Between the bench scene and the last scene

TJ & Cyrus finally walk back inside, still in shock

They see Buffy & Marty on the dance floor and go over to them

Buffy and Cyrus look at each other and have a silent ***Well???? .......yES!?!? SAME I—!!!!!!! asdfghklsksjsk*** and then hug so tightly

Marty looks at TJ and is about to open his mouth to introduce himself for the 600th time when TJ says “hey! Marty, right? :)” and Marty is shocked but then is like “...yeah :)”

TJ leaves for a hot sec to go to the bathroom and runs into Jonah who’s like “hey dude— I didn’t know you played piano, you’re really good” and TJ goes “thanks man. You play guitar right? Haha maybe we should start a band” and walks away and Jonah’s like *... wait maybe we should lmao*

While this^ goes on Buffy and Marty are slow dancing but they’re both trying to lead and it’s so dumb and flirty

Andi and Amber are off in a corner talking and Amber’s like “I can’t believe that I ruined your first party... thanks for giving me a second chance... I’m lucky to have you as a friend” and Andi just smiles at her and says “we’re both lucky” and amber highkey starts to tear up and they hug

The party dies down, most people start to leave

Marty kisses Buffy on the cheek before he heads out and then she pulls him back and kisses him before literally shoving him out the door

Cyrus walks TJ to the street holding hands. They pause and TJ just goes “So... Talk to you tomorrow?” And Cyrus goes “yes” the same way he said it on the bench and TJ reels and takes both his hands and squeezes them in his own before turning and walking away

Cyrus waits until TJ is gone and allows himself to jump up and down and squeal for three seconds before abruptly calming down and going back to the house

Jonah and Buffy are laughing about something in the corner and throwing m&ms in each other’s mouths

Cyrus joins them, and they start playfully hurling m&ms at him until he begs them to stop

Andi is sitting outside, smiling through the door at all of them, her favorite people

Buffy notices Andi and they all go out to sit with her

Bowie sees all the kids outside, changes the music to something more chill, and takes Bex’s and Cece’s hands and they walk out to join them

Tyrus headcanon: TJ’s nervous thought process while being on the bench and the lead up to deciding to ask Cyrus “Is there anything you want to tell me?” While being nervous about wanting to hold his hand.

TJ feels relieved that he finally found out how toxic Kira was and dropped her. He goes to sit on the bench to contemplate all of his overwhelming thoughts and feelings brought on by the party when Cyrus approaches him and asks him if he can sit. Of course, TJ can’t say no to that face.

Instantly, TJ feels warmer when Cyrus sits beside him, but he blames it on the heat from the firepit.

Being honest about his name is like a test for what’s to come. He wants to see if he can actually do it or if he cowers out like he has before. Cyrus’s puppy dog eyes and his trusting smile are what convince him.

TJ is completely stunned when Cyrus says “I love that name.” He’s never had anyone say that before (besides his parents obviously). It makes him flush.

As they sit there, TJ notices how close their hands are. He wants nothing more than to reach forward and confidently take Cyrus’s hand in his own, but he’s still super nervous and afraid.

“Is there anything else you want to tell me?” // TJ has so much that he wants to tell Cyrus. He wants nothing more than to tell Cyrus just how much he cares about him, how special he is, how much TJ likes him. But his nerves continue to get the better of him, and he is only able to stammer out “Yeah.”

Being bold, he decides to ask Cyrus the same question. “Is there anything you want to tell me?” He inches his hand closer, a thousand thoughts racing through his mind, yet the only thing he can focus on is the boy sitting across from him.

Cyrus glances down as TJ’s fingers caress the top of his hand. For a second, TJ almost pulls back, worried that Cyrus doesn’t feel the same way about him and he’s screwing everything up–

Then, Cyrus says, “Yes,” A big grin lighting up his face.

When their hands finally intertwine, TJ can’t help but exhale. All of his worries and fears evaporate off of him. All that’s left is Cyrus, who TJ stares at like he’s hung the stars.

All TJ can think about is the feeling of Cyrus’s palm against his, the feeling of their fingers laced together, the complete joy he feels and him and Cyrus beam at each other. Nothing has ever made TJ feel so whole.
