Considering it was originally alluded that anon had no reason to not be anon because we were all anon besides initials as means to differentiate who posted what, me, and what i would assume would be most people, felt it was a bit of a “I’ll show you mine if you show me yours,” and I’ve never particularly been too shy.
As for being able to find someone via google, holy shit, you are dense. We could be a blog who just posts things with no commentary, or even being positive in any given commentary, and either via copying and searching something we quoted from the original would reveal a source, as would reverse image searches. The joy of the power of the internet. You can also find the things we post by doing basic searches on our main sources (ie, dA) for COD OCs by any relevant tags. If someone wanted to really find the OPs, they certainly could without our help of sharing the content.
In relation to people coming forward, I know it to be a thing that occurs, as I have seen it innumerable times. On the plethora of blogs similar to ours, I saw on a daily basis people asking to have things removed because it was either theirs or their friends. When they were chill about it, things were taken down. When they were asshats, their shit stayed up. That simple. The only reason we prefer someone be off anon to ask to have something removed is so that we don’t have someone decide to be some crusader and have every single post removed.
As for responsibility, I have 0 issue with taking it. Lay it all at my feet, my dude. But you kinda did archive all of it for us. Not saying that’s reason enough to delete it. Again, my stance on that was clear. Just stating it as a fact for posterity’s sake.
But I’m bored with talking to a self righteous brick wall who thinks a blog with as little followers as this particular one (maybe it’s because we’re niche. maybe we’re just shit. who knows! who particularly cares!) will send those who do follow it after you. Or, at least, is determined to stand with it as an excuse. If you decide you wanna keep the conversation going, you can do as requested and speak privately like a couple of adults. Until then, peace out, my guy.
And I do apologize to the other mods and the followers we do have for all this.
Anyway, I’m going back to taking a break from here.

Did the other mod just kick up drama and leave you to deal with it? That's kind of shitty...
Alright, anon, Temporary off of hiatus because I got the notification for this. And considering I created this blog in the first place, I didn’t feel right ““leaving”“ it just because I have neither the time, energy, or any real desire to really keep it active right now (out of all the other blogs I run that have a few thousand followers between just a couple of em, this one isn’t  particularly my priority. Sorry)
The other mods wanted the posts deleted and the whole experience put behind us. So that’s what happened.
Since the original anon who wanted to stir up nonsense and even wanted to pull the whole “well you’re not revealing yourself so I’m not going to reveal myself either,” I posted my personal blog in case they wanted to take up anything about it. Which they never did (big bad anon wasn’t so big and bad after all). It still stands if you want to bring up anything with me personally, or about this blog to keep this blog specifically cleaned up of bullshit, I’ll never turn off my asks, messages, whatever.

And in case that post was deleted, because I’m not even going to bother to look, my main is @poeticpromise
Any questions, thoughts, nonsense, what have you can be directed there that isn’t related to OCs, the COD verse, or writing. I mean you can direct those to me too, but there’s no reason to pull relative traffic from here.

Under what evidence were you led to believe that if you came forward, with a request of privacy, that that privacy would not be respected? To my knowledge, we don’t even share the usernames of people who’s shit we post (unless maybe it was in the image like a watermark?). I endorse a lot of shit, but witch hunt bullshit not one of them (hell, we can all look at the instance involving reddit and the Boston bomber to know that that’s never a good idea). I’m pretty sure my revealing my main opens me up to considerably more harassment than you would be due to the content I actively post, wherein you’re just kind of someone not happy with what we post. I think about the worst that WOULD happen, were your identity be revealed, is you might get a lot of the navy seal copypasta in your inbox, tbh. But point stands that I wouldn’t be like “THIS IS THE GUY EVERYONE BE A PRICK TO THEM.”
I was not the one to delete the posts. I just didn’t argue about it in the group chat that I share with the other mods when it was decided to delete the posts. It made the others uncomfortable, at the very least because it was clutter, at the worst, one of the mods doesn’t like conflict. I figured let it stick around. It was to be expected to get shit for giving shit. That’s common sense. I’d have been surprised that it took so long to actually get some angry people coming on here if it weren’t for the fact that the fandom has such a tiny online presence despite the sales numbers behind the franchise. But it’s not an excuse. It’s reasoning. I bailed for a bit because I didn’t necessarily think it was right to delete criticism off a blog that’s, well, about criticism. But I’d barely been active anyway, and figured it wasn’t really my place to be an asshole and demand things be done my way from the people who I personally deem awesome, and not just for basically doing my job with this blog. They’re pretty cool people. But I digress.
If you want to believe that we’re a bunch of “hurr durr look at these losers online posting dumb shit DEAL WITH THE MEAN SHIT WE SAY” sort of trolls, it wouldn’t have been said multiple times that if someone sees something of theirs on here and wishes it removed, if they come to us civilly about it, we would remove it asap. We might not have any issue with being pricks, but it’s not really our default setting. It’s as simple as someone coming to us, off anon, and being like “Hey, this was my one OC you put on here can you remove it” and it would be gone with no problem (added note because apparently it has to be made obvious: without their identity being revealed). This blog started because of seeing other, similar blogs that I found pretty hilarious (First one I had seen being about bad Assassin Creed OCs). I fell in love with the concept of “faux extreme rage to the point of lulz” sort of criticism aimed at shitty characters and fics, figured no one else had done anything of the sort with this particular fandom (which I’d been pretty active in when the blog began), and so fybcodocs was born.
If you come forward off anon, you’re safe, and I will openly admit that you have made the decision to do as such without posting your url. Until then, you don’t really have credibility, my dude.

