I WANT ART TO BE FUN BUT I WANT MY ART TO BE GOOD PERFECT SELLABLE AMAZING I WANT TO MAKE ART TO BE SEEN AND ADMIRED AND INSPIRING AND I CAN ONLY DO THAT IF ITS PERFECT
I WANTED TO BE A FAMOUS ARTIST WHEN I GREW UP. I DON'T WANT THAT ANYMORE. I JUST WANT ART TO BE FUN. AND I WANT PEOPLE TO LIKE MY ART TOO. AND TO REMEMBER PEOPLE DO.
i feel like i haven't made any progress with my art for years. i feel like i'm not good at it at all anymore and maybe i never was. maybe i just had more confidence. I want to draw completely differently. but i feel like my heads clogged with old habits. i think those old habits look bad when i draw them now. they look good in old art.
the last time i felt like this was so long ago i handled it differently. i wasn't angry i didn't care. but art is who i am right? how can i be anything else? i think i'm in a rut again. i feel like i can't draw ever again.
but i always draw anyway. no matter what. i feel like this when i can't draw and then i go and make a piece i really like a week later. I've done this since i was 12. way before i used this character to represent me. I'll probably do this until i die.
well.
maybe i'll make a more coherent comic the next time it happens. i'll probably just go throw rocks at the ground.
