N/A (all in CM)
Undefined Weight, but likes round things.
A slightly naive girl with a complex due to being legless. She's paranoid that people are out to get her, but is actually lonely and wants friends.
Then after this, we have Harpy.
Tumblr media
This stuff is partly in Korean, mostly because the best quality image I could find of this (The ones we had weren't the best,) came from Puyo Chatterbox, so the Japanese text could be easier to read.
Harpy: A Self-Proclaimed "Diva"
14 years old
147 CM (About 4'8 Ft)
B: 75 W: 58 H: 79 All CM
38 KG (About 83 pounds), and likes singing.
A young girl with wings who loves to sing more than anything else. But the heavens never bestow things to one person, and she's frankly bad at it. She's so bad at it, you can complain at the top of your lungs and she won't hear you. No offense given.
And then we got Incubus.
Tumblr media
It reads as follows:
Incubus: The Invincible Narcissist
Unknown Age
181 CM (About 5'9)
71 KG (156 pounds)
B, H, and H: I don't want to tell you. (AKA. Undefined.)
Likes cute girls and himself.
A narcissistic Demon who loves any cute girls, no questions asked. Despite being confident in his looks, rumor has it that he wears makeup. According to Arle, he's a pervert like Satan and Schezo. There's really no serious men in this world.
And now, Draco.
Tumblr media
So what does her bio say? Well:
Draco: The Energetic Dragon Girl (You could add Kung Fu if wanted...?)
16 years old
162 CM (5'3-ish. Are YOU taller than Draco?)
B and W: 78, with her H being undefined.
She chose to not tell her weight, and likes beauty contests.
A high-spirited half dragon, half human girl in a Chinese dress. She's a fighter of many techniques, has a variety of special moves, and can even breathe fire. Rumor has it, she's gets stronger depending on her popularity. (Or yours.)
And finally, Witch.
Tumblr media
Ah, here we go.
Witch: The Tomboy Who Runs Her Own Path (directly doing translations gave me the tomboy of the Witch clan, which is...correct too? Your choice.)
15 years old
158 CM (5'1. Wow. She's short.)
B and H: 81 W: 58
45 KG (99 pounds)
Likes clean clothing and brooms.
A magical girl whose tone is influenced by The Drifters (a Japanese comedy band), with phrases such as "Oops!" and "That won't work!" She has a rivalry with Arle, but for some reason, she has a soft spot for Schezo. (You can also say she's very friendly to him.) She tends to be nosy.
Quick Yokai Stuff:
A while back, I posted the 3D models of the Yokai Watch collab finally being unearthed, so I decided to just quickly find some neat looking stuff.
Tumblr media
This thing.
First thing I wanna say about it: Arle is legit part of the metagame. She's unironically amazing.
Second, just some promotional artwork I found of the game. I couldn't find more stuff for Witch for some... unexplainable reason.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Thank goodness for my friend finding the last image. And also the watermark being noticeable enough.)
And honestly? That'll be all for now. Thanks for reading.
Adios.

This is me more or less posting just casually, but Madou Saturn's promotional art is so interesting.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Though I wonder. Does this say Compile Street, and if so, what is it?
And also, Y'know Otohime? Yeah, that one enemy from Madou Saturn?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Course you do. She's the Basis of Otohime Serilly in Quest. I know, insane...
And one more thing. Disc Station Volume 11. I like this.
Tumblr media
Arle's mouth is a little off IMO but the rest of the work is honestly amazing. Love what they did here.
Thanks for your time.