To the anon who sent something in yesterday, I think it is worth noting that the Mod who did what you are asking about is currently on hiatus from the blog. Right now, I -- Mod M -- am the only one running the page. I’ll leave it up to you if you would like me to take a stab at answering your ask, or if you would prefer to wait for the other mod to return and explain themselves.
Either way, please don’t think you’re being ignored! I’m just not sure what kind of answer you would prefer, since I can’t really speak for events I was not involved with.

Do you think it's bad when people write female characters in TF141? I've wanted to create a female character in TF141 and I was wondering if there's anyway to make it realistic? or if I should just avoid that
So long as the character’s parent organization accepts women, I personally see no issue in a female 141 operative in any capacity. She might not have come from the SAS or Rangers, for example, but there is a specific all-female Delta squad (Funny Platoon) that she could be on loan from, or several other military factions that are more inclusive. If you’d like a list of special forces that accept women, please feel free to return and I’ll help as best I can!
Ultimately, the military and governments that oversee them are a bit of a boy’s club, but there are still places for women in their ranks. Whether you’re making a front lines soldier or a character in a more supportive role, there is a way to write a female OC, and do it realistically! -- Mod M

since anon archived everything, we don’t feel the need to keep their asks on the page and clutter it. We never expected to upset someone to the point of making a blog, so maybe we’ll get some free advertising out of it! I would also like to repeat, for what feels like the thousandth time, if you see your character up here and it upsets you, please come off Anon and ask to remove it. We will do so, no questions asked. No need to go on a righteous Crusade, to stop a bunch of cranky, evil, salty reviewers from ripping up innocently ocs. Just… ask. [Mod S]

Mod M checking in just to let people know I’m going to try to post a guide or something today so the page isn’t just AnonGate. As an extra treat, mods are also apparently going to be reviewing each others portrayals/muses in the near future, so that might be fun. Mine has already been put on the chopping block by an anon, but other mods characters are still up for review. -- Mod M.

Ya'll I'm fucking howling with laughter because the anon from last night made a whole fucking blog just to respond to us. Just because you have /that/ url to give us shit from, my dude, doesn't make you any less of a pussy about revealing your identity after citing the supposed double standard that we had, to which I came right out and dropped my main for everyone to see. Keep in mind, ya'll. This is the anon who said they should let it go, because don't forget, they're so much more mature than any of us could dream to be. Like, dude for real. This shit literally tickles me and I love it. Keep it up m8 --K

For every thing that Mayfair OC did right, they did like ten things wrong. How do you even manage to be that bad?
I thought the ratio was pretty even... huh. Anyway, All ocs are a work in progress, even if some of them suck ass. It was my pleasure to rip this one to shreds. We live and we learn. I was extra harsh on this one because it’s a friend of mine. In addition, I think much of this profile is rather… aged. She is, I assure you, an excellent writer and RP partner, which brings me to my next question… do you have anyone on your OC roster you’d like us to shred? [Mod S]

Hey guys, I submitted an OC for some advice a long while back, and I just wanna say thanks. It really helped me in the long run as a writer regarding character-making, and I feel like my shitty fanfic became a bit less shitty as a result. Just figured I'd send some positive vibes your way with the apparent salty anon being NaCl incarnate.

