I don't think goyim understand how the memory of Yisrael works and I don't think they feel understand or realize the ramifications that their responses to Simchat Torah pogrom has.
The collective memory of our people is a long one and we do not forget. We hold onto all that happens. The good and the bad, the beautiful and the ugly, the joyful and the sorrowful.
It is not a matter of grudges or slights, but a matter of the importance of history, memory, and learning.
So we do not forget, but a time will come, soon, where goyim will forget how they responded to Simchat Torah pogrom and in turn expect us to forget as well.
But we won't because we don't and so they will surprised. Just as they always expect us to forget and are always surprised when we have not.
We carry long memories. We do it for those amongst who can not, for those who are no longer with us, and we do for the future generations.
So many of us have pulled away and/or back from places and people because we no longer feel safe and many of us will not return even those places and people forget.
What we have seen and heard has deeply scarred us and added more scarring and trauma to scars and trauma we already carry.
Trust that is so easily broken is not so easily restored and that trust is gone.
There are many ramifications to what happened on Oct 7, 2023 and we will see those ripple out for long time even when we are the only who remember.

I am very lucky that my campus isn’t this bad yet BH, but every day I am terrified that it will be soon. I have already been seeing colleagues and students share violent antisemitic rhetoric on social media, on posters all over campus, downtown: there are very few places I feel safe anymore. Honestly, I am very seriously considering leaving my PhD program bc I fear there is no longer a place for Jewish scholars in academia. It’s scary out there, please stay safe. ❤️🫂
how the fuck am i supposed to focus and study for exams on this godforsaken campus when im terrified that each day i go to class will be the day we turn into columbia. something like this has been my fear a long time coming, and our sjp chapter is super active. im so uncomfortable and i have it good!

It makes me happy to hear that some people are interested in the Jewish Zine.
Obviously, it's still early and details are always prone to change, but main desires are the following:
Zine will be available in print and digital form. Digital may be cheaper and more convenient, but I like the permanence of a physical copy. Digital can be too ephemeral - not to mention, sites can easily be hacked or manipulated by trolls or bad actors, which I'd like to avoid if I can. Plus, if we have extra copies, maybe I could donate them to local teen Jewish organizations. Which means that, yeah, unfortunately, the work can't be any spicier than PG-13 (sorry!)
The Zine will be Zionist-friendly. This is a big one and I imagine it will be the most contentious issue. But the reason why I wanted to make this zine was because it annoyed me how gentiles would take Jewish characters and draw fanart of them saying things like "From the river to the sea..." I want this zine to be a reclamation of our work and our participation in fandom. Our fictional characters aren't there to be your 'good Jews' either.
This will be a Zine for Jews, by Jews. Analysis, headcanons, fanfic, fanart, gen, shippy, etc - whatever you want. So long as the material has Jewish themes, it's all good.
I'm still figuring things out and seeing who will work on a team with me. I do not have Zine experience, personally, but I have friends who do and I want to make something really special. Something that says "We are here and we matter."
A lot of us have been facing antisemitism in fandom spaces. A lot of us have been feeling alienated from places that we used to enjoy participating in. That's why I want this Zine to be multi-fandom, so we can all celebrate our work and support each other.

The Bad Batch 3x12 spoilers:
Hunter not getting mad at Crosshair is everything. I’m never letting anyone gaslight me into doubting him again. He has never been this hyper-masculine, toxic, overly aggressive person some of you want him to be so badly. He’s always been reasonable.
The fact that no one really got mad at all is so important because it shows the growth they’ve had as a team. Wrecker was the only one to express disbelief in what Crosshair did, and I’m so glad they gave him that moment, but Hunter not saying it shows the trust Crosshair has been able to rebuild with him.
Obviously he isn’t happy Omega is gone, but he doesn’t take it out on Crosshair, especially when he knows how awful it is when you feel like you were the one who lost her. There was a time when he wouldn’t have let Omega be left alone with him because no one could trust him (probably around the time Crosshair said “aim for the kid” lmao) and now he trusts him enough to allow her to make her own choices and go along with them. It also shows the faith they both have in Omega.
I don’t think it’s foreshadowing anything. Maybe it is, but I think it’s more important that it isn’t. This moment serves to show how far these two men have come with each other from the first season. Hunter is the leader for a reason, so the fact he is willing to just listen to Crosshair and go along with his ideas without question says so much about their progress because I think some of us are forgetting that this show has primarily been about Crosshair’s journey and redemption.
Redemption and trust have to be earned and I think this episode is the ultimate proof that he is doing it as perfectly as anyone could. Their relationship as a group is not the same as it was before Crosshair left, it’s much stronger now. I think this was the perfect way to handle this scene.

Where Hunter sometimes lacks in outward emotional expression, he makes up for in micro expressions and overall awareness for others.
I feel like this is especially true this season.
They’ve put so much emphasis on Hunter showing concern and awareness for Crosshair this season. The camera cuts to Hunter’s reactions when Crosshair expresses his fears, when his hand shakes. Even when Omega copies Crosshair. Hunter always appears pensive.
There’s a reason for that. They wouldn’t be showing us his reaction for no reason.
I think it’s to bring the audience clarity for any actions Hunter might make relating to Crosshair going forward.
Hunter knows his brother is terrified to return to Tantiss. He knows, to an extent, what his brother went through there. He’s surprisingly pretty cool and collected towards Crosshair after Omega’s taken, and very thoughtful.
Hunter probably doesn’t want to let Crosshair suffer through his past traumas more than necessary.
I wonder what lengths Hunter will go to to keep Crosshair safe.

I can’t tell if this is genuine or if it’s satire, but if it’s satire, no it’s actually not. Bc this is the kind of toxic work culture that academia encourages. Like for fucks sake I’m going to be writing seminar papers DURING pesach this year and that absolutely infuriates me. Never mind that because I’m Jewish I don’t get to have my important holidays on a designated day off for everyone. I just have to find a way to work it in. And I will never stop resenting that
If it’s not satire somehow, then shame on this person for normalizing this horrible low key abusive work environment that-especially- grad students are subjected to.

And then Anakin looked—truly looked—and saw that he was.
His face had paled to ash, silver tear tracks alighting like the first rain on a planet’s surface after heavy bombardment.
And then he faltered, and years of instinct had Anakin abandoning all his anger and rushing forward to catch him before he could hit the ground.
“Master?” Anakin croaked, hugging him close and trying not to panic.
He remembered once, many years ago, in a class with a Jedi master he couldn’t remember the name of, learning about birds. Their bones were hollow to make them lighter, so they could fly.
Obi Wan felt like that now, hollow boned and light. But Obi Wan, who had no feathers, no wings, just hollow bones, could not fly. He fell instead, to lay limp in Anakin’s arms like a bird’s skeleton long after its body, feathers and all, had been claimed by nature.

Hello everyone! Here’s the piece I wrote for the @obiwanwhumpminibang 2024! I collaborated with the amazingly talented Nova— @thechaoticfanartist , who made some BEAUTIFUL art work for the story. Go make sure to check their Tumblr soon to see it!
Here is a short summary:
“Obi Wan is exhausted and alone in the aftermath of Satine’s death and Ahsoka’s trial. Anakin no longer trusts him- not since Rako Hardeen- and after Ahsoka leaves, Obi Wan is a convenient target for his rage. Obi Wan does not having the will or the energy to fight off Anakin’s verbal attack—he accepts it, and the last thing that was holding him together breaks.
“He collapses and spends the following days with a fever that won’t abate, dreaming of love and loss, good and evil, light and dark. All the while Anakin sits anxiously beside him, guilty and miserable, refusing to return to the front until his master is well again.”
