Though the path may be steep and winding, the reward at the end is something worth striving for. The Company Man Features Wacky Storyline The company man follows the story of Jim, a new hire at the Good Water Company who must prove himself in order to get promoted. The Company Man is an interactive game in which its wacky humor is the centerpiece. This clearly became very apparent right off the bat. The visual art style combined with the crisp animations immediately captures your attention. The Company Man also utilizes a Banjo-Kazooie/Animal Crossing type of voice acting, making it instantly distinguishable from other games. Mix of Platformer and RPG Like other action platforming heroes, Jim gets the job done by jumping and shooting around (or at least trying to shoot around) everything that gets in his way. It feels like a mix between Zero’s sections in Mega Man X4 and Rayman Legends, with Jim rarely taking a break from getting things done as soon as possible. The company man uses common gaming tropes like ice levels and gives them a corporate twist. The game’s hub world is the office building's lobby where Jim can use specific coffee coupons to upgrade his abilities. Early on in the game, pick up some Sarawak Beans so you can heal your party members while exploring different areas. Constant Upgrades Jim's been upgraded constantly since release and has an eclectic range of both melee and ranged attacks. A lot of battles involve learning the patterns for each enemy, which might take some time to figure out. Stunning Visuals Full of stunning visuals and an intriguing story, The Company Man is a great platformer for those who love the genre. Just watch out for the quick reaction times required to complete challenges and easier difficulties. The game doesn't have collectibles or power-ups, which might seem a bit dull.