Character Profile-
History -
Born in St. Petersburg to an apparently single mother, Yulia Vorobieva’s earliest years were reportedly average. Her mother, Dominika, took care of Yulia to the best of her abilities, supporting herself and her daughter through her work as an artist. The child was raised in a home that was by all accounts happy, until her mother’s sudden death in an automobile wreck in 1986. After this, Yulia fell off the radar for nearly ten years once taken in by her father. More is known about her father’s actions during this time than Julia’s own. [tragic backstory time–though so far this one’s pretty tame… we shall see.] Vorobiev, a former Spetsnaz operative [of course], tuned to mercenary work upon his dishonorable discharge early in his military career. Apparently unsatisfied with the direction his life was taking, the young soldier turned to political activism in his spare time, becoming a noted supporter of anarchy. Known to have had a hand in several riots and violent demonstrations, he spent much of his late twenties in jail, and eventually separated from his wife. Upon Dominika’s death several years later, Vorobiev took custody through abducting his daughter before returning to a stronghold in a largely uninhabited section of the Ural mountain range, near Usva village. [ngl, kinda intrigued and also wondering why an anarchist activist living in the mountains would want his daughter at all–what a fucking pain] The reclusive man, now a leader in the Eastern European anarchist movement, led a private war against the governments of several countries, funded through illegal activities that included drug trade, human trafficking, and extortion. For nine years, the anarchist leader was unable to be found, untouchable by the west and his own countrymen. [I’ll bet he also abused her. wanna take that bet?] In early 1997, Yulia was once more sighted, after nearly a decade missing.  Soldiers from a specialized task force were sent to neutralize the threat posed by Vorobiev, and were successful in their assassination. The only reported survivor of the massacre in the Anarchist leader’s stronghold was a young girl, later to be identified as Vorobiev’s own teenaged daughter. [because those dudes wouldn’t have shot a child by accident in all the gunfire or on purpose because they may or may not have been fucking psychos to assault a bunch of Russians in a fucking mountain base] When brought in for questioning by the Russian government, the girl was said to have been skittish and dis-associative, traits that would later lead to a PTSD diagnosis. [join the club, they have jackets (and husbandos like Soap)] Showing signs of severe abuse, [THERE it is! I knew it. her father only wanted her so he could abuse her and give her to his men, probably. I’m actually surprised the bio doesn’t go into that, ‘cause they usually do. thanks for sparing us] Yulia was questioned, but refused to speak. With Americans and the British clamoring for the information that the girl might have, and distrusting the only recently post-Soviet Russian government, both offered to hear the girl out. [because the CIA and MI6 are so willing to wait for information–they often make offers to teenage girls. my eyes are rolling into the back of my head. Yulia accepted the offer presented by the English, on her own terms. She woulbe given asylum, UK citizenship, and be given the name of a soldier involved in the raid on her father’s base. [here comes princess sparklebeans, the super soldier] Yulia shared what she knew, had most of her terms met, and was eventually turned loose to a series of group homes to try and rehabilitate the nearly feral child back into normal society. [but she was able to comprehend such a deal from the british government, despite being Mowgli] After several years being passed between foster homes, struggling with society and her education, Julia finally aged out of the system and entered college, studying to one day join MI-5. From the day her father died, the girl seemed to have made it a goal to find and help the man that had, in her own words, freed her. Once out of school, Yulia, having renamed herself Julia Mayfair, filled a small opening in MI-5. The team she joined were mainly desk jockeys, tasked with making sure no Ultranationalist threats entered the UK, and any that did slip through were dealt with. [How’re a bunch of pencil-pushers gunna accomplish that, I wonder?]
Julia found herself satisfied with her work, if lacking in some areas. Her various neuroses and social anxiety made for poor field work, at least where getting close to others was concerned, but her skill for manipulation showed through in interrogations and problem-solving. Quick-thinking and sharp-tongued, Agent Mayfair soon proved herself a valuable asset whilst in the Grid, and proved eager to please her superiors. Most were, however, concerned by Mayfair’s apparent lack of a personal life, something that was scrutinized greatly in her time with the secret service.
Joining the 141 - [Haven’t we discussed ladies in the 141? Seems like I’m always harping on this.] After more than a decade of successful work for MI-5, Julia’s career was pushed into an exciting new direction: Looming unemployment and lawsuits. [You have my attention.] After having gotten violent with a particularly physical young soldier outside of a club, an event that ended with the man maimed, Julia was facing several charges, including assault. Awaiting charges, General Shepherd approached the interrogation wunderkid and offered to make her legal struggles vanish if she would just work for the 141. Knowing the man who saved her life had moved on from the SAS to the 141, she accepted willingly, desperate to see the man that meant so much to her. [wait, this’s Price, right? Also how the fuck-shit-stack did she know ANYONE on the roster of the 141–unless Shep used it as leverage? But why would he do that, or care? fuck, man…. just… fuck]
In the 141 / Thread Interactions - At first, the woman seemed an odd fit for the elite task force [what with being a… WOMAN an’ all], with no formal military training [ lemme guess, she’s bad with guns and only uses knives and–okay I’ll stop] and national origins that made her an easy target. While her skill was in no way doubted at first, her social capabilities once again caused no small amount of issues in her daily life on base [but I thought she had no formal military training–that’d be where I’d start doubting]. Her victim-like bearing attracted much trouble, including an incident where Julia was assaulted by a particularly ill-tempered soldier for speaking against him. After a spectacularly botched mission in Romania, Julia was kept away from action for the foreseeable future. With more time on base, Julia realized she would have to find a place to belong. [in Price’s bed, I’m guessing] Befriending a local civilian [idk if they let these psychos “offbase” on their “downtime”… I fucking wouldn’t] by name of Yuri Alkaev, Julia slowly started to adapt to her new life. The tipping point between the timid woman who entered the 141 and the more capable person she has become