First of all,factories in america are harvesting meat from those cows. They are killed humanely. Most of the 'environmental destruction' that you are talking about doesn't exist, or is not caused by making food with meat in it.

Because you’re killing animals. That’s it. I shouldn’t have to convince you of the rampant cruelty in factory farms. I shouldn’t have to tell you about the people who starve in order to feed your livestock. I shouldn’t have to tell you about the deforestation, or the global warming, or the poisoned waterways, or the toxins in the air, or the depletion of topsoil, or the destruction and waste of every natural resource it takes to create a burger.

You should be able to realize that depriving any animal of the most basic and fundamental right is not okay.
