RHLSTP #116: Paedophile Postman - Elis James.
It's the end of the series (but there will be bonus audio podcasts from the Great Yorkshire Fringe next week) and Richard is frankly astonished by the popularity of his final guest, given he has to literally check his name on a pad before introducing him, it's Elis James. Rich makes the Welshman feel at home by talking to him in his own language before discussing the famous people who've come from Carmarthen and the impact of the bridge over Blue Street. They compete to discover the worst hotel in Swansea and Elis wins by a toothbrush. Also find out how James' act has been ruined by Welsh football success, what we thought of the Ghostbusters controversy (I know that was a long time ago now) and who will have the funniest comedy hybrid child. And who is more oppressed, the Welsh or women? Or Welsh women? Plus Richard's attempt to get involved with Elis' next sitcom backfires spectacularly, but at least he has his awards speech all ready now.

Elis James and Katy Wix to star in Radio 2 sitcom
BBC Radio 2 is working on Ankle Tag, a new sitcom pilot about a man who is reunited with his imprisoned fraudster father.
Crims star Elis James will play Gruff, a new father whose own father, Bob, suddenly comes back into his life after a long absence.
The BBC explains: "Bob is a convicted fraudster, released from prison on licence, who wants to inveigle his way back into his estranged son's life (again through fraud). He's charming, optimistic and warm. People like him. That's why they gave him so much of their life savings."
Ankle Tag will also star Katy Wix as Gruff's wife, Alice. She is quite taken with the charming Bob, and fails to take note that he is using the skills he learnt as a fraudster to ingratiate himself with the family.
Details on which actor will play Bob have not yet been revealed.
Ankle Tag has been written by Benjamin Partridge and Gareth Gwynn. The Welsh writing duo have previously worked with Elis James on the BBC Radio Wales shows Here Be Dragons and Elis James' Pantheon Of Heroes.
The pilot episode will be recorded at the BBC Radio Theatre on Saturday 17th October. You can go here to apply for tickets to the recording!
