Getting bucked from his horse miles into the forest and left in the rain wasn’t how he’d expected the day to go. Some may be able to find the sunshine in every situation, but Dwyer wasn’t one of those people. That, and with the sun currently blotted out against a grey cloudscape, he wasn’t sure if even the most positive of people could either. With his stave still tucked in a saddle bag now probably back in the stables with his mutinous steed, he had no way to take care of the scrapes and bruises he was sporting. Not a big issue, but certainly mildly irksome.
While still out in the open, the rain had already began falling, the sky predicting a torrential downpour soon enough. It would be inadvisable to head back to the castle; a literal uphill battle with the added danger of rockslides if the storm was particularly nasty. And being unarmed, Dwyer wasn’t about to take the treacherous path until daylight. The one good bit of luck was the fact that there was a fort somewhere in the area. Abandoned thought it was, the prospect was better than nothing.
He had a good sense of direction, and set off immediately, foregoing the main road to take a more discreet path. It was more laborious, but it was either that or risk being ambushed by the shady figures that settled out here and stalked for unsuspecting victims.
The foliage overhead did some to help keep him dry, but by the time Dwyer finally reached the fort, he was cold and tired. Pushing past the entrance, he felt a chill run through him. It was dark, drafty and poorly kept. Not unlike his home in the deeprealms. Looking it over, he realized, it reminded him more of home that the castle did. “Home away from home..” Murmuring to himself, Dwyer swept along the building, cautiously checking to see if anyone else had taken residence in the fort.
But all was quiet. Aside from the rain coming in through broken windows, splattering against stone, the only other noise was the rumble of thunder following flashes of lightning. Leaning against the edge of a low alcove, Dwyer tossed aside his sopping mantle, the short cloak doing nothing to keep him warm. As he settled against his hiding place, he let his thoughts wander, wondering if his father had noticed if he’d failed to return.
But his musing was cut short. Dwyer hadn’t noticed the stranger enter, the only notice of his presence from the impatient tsk the other uttered. But he realized soon enough that it was Zero, a comrade by default. Though he wasn’t particularly pleased, at least it wasn’t a complete stranger.
Tumblr media
“Absolutely remarkable weather. Nothing gets past you, does it.” Returning the other’s scathing gaze, Dwyer did nothing to indicate that he’d be getting back up anytime soon. “And Zero, what a.. surprise.” Far from pleasant, but he wouldn’t say that aloud. But what he did say wasn’t particularly polite either. “And just what have I done to receive the honor of your presence?”
@gentilhxmme | Starer Call
   Slick, damp fingers wrapped tightly around the drenched fabric of his dark hood, yanking it up over his head unceremoniously. Silver locks already plastered to his rough skin, and every piece of his clothing might have well been glued to his body, making the effort it took to pull his hood up mostly worthless. Leaving the nearly permanent frown apparent upon his dark features, as he continued to trek through the thick layer of mud and slush that now made up the formerly dirt path he had been following. Boots sinking into the watery earth, and coating their fabric in grime.
     Storms weren’t a rarity in Nohr; they were quite common, but there was never anything one could do to prepare for the country’s often very sudden, and extreme downpours. And Zero, even with his cautious personality was no exception. With the skies above dark more often than not, the storm had offered little to no warning, and now he was stuck, trudging down a path he had used a million times before on far nicer days with clothes so wet he could feel the rain through to his very bones.
     So much for the task he had been assigned. As clever as he may be, tracking a few dirty merchants through a storm was both impossible and a waste of time. They were lowly criminals, and posed no threat to the general public, but their backhanded deals had been causing a stir among the citizens of Nohr. While the outlaw would have thoroughly enjoyed hunting the group down, and riding the country of them to ease the mind of Nohr’s young prince, he also wasn’t willing to sit through the lecture that was very likely to follow such actions if Lord Leo learned he had done so in the middle of an awful storm. He supposed he could let them live one more day.
       Dismissing the cracking of thunder, and the bright surges of lightning dancing across the dim sky, he dragged himself out of the forest. If he recalled correctly, there was an abandoned fort hidden somewhere in the rocky slopes that expanded out beyond the trees. Though, he had only been there once, and very briefly during the war, it had since lost its value, and Nohr lacked the resources to continue maintaining when it no longer served any strategic purpose. And without much thought, his feet were able to trace the uneven, slippery route to the crumbling building with ease.
    Slipping through the cracked, rotten door, it took a moment for his lone eye to adjust to the deep darkness that covered the interior of the almost empty fort. With fingers lifting to pull down his drenched hood, a golden iris expanded to absorb the shadowy figure tucked away within the shelter the old building provided. Tongue clicking against the roof of his mouth in mild annoyance, he took a step forward in order to make out a handful of details about the other. Taking only a moment to realize it was the son of one of the draconic prince’s glorified servants.
Tumblr media
    Heaving a sigh, he cursed his awful luck for only a moment. “Lovely weather, isn’t it?” He forced out for lack of anything better; it wasn’t as if he knew the other well at all. To be frank, if he didn’t make it his job to be privy to everything (and one) that surrounded his lord, he likely wouldn’t have even known the kid for all of the times they had had the chance to interact.

