My main reason for loving deaf!Alex is that I just like disabled hcs and I think a rock drummer with an anxiety disorder who copes by loudly playing drums would absolutely have major hearing damage, tinnitus, and recurring ear pain
My other reason is that he’s a snarky prick and I think he would absolutely love being able to look people in the eyes and turn his hearing aids off so they know for a Fact that he’s actively ignoring them

Okay but headcanon that Luke starts to realise he’s aroace from watching Willie and Alex interact, and it immediately sets him into ‘oh fuck I don’t wanna think about that’ mode. So he tries to start writing a couple of love songs to try and overcompensate, but he just gets more and more frustrated over his inability to understand and express romantic love
After he’s given up on like five song ideas, each one putting him in a weirder mood, Alex gets him to sit down and tell him what’s been going on. And they just spend a couple hours talking about attraction, until Luke slowly starts to realise that the only attractions he feel towards people are platonic and aesthetic

And she's mad (can't blame her she had the right to) and she says Luke only cares about himself
He looks SO SAD
But also
Alex and Reggie's reaction?
How they know IMEDIATLY that this affected him?
Just got me thinking
Julie kinda called him selfish
What if... that's something his parents used to say? (I'M SO SORRY THIS IS SAD)
But like
Mitch and Emily didn't aprove the band and basically Luke's dreams but he keeps playing music (and he's right you shouldn't stop doing what you love dear)
But just imagine they said Luke only cares about himself during their fights?
Imagine if that's something that got stuck to Luke after he ran away and he was constantly thinking if he was being to selfish for wanting to chase his dreams?
And then Julie says the same thing
