On today's #FlashbackFridayWithTheGoddess I give you @jarule and @ashanti . I figured I should switch things up a bit and give y'all some international content today, lol. Oouuuhhh I remember this day in 2014 like it was yesterday. At work (Hip Tv) we had heard that Jarule and Ashanti were coming to Nigeria for a concert and of course my boss then @ayoanimashaun probably figured that come hell or high water, I was the one who could get them to agree to an interview, lol . We knew what day they were coming, but weren't sure what time it would be, so I took a car and driver from the office and parked at the airport and after waiting in the car for about 5 hours, we saw their convoy drive out from the Murtala Muhammed Airport and we followed them to the private hanger they were going to be taking a private jet in Warri. When we got to the hanger, I asked Ja Rule for an interview to which he obliged, but in Ashanti's case, I had to ask her mom/manager who spoke to Ashanti on my behalf because they couldn't find some of her luggage and she was a bit upset about it. There was no producer on set that day, just me and the camera guy and I ended up having to both interview and produce the news for that day. Jah rule probably enjoyed the interview and liked my energy a lot, because on the day of the show when he was walked off the stage and was going to the green room, he spotted me in the crowd and gave me the most epic high five that shocked people around that they started coming to meet me to ask if I knew JaRule personally 🤣🤣🤣🤣 . #FlashbackFridayWithTheGoddess Today's post is flashing back to 2012 when I got to interview the E.M.E (Empire Mates Entertainment) crew; @bankywellington @wizkidayo @youngskales @shaydeeboi and @niyola . I was a presenter at Hip TV then and was such a huge fan of them not only because they made amazing music together but also individually, back then they were also one of the few groups that actually operated as a family. With hits like "Sun mo mi", "Change" and my personal favourite "Baddest boy" the E.M.E all stars definitely shaped an era in music in Nigeria. Today's post is flashing back to @wizkidayo in 2010 and 2011 when he was really just starting to get some recognition in the Nigerian entertainment industry. Looking through these pictures, I just realised that I actually met and interviewed Wiz at the first event I ever hosted as a presenter in 2010 for Snap! TV where I was working at the time (See Second Slide) . At this time Wiz was signed to Empire Mates Entertainment and was already a force to reckon with even at such a young age. My fondest memory of him, is picking him up from the University of Lagos gate and driving him to his perfomance on the premises, where when he was done electrifying the stage, he almost got lost in the crowd, no thanks to the swarm of fans who absolutely enjoyed his performance and didn't want him to leave. So many memories yo!! I wish you could have been there to see it yourself, but I hope these pictures can do enough justice in letting you see the humble beginnings of Wiz who is now a legend today.
