“Just how times are right now.” Lexi shrugged, an eyebrow raising. She gave a tiny smile to try and calm herself. “I mean, it’s not like there’s a lot of coinage to go around?” A small laugh escaped the girl at her own joke.
goldcnlemvtt:
“Nice to meet you, Claudine.” Lexi replied, a small smile embracing her face. “I’m a broke kid with not that much allowance,” was her answer. She knew it was a bit of a stretch, she could ask either of her dads for money whenever, she just didn’t want to bother them with her empty lunch account.
“N-nice to meet you too.” Her expression twisted when the girl said she was broke, confused by the fact that an Auradonian could be struggling - but really, it wasn’t up to her to judge. She nodded slightly, pencil tapping gently against her notebook. “Oh. That’s u-unfortunate.”

She gave a thumbs up, not sure how else to respond. That was, until the mention of a milkshake came up, “I’d love too, Eden. And you promise all day?” Lexi didn’t want to be a bother if her sister did have something else coming up.
goldcnlemvtt:
“Thanks Eden,” a small smile, “I know that I’m young, but everyone is always pressuring me to choose something now. It doesn’t help my mental state, but you probably don’t want to hear about that.” Lexi didn’t want to burden her family with her problems, which is why she kept quiet.
“Hey, no Lexi…I’m your sister. Anytime you need to talk, I will always be here. I’m sorry that people have been pressuring you but I promise you have your entire life to discover what you want to do.” Eden said and then perked up. “Hey do you want to go get a milkshake from Pop’s?” She asked. “And we can sit down and you can tell everything that you feel like you need to talk about, okay? I’m free all day.”

Lexi smiled, “You won’t V, don’t worry.” The girl hoped she portrayed confidence. She really did want to keep her family around, even if she was constantly scared that they’d leave her. “You should be worried about Dad, being a police officer and all. He’s more likely to get hurt than I am.”
Vanessa smiled at the younger LeMutt. “Good I’m glad.” She told her as she hoisted the girl up. “I just don’t want to see my baby sister getting hurt.” Vanessa was always super protective over her siblings, no matter what the situation was. It was just part of her, she hadn’t had the family she was born to and there was no way she was losing this one.

“An apple works. Thank you,” Lexi took the fruit with a nod. She was grateful that the other hadn’t looked at her with disgust upon her request. A bite was taken from the apple and a smile spread across her face. “Lexi LeMutt, and you are?”
“N-no problem.” Claudine’s gaze fell back to her notebook, assuming that the conversation had ended - except then the girl was pressing for her name, and she looked back up with wide eyes, surprised. “… C-Claudine.” Her lips pulled slightly into a frown before asking carefully, “Why - why don’t you have any food with you? Can’t you go to the c-cafeteria?” It seemed like a silly question, but she just didn’t quite understand.

“Am I allowed to say both?” The girl asked. Lexi didn’t know what to do. She didn’t want to burden her family with her problems. Her anxiety was rearing its ugly head. She moved away from Mikayla, backing to the wall and hugging her knees close.
goldcnlemvtt:
“Well if you hate me that much, why did you even stop by?” Lexi said with a roll of her eyes. She was in a bad mood. Homework was piling up and she was too scared to turn it in late. Eyes locked with her older sister. “But it is nice to see you, Mik. Even if I’m being a bitch about it.”
“hey,” she began and sat down on her bed. “i don’t hate you that much,” she replied in a teasing tone. her eyebrow raised as she studied her sister’s face. “are you okay? school getting to you or is it just a shitty day?”

Lexi sighed, “Fine, I suppose it’s not a lot.” The younger’s face fell. Scared she had disappointed the other, her voice was small as she replied, “I don’t have anything I want to do. There’’s nothing I love that could become a job.”
Eden just laughed and shook her head “Lexi, i’m just giving you a hard time. It’s okay. I know I ask a lot of questions.” she said before letting her smile soften. “Hey, that’s okay. I mean you’re only fifteen. I was in college having no idea what I wanted to do. It took me awhile to discover myself. You have time.” Eden said, putting a hand on her shoulder. “You’re young. you don’t have to worry about that right now.”

“Just exploring,” she replied. Lexi smiled, her face calm but eyes void of emotion. She shrugged, “So, we good?”

The girl had been wandering around Auradon for hours. She had never gotten to know the layout of the place and figured it was about time she did. Lexi found herself in a dark alleyway behind one of the makeup shops, staring at the brick wall. How she ended up there, she couldn’t say. Footsteps fell on her ears and she turned around, “May I help you?”
“no, not at all” she said looking at the other one and just shrugged “i was just passing by but what are you doing here?”

Lexi was hungry. Her stomach gurgled as she tried to find food. The only problem was that she was a fifteen year old with a barely stable allowance that she always spent as soon as she got. “Hey,” she said, drawing out the single syllable, “You have some money I can borrow? Or some food. Food would be even better since then I wouldn’t have a debt.”

“That’s a lot of questions,” Lexi laughed. Though whether it was from her calling two a lot or something else, she wasn’t sure. “And I only have a few answers.” The younger smiled though, glad to see her family. “I’ve been doing alright, made a few friends. As for school, when’s the soonest I can drop out? They’re not teaching me anything I don’t already know and the tests are really hard.”
‘Oh it’s not a lot.” Eden said but she was guilty for asking a lot of questions. She just wanted to know how the lives of her siblings was because she cared about every single one of them. “Oh that’s good! Friends are always a must have when you’re in high school.” She said but frowned a little when she said she wanted to drop out. “Aw, come on Lex. I know that school is hard, I know it is, but trust me it’s a good thing. Because of school, you’ll get to do what you love.”

walking down the halls of auradon prep, an odd chill went down her spine. as she approached her sister’s door, she knocked twice before walking in, hand on her hip. “i come back to auradon after six months and you don’t even come say hi? you make me come out of my dorm and come back to this horrible place? rude. very, very rude.”

Lexi smiled with a sarcastic roll of her eyes, “Of course I’m fine; I always land on my feet!” The younger replied, jokingly. She grabbed her sister’s hand to pull herself up, laughing. Right now, she was happy, feeling upbeat for some reason.
Watching her goofy little sister, V couldn’t help but smile. As the younger fell from the curb, she hurried over to help her up. “Lex! Are you okay?” She asked as she reached her hand out to help her up. Seeing the youngest LeMutt being a goof always brought a smile to the older females face. Her siblings were just about everything to her.

Lexi hadn’t seen most of her family in a while, having been caught up with school. “Hey Eden!” she called when she saw her sister. Her legs took longer strides to meet the other, “How’s it hanging?”
Eden turned around and smiled as she saw her youngest sister and she opened her arms up to hug the other. “It’s hanging good! How’re you? Sorry I haven’t seen you in awhile. Works been kicking my ass.” Eden said. “How has school been?”