came one night in a drunken fit. Julia rather harshly called out the soldier who assaulted her for her wrongdoings upon discovering she was not the only woman who had faced his wrath. Despite backlash for her actions, Julia felt herself justified, and walked with a bit more confidence having been able to face her enemy. Having made several friends out of coworkers, Julia seems to have truly settled into the 141, no longer being an FNG or a total outsider. Still, the taste of being able to have power over someone left an impact on Julia, who found herself wanting more respect in the months since her calling out of the sergeant. Having stood by the 141 loyally, Julia has proved a capable worker and asset to the 141 intelligence department, giving her all to help her coworkers to win the fight against militant Ultranationalists. Her true allegiance is not, however, to the 141 itself. With a devotion to Captain Price [OH FUCK here it is.] that most would call unsettling, there is no doubt where the woman’s loyalties lie. Her strong relationship with her career tends to highlight her lack of a personal life, of which some rumor is made among fellow intel operatives, but little is ever brought up to Julia directly.[Lemme guess, because she’s so scary.]  Regardless of Julia’s devotion for the older captain, her loyalty to Yuri has proven nigh-unbreakable, especially after he supported her growing want for power. Yuri’s recently being revealed as working for Vladimir Makarov, before defecting from the Inner Circle and agreeing to work against his former employer, has prompted frightful changes in the woman. Her adoration of Yuri, no matter how pure, has set her down a path that no one could account for, where she plays a bit closer to the Devil than the 141 would ever allow. If anyone in the 141 was made aware, there is no doubt she would be branded a traitor, perhaps even executed for associating with public enemy number one. [Lemme guess, bich gon’ sleep with him]
Julia’s work with Makarov is a closely guarded secret, and the only ones aware are the two involved and Yuri. Even Julia cannot say for sure if her dealings with the Ultranationalist leader are a play for power, or building towards revenge for the man she considers brother. Survival has, as ever, been an important goal for Julia, and her communications with Makarov could be a way of ensuring no matter who wins the coming war, she has the connections to survive and gain power. Love for Yuri, however, makes her eager to tear Makarov apart, and it is just as likely her dealings with the man are simply a diversion until such a time as she can avenge the horrors her brother suffered. [How the fuck do these girls get close to this fuckin’ dude?!] As it is, Julia stays several steps ahead of both members of the conflict, entertaining her own ideals and goals for the present.
After noticing several discrepancies in pre-existing files, Julia was brought to the brink of questioning her mental state. Had she disassociated and misread the files the first time? Had she uncovered some sort of plot? Upon bringing her concerns to General Shepherd, her career savior seemed less concerned than she would have preferred, but he seemed to have taken note of her anxieties worsening. Deciding that the woman was dealing with some sort of cabin fever brought on by her desk job, the General pushed her towards more work in her field. [Does that… happen? “Ur getting bored behind ur desk so go shoot some bitches”]
It was through cooperation with her old allies in MI-5 that Julia began her work to expand the 141’s sphere of influence. By making professional alliances with a noted Secret Service agent that had once outranked her, as well as cultivating a friendship with a certain MI-6 operative of some infamy, Julia has made herself a well-connected woman of growing influence.
Now tied up in a web of her own devising, Julia believes herself to have the connections and means with which to survive no matter the outcome of the gathering storm. The greatest threat to her security now is the possibility of her schemes being uncovered, her life now hinging on if she is unveiled as a traitor or not. Many have said the games she plays have made her her father’s daughter, comparable to the monster that destroyed her, but Julia is above such ‘mindless prattle.’
She does what she must to survive, just as she always has. You can be brutal without being cruel, she has decided, and that is the shade of difference between Vorobiev and his daughter.
Repeating such a thought helps her sleep more easily, when she has the time for it.
Characterization-
Personality: When it comes to Julia, the first thing thing to come to mind will be either hard-working or frightening. After a long stint being too afraid to speak up or be seen, Julia has finally begun to shake some of her timid nature while working for the 141, mainly through anger. Once she was too nervous to speak to others, and can now find it in her to order others around. While far from being over the trauma that caused her previous behavior, she is at least able to work around her shy nature now, if only in anger. Julia puts her all into working, and will be the first one into the office and the last one out. She enjoys the distraction from her thoughts that her work offers, and in addition has a real passion for her chosen field. The work is fun, at least to her, and she enjoys pouring over documents and trying to decipher the enemy’s next move. Despite Julia’s growing sense of self-importance, she has a kind heart to those she deems worthy, and will gladly help others if she is capable. She looks out for her own, and would do anything for those who earn her trust. Showing herself to be reserved, professional, and helpful, Julia is considered a great asset to her department. Despite Julia’s virtues, she can also show a sharp tongue and a lack of mercy to those that wrong her. Unforgiving and obsessive, Julia can make a terrible enemy, and has put her skill as an interrogator to use tearing down those who have hurt her. Deeply haunted by her nightmarish childhood, she clings desperately to those that show her respect and affection, and her loyalty runs deep to a fault. She does not give up on her views of others, and is set in her ways. A habitual liar, it is unlikely anyone really knows the woman beneath the snowy exterior, and Julia wears her lies so comfortably that it is unlikely anyone will unless she allows it. She is known to smother her own issues and carry on as best she can without sharing her problems, until she inevitably breaks down. Even as Julia grows into her voice and her view of herself, she still shows remnants of her previous nature, including anxiety that she cannot shake no matter how she tries. This anxiety is often leveled at those men who approach her, and crowds in general. Single-minded to a fault, Julia’s hardworking nature easily turns to a workaholic nature, and she can and will run herself ragged over work that needs doing. [Okay, fairly well-plotted and in-depth tbh] Skills and abilities: Shepherd tapped Julia for the 141 mainly due to her