the idea that restrooms, locker rooms, etc need to be single-sex spaces in order for women to be safe is patriarchy's way of signalling to men & boys that society doesn't expect them to behave themselves around women. it is directly antifeminist. it would be antifeminist even if trans people did not exist. a feminist society would demand that women should be safe in all spaces even when there are men there.

I’m having a heated argument with my father about jelly. I think it slaps. Especially when it has little fruit bits in it. He wrongly thinks it’s horrid and old fashioned. So I come to the great heathens of tumblr settle our debate.

im noticing that for a lot of americans “free palestine” has been an ideological motto and symbol rather than them actually believing in their heart that freedom is attainable and necessary

No media representation, of any group, will ever be perfect. No group is a monolith. No group has homogeneous experiences. There will always be someone in your demographic who disagrees with you about what "good representation" really is, there will always be someone who fits the stereotypical representation, there will always be growth and change in what is considered appropriate vs. offensive.

The quest for truly perfect representation is doomed to failure, and your energy is better put into uplifting the media you connect with and love, instead of trying to police the media you hate.

If we somehow get a 4 day work week going I want Wednesday off. Not three days in a row. I wanna work for two days, get a day to can some vegetables or whatever, and then work two days and then get a weekend. I want a Power Nap of a day. Also idk why my phone decided to capitalize Power Nap but it’s a proper noun now I guess

I’d rather have homeless people sleeping on benches than not have benches. I think the majority of people would rather witness homeless people existing and using public amenities than not have those amenities available at all.
