Visit to EVZ "Erinnerung, Verantwortung und Zukunft"

We will remember for a long time a visit to the EVZ. This is a large organization that was founded to assist the victims of national- socialism, but we were here to get acquainted with their program called MeetUp, which is carried out jointly with Ukraine and aims at a dialogue between German and Ukrainian youth․ It was very pleasant for us to meet Ukrainian workers from EVZ  and to hear in detail about the program. Many of us are interested in this program and I hope to participate in one of them sometime.

Anyta Galun, Today was a great day! We’ve spent all our time together. Our day started from GSP agency. There we were studying and learning new things. Also we had a discussion on important topics where we’ve used our gained knowledge. After that we went to the Holocaust memorial. That place is full of history and sadness. This place is worth to visit, especially if you are interested in that. In addition we had a reflection about human rights issues, what should and shouldn’t we do.  In the evening we went to the Futurum museum. Broadly speaking, it was very a main to see those things which are waiting for us in the future. Time flies fast and things change very quickly. So, we are responsible for those things which we are doing because all of them has its consequences. Thank you for a great day ESC volunteers.

Today We woke up earlier than as usual. After the quickly breakfast we will at the of office of the Freiwilligen Agentur. We noticed a lot of information about how to be a volunteer in Berlin. We met an easy-opened employer of this company. Her name is Ann and she is from Poland. She has worked at this company during 13 years. After that we visited CHANCE International office and summed up . This atmosphere was really  warm and friendly. Then we had a lunch . Despite with a windy weather we went to memorial of Berlin's wall . We got a lot of information about inhabitants life with 2 half part of the city during 1961-1989 years.  We was cold and when we decided to visit a DDR Museum it was a great idea to be in a warm place with an interesting information . It was like a visit to granny. We felt mixed feelings and the most of were positive.

The second day of our study-visit, we spent learning about communication. Mila told us what is communication in general, what is its purpose and why often we do not notice problems with communication with others. Then we tried the method of four ears and mouths. We are very impressive with this method, I wonder how often we don’t even think about our answers and questions. We also learned about volunteering in general, and in particular about ESC. We had the opportunity to learn about this program from the CHANCE volunteers.

We’re Ukrainian students from Ostroh academy who have visited Bundestag Building yesterday. We are still impressed by this place and history it haves . Most of us were captivated by the view from the top of the glass dome, because there you can see the incredible night Berlin, illuminated by different colors. If you’ve never been there, we do recommend to visit this place!