astounding skill at interrogation. [Maybe I missed how she went from desk work to “interrogation” and what happened to being savage without being cruel?] The woman has a talent for dressing people down to their bare bones, and can talk the unprepared into anything from confessing their crimes to even suicide. She can play any number of roles to ensure cooperation from her targets, and can have even the worst men eating out of her hand with a little time and effort. She also has a sharp mind, which is infinitely useful for her career. She is meant to decipher possible Ultranationalist movements and motivations, and is a good logical thinker. Her critical thinking and problem solving are impeccable. Julia is a more than capable hunter, patient and good with a knife. [I almost gave this my OH GREAT ANOTHER KNIFE SPECIALIST treatment… except this is just extra, so I’ll let it pass.]A childhood spent hunting in the wilds of the Ural Mountains have honed her skill to a fine, knife-like edge, though this skill is hardly necessary in her new life. Habits:   Julia has picked up a habit of smoking when stressed, though only in extreme situations. She has a habit of fidgeting and picking at her clothes or toying with her hair and fingers when nervous. She tends to flub English turns of phrase regularly. Strengths:  Julia is very good at manipulating people, which is invaluable in her line of work. Personally, she proves incredibly resilient to trauma and the darker aspects that the world has to offer her. [Well, at least she’s admitted she’s manipulative; extra points for using it consciously…] Flaws:   Julia’s obsessive nature is a double edged sword both personally and professionally. She holds those she cares for too tightly, and refuses to let go of work when given it, no matter the cost for either.
History -
Education: College graduate, Newcastle University alumni Previous employment: MI-5 Section H (Anti-Ultranationalist Unit) Prior stations: Thames House Service record: Operative and Intel Analyst for MI-5 Conduct record: Assault (wiped clean upon joining 141) Parents: Anton Vorobiev, terrorist/anarchist leader/ex-Spetsnaz, deceased                  Dominika Reznova, [Wait... like Reznov? Viktor Reznov? STOP] artist, deceased
Health-
General health: Good constitution, though lacking in stamina; Healthy. Physical build: Thin, fragile [And thus Shepherd said “yes, I want this waif on my team of burly badasses…. or not] Physical illnesses: Anemia [Same applies.] Mental illnesses: PTSD, Social Anxiety Disorder, Insomnia, Nightmare Disorder [join the club, ya special snowflake] Scars: Long, ugly scar running deep from under her right armpit to the bottom of her ribs, gained as a result of falling out of a tree as a girl; Small circular burn scar on neck from being careless with a curling iron in college. Alright everyone, here we go. Again.
Alright. Admin K here again (who hasn’t made a real post on here in about a thousand years. I’m using “again” kinda leniently because of that). For those of you who don’t remember, I’m the one that likes caps and gifs to express my frustration or flat out rage.
This post was mostly out of the anon we have recently received because dude. Really?
There are a few reasons we are here and why most of our followers are here.
-We’re all old, salty bastards who have an almost shamefully large amount of combined experience in fics, RPing, and writing in general. Some of us have even been paid for our writing. We’ve seen a lot of good, bad, and ugly, and HAVE BEEN AMONG ALL OF THESE THINGS. It’s part of learning and growing as writers and creators of any medium. Will touch more on that later.
-We are busy. This comes with the being old part. The salty part comes from being busy... and, well, old. Unfortunately bills must be paid. This is part of why we’re nowhere near as active as we probably could be. But despite my general absence, the rest of the crew have done fabulously in making sure we haven’t been just been an archive of a failed attempt at a blog. So many thanks to the other people running the blog. You’re my comrades in the salt trenches.
-We are thinking about expanding. Maybe it will be pages including help. Maybe it will be regular posts with tips and tricks. Maybe it will be creating or becoming affiliated with a blog that specializes in character creation. Who knows. We’re all just kind of chatting about things at this point.
-We are NOT just here to be assholes just for the sake of being assholes, though that is part of what we’re doing. We point out the bad so that it may be corrected. It’s just in a manner that is humorous to us and most, if not all, of our audience. No, it may not be nice to the creator who’s work we’re criticizing, but here’s the thing: If you put out something you create, you are not putting it out in a vacuum, and you can not expect to never have any sort of criticism. There is no sort of guilt you can use to make you exempt. You can have a more tragic story than your OC about why we can’t say you’re bad at what you’re doing. The world does not work like that. But, like we’ve said before, if you see something that belongs to you and are polite in asking us to remove it, we will. But you’ve seen us be dicks. We’re not afraid to do it again because you decide to demand we retract things we say about your precious creation.
-Stepping back a bit, BECAUSE of all that experience, including criticisms we have received ourselves, as well as just looking back at things we used to write/think/do/whatever and cringing so bad, our faces nearly caved in, we have come to demand a certain standard. And when the standard of “decent” is not met, we expect people to learn from their mistakes and improve beyond there. No one came out of the womb writing perfect characters and worlds. We certainly didn’t. Just because we’re not coddling people in our criticisms doesn’t mean everything we do is solely to be mean. Otherwise we would just share shitty things and laugh, not spend the time to pick them apart.
-This isn’t a matter of being vindictive. This isn’t a matter of hazing the up and coming writers that are standing where we last stood ‘bout a decade ago. This is a matter of having a bit of fun as bad writing and poorly made characters instead of just groaning and holding in all the frustration that comes with them. It also gives people a chance to see what to not fucking do. Hell, if one of my OCs were shredded on here, I can guarantee I’d have a laugh as it and appreciate the fine pointers about how I can improve.
So yes. We are old assholes. With a lot of experience. Who mostly do this for the lulz. But we also want to push people to be better than they are.
We are always accepting submissions and asks. This can include characters to be shredded (or constructive criticism. If you want the latter because it’s your own, please specify. When someone actually comes to us for advice, we tend to not have a bite as just wanting to share some wisdom to those seeking it), suggestions for what to do with the blog, or just thought/feelings.whatever that’s relevant.
So, have fun, my loves. That’s why we’re here.

