To those who don't work in coffee, FYI the avg wholesale 5lb bag of specialty, fresh-roasted espresso beans costs like $8. You're getting maybe 15-30g of beans in your drink (depending on shots etc) and then maybe 200-300ml of milk and then up to 1-2oz of syrup, all of which adds up to like a whopping $0.75 in cost for the business. Add on the cost of a cup and lid for like $0.15 and then you pay $7 for a drink that cost the business under a dollar. (Obviously excluding cost of labor and operations.) You are being profoundly and phenomenally took.