Tea Etiquette
@shrinkingmaiden
When in Hoshido, do as the Hoshidans do. He’d picked up, or rather been drilled on, the proper way to host afternoon tea in Hoshidan custom. That hadn’t been excruciatingly difficult. He was patient, and sitting quietly and drinking tea were non existent on his list of most disliked pastimes. In fact, he’d enjoyed the process of learning about the ceremony. There seemed to be a number of different ways to serve tea, depending on the context and time. That and the attention to detail that had to be put into every little thing was vastly more complicated compared to what fare he usually had to deal with. Perhaps that bit was troubling.
But today he was on his typical playing field. Serving tea in Nohrian style, though to royalty of the opposing kingdom. A special request, one he wasn’t sure why his father wouldn’t be able to carry out. But if it meant that he’d have a point up on Jakob, Dwyer was more than willing to take up the task.
Having set up the table with food and all of the other trimmings, he absentmindedly straightened a wrinkle on the linen tablecloth. As he gave the setup one last once over, he noticed a movement in the corner of his eye. It seemed that she’d arrived. Bowing slightly, he greeted the princess.
Tumblr media
“Welcome Lady Sakura. I’ve laid out a selection of loose leaf if you’d like to select the tea.”

♖ { remember that comic?? yeah,,, let's say that was the nightmare
♖ comforting after a nightmare
Shigure was the one that called late at night, asking to come over. But what Dwyer hadn’t anticipated was that he was the one that was getting help. His phone was what woke him up from a nightmare, one so unbelievable but so real, his hands had been shaking when he mindlessly picked up his mobile.
His voice must have betrayed how shaken he was, because in the next minute, Shigure was knocking at his door, asking to be let in. After a moment’s hesitation, Dwyer opened the door, and here they were now, sitting on a couch together.
He wasn’t quite ready to talk about anything yet, but he did appreciate the other’s presence.

♘ kiss on the forehead
Losing wasn’t something the he was fond of. And to lose a game with such high stakes. Now this was troubling. But rules were rules, and the cafe went all out when a customer and waiter were playing these kinds of games. Tossing aside his losing hand of cards, Dwyer conceded defeat. He rarely lost, and to lose twice in a row..
“Seems like you meant business?” Leaning over, he ran a finger along Shigure’s jaw, smirking lightly as he did. He moved closer, hovering by the corner of the other’s mouth. Murmuring, he ghosted by. “Well, so was I.”
Pushing aside the other’s bangs, he lightly placed a kiss on Shigure’s forehead.

♦ { it can be shigure holding him -- i just need bridal style pick ups ;w;
♦ picking up your character
Never in his life had Dwyer entertained the idea that he’d be picked up so easily and carried in a bridal style. He wanted so desperately to cover his face, but his hands were currently looped around the other’s neck, and letting go meant that he was going to fall.
But he did try protesting. “I said I was tired, not dying.” Truth be told, he was both. Being dragged along on a hike had been the last thing he’d wanted to do, but it was that or listen to Shigure’s pleading for the rest of his life. And his weak will was paying the price.

✍ my muse  teaching your muse
Dwyer looked around a bit helplessly at the absolute mess in his kitchen. Flour over his and the other’s aprons, even some on the celling. The ingredients for a cake over countertops and floors, anywhere but the mixing bowl. It was incredible how something as simple as a cooking lesson had gone south so quickly.
Wiping off a bit of cream from his face, Dwyer put his palms together.
“Well. We know what not to do now. How about we try again? But this time, not let go of the hand mixer, yes?”

☺☮ - Bakugou
☺ my muse helping your muse fall asleep
For someone who liked napping so much, Dwyer had trouble falling asleep when he actually needed to. Insomnia was in part to blame for the eternally tired expression on his face, for the dark circles under his eyes.
But the presence of someone next to him seemed to help him fall asleep. Something he’d probably never figured out since he’d usually never let someone get this close.
Head leaning against the other’s shoulder, Dwyer dozed.
☮ stroking/ruffling hair
“This isn’t helping.” Miffed, Dwyer scowled slightly as his already messy hair was run through again. But it was only partly true. He didn’t mind that Bakugou was messing with his hair. But he did have to at least pretend that he was annoyed. Otherwise, he’d never hear the end of it.