Actually!
That last Anonymous message was right, in a way. We really need to expand into the realm of canon characters. There’s way too much fodder not to. The mods on this blog are busy with real life, but we will make time to review some canon characters and, as a gesture of good will, I am going to submit my interpretation of Sandman from Modern Warfare 3. I will not be reviewing this one, as that would be dishonest. I think that covers two of the last anon’s questions: males (not that we needed it, but why not?) and canon. [Mod S]

Note
Publicly ripping on someone's character isn't constructive. If you want to be constructive, send them a PM? A public blog only really serves to humiliate, so don't pretend you're being helpful when all you're doing is flaming. I'd also like to know why you're only hating on original female characters. Surely there's male original characters or canon representations out there that offend your notion of 'great writing'... Speaking of, do you have example of your own 'great characters' to share?
This blog has never claimed to be “helpful”… it’s sort of a don’t like don’t look type of deal, though the lack of an about page is definitely a contributor to the misconception that we might be here to help. We are really a bunch of salty old COD rpers.
Flaming is a good way to put it, but I prefer shredding. I actually didn’t know flaming was a term anyone still used! Petition to bring that one back. We have offered help in the past and some folks have taken it, actually! That aside, the main scope of this blog is to rip, shred, tear and otherwise dismantle “bad cod ocs” as the title declares.
We review all characters submitted. The characters are primarily female because that’s what’s been submitted. There are a couple male ocs, though. We haven’t expanded our scope to canon characters yet, but boy howdy there are some bad ones. We don’t seek these out; they’re sent to us.
If you want one taken down, come off anon and ask. We’ll gladly do it. No arguments, no questions.
I’m currently working on one of our oc’s, now you mention it. It’s been in the hopper for a couple weeks because I’m lazy. Anything else? [Mod S]

