" There was no abruptness to the embrace she gently pulls him into; her movements all fluid yet slow.. as though she were giving him some sort of chance to reject it. Instead a noise of relieved contentment clicks at the back of his throat as her chin tucks over his shoulder, a moment of hesitation following with his arms dangle stiffly at her sides before finally winding around the small of her waist securely. His palm slides across her back to press her in tighter into his chest, dark gaze slipping closed as he holds her carefully in her fragile state.

It was just the way of things now.. he reminded himself. Maggie was resilient in her own respect but even in his short time knowing the Greenes, it had become glaringly apparent that Beth was more the optimist than her sister. Everyone had their limit. He’d overheard more than enough conversations–bickering at times to understand that the weight of the world had more tendency to land on Maggie’s shoulders. It was her stubbornness that kept her from cracking beneath it. Although he couldn’t imagine the youngest Greene finding any bright side to having her own mother nearly bite her face off.. or be slaughtered right in front of her.

There was something in her bare vulnerability that causes that nagging tug within the hollows of his chest; a sensation he was slowly becoming more familiarized with despite his efforts. When she'd hugged him after nearly being drug into that horde he'd mowed down, it had been frantic and clinging; it was all fear. This was different. It was more a plea than an embrace at all, like she was begging him to hold her together. Roman swallows roughly and for a brief moment presses his mouth and nose down to the dip of her shoulder; a small warranted act of affection that’s fleeting before he nods and his deep baratone mumbles gruff but gentle to her.

“It’s gon be alright, Mags..”

He knew there was nothing remotely alright with the situation, he knew that she along with her family and Carol would all be sporting emotional scars from the massacre. But Roman was also aware, far more than he should’ve been, that what had happened was something they’d likely have to witness over and over again. Seeing that little girl walk out of the barn had reestablished the sense of hopelessness that came with the act of enduring..

Roman knew enduring far before the dead started wandering the earth in search of flesh and blood.

He thinks of Darius sitting next to him in the Bentley at that head shop, laughing not seconds before his brains got blown out in the drive-by that had shifted Roman’s entire outlook on life. There was something about having one of your boy's blood and brain matter splattered all over you that changed your perspective around a bit.. loosened a few screws.

There was something about watching half your crew get bombed in the streets; boys he'd rode with for years just... gone in a split second. There was something altering in seeing the rest of them so grief stricken and driven mad with it that they turned their guns on each other in acts of desperation and misdirected blame.

Roman pulls away slightly, his dark gaze shifting in search of her's and he swallows again at the sadness lingering behind it, his throat bobbing past the knot forming. Everyone had their limits.

“Your ma would be glad that thing ain’t got her body no more… wasn’t her. Know y'know that.” He mumbles again and searches for a sign of understanding. His brows furrowing as he nods at her. “It’s gon be alright.” He repeats reassuringly, exhaling from his nose in a quick breath as his palm presses into her back to bring her back against his chest in another more firm embrace and sways her gently in his hold.

He didn’t know how much comfort he was capable of, but if comfort was what she was needing from him.. he could give her that.

The Walking Dead: Aki and Alden

"Ain't no way.. I wasn't gon' make it back here to.. see that pretty face one more time."

{ While Rick, Shane and Daryl are out "looking for Randall", TDogg finds Roman in the woods limping back to the farmhouse with two stab wounds to the gut and brings him back to Hershel and Maggie to stitch him up. He explains that Shane, who's gone off the deep end, stabbed him and left him to turn with the intention of killing Rick too. Roman, half out of it from blood loss, slips up and says more than he should to Maggie. }

"Carl! You were supposed to stay with Sophia," Lori's eyes narrowed as she and Shane looked down at her son who had walked over to her side brandishing a small bit of tin foil shaped into a wrinkly crane. "Where did you get that?"

"Aki showed us how to make it," he said with a grin, "and she taught Sophia how to make a frog too--"

"--woah woah, Aki?" Lori shook her head in confusion, looking to Shane for any sign of recognition but he seemed just as confused. Sure, there were quite a handful of people at their camp but after a week she thought they had a handle on who a lot of them were, and between them Shane had been rather vigilant. Carl rolled his eyes.

"Hey, attitude kiddo," Shane interjected at the gesture.

"Sayaka. The girl with the red coat?" The boy said, pointing over to where indeed a young woman with a crimson jacket tied around her waist sat beside Sophia, folding scraps of thin material into a collection of animals, flowers, and crumpled balls of nothing. "She said we could call her that. Like a nickname." Carl was rather generous in his explanation, as the reality of 'saying that' was in fact a short gesture to herself and a soft tone that uttered two syllables. Aki.

OCs DESERVE BETTER -> Nico Sanchez (The Walking Dead) FC: Pedro Pascal "It used to be a joke down at the station - what we would do if the apocalypse suddenly broke out. None of us expected it to actually happen."

A former marine turned career firefighter, Nico Sanchez tended to keep to himself when he wasn't down at the fire station. The only exception was his next door neighbor, Peyton. Having been injured during a fire call, leaving him with a permanent leg injury that had occasional flare ups, he found himself withdrawing from just about everyone that wasn't Peyton or one of his fellow firefighters. Then he finds a pair of juveniles knocking at his door at midnight, drenched from rain, mistaking his house for Peyton's. And somehow, he finds himself bonding with them - especially the youngest, Danny. Through this, he finds himself slowly coming out of his self-imposed seclusion.

When his station is dispatched to a call involving multiple gunshot wounds, including an officer, he doesn't think anything of it - until he realizes the officer is Peyton's friend, Rick Grimes. Not having much to do with patient care, he ends up being requested to drive the ambulence to the hospital while the EMT's work to stablize and save Grimes' life. Through Peyton, he gets updates on how Grimes is doing - and finds out he is in consideration from the eldest kid, Jackson, as a potential guardian for Danny while Jackson leaves to figure his life out.

Which is partially how he ends up running from the dead with Danny in tow. Ideally, the duo planned to find Peyton and reconnect with her, but had no luck - so it ends up just being them for awhile. Until they stumble upon a town called 'Woodbury'. Something about the town doesn't seem right to Nico, but wanting Danny to be safe, he puts those worries aside. But he still remains alert and ready to grab Danny and run first chance he senses danger.

I have gotten an urge and wanted to finally ask away about your Walking Dead ocs so heres the first ask of "many." SO!! What is Mina's relationship with her brother Glenn like? Are they close? How do they navigate through the apocalypse together?

Finally answering these... at least, some of them, I'm hoping.

Mina and Glenn are close! He's her favorite (and only) younger brother. In canon, I think Glenn does have two older sisters, one of whom I made into Mina! Glenn follows Mina down south to Georgia after high school to get some distance from their parents' expectations, and they live together; Glenn, as a pizza delivery man while figuring out life and Mina, as a paramedic. Eventually, the city becomes too much, and Mina becomes a paramedic in nearby King County. The two are actually not together when everything goes down! Mina had been working overtime with all the calls and when Atlanta gets bombed she fears the worst. However, she swears she recognizes the voice that calls out to her and Rick when they're stuck inside the tank and sure enough its her beloved baby brother, alive and well!!! The two stick close for awhile after reuniting. I also headcanon they both speak fluent Korean and will sometimes converse in just Korean.
