never download custom content zip files that ask for passwords to extract said zip file, they are malware + trackers

while we are not frequently here as much as we should be, we do want to know that we are very thankful for those who choose to follow us and send us files. we also appreciate everyone here that just interacts with our posts! sure, we may be a source for taking down perma-paywallers but we do enjoy having a little chat with you all every once in a while.

is there any cc creators we should avoid?
i would say it is fairly easy to research the creators you should avoid, and look at ones that are mentioned in passing on this blog. however, as a resource that reuplods creator content i am keeping their name out of my mouth to avoid threats.

Overwolf (Who owns Curseforge) is an israeli company which is supporting the genocide in palestine and funding the IDF
Tumblr media
Dont use curseforge anymore.
For downloading game mods: If it's Minecraft, use Modrinth instead, for any other games use gamebanana or nexusmods.
The original tweet appears to have been deleted. and im unable to find it on Archive.org, but the tweets are still indexed by google.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They're still openly raising money for Israel, though instead of the IDF in specific its just general "those affected by the Hamas attacks"

The lesson here would probably to learn from all the people actually pirating the cc and point users to DHM/Rebels instead of re-uploading the cc posted there on tumblr and putting yourself at risk. There's a reason why they chose telegram as a place to host the files and why they treat donations the way they do (private & anonymously). There's a reason why some creators cannot be requested on DHM. Some of these creators are straight up fucked and the doxxing ring(s) they've had show that well. An occasional re-upload for convenience sake probably isn't bad, but continuously doing it even with the most notorious creators (r*byred for example) is unnecessary risk that puts a target right on your back. At this point, there should be absolutely no shock that a paywall creator would behave like this. I'm more surprised mass reporting hasn't happened before now, or worse. This will continue to happen as long as it's done openly, until the relevant blog is deleted or the owner is doxxed/threatened enough to stop. Because the paywallers in question have proven they can and will target and harass people that do this.

we'd love to give you a tiny little update amidst our absence. it has been brought to us, and fully proven, that tv-sims also has been stealing other artists artwork to use within their cc (for paintings in-game) without a single bit of credit or approval from the artists.
in their cc set fantasy views, one piece of cc has art from multiple sources that can be tracked to individual artists. only one creator was contacted from these artists and permission was not given to tv-sims to use the artwork.
this information was detailed to us from a source that has been updating us on other tv-sims related posts, we did not track/figure this out ourselves.

also publicly tagging creators that are known for DOXXING and practically publicly admitting to putting trackers in your cc does not help your case in … any way.
for the low price of purchasing every item one by one you too can have poorly made cc in your game that you have to get privately sent which is the easiest way to send tracked cc! this is such a good deal

hi there! do you have dearkims' older selfie overrides? if you go to their tumblr, there's some dead dl links... i can't find them anywhere and they said patreon exclusive. if you find them please post! they are such cute poses 💔
we’ll look into either getting them or finding them from a different place and post an update about them if it’s possible!

alright. another small little update on how they are tracking their cc from their patreon since you all deserve to know the extents these people are going...
parts of the blender UV map between meshes are laid out differently on hidden parts of the mesh, so to the untrained eye there is no difference because the part of the texture that's warped is part of the bottom/inside of the mesh. parts you can't see are different.
different object catalog swatches and tagged as different colors
they are still using the typical item name differences, minor description differences, and unique number on certain item textures
and the normal. simoleon price differences
as we are updating our files from tv-sims, we must let you all know that we have been alerted that this creator has started using tracking within their files to track who could be sharing their cc. the files we are receiving have been cleared of any and all trackers thanks to those who have sent us the files.
this is just a warning that cc from tv-sims is being tracked. if you are downloading cc from this creator with an intention of providing it to places that reupload cc, please be careful.

Do you have any of body by Vasquez cc (BBV) they lock their stuff behind a paywall which you have to pay to even be able to access the cc they create (literally says teir 1: access to custom content on Patreon)
as much as we hate to say this considering how they lock their cc... we do not have their stuff and we looked at the other two (easily accessible) sources and their stuff is not there as well :( we'll add it to our list!

Sims creators that are shady af
Long post ahead!
You would think only paywallers are shady af. Nah, when you go to a creator and mentioned that their mod(s) may be broken, and that they are being flagged by certain folks as broken too, and all they do is dirty delete your comments when you were just trying to be helpful, kinda shitty isn’t it? It would make anyone mad, and rightly so.
I think we need a list of creators like this, so people know not to download their broken mods or sub to them for broken content. Not only do paywallers do shady stuff, but so do non paywall creators! I was shocked because they seemed so nice too.
Us black simmers need to stick together and I don’t know about you, but solidarity is sharing with someone when something of theirs isn’t working and then they say oops and fix it!
But alas, this one creator failed to do this, and got super fucking hostile. It’s sad because they are a black creator, and I was going to sub to them because I Iiked their content, and I’d been following them on Patreon for a while now. Then they kept dirty deleting my comments even after I suggested a way to FIX their broken mods! And it was easy fixes too!
Of course I have receipts, because that’s how I roll. I am livid now. Bitch you had this call-out post coming.
Under the read more because I’ve babbled enough lol. Pics and more babbling from me and said creator (their name is NOT censored because these are receipts so be warned it may be someone you sub to).

Hi I think people should know about shady sims creators that ARE NOT paywallers, because apparently they exist! I just did two posts about the issue. Thanks for considering reading and sharing!
i just saw your post as you sent this! i cannot put it into words what to say about peoples actions at this point. all i can do is reblog the proof that cc creators are just ... absolutely wild.

while we can't share how to scrub cc of the trackers creators use to make sure they don't know the tactics and develop new ones. we can share with you some of the things to look out for regarding patreon cc creators
truly the best way to find these things would be through sims 4 studio, and comparing files between a group of people.
item prices can differ between people (ie. 50 simoleons for one person, 45 simoleons for another person)
catalog swatches can differ per file. textures aren't switched but the square swatch will be different
reportedly, additional swatches to certain files that are specific to one persons file that isn't available for others
creators can be making slight/big changes to a 3d mesh between packages
editing item texture in the slightest way possible (ie. hiding a number exclusive to a patron on a texture which is possible to be seen editing the texture in an art program and editing brightness)
tagging items with different categories (ie. tagging a deco item with clutter for one person and sculpture for another item)
the .package file name could be different down to a different bracket, grammar or an extra space. (ie. in a merged file a part of the merged file might have a completely different name. you can easily unmerge files in sims 4 studio)
i would fully like to thank the cc scrubbing anon for sending in this info of things they have seen! we do apologize that we can't share how to scrub files of these things.