Rewriting this sucks, but we ball. Welcome to Episode 13 of Waku Puyo Extras.
Tumblr media
(...If you saw the post before I deleted it, no you didn't. I hate my internet.)
Heya everyone, Gren here, rewriting this for a second time because I accidently clicked post and lost everything because my internet decided to be a dickhead. Welcome to Episode 13 of this wonderful show I've made, where I discuss random Puyo things and hope they make sense to an audience. They usually do.
Today we'll be focusing on our favorite idiot out there, Ms. Draco Centauros. It's wild how she's been with us since day one and we haven't made anything for and about her. This one might seem more summarized and less "Gren's rambling again," because man. Retyping sucks.
Uploads have been scarce due to school, we're hitting the toughest parts by far, I plan to change it sometime.
Let's begin, shall we? I hope you enjoy.
Oh, and please play Persona 3 Reload. Amazing game.
----
So Who IS Draco in Puyo?
Tumblr media
I have to specify Puyo so we can mention Madou stuff later, since it's how I wanna roll this time around.
She's been with us with a personality since what, 1992? And she's had two wonderful traits.
She loves beauty contests.
And she may be stupid.
We'll come to love and hate those traits later on down the line. Believe me on that. That's how she began in Tsu, after all.
However, everything changed when it came to Puyo SUN, where something very unique happened. She's now a protagonist, and I believe the first one to do so, a massive accomplishment. She's the protagonist of the Easy Mode Course, the shortest one, but that's fine.
She finds Skeleton-T heating up tea while she basically dying of heat, and she burns the tea, making the man (skeleton?) PISSED, and a fight happens, classic Puyo. After that, Draco encounters Harpy, who collapsed on the ground due to dehydration, so Draco saves her life via a water bottle. Sadly, it results in Harpy singing, and Draco to slowly die inside because...it's Harpy's singing for God's sake.
Tumblr media
And finally, she runs into Choppun (remember that guy?) He's land surfing on a rock... before he gets properly swept away by the water, thankfully. With that, Draco tries to relax, and uh, that doesn't end well. The sun's too hot, and she goes flying, not by her free will, of course, but because sunburn does that to someone...leading to her being the first fight of Arle's story, basically in severe pain due to that.
The fact that she got a protagonist role is something to behold, and it's very interesting to know that a common Mook like her was able to secure such a spot. Later on, other side characters like Witch and Lagnus would get the role in other games (Comet Summoner, Madou Saturn, etc,) but no, Draco is the first one to do that, a very big accomplishment in of itself. Nice one Draco.
And hey, she returns in Puyo~N too, being one of the first fights in the game.
Tumblr media
(Just want an excuse to show the artstyle. MAN, it's so good.)
Here, Arle asks if she knows who stole Carbuncle, as that's basically the plot of the entire game, but Draco has reverted back into her good old "Is she stupid?" personality, assumes she's there for a beauty contest and fights her, and loses, go figure. After that, she actually joins Arle for the search for her missing Carbuncle, alongside Witch, Serilly, and Chico.
She even says Gao. It's perfect.
But after that, it kinda went all over the place. It was her last real major/semi-prevelent role for a good bit. She's there in Minna, but she doesn't exactly do a ton. She's part of a long fetch quest where mail has been messed up, and her mail got lost 3 years ago because Witch accidently got it instead, but that's really about it. And then, like everyone in Compile besides Arle, she vanishes for The Fever Era. She doesn't even appear in 15th, when Nasu Grave and Zoh Daimoh made it. But hey, jokes on them, they haven't appeared since.
But after so long, Draco makes her grand return in Puyo 7.
Tumblr media
(Wonder who you saw first in this image. For me it was Raffine.)
Here, she's in the Bermuda Triangle because Dark Arle told her that there's a beauty contest there, and she just believes it. Ringo and Amitie go there for plot reasons, and Draco assumes they're there for the same reasons as her. Sadly, they're not, and Draco has been HOODWINKED. And as we know, if you play as Amitie, Witch and Harpy make their cameo appearance, new designs as all... just to not use them ever again. Makes me sad every time.
Draco reappears in 20th Anniversary, where Witch also makes her real debut back. Harpy died sadly. She got smacked to the Land of Chronicles instead. Back to Draco, she wants to find a really cool swimsuit Arle mentioned, but it's Draco, life hates her. After a slew of mishaps and ruining people's day, she finally finds it... and finds out it's from Suketoudara. Rip.
And hey, she reappears in Chronicle, where she's just minding her own business until she gets yoinked by the book that took everyone else to Ally's world. And in Draco Fashion... she assumes Ally and crew are there for a beauty pageant and won't be usurped. Wonder how many times I've mentioned her and beauty pageants, gotta keep count sometime.
She's in Tetris 1 and uh. She tries to eat O.
And uh...she does a talent show with Witch in the DLC. That's it.
TETRIS 2 TIME
She's one of the many people who got corrupted by Marle, but had Ringo fooled for a good bit on accident, and apologized for her odd behavior. Not her fault Marle is uh... quite the character.
And in side story stuff, she's just playing around with Mini Puyos since she finds them interesting. Unfortunately, Witch also finds them interesting and makes Draco her test subject for studying Mini Puyos, saying it'd at least be a good workout for her. And since we're playing as Draco, she does just that...for science, we swear. After that, Witch notes that due to their smaller size, much higher chains and such, before Draco says she's just there for a good time, much to Witch's annoyance.
So That's Puyo. How About Madou?
Tumblr media
(One guy out there just decided to make the coolest Draco art out there. Thanks man.)
Draco began in the series like many other characters, a Mook, a random encounter, a person Arle ran into during dungeon crawling adventures, the sort. It's simple enough, it's her beginnings.
However, I won't exactly be going in chronological order for this, rather, I want to mention some things here and there as I go.
Draco began to get fairly popular due to her design and appearances in Puyo, ala Witch, so she began to make a lot of appearances in side stuff, such as Disc Station games. She appears in a few off memory:
Tower of the Magician, where she's a random encounter Schezo can fight. Here though, she has a little more personality since it's been more established.
PuyoLympics, where she makes a cameo appearance in the swimming section of the game. She's not playable, like Rulue and Schezo, but she makes an appearance.
Rulue's Spring Break of Fists, where like many other characters, she talks a lot... because it's a visual novel. She only appears in one story route, like almost every other character in the game.
Arle Man'Yuki, where she's uh. There.
Madou Saturn, where she's a playable ally, but a temporary one.
Waku Puyo Dungeon and it's manga, where in the manga, she fights against and alongside Rulue.
So let's talk about her role in Saturn first. She's been chained up alongside Witch due to Incubus being Incubus, and you're given a choice to save her or Witch first. Today, it's Draco.
Arle and Rulue save Draco, and Draco's first thing to do is go to a beauty pageant...to find out that she's late and it's already over.
Tumblr media
And it leads to this. She's gone, bros. To the point where she doesn't help fight Schezo 3 minutes later. However, after said fight, she regains her senses and enters a whole other contest since the reward is a key that opens literally anything. You know, so they can save Witch.
Unfortunately, Yog Smoke is appearing, and it's not looking so good for our heroes, but we skim some smaller details, some fights later, it's honestly quite similar to Witch's route, down to the Schezo Refight and Jaan appearance, I guess to give players similar experiences. It's honestly a very nice role Draco has at least, where she's able to kinda bounce off Arle and Rulue decently well, and she's no slouch in combat either.
After saving Witch, she does leave you, but reappears at the end of the game at the very least. And that's mostly her role, she has her own quirks and her personality, while a little one dimensional as always, still leaves room up for some unique conversations with Arle and Rulue.
And even then, her role in Waku Waku Puyo Puyo Dungeon and its manga are at least more than that, to an extent. It depends on the Route.
Tumblr media
In Arle's Route (yeah, sorry for not translating in a hot minute. School work over that, sorry.) she relies more on her stupid self and assumes Arle is there for a beauty- basically the usual. However, at the very least, she does canonically say she can make 5 chains, before realizing they her and Arle are gonna PROPERLY fight rather than Puyo battle, which is neat. And even after defeat, she just trains to become even better, which is honestly a nice change of pace.
And in Schezo's route, it relies on Schezo also being partially a Grade A dunce, since the boss dialog is him misunderstanding Draco completely about "Something," before she says it's a Battle, leaving him to feel stupid for not thinking that. And after defeat and near the end of the game, Schezo runs into her again, and he says that he's not really interested in appealing to women or anyone, leading to Draco assuming he's gay, much to his annoyance. And on another talk, Draco mentions if he was more in touch with how people feel and watched his wording, Schezo would be even more popular with the ladies, before he's shocked that he's popular in general.
Notice how I haven't spoken about Rulue yet, and it's because...I dunno how she acts there. But I do somewhat know how she acts in the manga.
Tumblr media
(This requires context. Believe me.)
Like in the game, Draco is the boss of Fire Mountain, and since Rulue and Minotauros are there...to put it bluntly, the three fight. Draco's no slouch though, as she's able to actually fight Rulue competently and WIN round one, so to speak, which is the top image of the entire post.
When knocked out, Rulue begins to dream about Arle...and Satan. The rest is history. Round two happens, and it's a real back and forth, honestly. Draco lands good hits, Rulue gets good hits, before out of nowhere, steals the Naruto Handbook and Shadow Clone Justu's, shocking Draco and ending the fight there.
It's worth noting that it appears Draco might (or definitely does,) like or even crush on Rulue herself. Since this stupid 10 image limit it kicking my ass, you can probably find many pages online of those moments. Draco even tags along in fighting... these guys, who are basically traumatized from fighting Rulue.
Tumblr media
(They're in Saturn, that's for sure.)
And as such, ends our talk about Draco. She's a very fascinating character, since she hasn't changed a whole lot throughout the decades.
She's been fairly two-note for years now, but it doesn't really stop her from being a good and fun character, especially when Compile/SEGA decide to give her a little more than "Is she stupid?" and beauty pageants.
That'd be all from me. Adios.

