Gabriel rolls Sam’s eyes and works his jaw and stretches. Inside, Sam writhes with discomfort as the wrong archangel settles into him like broken glass. Gabriel’s perfectly comfy. He picks Sam’s soul up and flicks it into a corner of his body where it might learn to be quiet.
Sam’s too smart to fight back. He knows they won’t get this offer a second time.
