Best worldbuilding detail of Disco Elysium is that imperial measurements DO NOT exist, and are not used anywhere in the world they are never even remotely acknowledged within the text. There is a vague discussion of the history of le Systemme Internationale (SI units) though not by that name, but there is even within that discussion there's no mention of what predated SI units.

The upshot of this is whenever someone uses imperial in a fanfic or even talks about DE with imperial units my visceral reaction is just "please do not yank in my nice clean fandom tia". Sorry, but also, please do not yank in my nice clean fandom thanks in advance.

There will be discourse about if Biden and the living former presidents should go to his funeral (they won't, he was a traitor insurrectionist)

The Ukraine-Russia War immediately goes in favor of Ukraine as morale in the Kremlin is reduced. China similarly backs off from its threats on Taiwan.

Ten thousand new memes are made, some sticking around for years to come.

Sorry but Kim and Jean's possibly implied dynamic is so so funny to me. Jean admires him as a paragon of upstanding police work ("We'd be honored to have you") while, if I'm reading into it right, Kim shows him violent disdain in return by calling him Mr. Vicquemare. If he calls Harry "Detective" or "Lieutenant" when he's pleased and "Officer" when he's mad, and feels disrespected that Harry keeps calling him by his first name instead of Lieutenant, refusing to call Jean by his title feels like very subtle but harsh disrespect.

I was using the collage mode to gather some references again and I realized Kim is the only officer [we have a 3d model of] wearing his RCM patch on his left arm.

Considering Kim's outfit is technically a pilot cosplay, I think it would be sooo funny if he sewed or ironed it himself on the wrong arm by accident, but decided not to change it because it made him feel like he's such a rebel and so cool etc etc.

But also considering in our world armbands are commonly worn on the left arm, it would be even funnier if he's wearing it right like a good boy, as the rest of his precinct, and it's only the 41st who fucked up and has been wearing it wrong the whole time. They haven't even realized. It'd be the least of their worries if someone pointed it out though.

So I learned that if you fail the Drama check during the sunken car investigation, Kim will basically find your attempt at whistling endearing and encourage you to keep at it

It's really cute. It goes to show that Harry messing up out of genuine determination makes Kim see him as endearing rather than a full-on disaster sometimes
