DIY - How to Plasterboard?
Are you planning to renovate or restore your residential area? If yes, then the best way is to use plasterboard. However, it is not that simple to learn the skill of installing plasterboard. In order to do the job yourself you should have a good understanding about the basics.

Things you will need:
Screws
Bolster Chisel
Drill
Spirit level
Tape measure
Plaster scrim tape
Craft knife
What you’ll need to do:
1. First of all, take accurate measurement of the sheets. It should be not more than 12mm when measured from the floor to ceiling height.
2. Now draw a cutting line on the ivory face of the plasterboard. Use a straight edge and craft knife to cut along the marked line.
3. Turn over the plasterboard surface and bend its end over itself. Then, mark a cut along the paper backing using a craft knife.
4. While fitting the plasterboard on the frame make sure to get help from someone. It can be difficult for you to do it yourself. Now fit the bolster chisel at the bottom of the board using a wedge. Move a piece of wood under the board and press it down using your foot. Just press it hard against the ceiling. After it you can install the drywall with ivory facing outwards.
5.Use 32 mm screws at a gap of 150mm to install the plasterboard. Keep the screws at 15 mm distance from the edges. Repeat the process to install the entire board against the side walls and at the top of the doorway.
6. Use a screw plasterboard to install around a skirting board.
7. Use a plasterboard tape to cover the joints and get a smooth finish.

You’ll require the following things: Dust sheet, Club hammer, Spirit level, Bolster chisel, Saw, Wire brush, Gauging trowel, Protective gloves, Plaster hawk, Pad saw, Clout nails, Craft Knife, Plasterboard, Batten, Bucket, Screwdriver and so on.

1. First patch up the damaged surface to get a smooth finish at the end. Start by removing any loose substance on the area using a bolster chisel. To clean the surfaces with brickwork use wire brush.
2. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for mixing the new plaster. When you find that it is sufficiently creamy and thick turn it onto a moistened board. Place it on a trowel and fill the patch evenly. Hold the trowel at a moderately horizontal angle near the wall.
3. After covering the surface with plaster smooth it using a trowel. Leave it to dry for about 45 minutes. Repeat this process and after 20-30 minutes splash cold water on the surface. Again use a damp trowel on the surface for a smooth finish.
4. Use a piece of plasterboard to fill a patched hole. Just fix it using a panel adhesive glue and leave it to dry.
5. When it comes to fixing damaged corners on small areas. First remove any loose plaster and materials. Install a 25mm x 75mm batten on one side of the corner using masonry nails. Just moisten the damaged area and fill the small/large patches with plaster. Once it is set take off the batten and fix it again on the recently plastered side. Use an abrasive paper to give a smooth finish to the corner.