no offense but i genuinely question the effectiveness of a machine translation tool for *learning*, because it doesn't actually teach you anything i.e. trying to break down a sentence's words and grammar structures so you get an idea of why a sentence is constructed that way and why it might translate a certain way. i'm not sure what other resources you are using to actually Learn Japanese, but a machine translator isn't really anything. and just editing a machine translation doesn't make you a translator, it just makes you an editor for something with dubious accuracy. it just seems disrespectful to make yourself come across as a translator who people typically assume actually knows enough japanese to discuss its language without the need of a machine translator...? there's a few other conversations surrounding the use of machine translation to deliver a translation to other people instead of personal use that i can't really fit into a single message either
I'll say ahead of time that this will be the last time I speak about this, but this doesn't mean your criticism isn't valid. It's a fair claim that makes perfect sense.
It's fine to question the validity of a machine. This isn't the only source I use, though, I do try to take tutorials on how to learn Japanese and whatnot to help. Again, I'm just a teen sorta doing this in my spare time. If you don't really consider me a translator due to how I do them, I can't stop you. You're free to think what you want.
I will say that none of my works are perfect. Far from it, mistakes are made often. At the very least, they make sense to people who read them, which is my goal. If you're a proper translator (and also to translators who actually know what they're fully doing,) then I apologize for not reaching that mantle if it is disrespectful. I'm still a novice, after all.
With that, I do hope you have a nice day.

You guys voted Something Random, I love and hate you at the same time.
In that case...Y'all know about JUMP HERO? Welcome to...well, rambles about some random things.
Tumblr media
(Da Satan Plant. As of writing this I just hit 51 followers. Wow.)
Hey all, Gren here. I know its been a bit since I've properly posted, and frankly, you're not wrong at all. Life's been busy, and with the rate I'm going at (going to college and whatnot, middle of the school year shenanigans,) there's no way in hell I'll be able to keep the once-a-week posting that I've done. Maybe for summer, but I dunno yet.
Also, life's been hitting me HELLA hard recently, so motivation is also not there. If YKYK.
Which leads to an announcement that I made before: I won't exactly be posting weekly anymore. I'll just... post whenever I feel like it nowadays. Adds a lot less stress for me, and I'll be able to send dumb shit about Puyo and Madou here. Ya know, like a normal blog. You might get 3 posts in a week for all you know.
But enough on that. I'm here to ramble. This won't be a Waku Puyo Extras thing or whatever, literally just things I wanna show and explain some nonsense. There's no formula. Enjoy.
----
I've been working on this stuff since April of last year, and it's been going decently well, people partially know my works. Now, what in the world do I want to show y'all this time around, since I got free will?
Well for one, I'd you've been following my work for a bit, you'd know about the pain that was finding Madou Sugoroku content, that game was so elusive to me that I was convinced it wasn't real for a period of time.
Tumblr media
Uh, yeah. It's real. Very, very much real. And man do I love the style of the game. It's so dang pretty. I'll mention gameplay some other time, I'll cover it another time, but today's not that day.
Also. Arle's fit.
Tumblr media
It's basically Schezo's clothes but it looks so damn good. No complaints here. Though I do wonder how she got it.
I do want to mention the Pairs though. Arle/Satan is fine, Witch/Draco have been paired since like Saturn, Schezo/Incubus at least have Waku Puyo, Minotauros/Rulue is obligatory, but what the FUCK is going on with the pairing of Sasori Man/Zoh Daimoh? The fact they got two word names?
I do wish that Draco just had a little bit more than what she has currently. I love her, she's a funny person and whatnot, I just wish there was...more, you know?
Tumblr media
She's been a character I've been wanting to cover for god knows how long, it's just I've never had enough unique things to talk about with her. Lotta the stuff is things we do know, or Puyo Puyo Tetris [2] sorta just making her beauty obsessed.
Least in Waku Puyo, she has some comedic scenes, canonically being able to make 5 chains and confusing Schezo at least 3 times. And in the manga, she bounces off Rulue and Minotauros decently, her fight was fun to read.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Don't ask how Rulue learned Shadow Clone Jutsu)
And for a second, let me say that the designs in this manga are top-notch. Witch's redesign is nice, Rulue's looks really good, Draco's design is great, Schezo consistently has the best clothes, and Lagnus... somehow looks even better.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh yea, speaking of Draco, let's look at someone who sorta kinda maybe perchance looks like her but is actually from JUMP HERO.
... I'm awful with transitions. We're talking about the series. Sorta.
So, JUMP HERO. Series made by Compile, unknown to a lot of us.
Tumblr media
(Nexus image)
Frankly, I want to cover this game sometime. It seems so...interesting. The characters, the gameplay, the story, it all seems so interesting to me.
People like Billie Be Babine, Margarita Linda, (the black and red folks in the front), Sugar & Oligo, they all seem so damn cool. Oh, and that Penguin is some fella named Ivan. He has a reeeeeally long last name.
Oh and that robot guy is like 2 years old canonically. Needed to mention that.
This is Sugar and Oligo btw. They seem fun to talk about sometime.
Tumblr media
(Nexus image)
The game feels so heavily unexplored. I want to see it sometime. When? Whole other story.
But with that, I think this'll end my small ramble about nothing. Thanks for reading.
Adios.

Note
Could you not insert yourself in translation and translator conversations when all you do is machine translation? It's really disrespectful to those who spend time actually bothering to learn languages to properly translate content faithfully, especially when you've been caught wanting to a call a character you don't like a "bitch" in your "translation". MTL also can't really properly read grammatical contexts in certain languages correctly. It's really not a good look when you could be doing better by spending more time learning
Well, this wasn't exactly the thing I expected to see on Puyo Day.
You have a point to an extent. Yeah, MTL doesn't exactly...get some things right, no doubt about that. It's bound to make mistakes. Take me completely misunderstanding the Bottling mechanic. That's on me. You're also right on spending more time properly learning the language, I can see how it's disrespectful to people who are learning. I'll admit I'm wrong there.
The thing is: I'm doing this to learn as well. The info itself, while not perfectly accurate, still pertains fairly well to the game. I can admit that what I'm doing isn't perfect at all. I'm no professional, I'm a 17 year old kid who does this in his spare time. The bitch thing? Yeah its not good, but it was legimately my first time doing it, having not much clue where to begin since I was by myself. Even I admit it looks bad, lot of my early translations suck.
And even then, I don't just put it in a machine and call it a day. I do edit a lot of the lines since the machine doesn't make it make much sense, isn't grammatically right, or doesn't have the context. I'm still editing a lot of the works, trying to add characters' personalities since the thing makes it stale. The machine is flawed, but I realize that and improve on it. I'm not great at Japanese myself, so I'm learning it via this.
With the mistakes I make, I still get corrected from people who do know, and I learn from it. It's a learning experience for me. And those people don't really see my work as "disrespectful" from the times I've spoken to them. The Bottling Mechanic mess up was corrected pretty quickly since I was told by someone who does really good translations, and they didn't take offense to it, and me using a machine to help me out.
I won't be removing myself from the talks. Im doing this to learn, as well as just doing it to have fun. Nevertheless, happy Puyo Day to you.

Very quick status update:
Won't be posting on Weekends only anymore. I'll just be posting whenever I can/want, like a normal blog and such. So who knows? You'll possibly end up with 3 posts in a week.
Here, have a page manual though.
Tumblr media
That'll be all. Ciao.

You know, as Midterms start, I need YOUR help. I'm outta ideas.
Tumblr media
(Azumanga Daioh sweep)
Yea, Exams are coming the entire week so I've been fighting for my life this past month. So, as someone who's legimately running out of ideas since he's been doing this for almost a year:
Honestly up to y'all. I've been planning to make a shift and make this both informational and shitposty, as I feel like I could make it work, while posting semi-often during the challenging school year.
If you got a recommendation for a madou/puyo game/character to cover, LMK...anywhere really.
Post will be up for a week.
And since I've tagged this with Puyo, here's something Puyo related.
Tumblr media
Just because. Adios for now.

Yeah, I'm still doing this. Shocking, I know. Welcome to Season 2 of Episode 3 of Waku Puyo Translations.
Tumblr media
(...I can't explain what happened here today.)
Hey, Gren here. It's been a bit and I took a break for Christmas and New Years to spend time with family...and as of currently writing this, it's snowing outside. But during that time, a teaser was thrown out for an actual translation team working on Waku Puyo Dungeon. Shocking, IK.
This is also late because imma be real with you...I didn't save this once and the entire thing was gone. Pain.
I'm happy about this, genuinely am, but it also sorta left me in a...moral dilemma. I'm glad it's being worked on, but should I even continue, despite it not going to be as good as the actual works? It's probably just a iffy feeling I'll experience for a week or two, but eh, we'll see.
With that, here's the video I'll be translating.

Eek! You're here to bully me too!
Suketoudara:
What- no! That ain't it at all! I'm Suketoudara!

Suke:
And I'm Suketoudara! (He starts to dance, and honestly? It's either Sha or Cha IMO for Onomatopoeias.)
Arle:
W-Wha? What's with the dancing? It's so odd, please stop!
Suke:
Hey, what the!? You insulted my dancing!
I won't forgive anyone who does that!
Arle:

Arle:
... ... ...
Serilly:
Please, just leave me alone!
Arle:

Every time you interact with me or anyone else you tell them to go away, or they they'll bully you!
Serilly:
It's because it's true!
Arle:
You're driving me to my wits end! Are you going to fight or not?
Serilly:
Hey, even I get mad sometimes!
-----
Serilly Defeat: (9:00)
Suketoudara:
Hey, wait for me!
Arle:
Oh, you're...
Suketoudara:
I've had enough of this. Give her a minute.
She didn't mean any harm either. (...And then he Cha and Sha dances again..)
Serilly:
So, you're here to bully me also?
Suketoudara:
S-Serilly...you know that's not true...
Serilly:
You and everyone here, you're all here to bully me, aren't you!?
Arle:
What you're saying right now is worse than anything you've said so far!
I'm upset also, yet Suketoudara still wants to be your friend!
Serilly:
Wait...? My friend...?
Arle:
...if you keep pushing everyone away from you, then no one will want to become your friend!
Serilly:
... ... ...
Arle:
(Sounds like I was preaching. Are you going to cry from that?)
Serilly:
Um...do you hate me?
Arle:
Eh? No, not really, but...
Serilly:
Uh...I'm sorry...
[And she leaves.]
Suketoudara:
Hey, wait for me Serilly!
Arle:
Go after her! Be a good friend for her!
Suke:
Gya Gyaa! I'm out then!
[He leaves.]
Arle:
...She's a nice girl, but I feel like it'll be hard for you to be friends with her...
Carbuncle:
Gugu?
-----
And that is IT. Expect delays and sort now because school is getting significantly more challenging + midterms, but with that, that'll be all.
Adios.

