In these last few posts I’ve been trying to show how Gabe pulls together all visual elements into a single amazing show. Video, lights, lasers, pyro - he designs so that everything you see is as one and the entire visual experience is cohesive, coordinated and CRAZY
I actually want to know how he controls the pyro because obviously you can’t do it directly from the lighting desk there must be some kind of secondary control system, but it’s so in sync he must either leave a window open or be reeally on point at enabling it
People don’t realise what a ubiquitous career Gabe had (and still has!) outside of Team Garrix. He’s able to put amazing amounts of subtlety into concert lighting because he’s been through all the disciplines that require subtlety. Garrix music is powerful and punchy and could easily be lit by someone much less skilled than him. But he’s able to add that extra touch and make each and every design something beautiful in its own right.
In my opinion this is one of his best designs ever. I think it deserves to be seen.