Name: Mira 'Paws' Cole
As callsigns go, I don’t think Paws is half bad. It’s not as grandiose as some that stumble through this door, not edgy and hardcore... It sounds like the kind of nonsense a military faction would hand down to the new kid.
Appearance: Height- 5"9.
There is a desperate need for more lady OCs who are not like 5′2″ every time. I can at least salute the creator for this...
Weight- 134.
...And a sensible weight for someone in the military! A little googling tells me this BMI is in the normal range, if on the smaller side. No one has to give this OC a sandwich for her to run out and kick some tail.
Eye color- Emerald green.
Mmm, unlike my fellow mods, I don’t think using specific descriptors for eyes is a dealbreaker or special snowflake. There’s a lot of shades of green out there. However, I would maybe pick something other than a precious gem to describe a character’s eye color. It’s become a bit of a dead horse at this point.
Hair color- Dark brown.
So far, everything is really good, very low-key. I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop to explain why the hell this OC is doing on this page.
Where she serves- U.S. Army Ranger
Recent as it may be, women are slowly entering the ranks of the Rangers through the school, if not actually able to serve in its ranks. Assuming some level of research was put into what it would take for a female OC to break ground like this, we might be onto something.
Now, if you’re all prepared, the other shoe drops... now.
Position- Hired medic/Assassin
Well, medic OCs are old hat at this point, but as long as there’s real research and a plot, I’m not totally opposed to someone examining a side of canon that isn’t totally defined by missions and frontline action--
Wait.
A medic’s first rule is to do no harm... and she is an assassin. Does anyone else see the glaring lack of fundamental understanding of how the military works in that statement, or just me? I’m sure at some point in history or another, a killer has used the disguise of a medical personnel to get closer to a target, but that’s not exactly military standard, not in this day and age.
For that matter, why is the US Army hiring assassins when they have some of the most elite fighting forces on the planet? Any one of Ramirez’s team could easily take up a sniper rifle and hang out for a few hours waiting for a good shot. The Army does not need assassins in the classical sense. It would be much more sensible if this OC was freelance, PIC, or maybe even part of a CIA that is far darker than the average Modern Warfare civilian accounts for.
But for your baseline US Army attache, this is going well over the line. It renders basically all past praise I put upon the OCs design nearly moot. I can’t even imagine what an international DISASTER it would be if an American medic was outed as a professional, government-sanctioned assassin. It would change the face of warfare, totally flip centuries of regulations about medics and their role on its head. Everything would just go to absolute shit if people trusted to heal and stay out of trouble came out as paid professional killers operating with their government’s blessing.
You can make an OC interesting without relying on secret identities or shocking swerves, or defying basic military roles that leave little hope for a character being an assassin.
History: Mira had never thought she could go to war-and at least experince anything, But now she's been sent over to work as a medic. She'll meet anyone and (oddly) enough; everyone.
The Rangers, Shepherd, Allen, these are characters I can understand an OC rubbing elbows with, given the game and faction in question. Maybe even  a brush with Team Metal, if you want to broach MW3 and the fact both Rangers and Delta fought against the Russian invasion on the East Coast. Everyone, though? That’s pushing it. The 141 and the Rangers are never anywhere near each other in game proper to allow for meeting ‘everyone.’
Is Mira surprised? Kind of. Sure she has some crushes on certian people. But this is war, not the love boat.
As opposed to OC/Canon shipping as many people are, so long as it’s not the focal point and overshadowing a much more interesting plot... I personally see no problem with mentioning a character might be interested in someone else. Especially if it’s buffered with the fact ‘hey there’s a war going on, let’s not worry about our alleged sexual tension and instead focus on not. fucking. dying.’
None of this excuses the walking International Shitshow Waiting To Happen, but it’s a surprising touch.
She also earned the name nickname 'Paws', from the wolf paws tatooed and her back, and two small ones on the back of her neck.
That’s not usually how callsign assignments work, it’s usually more of a callback to a memorable incident or a personality trait.
For pure hypotheticals, let’s say Soap once slid off of something during training, or is very thorough about ‘cleaning’ out a room when on ops. Either of these things might lead to teammates alluding to him as ‘Soap,’ either due to his slippery fuck up, or his sheer ‘cleaning’ power. It’s not like teammates looked at Soap’s haircut and just decided ‘You’re Mohawk now.’ There’s more to callsigns and military culture than that.
Personality: Mira is a kind, gentle, and calm soul. But if somthing goes wrong; she; like Dunn would freak out just the same.
For both of her preposterous careers, staying cool is a part of the job description.
