Several years ago, my wife Brandi and I celebrated our honeymoon in San Francisco. While wandering through the Castro District, we happened upon the San Francisco Human Rights Campaign Action Center and Store. Located in Harvey Milk’s old camera shop, actually. We loved meeting the staff and learning about the work of the incredible organization. We left the shop with two HRC bumper stickers, and both put them on our cars and proudly wore them on there.
A friend of ours spotted the two HRC stickers on our car[s], and invited us to the National Dinner, probably four years ago now. We were so moved by the stories we heard, and inspired by the love in the room, that we joined the Federal Club. Brandi and I are proud to support HRC, and we’re proud to stand with all of you.

We worked hard to bring the Stanley Cup to Washington DC, and we take all of you on that journey with us. And we are proof that supporting LGBTQ equality is a winning decision, and we’re honored to stand here with you in the fight.

“My family and myself, we believe in a world where humans are treated with respect regardless of your stature, what you’re born into. You’re asked to choose what side you’re on, and I think it’s pretty clear what side I’m on. I believe that this is the right decision for myself and my family.”
Productivity culture will deceive you (especially if you are particularly high-functioning or a former Gifted Kid) into thinking that any use of your time that can’t be monetized or leveraged for your personal advancement is worthless, and I’m here to tell you that’s the devil talking. Do shit because you like it.
“once i was born, 2-3 days old, my dad had me on the ice. he was skating me around in his arms and i was always a big fan of candy. my dad would throw some skittles onto the ice for me. first i’d start crawling to them, trying to skate, and as i started crawling a little bit more, pulling myself up more, started skating a little more. and that’s the way i started skating.”
