Realising now more than ever that embracing my transness has saved me in so many ways. I don’t have to feel like a victim of the body I was born into any more, and I no longer resent the little girl I once was. She didn’t know.

People from other countries being horrified by this picture is so entertaining to me. Mikey lives in Tennessee rn. I was born in Tennessee and my uncle/second cousin used to take me and my little brother to do what he called Mercenary Training which was code for taking us up into a big clearing in the woods in the mountains and setting up a bunch of targets (empty two liters of soda and busted computer monitors along with actual range targets) and then handing us an uzi and telling us to go ham while teaching us gun safety. Some real redneck, sorry, good ol' boy, shit. Was this appropriate for children? Probably not. That's just what the South is like. Just be glad he is on a range.

I’ve been using it for a while now. It definitely works - my hair fall has really reduced and my scalp is a lot less irritated!
I brought an oil blend off Etsy and ive been massaging it into my scalp around my thinning patches and letting it sit for half an hour to an hour once or twice a week. they’re definitely not thinning any more!!
Rosemary oil has allegedly been proven to be almost as effective as minoxidil for hair regrowth, to the point that some doctors have been recommending it as an alternative for those who can’t take conventional treatment. From what I’ve read it won’t affect things like traction alopecia, but because it blocks the production of DHT it can help with hormonal hair loss or what is commonly referred to as male pattern balding.
Apparently you just have to make sure you use an organic one, and then add some to your shampoo or another carrier oil.
From what I can gather most people seem to recommend using around three-four drops per ounce of shampoo/oil.
I will try this out soon and reblog with my findings.

I’ve been drinking a lot of hibiscus and green tea recently and it’s legitimately helped clear up my skin better than what any OTC or prescribed products I’ve ever tried have…. I think I’ve cracked the code.
My favourite blends at the moment are the goji berry sencha from the tea shop in town and a home-made hibiscus blend of 1/2 dried hibiscus, and 1/4 each of dried coconut and dried strawberries.

What makes it even worse is when swimming pools have rules about what kinds of bathing suits are “allowed” or not.
I used to get told off by the lifeguards at my local pool for trying to wear a pair of trunks or a wetsuit over my swimming costume because it “didn’t fit with the acceptable bathing wear policy.”, despite the fact that wearing a standard swimsuit made me viscerally uncomfortable. Anyone who wore swimming costumes that didn’t fit the “dress code“ would be told to leave the water and change into something more suitable.
The policy has since been changed, and similar policies are becoming less common than they were when I was younger, but pools that continue to enforce them end up othering those who don’t want to wear “typical” bathing suits, particularly those with disabilities, those with body or confidence issues, and trans and GNC people.
It's absolutely wild to me that girls and women are expected to wear bathing suits that look like that. That in some cases don't cover more than underwear. And when inevitably they feel uncomfortable having their whole ass and thighs out around strangers, we treat it like this is a self esteem issue that should be solved through body positivity. Maybe we should focus less on trying to force people to believe they should be comfortable exposing themselves and more on, idk.... normalizing bathing suits that allow some dignity? Male swim trunks literally go almost down to the knees. You have to go to a speciality store or order online to find a suit designed for women like that. And for that matter, even cisgender men shouldn't be expected to feel comfortable walking around shirtless in public.
If you like the standard swimsuits and enjoy wearing them, good for you. It's just absolutely wild to me that that's the default we presume everyone should be comfortable in.

I’m not in this bad mental state as much any more but it still stands. Please remember that you are worth so much more than what you’re able to withstand <3
The downside to being an artist who also uses being creative as a coping mechanism is that eventually you get to a point where you can only put out “good” work when you’re in a state of severe emotional distress and you end up having to commodify your pain and it’s just. Not great.
Like yes this is the most productive I’ve ever been and I am able to put out multiple pieces of art a week and I am songwriting better than I ever have before, but the rest of my life is completely falling into shambles and I’m powerless to stop it.

My friends and mum keep nagging me about going out drinking for my 18th birthday and it’s getting really tiring reminding them that I’ve been straightedge since last summer… there are no decent clubs round here so we’d literally be going out to get drunk and I’m really not into that at all.

I'm way more heated about that than i should be, but it's a really fucking shitty reminder that even queer leftists don't see amab nonbinary people as anything but cis men unless we're wearing dresses and eyeliner. Like come the fuck on, man.