Random Puyo Event #4: Are the people in Water Paradise OK? Like, seriously?
Tumblr media
(Arle's as confused as I am.)
Still currently doing translations because power went out via snowstorm, but like...is everyone ok in Water Paradise?
I'll tease a bit and say that Suketoudara is going THROUGH it in Arle's route, sad as all hell that Arle doesn't like his dancing and Serilly doesn't talk to him.
Huge case of miscommunication.
Tumblr media
(Yeah, poor guy.)
And then in Schezo's route, the man's giving therapy to Serilly. And the manga continues with it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like Serilly explains how Satan is her only friend (because of manipulation in Schezo's words,) up until then and because of everything, she feels like she has to stay in Water Paradise FOREVER for the man, leading to Schezo basically saying "Nuh uh" professionally, before some deliberation, says he'll be her friend.
Like every other place is fairly goofy and then they keep hitting us SPECIFICALLY at Water Paradise with these issues.
Wild, innit?

For ONCE I cover a game with Madou Monogatari mechanics. Welcome to Episode 12 of (Waku) Puyo Extras.
Tumblr media
(No Waku Puyo Manga page for you today. You get this instead, a photo for a calendar. Oddly, Suke is there despite not really being in the game.)
Hello everyone, it's the guy who likes talking about how silly Witch and Schezo are together, back at it again making (Waku) Puyo Extras. Wild to think that the art shown above was for a calendar. Wish SEGA did that more often. This was a little late because I've been focusing on school a little more, that and I wanted this to be really good, so my apologies.
This time around, the 12th go-around, I'll be covering... an actual Madou Monogatari game. It's taken us this many episodes to talk about one in full, but here we are guys. An actual episode about it.
And it's the really popular one too compared to every other game I've covered, besides maybe Serilly's Happy Birthday. That's right, we're covering Madou Monogatari: Tower of the Magician. AKA, the game that everyone knows stars Schezo and Witch.
Honestly, I've been wanting to cover this game for a long while, but I wanted to get better at translating before I covered it, and well, it's been enough time, I think. I wanna give this game justice, ya know?
But enough of that. Let's get into this, shall we? Hope you enjoy.
-----
So, What're the Origins/Characters?
Thankfully, because of how popular this game is compared to other Disc Station games, dates are a lot clearer for me. The release date of the game varies, but for Japan, it was released on September 6, 1997, for Windows 95, and a Korean version was released on September 20 of the same year.
Tumblr media
(The cover of this game.)
The reason why this game exists... is a pretty interesting one to be honest. Compile held a popularity contest to see who the most popular characters were at the time, and the winners of that poll was Schezo and Witch. I mean Schezo is basically universally loved by the fanbase of Puyo at the time, and still sorta is, but Witch? I mean, I'm happy for her, but still, fascinating. Because they won, they got their own games.
As such, the game was put into development. The most notable part for me was the redesign for the characters, more specifically the main duo's design, and honestly? I rock with these designs so hard, these look amazing. The artstyle they went for is also just really pleasing to look at.
Tumblr media
(I just wanna let people know I searched for 20 minutes for this image.)
As well, due to...well, I guess luck to be honest, we now also have some old artwork of what they were going to look like, along with Wish, Witch's grandmother... Oh, and Dark Matter, too.
Tumblr media
(Also, the borders of the pages look great. Least IMO.)
Actually, about the characters, in this game, they're honestly really good.
For example:
Schezo is shown to have morals, and despite not exactly caring much about Witch at the start, to at least being kind enough to give back her magic after the final boss when she willingly gives it to him. He even accompanies Witch during the final floor and gives her the credit of beating Dark Matter when it was him, PLUS declining to take Wish's magic...though mostly because Dark Matter took most of it. It's a cool side of him.
Witch herself is honestly quite charming. She attacks Schezo first because she assumes he's an illusion, but realizes "Oh wait. That IS Schezo." and run into each other occasionally, though it's mostly banter and talking about Wish. When there's no jokes though, she's also shown to really care for her grandmother, Wish, as she brazenly rushes to her when Wish is collapsed before Schezo fights Dark Matter, and after the final boss.
Wish herself isn't given too much character but we do know that she was (and somewhat still is,) pretty dang powerful, and is at least shown to care for Witch, despite making her fail the test she was given due to outside help. Oddly enough, when Wish realizes that Schezo is there for her power and asks for it, she doesn't really protest at all, hoping it makes him stronger, confusing him and opting to leave so when she's back to her real strength, they'll have a fair fight.
Dark Matter...I mean he's fine, I guess. He wants revenge, which is fair enough. He did get beat by a 16 year old girl...though that's common in Madou.
...We don't talk about Gay the Whale. They're just...let's just say bad representation.
Tumblr media
(Ah, the only story relevant characters...who's Dark Matter?)
-----
What's the Gameplay?
A first in Extras, it's literally Madou Monogatari gameplay. No wacky gimmicks, different gameplay, etc. We get... a pretty definitive Madou experience.
Madou Gameplay is thankfully straightforward enough. You're given options for attacks, using items, running away, the classic JRPG stuff.
Tumblr media
(Yeah, Witch isn't actually playable. I'll explain later, but wow does she look really sad.)
It has it all. Random encounters, floor placements, treasure, the list goes on. It's probably the most refined gameplay for the franchise if I have to be honest. Plus, it looks pretty. That's half the battle.
Something to note is that this is an adventure with Schezo and later Tenori Zoh, Witch is of course, important to the story, but she's more of a roaming sidekick. She often appears because you came around at a good time and she needs help with something... which is so in-character for her, that or you two just run into each other. I will say though, the animations of this game are really good.
----
How About The Story?
The game starts off with Schezo reading a book from a library about a story made about 50 years before the game begins, with Wish, Witch's grandmother, defeating Dark Matter, unfortunately not the Kirby one, but some random other geezer, when she was just 16 years old, and the tower she rests at isn't too far away, so Schezo goes into said tower to get Wish's powers.
Tumblr media
(So at the very least, she's about 66. Not exactly, but at least there. She doesn't look 66, that's for sure.)
Unfortunately for him, life isn't so easy. During his quest, he runs into Witch, who thinks he's an illusion created by Wish, and they fight. Since he's the protag of this game, she loses, but realizes that he's the real deal, and explains why she's here; To complete her trial that Wish gave her to become a real witch...but she can't stand being at the tower. She also jokingly mentions to not say "I want you," to Wish, her grandmother, or else Schezo will look even more like a pervert.
After that scuffle and a bit later, Schezo runs into Incubus...doing Incubus things, such as but not limited to:
Being a loser
So they fight, leading to Schezo's victory. His victory spoils are actually solid for once, as Incubus had Tenori Zoh, and Schezo just takes the little fella and goes on with his day. I like Tenori Zoh, t.hey're a little guy and that's all they sorta need to be.
As the story progresses, Schezo does run into Witch sometimes, usually just trying to solve a puzzle and him just so happening to help her out, with puzzles and the sort, and wondering if Wish is alright herself, considering that this trial has been kinda tough.
However, those claims are slowly getting more scary as both Schezo and Witch climb up the tower, as near the top, they find a broken wall.
Tumblr media
(Now ain't this unusual?)
Witch (very obviously) starts getting concerned if her grandmother is alright, and Schezo... I mean he tries to calm her down, and it somewhat works before they reach the final floor. At that point, they're working together... and it only took the entire game.
After a bit, and on the final floor, Witch rushes to Wish, who's sorta on the ground. Is she dead? Nah, but something's up, since when you rush to get to her, she's all beaten up and such.
Tumblr media
(Wow. Who knew the stakes could actually be high for once.)
SURPRISE, it's that guy Wish beat 50 years ago, Dark Matter. With the energy she does have left, Witch gives it to Schezo to fight...and he does indeed fight, because he squares up against Dark Matter and wins, which is kinda cool when you think about it.
That's just Round 1 though, as after defeat, Dark Matter decides to possess Wish to control her, leading to the REAL final battle.
...I like the music for it. More on that later.
Tumblr media
(Honestly speaking, this fight is so cool. Though saying your final boss is a literal grandmother is kinda funny.)
After that whole... Debacle, Dark Matter is defeated for real, and Wish once again collapses, and after Schezo returns Witch's powers, she rushes right towards her grandmother. Thankfully, she's alright, and when she wakes up, Schezo says that Witch was the one who defeated Dark Matter, not him. He even decides against getting Wish's magic, even though that was his plan from the get-go, even when Wish said that she wouldn't protest to it. Though with everything...Wish says that Witch got outside help for the test, and thus, she doesn't exactly pass.
Thus concludes the story of this game. For once, it's small enough to fully cover. I frankly love this story mostly due to the fact that, not only does it show sides of Schezo and Witch we don't see often, but also takes itself seriously at the end, which is a surprise for Madou standards.
-----
Well...Uh, How's the Music?
Simply put, stellar. I usually just say "Listen to them on your spare time," but today, for once, I'll link some songs.

-----
So, Final Verdict?
...If it wasn't obvious enough, I really like this game. It's really good. Honestly, if you ever get the chance to play the game, I'd say try it...if you can find a guide on it. But other than that, I'd say try it.
Though that'll be all for me.
Adios, and if I don't post again, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Ah, another 2 parter. Welcome to Part 2 of Episode 2 of Season 2 of Waku Puyo Translations.
Tumblr media
(That's a lot of 2's.)
Hello everyone, it's the guy with Kempf calling Olwen a stupid bitch banner here, back at it again with translating a funny video game. Ain't that fun? Sorry for the delay, with tests going on, a super big assignment, and of course, English class, I haven't had too much time to finish these. Also I've had an illness for the past 5 days and that's been kicking my ass. Hope you understand.
As stated prior, this is Part 2 of Episode 2, because Arle's route has so much text from the information booth that its super hard to put all of this stuff in a very timely manner, thus making two parts. Thankfully, a delay still means this gets released, just in a weird time. With it, I bring this part.
Here's the link to the video:
youtube
Timestamps:
Sasori Midboss: (10:39, defeat at 13:00.)
Info Stuff Again: (13:25 through 15:15, with extra Momomo stuff)
Draco Boss: (17:28, defeat at 21:08)
Draco Revisit: (23:17)
Finally, this episode will be done. And with this, I hope you enjoy.
Major Edit:
First off, I want to thank Eudae for this. They told me about this and I frankly wanna thank them for it. Here's their Nexus page for their info:
I messed up a key gameplay mechanic. With the major mistake, the mechanic is NOT called pinning, but storing an item inside of a bottle, Ala a fairy from Zelda. The effect I explained is still the same, where inside the bottle, the item doesn't wear down, but the correction had to be made.
Second, Weathering as a name. I took the name literally, which I shouldn't have. In reality, gameplay mechanics wise, it's more like an item wearing down, ala...Zelda again. The effect is still the same, but the names itself are wrong.
Third and more minor, the item for bottling up items is actually called the "Bottling Wand" or an overly long "Put-it-in-a-jar Wand" rather than a pinning stick. Fixes have been made, and once again, thanks Eudae.
Sasori Midboss:
Arle:
Huh? You're...
Sasori Man:
How are you? I'm Sasori Man.
Sometimes I'm a mysterious mogul, other times I'm the informant working behind the scenes, and sometimes I'm the deadliest assassin of them all...
Arle:
???
Sasori Man:
Well, I'm busy with stuff, so shall we get right into it?
Arle:
What? I'm fighting you now? Alright then, I won't lose!
---
Defeat: (13:00)
Sasori Man:
You're a good one, you win.
I'm going back. Goodbye.
Arle:
He's gone. Let's go too, Carby!
Carbuncle:
Gu!
----
Info Booth Again:
(So with this, back to menu nonsense. The player clicks Bulletin and the order goes:

