The ancient world was full of textile masterpieces we can only imagine… but most of them have rotted away. So few of them have come down to us in these days that we think of metal and stone as the primary mediums for the oldest artworks. But there were tapestries and fabric work that would have rivaled the finest wrought gold and iron and the first cave paintings.

Hello friends I just wanted to make a quick post to let you know that the Kickstarter for the Safety Eye Snappers is back up!
Sorry for the brief post but I have a migraine atm so if you'd like more info you can read through the campaign at the link above or see my older post about the first campaign!
TLDR: We have the opportunity to fund what I think is one of the greatest inventions ever, a tool to help you secure safety eyes to your amigurumi. The Kickstarter is back up with a more realistic funding goal.
Disclaimer, of course, please make sure you understand how Kickstarter works; I'm not affiliated with this product or the team behind it, I haven't tried the product IRL, I get nothing from anyone who pledges through the links above, and I've already pledged myself :)

Draw badly. Write nonsensically. Embroider messily. Burn what you bake and cook. Get paint everywhere. Read half a book. Lose your mind for a bit. Plant things. Have faith in the process. Abandon 70 wood-carving projects. Get a kit and do some of it and never return to it. Get comfortable with sucking and losing motivation. Continue to create with reckless abandon.

I can’t tell you how much I love this artwork from ancient Egypt (the Middle Kingdom). People have been raising cattle and practicing animal husbandry for so long, that there is something almost inherently human about this scene.
Everyone in the field of veterinary medicine or agriculture knows the feeling of staying up late with a laboring animal trying to make sure both mom and baby are okay. Delivering a calf is often physically and emotionally exhausting work that takes enormous patience and learned skill. It requires a unique balance of physical strength and gentleness to do correctly. There is no feeling quite like getting that baby out and everyone is okay. I’m certain ancient people must have felt the same way, and I wonder if the artist knew this feeling firsthand. I wonder if those humans depicted were people the artist knew, if the cow and calf maybe were as well.

Love this 1820 home in Wingdale, NY. It has 4bds, 2ba, and the asking price is $695K.

Cozy living room. Look at the ancient fireplace. This is wonderful.
Tumblr media
It's amazing to see a completely original home like this.

You cannot say that this kitchen is overly modernized. I love it so much.
Tumblr media
The photography for this home is terrible. This is a nice new shower, but I would've liked to have seen the older part- that sink is so interesting.

Going up to the bedrooms.

Very nice bedroom under the eaves. This home is so cozy.

This is the 2nd bath. They made it fit nicely into a small space.

I love this bedroom. The wallpaper, the bed and the wood stove.

Bedroom #3 has a bed snugly under the eaves.

And, bedroom #4 is moody and very restful looking.

Adorable little covered outdoor area.

Do you know the story of the 'Intifada Dresses'? 'Intifada Dresses' began to be made by the Palestinian women of Qalandiya camp and the villages of Al-Khalil during the first Intifada in 1987. When Palestinian flags were confiscated in protests against the Israeli occupation, which prevented raising any national symbols, women began to embroider motifs of explicit nationalism onto their thobes. These dresses could not be taken from their bodies, and thus became powerful visual expressions of protest.
