"Sure is a scorcher today, ain't it?" Cindy wiped her brow and fanned herself with her hat. The power had gone out at her garage and she'd subsequently sent her worker sheep away to cool off, leaving her to her own devices.
Currently, she stood by a vending machine, trying to decide what it was she wanted to drink. She slipped a few coins in, punched the appropriate buttons and soon received a can of soda. She popped it open with a single hand and jutted her head towards the river that seemed to cut through town. "What say you about that river? Good place to cool off?"

Cindy set down the final bits of her lunch and wiped her hands before entering the garage. "Whacha got fer me, now?" She rounded the blond and his bike, taking in the sight of this bike. She'd worked with them before, but this looked like a new beast, at least to her.
Tumblr media
"Well, ain't she somethin'" Cindy let out a long whistle and crouched to get a better look at the engine and all her connections. So far, it didn't seem to differ much, just a few added bells and whistles. "Name's Cindy." She stood and held her hand out to the other. "And what all is it yer lookin' t' get done?"

Normally, Cloud could fix up Fenrir pretty well on his own. It was his bike, after all. He should know how to fix it. And he wasn’t totally clueless when it came to mechanics. There were some problems he couldn’t fix on his own, though.
So here he was at the mechanic, wheeling the motorcycle up to the curb to park it. The engine had given out a few block away so he’d had to walk it. It wasn’t difficult, but he was glad to see the building. It was getting pretty hot outside.
Putting down Fenrir’s kickstand, he headed inside. “…’Cuse me?” He called, not seeing anyone at the desk. “Anyone here? Got a bike for you t’ look at.”

It's all still so new, so different from the Eos she knew. From the ever growing night and, with it, the threat to all life. Still, Cindy couldn't complain. She'd take the sheep accompanying her on a snack run over the odd vermin or daemon hidden just off the path any day. Speaking of...
A playful grin tugged at her lips as she noticed the all too familiar guy tucked behind brush and bridge, his camera up and attention fully engaged on snapping a photo. It wasn't until he was done that she spoke.
Tumblr media
"Well, you gonna show me, ain't ya?" She got closer, trying to get a peek at the camera's screen. "Is it a good one?"

Woah, alright. Cindy steadied herself. She'd been taking this being whisked away thing in stride. Sure, she worried for her garage back home, but she was sure Pawpaw had it under control, but this. This. It wasn't as though she hadn't met royalty before, hell, she had become his main mechanic, but it was different when it wasn't just a royal, but The Oracle herself. Cindy had grown up listening to stories of her works across Eos, had seen newsprint of her now and again, and even dared to imagine what it might be like to meet her, to watch her wed and see her smile so soft and genuine as she had in those last few days before Insomnia fell. So now Cindy steadied her breath and adjusted her hat in some attempt at presentation before approaching the woman she never thought she'd ever get to meet.

"Hi, Lady Lunafreya, ain’t it?" She held out her hand to shake, realized her folly, retrieved it and hastily removed her dirtied work glove before extending her hand again. "Ah'm Cindy, a friend o' the prince's."

Having sheep for coworkers was fine most of the time. Cindy was fine to work quietly and focus on the task, on fluid checks and tune-up, but occasionally she missed the banter around the shop, and occasionally she wondered if her sheep would stop wandering out and butting people in. With a sigh, Cindy rolled out from a nearly done vehicle and looked up at the hapless individual.
Tumblr media
"Ah... don't suppose yer here to get a quote'r some such, are ya?" She'd be mad if the sheep weren't trying so hard to be helpful.