Momomo Store Reopening <- 2
Fire Mountain
Water Paradise

Pinning Recommendation <- 1)
"Bottling" Recommendation:
Sasori Man:
How are you doing today?
Arle:
Oh, Heya. What can you tell me?
Sasori Man;
Well, you see, I have a lot of work to do.
So let's get right into explaining.
Arle:
O-ok...
Sasori Man:
Arle, do you know why food rots?
Arle:
I believe if an enemy attacks it, or a trap.
Sasori Man:
Yes, that's right.
If you eat rotten food, you'll have a horrible stomach ache, so be careful.
Arle:
Alright then.
Sasori Man:
Along with rotting, another issue is the item wearing down.
Arle:
The item wearing down...? Oh, the thing that makes items worse.
Sasori Man:
Yes. For example, a Medical Herb becomes an Ordinary Herb, and Medicine jusg becomes Water. That's what I mean by wearing down.
Arle:
The effects of the item dissappear too...that's rough...
Sasori Man:
Whether it rots or wears out, eating spoiled food is incredibly painful.
Arle:
Yeah, it sure sounds like it.
Sasori Man:
...Well, I have wonderful news for you!
Arle:
Aren't you really excited all of a sudden-
Sasori Man;
There's a way to prevent such problems.
Arle:
What? You're serious!?
Sasori Man:
They call it "Bottle-clogging." (For now, I'll keep this name based off the info given.)
Food and other items can be kept safe with the bottle...with no worries at all!
The bottle protects the item from incoming attacks!
Arle:
Wow, that's amazing...
Sasori Man:
You can also bottle up items like herbs and the sort.
Of course, even when bottled up, the item can still be used normally.
Arle:
So how many items can I bottle up?
Sasori Man:
All you have to use is an item called the "Bottling Wand".
They're dropped in dungeons occasionally, so you'll find one if you're lucky.
Arle:
A bottling wand... alright, so I CAN protect my items!
---
Momomo Store Reopening:
Bulletin Board:
The numbers of items in Momomo's store and gone up a bit. So come on in and buy even more stuff.
(You can then find him in Fire Mountain...but the player just sells items when he says welcome.)
-----
Draco Boss: (17:28)
Arle:
Oh, you were at the entrance...
Draco:
Ah, you've finally arrived!
...Hm? Do you have a Grimoire?
Arle:
Grimoire? I don't have one.
Draco:
Well...guess I have no other choice then.
If you want to clear this room, you're going to have to get through me!
Arle:
What? What is this, a beauty pageant or something?
Draco:
Hmpf...I thought you'd never be able to match my beauty...
...Wait, no! Not here... (As in, this ain't the place for this nonsense.)
Arle:
So are we going to play Puyo Puyo then?
Draco:
Hehehe, I can make 5 chains...
...No! This is a proper fight!
(In defeat, she just says Gao 3 times.)
----
Draco Revisit:
Draco:
Gao!
Arle:
It's you again...
Draco:
I have to say, you're much stronger than you look.
Arle:
Huh? I do?
Draco:
I need to train myself, so I'm here to get even better!
Arle:
Eh? Is this place good for training like that anyways?
Draco:
Hm? I mean, you can always enter the attraction again, but it'd be hard to get out of it.
Oh, and I see that you have red orb, take good care of that.
If you forgot to ever grab an orb, don't worry, they'll still be on the 10th floor.
Arle:
Alright...thanks.
Draco:
Alright then, cya.
Arle:
Yeah, bye!
-----
And with that, Episode 2 is properly done. Hopefully the 3rd one isn't as long.
Next time I'm here I'll most likely be doing an Extras episode. But with that...
Adios.

Random Update #3:
Decided to quickly check out the Super Madou Monogatari novel despite not knowing what's giving on.
I mean it looks cool when you get art for the pages.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These all came from Volume 2 of the novel, which I read on Archive.org. All IK is that there's Satan's brother, the ARS Trio work together for once, and it's loosely off Waku Waku Puyo Puyo Dungeon, since the image with Witch was when she was in the Horror House vs Schezo.
Also, through that, I stumbled upon these.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
About 4 random pages of Disc Station talking about Serilly's Happy Birthday, along with artwork for the characters I haven't seen. I'd like to assume they're from different magazines.
Its...pretty fascinating. I take no real credit for finding this stuff, anyways. It's just me posting it here.
Translations will be late because of school unfortunately, taking 3 English classes was not my best move, but they'll be released next week at the very least.
That'll be all for now. Just wanted to throw this out here.

I think we're back to being consistent for a bit. Welcome to Part 1 of Episode 2 of Waku Puyo Translations.
Tumblr media
(I'll run out of cool pages eventually. Also, Schezo always seems to be connotated with flowers from my knowledge. Wonder why.)
Hello everyone, it's the funny man who does translations, and after so long...my computer is finally working as intended. Extras can take a break, for the main series is FINALLY back to business...even if this is a two, possibly three parter. This is a tiny bit late because I slept early on the weekends, but we're still alive.
I swear it won't always be like this
I'll start with the big announcement:
I have a teammate now.
Good pal of mines @kirstenonic05 will be doing things related to shop menus and the sort. So for the time being, I'll be skipping shop menus and leaving it to her. She's currently making I believe a Google spreadsheet of a TON of the items you can find in the game, including many I've missed, so...when it releases, check it out. Might help someone's run. I'll still be translating key items though, don't worry.
The plan is to finish this episode fully, drop an Extras episode, and call it a year. If something else happens...wahoo.
Anywho, here's the video itself.