A medic has to know how to perform under intense pressure, when the lives of their patients are on the line, sometimes in the middle of a firefight. The military medic career is not one you want to freak out in.
Assassins must master the art of planning -- entrance, loadout, the exact moment they take down the target, and an exit strategy. They have to be veritable ghosts, leaving no trace of themselves, and with the patience to wait sometimes days for one brief moment and then a quick way out. A freak out at any stage of an assassination is a surefire bullet in the chest at best and a trip to a black site in your target’s home country at worst.
Also if shes meant to be calm why the hell would she freak out when a plan goes to shit? Why does everything about this OC oppose prior information?
She has an affectionate side, but tends not to use it. Theres moments where she can be totally awkward.
Why? Why any of that? I know I harp on explanations in just about every review I do, but I’m just really passionate about OC creators explaining to their audience how and why things work. Personality traits existing at odds with one another are a good reason to have explanations in your profile. If this OC is kind and gentle, why hide her affectionate side? Is she perhaps uncomfortable with overt displays of affection, while still being super sweet and kind to people? Is there a disconnect between her professional personality and her off-duty persona?
Hell if I know, that’s all that’s said for me to analyze.
Also, how awkward are we talking here? ‘My mouth sometimes moves faster than my brain’ awkward, or ‘I was apparently raised in a cave and have no understanding of several normal every day things’ awkward? Much like there are many different shades of green, there are many different flavors of awkward.
Secrets: Mira is a So-Called 'Assassin', as she describes herself, but is labled as a Sniper by others(As she states during Modern Warfare) but tends to lie when someone questions her.
A sniper is not an assassin in the classical sense. A sniper is a part of many military teams, and is in fact basic in certain circumstances. A sniper is a legitimate specialist and would never cross over with medical corps.
A lone sniper might well be an assassin, but a sniper on a military team is usually just that: a sniper. Not an assassin, sure as hell not a medic, but definitely a person who is good at waiting, communicating with their spotter, and shooting OpFor as needed.
This might come as a shock, but I don’t think this OC makes much sense, guys.
On that note, why the hell is she in the original Modern Warfare? The American faction in COD4 was the Marines, not Rangers.
She comes to the Army Rangers (In Modern Wafare 2) posing as a Medic, but still serves as a Sniper, she them keeps her position as an Assassin in Modern Warfare 3, where she is seperated and is now on the hunt for Vladimir Makarov.
If she ‘comes to’ the Rangers in MW2, who was she with originally in MW? Was she supposed to be a freelance assassin that the US Army looked at and said ‘good enough for us?’ I really don’t get this bit, I’m sincerely confused by the sequence of events now.
As for MW3... That’s just poor writing and we all know it. The implication Ramirez and company are out taking the Kremlin, and this OC gets separated from the real party. I’m offended for her.
Other: She hates the way anyone treats attack dogs, she has a way to avoid being attacked by them. In this case, she carries treats to throw them off. Even the most vicious dog can be strayed away when confronted by Mira.
No. No, actually, they can’t. These dogs are broken and remade into fur-covered death machines that exist only to destroy whatever they are pointed at. There is nothing you can do to ‘stray’ them, let along with treats. Maybe if you throw them fresher meat than you, but otherwise I have no idea what would even come close to swaying a legitimate dog of war. They would eat her alive, brutally, and then turn their attention to the other Rangers.
Gory, yes. True, also yes. Attack dogs are not misunderstood babies anymore. They are straight up gone, redesigned to do nothing but kill whoever their kennel master sics them on. Kill or be killed is the only way to deal with an enemy attack dog in the middle of battle. Now excuse me, I have to go hug my own dog for a little bit.
Family: Both her parents died when she was 14, but she made friends with a kid named Chuck Seasons *Aka Chef* and the two became friends and have stayed that way ever since.
Let me guess, a member of this creators OC cadre? Did making friends with this kid cure the ache that is losing both of your parents and being made an orphan as a young teenager?
Animal Companions: Mira owns a black German Shepherd named 'Coach', after her famed basketball coach during middle school.
I’m not sure about this one, but I think this Coach guy’s parents really wanted him to be a coach.
So anyway, Mod M would like to posit this question: Why is it that the best/most down to earth designs always end up being tied to brain-breakingly out of touch with the real world OCs? For that matter, why am I always the one left holding the flaming bag that is these ocs?

would the mod be interested in a sue that combines two different games really bad? i found an oc that's in love with price (from modern warfare) and related to reznov (from black ops) the cringe is strong.
all submissions are a blessing, friend.