♦ picking up your character
Pursing his lips, Dwyer sighed. Clumsy was one thing. But this was more borderline reckless than anything. Scraped knees, bruises no doubt forming, this girl was rowdy.
But leaving her on the ground to stumble to her feet wasn’t gentlemanly at all. Looping her arm over his shoulder, Dwyer helped her to her feet, and hefted her up in a bridal carry. He hoped she didn’t mind too much.
“Pardon me..”

At Bakugou’s name, Dwyer briefly wondered how the two knew each other. The other had distinct enough features to remember from even a brief mention, but he was completely unfamiliar. He was however, a bit curious as to how the stranger knew him. But work first, questions later.
He already had the menu down to memory, so he flitted through the items before coming up with a few suggestions.
Tumblr media
“Our parfaits are popular during the summertime. There’s a variety you can pick from there. Or a tart?” Never one to hesitate when he had a question, Dwyer forged on. “And what was that about Bakugou? He’s charming isn’t he. Though, I don’t believe he’s here at the moment.”
@gentilhxmme
 Out of a whim, Shouto decided to check out the local cafes and somehow he ended up at the maid cafe. He was honestly quite surprised with interior and the menu was quite interesting, as he had never been to a cafe like this one before.
Tumblr media
 A waiter approached him, but he didn’t look up from the menu as he was still baffled at what to order. Maybe he should’ve took Midoriya along, his friend would definitely have known what to order. Well, it was too late now and the man before his table was standing there waiting. Shouto finally looked up and came face-to-face with someone he’s only ever heard and read about from Midoriya and his notebook.
 “Oh. You’re Bakugou’s.. Nevermind. What would you recommend here?”

Dwyer wondered if the other was used to having near death experiences. That or he took embarrassing situations into stride. It seemed likely that experiences like these were frequent occurrences in the stranger’s life. Or at least, if this entire fiasco was any indication.
Breathing in slowly, Dwyer wondered how he’d ended up being blessed enough to be waiting this man’s table. He picked up the empty glass, deciding not to look at the stranger while silently judging him. Blinking back to attention when the other started talking, Dwyer let him prattle on, hiding the smirk that threatened to spill over.
Tumblr media
“Not to worry. I’m trying to forget the past 3 minutes of my life. I haven’t felt so much second hand embarassment in my life.” And as for sharing this particular piece of work with the rest of the staff, well. He was sure that they’d been able to witness the entire thing first hand by the commotion the other had caused.
“Aw, hey, thanks.”  The waiters rude remark didn’t seem to stick to him, or else he was too focused on the water to notice it was even said.  Taking the glass offered to him, Keaton threw back the liquid in two big gulps.  He let out a sigh and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand.  Clearly he didn’t notice that his waiter was close to snapping his neck for his negligence.  It wasn’t his fault no one told him the coffee cake was going to be as dry as the Mojave desert during the mid-summer.
Granted, he should’ve defnitely guessed his drink would be hot considering…he’d ordered a hot drink.  No one thinks straight during emergency situations!  Especially situations where you can’t breathe correctly.  His life had most definitely flashed before his eyes and he wasn’t sure if he wanted to die immediately seeing his many fuck ups replay in his brain.  After giving himself a moment to regain his composure Keaton coughed into his hand.
Tumblr media
“So, what just happened there…that doesn’t leave this room.  No one can know about that, you hear me?  When you go back there to tell your coworkers stories about how agonizing it can be to serve some of your customers you definitely leave me out of the conversation.”

His brows furrowed, Dwyer sighed at his mistake. He could either be irritated at the maid for not speaking up sooner, at the one who’d dragged her into the kitchen in the first place, or in an entirely alternate route, blame himself.
Tumblr media
“I suppose we’ve had worse happen.” But he was a bit curious. He wasn’t aware of any other cafes like this one in the city. Unless..
“You don’t happen to be, an actual maid?” Running over his brief impression of the other, Dwyer wasn’t sure if she was exactly, cut out for the profession. “You seem a bit. Clumsy to say the least.”
❅ | Ashamed and embarrassed, Felicia was lead back to the kitchen by the same butler that had given her the drink. She couldn’t help the pout on her face. After all, this wouldn’t have happened if they had confused her for a maid! Then again…I could have refused…, Felicia thought.
Tumblr media
 “I don’t. Like I said, I don’t work here! I was simply coming back from my job when one your butlers came and grabbed me!” She complained as she continued to dry the stains on her dress.