With this, enjoy.

Grimoire stuff:
Bulletin Board:
I've found a Grimoire and I have it on me. Let me know when you want it.
When you have a Grimoire, if you can memorize it, you can learn its magic.
But if someone who can't use the powers reads it, they won't learn the spell, and the Grimoire vanishes.
It'd be a waste of treasure if that happened. Might as well sell it.
Please don't throw it away because you can't use it.
- From: A certain genius witch. (Thanks Witch.)

Trap Warnings:
Kikimora:
Hello there! I'll explain traps for you.
Arle:
Alright, I was gonna ask you for a favor anyways.
Kikimora:
Alright then.
Traps are so annoying, you can't see them until you get hit by them, it's frustrating.
Arle:
Yeah, You're right.
Kikimora:
As for me, I prefer to clean them.
Arle:
Clean?
Kikimora:
That's right.
And with all the traps...All of items AND the magic circles will be clean and fresh!
Arle:
Eh? Even the items? I really hope you don't do that.
Kikimora:
Oh...I got off topic.
But really, if you can raise the level of the traps, they're not too scary.
Arle:
Level of traps?
Kikimora:
If you have the trapping ability, whenever you're caught in one, or miss one,
You can gain experience, and with that, you can get better at avoiding them.
Arle:
Trapping ability? I don't have that....
Kikimora:
What? You don't have the ability to remove traps?
Arle:
N-no...
Kikimora:
In order to remove traps, you need thr ability to see them.
Let me guide you to a special room.
----
Trap Ability (1:58-5:20)
Arle:
Wow, this is a big room...
Kikimora:
Welcome to the training room! It's a big room, and looks normal, but,
A number of traps are set up to obstruct your path until you reach the exit.
But if you make it out, I'll happily give you the trap ability.
Arle:
Really? Is that so? Then I'll do my best!
Kikimora:
Would you like some tips on how to clear this?
(They say yes)
To know the location of the the traps, you must find "The Scroll of Light."
Arle:
Yeah...but what if I don't find it?
Kikimora:
...Then you have no choice but to fall right into the traps.
Arle:
Oh, is that so...
Kikimora:
(Well, if you can fly...)
Arle:
What was that? I can't hear you!
Kikimora:
No, it's nothing.
Arle:
Hey! You better give me a better answer!
Kikimora:
Oh well...if you're in danger of getting caught in a trap...
Don't be stingy with your recovery items. Use them.
There's a few items in here that may be of good use.
Arle:
Huh...
Kikimora:
Now then, please do your best.
---
Trap Ability Completion:
Kikimora:
Congratulations! Now, I'll give you the ability to see traps.
(Arle has gained the trap ability.)
Arle:
...Am I finally going to be able to remove traps now?
Kikimora:
Yes.
...But without experience, I'm afraid you're still going to run into them.
Arle:
Aw, really? Guess I gotta practice a lot.
---
Fufufu Info: (5:45)
Fufufu:
Fufufu, I'm glad you're here.
Arle:
You're going to tell me about Identification?
Fufufu:
Fufufu, the items you see in the attractions are a mystery.
You really don't know what they're called or what they do.
Arle:
Yeah, I guess so.
I can tell if it's an item or food, but not what it does.
Fufufu:
Fufufu, in that case, you identify.
You lose MP though. But you know what the item is at least.
But if it's rare, you use more MP, so be careful.
Arle:
Alright, I see...
MP is important, but using an unknown item...isn't exactly safe.
Fufufu: (from here on I legit forget if he says fufufu or nah, so...I won't be adding it.)
In that case, you identify it.
If you identify, you do lose MP, but if you don't, you can't use the item.
Arle:
Hmm... is there a better way?
Fufufu:
Actually, if you do Identification, you gain some experience.
The more you identify, the more EXP you'll get, and it increases your identification level.
So with a higher level, you're more likely to find rarer items.
Arle:
Huh...
Fufufu:
If your Identification level is too low, it'll be hard to identify.
So failing to identify costs more MP, and by then, you'll be out of it.
Arle:
Hmm...By the way, how do you know your Identification level?
Fufufu:
You can check it in "Special Abilties", at the Status menu.
Arle:
I see...thank you! I'll try to identify items often.
Fufufu:
Fufufu, I wish you luck.
-----
"Have You Been To": (7:15)
There'll look weird so bear with me.
Bulletin Board:
Have you been to the Starlight Stage yet?
The attraction is filled with enemies who control sound and lightning, along with traps.
If you're not good with loud sounds, proceed with caution.
---
Have you been to Water Paradise yet?
The attraction has enemies that can control the water and the cold, along with traps.
If you don't like being wet or cold, proceed with caution.
---
Have you been to Fire Mountain yet?
The attraction holds fire-controlling enemies and traps.
If you dislike the heat, proceed with caution.
-----
Draco Appearance: (8:02)
Draco:
(I can't translate it well but she's literally breathing fire.)
Arle:
You! What're you doing!?
It's dangerous to just blow flames here! Watch where you're doing!
Draco:
Gao! You can't go through here!
Arle:
Why are you so rude to me!?
Draco:
I can't let anyone in without a ticket.
Arle:
If it's tickets-- I have them!
Draco:
Really? No way!
Arle:
What? But I have the ticket?
Draco:
Ugh, you're persistent! I can't let you in without a ticket...
Arle:
You're the persistent one! I've been telling you that I do have tickets!
Draco:
Eh? You sure?
Arle:
It's what I've been saying. I have tickets, here!
Draco:
You know, you could've said it from the start!
Arle:
I HAVE!
Draco:
I know, can't help myself sometimes. You can enter.
Arle:
I'm tired...
Carbuncle:
Gu!
----
And with that, Part 1 is finally done. It's nice to be back to the groove of this. With this, that'll be all for now.
Adios.
