chuck sits on the couch in his penthouse suite , having rolled a generous joint . he never skimps and certainly not when nathaniel partakes . he can’t recall the last time they were able to come together and share in their favourite recreational pastime . he lifts the pearl to his lips , striking a match to light its end as he inhales slowly , watching the ember glow hotly . smoke inflates his lungs , and its smooth burn causes him to hum softly in appreciation . a sharp intake of breath as he swallows thickly before handing the joint to nathaniel .  he falls back against the cushion and rests his head for a brief moment , lips forming a soft ‘ o ‘ as he exhales 30 seconds later . not much smoke is dispersed , but the euphoria he feels is prominent . ‘ tell me , nathaniel . to what or who do i owe this pleasure ? ‘ he asks , sinking back further into the cushion and closing his eyes .
