To anyone who believes fairy tale romances never happen in real life, may I remind you that JRR and Edith Tolkien met and experienced a forbidden love in their youth, and then were separated for five whole years because of his guardian’s rules that he could not date till he was 21, and she got engaged to someone else only because she assumed he’d forgotten her and lost hope that she could ever be with him, but then on his 21st birthday, he wrote her a letter saying he still loved her and wanted to marry her, she responded basically saying ‘if I’d known you hadn’t left me on the shelf, I would never have said yes to anyone else,’ then a week later she greeted him at the train station and then immediately dumped her fiancé, and they got married and she converted to his religion and danced for him in a flowering field far away from the trenches into which he was drafted, which left such an impression that he crafted an entire story about the most beautiful maiden in the world who danced in the woods and made enormous sacrifices to be with the man she loved, and they had four kids and remained faithful to each other and blissfully grew old together and their gravestones are now marked with the names of that same fictional couple that he created, who broke every rule and overcame every possible obstacle to be together and get a happy ending, who only did all that because he based it all on their own real love story.

Hufflepup Ch 2 - Intervention
Tumblr media
Harry had never experienced the slowing of time before. Perhaps he could blame the pensieve for shifts in temporal perception. All the heads in the room - two Head of House heads, a referee head, a Headmaster head and the family heads - swung towards Harry in slow motion, each soft clink of Dumbledore’s instruments akin to hammer striking anvil. And in that moment where time stretched slower than stale chewing gum, Harry realized two things: 1) His unvocalized desire to snog Ginevra Weasley until she forgot her loss, her house and her own name had made an unauthorized leap over the introvert fence in a bid for vocal actualization. 2) Vocal chords engaged in vocal actualization produced perceptible sound. “Shite.”

Hinny mental hospital AU where Harry is suffering from Cotard's syndrome (he kind of believes that he's dead) and Ginny has a bad case of Capgras delusion (she mostly believes that her loved ones are imposters). Imagine the possibilities. Harry thinks Ginny can see ghosts or is a channel between the worlds of the living and dead. Or Ginny is an angel who will escort him to heaven. Or Ginny is the Grimm reaper, lol
And Ginny thinks Harry is a cop who can save her from her con family.  Or She sees him as a ghost at his insistence (maybe even her guardian angel).
And imagine the chaos when they naturally (and twistedly) start to fall in love! Between therapy and treatments, the hospital staff would have the time of their lives watching the drama unfold.

The thing is,
You can see HBP from Ginny's pov as the emotionally excruciating process of dealing with coming to terms with still having feelings for Harry, feelings that are now reciprocated after years of pining, mixed with an intense sense of guilt over poor Dean's unfortunate position in the whole mess...
OR
(and this is a lot more fun)
You can see it as Ginny being in the middle of one of those classic teenage tv series love triangles. On one side there's the good guy, the reasonable choice, the one no fan if not a couple of delusional ones is rooting for because he is kind of boring. And on the other side, you have the fan favourite, the dark brooding guy with light eyes who would let the world burn to save the girl. Rationally he is kind of a terrible choice but the girl is obviously in love with him and, let's face it: there wasn't really any competition to begin with.

Hinny - 🪷
AU, where Jily never died, and Harry grew up with the Weasley’s. This was their reaction every time James and Lily told Harry it was time to go home. The first time it happened, James told Lily that their son was going to marry Ginny.

Saw a post on Reddit, and now I have feelings. Allow me to stand on this here soap box for a minute.
JKR has stated that Fred and George figured out the passphrase for the Maurader's Map by being coached through it by the map itself. This makes me all the more irritated with the line "Never trust anything if you can't tell where it keeps its brain" and I absolutely hate that she made Arthur Weasley say it. It's a moment completely out of character for him, a man who offers soft comfort and encouragement to his children every day. A man who only ever raised his voice once in 7 books when his sons took a prank too far and intentionally caused harm. There's no way he would berate his daughter, who is clearly torn up about what happened, for getting manipulated, especially not as the first words he speaks to her after she was minutes away from death.
Inconsistent world building leads to inconsistent characters. It's literally never addressed that the map is sentient, just like the fucking diary. Nope, we're just told talking diary = evil, and dumb Ginny should have known better; meanwhile, talking map = funny and brilliant piece of magic.
Fred and George fucked around with a parchment that coached them how to reveal enchantments on it and nothing happened to them. How the hell was an 11yo girl supposed to assume her talking diary was nefarious??? She lives in a literal world of magic where letters scream at you and mirrors offer encouragement and grooming tips. Why the fuck *wouldn't* a magical diary offer sympathy and soothing words, friendship and camaraderie??
I have to step off this soap box, I could ramble on forever, so I'll part with these words - JKR did Ginny dirty

Okay TV weddings are cute and all but name a more iconic wedding scene than Will and Elizabeth Turner’s cause they were literally married by the man who kidnapped the bride and killed the groom’s dad, WHILE killing sea creature-people things and while reciting their vows to each other and their witnesses along with the psychopathic officiant were two other previously undead freaks who tried to kill her the first time they met her and a fucking immortal monkey.
And don’t even get me started on the way he spun her like they were dancing. That. Was. Everything.
You can’t get weddings like those on sitcoms.

Remember that time J.K. Rowling was like, “Ginny Weasley is the seventh daughter of the seventh daughter which is extremely important in folklore so just wait because she’ll do some pretty impressive things!”
And so after the last book was published, an interviewer was like, “So…about that whole seventh daughter of the seventh daughter thing?”
And J.K. Rowling was just like, "Ahaha whoops!”
In conclusion, Ginny Weasley deserved better.

And suddenly, it was all over - The Potter
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When love still lives but life forces you to understand that this is not everything, and that unlike what everyone says, love does not overcome everything, you can say that perhaps you are closer to understanding what this feeling really means than before.
Harry needs to do something, perhaps his greatest proof of love, even if it is contradictory.

During OOTP
Harry: AND YOU WORTHLESS BEST FRIENDS DIDN’T WRITE TO ME! YOU-
Ginny: Hey Harry!
Harry: Hi Ginny! Love your hair!
Harry: I DIDN’T WANT ANYONE TO TALK TO ME!
Ginny: Well that was a bit stupid of you.
Harry: You’re right you piece of angel.
Harry: I WANT TO TALK TO SIRIUS!
Ginny: Chocolates?
Harry: Yes please. They look like your eyes.
Harry: WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?! DID I ASK-
Ginny: There’s no need to take that tone with me.
Harry: You’re absolutely right my future wife.
Meanwhile everyone:
