monkey man (2024)
feel free to change as needed.
there are no fucking rules!
this is a sacred space.
that's the smell of victory right there.
you hear that? they fucking hate you.
don't spend it all at once.
there's hundreds of folks out there waiting to take your place if this isn't for you.
i leave politics to the politicians.
make it a double.
i don't want charity.
we don't just hire off the street.
look, i don't have time for all this.
give me the job no one wants to do.
you're gonna thank me for this one day.
watch my fucking leg.
you like john wick?
i want something small but effective.
okay, okay. don't cry.
i have a reputation to protect, understand?
i need you to learn some manners.
good stuff, okay? none of that cheap shit.
you. face the wall.
does it look like i need help from someone like you?
you want to make some money?
kill him, boy!
eyes to the ground unless someone calls you.
come on, brother.
let's boogie.
seat belt, buddy.
what happened to your hands?
they're all up there living, and we're stuck here in this.
that's no life.
that's red wine. this is a white wine glass.
tell me more about your trip, baby.
little birdie wants to fly away, do you?
you are not like the other girls.
i'll treat you like an angel.
we can fuck right here.
there you go. there you go. that's it.
every day, i would wake up to them singing.
stop feeding that dog. it's gonna keep coming back expecting more.
i nearly finished it all waiting for you.
who the fuck are you, you little rat?
what were you thinking?
you're awake. finally.
some people find that strange.
you should've died from those injuries.
we all have scars.
the police are looking for you.
stay with us. rest.
just some crazy kid from the gutter.
and that is why she ran away with the priest.
i never sleep.
i was once like you.
you need to destroy in order to grow.
it's time to remember who you are.
this is your home. you have nothing to fear.
i am nobody. i am nothing.
change never comes without a fight.
we cannot pay off some thugs.
i'll fuck your happiness.
hey, smartass.
anger will not quiet your soul.
don't call me "son."
my chariot is here.
only god can forgive you now.

tagged by: Nobody, it's just been a bit since I did one of these
tagging: Take it from me, I don't care
alias / name: Ace or Lyka
birthday: December 19th
zodiac sign: Sagittarius
height: About 5'4"
hobbies: That implies I do things, which I don't. In theory I like reading, writing, and drawing. I also like to take walks, and in true NJ fashion, I'm occasionally a bit of a mall rat
favorite color: Blues, Greens, Teals, Reds, Greys...
favorite book: I'm not sure I have a single favorite book. Different books speak to me at different times.
last song: Soulmate - Lizzo
last film / show: Dogma. On a little bit of a Kevin Smith kick
inspiration: Friends, if I knew what inspired me then my input would surely be far greater than this, don't you think? But honestly? I get inspired by music and also just things I do and see in the real world give me ideas.
story behind url: It's just a misspelling of Orin's last name lol Or well, sory of. Since his actual last name is taken as a url by someone else I picked one that's very visually similar
fun fact about me: I was born in the same hospital as Bruce Springsteen. Idk if that's totally fun, but well, now you know. Truthfully, I'm kinda uninteresting, and I like it that way.

"The one and only," he replied, flashing a friendly grin in the other's direction though he couldn't help letting his gaze linger for a few moments on all the women that hovered around. He was first and foremost interested in forming an alliance, but some attention from beautiful women wouldn't be a terrible fringe benefit. "Or well, I guess not the only one, but I bet I'm one of the few actually worth remembering," he added with a laugh, hoping the joke would go over well. Given his track records the odds were 50/50, but given Gordy's gambling habits, those weren't the worst odds he'd bet on.
Gordy took the seat that was offered, attempting to arrange his limbs in a way that he hoped read as confident. That question was...entirely fair, and unfortunately, not one he could easily answer. The truth of the matter was that Gordy did a little bit of everything. Hoping something would finally come naturally to him, or at least, feel like it did, but so far he'd had no real luck in that arena.
Of all the things he'd inherited from his family, a knack for illegal dealings was not among them. But he wasn't about to say that. Besides, maybe sticking close to the Duke would improve his luck.
"I do a bit of everything. Depends on what needs to get done, but mostly I deal in separating trusting people from their money."
EVEN AS THE DUKE DISMISSES HIMSELF , he knows this isn't the last he will see of Gordy what'shisname . No , he's very much ensured himself of that the second card was handed out to him and invitation extended . No one turns down an invite coming from the Duke of Monroth , after all . As the self proclaimed admirer the other is , then it would likely be considered an honor to be in the duke's presence .
Security still does their job in looking to the duke when the lad eagerly offers up a wave , and nod of approval is given to allow the man to pass the velvet rope . He sits up from barrier of arms of adoring women who are likely as eager as Gordy is to get their hands on him in some capacity , and he waves them off to at least ease up on the groping .
" Gordy , is it ? " he repeats the name if only to remind himself of it , rather than the feigned introduction he's displaying to the girls sitting on either side of him . " Tell me , " hand motions at the man to take a seat across from him at the half circled booth , " --- What is it that you do around here ? " .
