drives me up the fucking wall to watch people reinvent gender essentialism over and over. "only girls can feel [complex idea]" "girls are just better in this way" "girls you get this" those will never be true. There will ALWAYS be someone who does not id as a girl that does fit into whatever statement you're making and there will always be a girl who doesn't. you aren't helping anyone!! and sometimes you're just reinforcing forms of misogyny you don't even notice!!
"Only girls feel this way about gender" REALLY?!? REALLY. REALLY? Ah yes the mythical girl who is above all others simply for being a specific gender... some would call that a pedestal, where have I heard that before? oh wait feminism 101 wow

every time I get really stressed out about political tumblr drama (just the idea of getting dragged into it by people I follow) I remember the time I was lowkey accused of stalking someone's blog because they replied to my sideblog and didn't know my main (I didn't advertise it at the time but I didn't like try to hide it or anything, they never asked). So they jumped to the conclusion that I was feverishly checking their blog

I don't post on this sideblog as much as I used to because I haven't felt the need for it so much, but I'm so upset right now
I see people using antisemitic talking points against israel, israelis, and jews and I'm so frustrated, ashamed of the people that are supposed to be on the side of freeing palestine but who can't see how horrible they're being. It's so infuriating, I just want to scream at them at how hypocritical and ignorant they are. freedom for all, not whoever you think deserves it most right now
And then I see people calling anything antisemitic, and some of them are jews that I've learned so much from. They've shown me all of these talking points, and then they go and call something antisemitic that has nothing to do with anything. They aren't sharing free palestine posts, they make jokes at palestine's expense and just tear down anything that agrees with palestine even when it doesn't imply anything against israelis or jews. they offer no explanations like other times when there's something to genuinely criticize.
It feels like everyone is only looking to be right instead of doing the right thing. Blindsided. Stuck in their bubble. I block and unfollow so many narrow minded people these days. People calling jews nazis, people mocking palestinians.
it's almost like social media is full of normal people who just. don't actually fucking care. And I'm not articulated enough to argue with any of them. I just see the flaws in their arguments without the right words. So I'm venting here. Hoping someone else can find the words. Because I can't handle it
real people are dying. antisemitism is on the rise. both are true. both need help, but neither need to tear each other down.

I have no illusions that this will change policy, but the public outcry against their actions must continue.
