It would be pretty funny if Mo Xuanyu was actually good at makeup, he just thought Wei Wuxian would enjoy looking like a hanged ghost. He's seen the portraits and he's not taking any chances. Just Mo Xuanyu, on the brink of nonexistence, trying to slip in the Laozu's good graces so he'd murder his family extra good. Aiming for a good grade in body offering, something that is both normal to want and possible to achieve.

Happy lunar new year, C! i hope this little gift finds you well <3 i had so much fun making it, i intended it to be more elaborate/detailed but i’ve been struggling with some hand pain so i had to settle for this more loose style, i hope you still like it! the text is a shortened version of the poem “good bones” by maggie smith, i read it a long time ago and it really left an impression on me n i couldn’t get this idea out of my head. in your likes you listed you like kidfics and and kissing, i don’t write but i still tried to marry the things you mentioned in a way 🤍

wei wuxian is like imagine if the only thing you knew about your parents was that they had died honourably as cultivators, and then your adoptive parental figures also sacrificed their lives to die honourably. and you’ve spent your entire life knowing that was how you were going to go, wanting to go that way even, because that would be glorious, that would be easy, that would clear all the debts. then you’re forced on a path where honour is no longer an option for you. but you still want to die glorious. so you construct this narrative in your head where the man you love is going to kill you, and it will be justice, and it will be a grand tragedy out of a story. except he won’t do it. he’s still trying to pull you back when it’s too late, when you’ve decided to take it into your own hands. you get brought back by a boy who remembers you for that grand story. it turns out stories like that just make more boys want to kill themselves. it turns out that you can’t control those stories, and those stories don’t matter, and what mattered all along was not how you died but that there is still a chance to live, and that miraculously there is a still a man who loves you
