Chronoscope trailer
Tumblr media
vimeo
Short trailer
Hybrid of HD and animation (around 1200 painted frames). Directed animated and edited by www.s-a-r-a-h.it Soundtrack by Marco Giotto aka www.vontesla.com
“There is nothing in a caterpillar that tells you it’s going to be a butterfly.” R. Buckminster Fuller
Chronoscope is apparently a way to see the past, but what if the past tells us more about the future than we usually think? There’s a sense of entropy, we are now in a point where we should just take a step back. Ephemeralization is not the answer maybe, but this ephemeral symbol, the butterfly, stands for self-organizing, self-regulated – but never fixed or rigid – systems in nature, that can help us to reimagine an ecological approach.

PROJECT WILD THING – official trailer
Tumblr media
vimeo
HOW TO SEE THE FILM: https://ift.tt/159E46C
“A gripping story of the desperate struggle to lead our computer-crazed children back to nature.” Harry Mount, The Daily Telegraph
“Enlightening and entertaining. Like David Attenborough and Morgan Spurlock got drunk and had a baby…” Hussain Currimbhoy, Sheffield Doc/Fest
David Bond is concerned. His kids’ waking hours are dominated by a cacophony of marketing, and a screen dependence threatening to turn them into glassy-eyed zombies. Like city kids everywhere, they spend way too much time indoors – not like it was back in his day. He decides it’s time to get back to nature – literally. In an attempt to compete with the brands, which take up a third of his daughter’s life, Bond appoints himself Marketing Director for Nature. Like any self-respecting salesman, he sets about developing a campaign and a logo. With the help of a number of bemused professionals, he is soon selling Nature to British families. His humorous journey unearths some painful truths about modern family life. His product is free, plentiful and has proven benefits – but is Nature past its sell-by date?

Therapist Doesn’t Think Spirituality is Important
Tumblr media
vimeo
“I like to think that I’m a spiritual person. I go to church pretty regularly, and I try to live a good life in general. I also struggle with anorexia, which I am going to a therapist to work through. What I’m having a hard time understanding is how exactly my faith can play a role in my recovery journey. My therapist doesn’t seem too worried about that particular aspect (spirituality), but there’s something inside of me that says I should at least explore it. What do you think?”

Outsource your self-discipline to your best buddy, the computer – Filip van Laenen
Tumblr media
vimeo
Recorded 23 May 2011 at the Roots conference in Bergen, Norway.
Abstract:
TDD has three phases: writing test code, writing source code to make the test pass, and, optionally, refactoring. But what does it mean to refactor your code, and how do you know when you’re done?
Writing test code is easy: as soon as the test you’re writing (or modifying) doesn’t pass any more, you have a valid test and should start writing source code. In the same way, as soon as you’ve written enough source code to make the test pass, you’re done with that. But what are the criteria to start refactoring, and when can you start writing test code again?
Whether or not you should start (or stop) refactoring, depends on “how good looking” your code is. This can be a very subjective thing, from “anything that works, goes” (no refactoring) to spending a lot of time getting the formatting perfect (gold plating). In my experience, you get better results when you use more objective criteria, e.g. based on static code analysis tools, test coverage or mutation testing, though there will always be a subjective part to it too. The big advantage of letting automatic tools help you decide whether you should refactor or not, is that they never have a bad day, and never go easy on you. And they never miss a spot, at least not the spots you instructed them to look for.
In this talk, I will illustrate some practical ways on how you can use static code analysis, test coverage and mutation testing to improve the quality of your code, and how they can help you maintain your self-discipline. I will also explain why they’re not a silver bullet, and why you still have to behave professionally while writing software. Finally, I will show how this extends the traditional three-phased TDD workflow, and how the new phases plug in to the workflow. Likes: 2 Viewed:

a diary of a different me
Tumblr media
vimeo
I am a person who tends to stuck in daydreams even when it’s a huge disadvantage. Often dream about a productive and exciting life that goes through my mind almost like a diary. Still, in reality I just keep scrolling on my cell phone and lie in bed, thinking about how great it would be to go for a hike, write a new song or just go out with friends but still not doing it. That idea turned out to be the “a diary of a different me” as a self-criticism for myself and for many people in this society. We keep on procrastinating and forget about our passions. It is a bad habit that fortunately I start to grow out and focus more on things I love like film, art, music and finally changing my “fake” diary into my real one and live life to the fullest. For the short film to be more authentic I chose to play myself and with the help of a camera tripod and a friend I managed to shoot all the footage I wanted. I like to play with stop motion and also sneak graphic art into my videos and to keep it upbeat while editing. Furthermore I added a narration as well so it feels more that we are in the person’s (me) mind. The narration tells what is the ideal day, what we’d like it to be as waking up early, start with a morning jog, be productive. While as we see the reality is sleeping in, eating junk food and scrolling through Instagram until 2am. (music: So much more-Grace Vanderwaal) Likes: 1 Viewed:
