A Belated Notice Regarding  “In the Middle”
To anyone hoping I was going to come out with an Epilogue for “In the Middle”, that was always my intention. However, (two years later), it sits as a draft and I have made several attempts to finish it since, but keep wishing I had done the main story differently. So, that is what I plan to do; I’ll leave the Original up for anyone but am planning on completely redoing it and maybe even dipping into other fandoms as well. Thank you so much for being on this journey with me, I appreciate every like, reblog, follow or even just a simple read.
A Simple Epilogue
George is depressed for awhile and attempts to shut everyone out, including you. Eventually (on his own time), he comes to you for assistance. It takes about a month before you move back to your flat above the Joke Shop. But you’re not alone. Lee Jordan and Percy help out in the beginning and Verity comes back to work. George attempts to dye his hair a different color but does a poor job (you make fun of him and call him a spotted frog, which makes him laugh a bit) and says he only sees Fred in the mirror. So, you also make a joke that Fred had two ears and George only has one (which also makes him laugh), but he’s struggling. Especially once April 1st rolls around the next year, because he’s never been older than Fred and now for the first time, he is. So, you comfort him. Eventually, you get a letter from Hogwarts asking you to apply for a teaching position (which you get, but I never decided which position maybe Defense Against the Dark Arts or Transfiguration) and that is enough instinctive for you and George to move to Hogsmeade and buy Zonko’s joke shop so that you can easily get to work and George doesn’t have to continue living a door down from Fred’s bedroom. On that note, Ron and Hermione move into your flat above the Joke Shop since Ron wanted to assist George.
After you move and start your position (which you crush by the way because you’re Y/N and you’re awesome), you and George maybe consider the possibility of finally getting married, but how’re you supposed to get married without Fred cheering you on. So, you don’t for awhile. You actually have your first baby first, which you name Fred to honor his Uncle. And you do get married after that, I would say maybe after Harry and Ginny AND Ron and Hermione. But you do, and then you welcome your second child (who you get to decide the name of). All your nieces and nephews love you at Hogwarts (Fred and baby #2 do too, but they’ll never admit it). And life is good, for the first time since the war, you feel content. Of course, you and George miss Fred and you always will, but he would want you to keep living and would be so proud of the family you’ve created.

A/N: WOW, I’m not sure if anyone has been waiting for this chapter for the last 3 months and for that I apologize. I lost a lot of motivation for this series because I wanted to rewrite the whole thing, but I decided to finish it out. So ENJOY!
P.S. I also was very upset to write this scene, so that didn’t help either.
Summary: You along with many others, participate in the Battle of Hogwarts.
Warnings: Mentions of blood, death, injuries and a profanity
Word Count: 3027
-------
The Battle of Hogwarts
You’re running through the hallways of Hogwarts making your way towards the Great Hall. You look over at George who has been sneaking glances at you the entire time. As you reach the giant doors, you offer his hand another squeeze, attempting to reassure him.
As the double doors open, revealing the Great Hall, you can hear Harry, “It seems, despite your exhaustive defensive strategies, you still have a bit of a security problem headmaster.” The group of you step through and into the room. You stand next to George, you wand in hand, determination filling you entirely. “And I’m afraid it’s quite extensive.”
“How dare you stand where he stood? Tell them how it happened that night! Tell them how you looked him in the eye, a man who trusted you and killed him.” Harry continues, screaming at Snape. Immediately, Snape pulls out his wand and points it at Harry causing the crowd to scatter.
Instinctively, George steps in front of you, wand ready at his side. Professor McGonagall pushes Harry out of the way and points her wand at Snape, throwing spells at him. As he escapes through the window, she screams “Coward!” and quickly lights up the room. But then you hear a voice flooding your ears, “Harry…” and a few screams echoing.
“I know that many of you want to fight… Some of you may even think that to fight is wise… But this is folly… Give me Harry Potter… Do this and none shall be harmed… Give me Harry Potter and I shall leave Hogwarts untouched… Give me Harry Potter and you will be rewarded… You have one hour”
Everything suddenly felt real, but at the same time you felt more determined than you ever had before. “What are you waiting for? Someone grab him!” You heard Pansy Parkinson yell at Harry. Ginny and Hermione were the first two to go, followed by a number of students and then the rest of you. Everyone shielding Harry from Slytherin.
“Students out of bed!” Finch yells, running through the Great Hall, you step out of the way along with the others to allow him to pass towards McGonagall.
“They are supposed to be out of bed you blithering idiot!” McGonagall sounds annoyed, but quickly her face turns into a smirk. “Mr. Filch, I would like you to lead Miss Parkinson and the rest of Slytherin House from the hall. The dungeons would do.”
As Slytherin was escorted outside the hall, it immediately began to fill with chatter. You’re standing with Fred, George, Lee and Ginny when Molly approaches, “Ginevra Molly Weasley! I won’t permit it! You’re underage, you’ve got to go home!”
“I won’t!” Ginny protests, looking at the three of you for support. Molly then rounds on the three of you, staring daggers.
“What were you three thinking bringing her with you!” Molly shouts, causing the three of you to look ashamed at one another.
“I can’t go home! My whole family is here -“ Ginny continues to protest when suddenly Percy Weasley comes walking towards the group.
“Am I too late?” He asks, looking around. The entire group of you is stunned into silence, mouths hanging slightly open. Percy sighs, “I was a fool,”
Molly quickly pushes past all of you, wrapping Percy in a bone-crushing hug as Arthur approaches, blinking for a moment before joining in on the hug. Lupin eventually convinced Molly that Ginny could stay on sight, just out of the battle. Percy approached you, cautiously at first.
“So, George finally admitted his feelings?” Percy asked, motioning towards the ring set on your finger and then turns towards Fleur. “And you’re my sister-in-law now?”
Suddenly, Kingsley approaches, “We’ll need somebody to organize defense of the entrances of the passageways into school -“
“Sounds like a job for us,” Fred says, motioning to George and yourself and Kingsley nods in approval. George holds on tightly to your hand, leading you outside the doors and into even more commotion. Mentally, you’re debating which passageways are priority when you hear Professor McGonagall tell Neville and Seamus to blow up the bridge. You debate for a moment, wanting to assist in some pyrotechnics but decide to grab on to George’s hand tighter as he leads you away from the courtyard and the Great Hall. A small group of other students has gathered around you, including Percy who looks more than ready to help.
You count quickly, remembering the seven secret passageways around Hogwarts that Fred and George forced you to find with them your first-year after stealing that map.
You’re leaning on the wall outside of Filch’s office, waiting for the only two friends you’ve made so far at Hogwarts to receive their punishment so that you can all head back to the Gryffindor common room. Then the faint sound of another Dungbomb going off and the foul scent instantly hitting your nostrils as the door flings open. George grabs your hand as he and Fred begin sprinting down the hallway.
You stumble at first, but eventually catch your balance and continue with the boys down the hall, the sound of your shoes echoing down the corridor, as Finch chases after you. Suddenly a small divot in the wall comes up as George pulls you in with Fred close behind, watching as Filch runs past the three of you.
“Since when did I become an accomplice to your crimes?” You whisper, attempting to be angry, but laughing instead.
“You’ve always been one deep down, but today was your initiation,” Fred jokes, pulling out the complex sheet of paper from his pocket.
“Welcome to the club,” George says, lighting up his wand.
“This has nothing on it,” You say, visibly disappointed in the item.
“It has to be more!” Fred says, flipping through it.
“It was in a drawer labeled ‘Confiscated and Highly Dangerous’” George says, grabbing it from his brother and flipping through it. The two of them spent a long time, attempting different spells on the map until eventually they managed to say the correct words, allowing them access, which in return they dragged you around the school, memorizing the locations of all the passageways.
You’re brought back to reality when George squeezes your hand, looking towards you for advice. “We’re going to have to split up into 3 groups and show others where these passageways are,” You say looking towards George, who already is shaking his head.
“I’ll meet up with the two of you after I get everyone set up.” You look at him, kissing his cheek lightly. “We’re the only ones who have them all memorized,”
He begins to nod as a small smile plays at the corner of his lip, “Guess your initiation benefited you,”
You smile back at him, before motioning to a few people in the group to follow along with you. You lay out which passages each of you will go to and how many people will go there, before heading off. You quickly run through the corridors, showing your group where the passages are so they can defend them. Once you finish, you head over to meet back up with George and Fred, running quickly back through the corridors. You look out the windows as you pass by noticing the barrier quickly forming around the school.
As you walk up the steps towards them, you can hear George’s voice. “You okay, Freddie?”
“Yeah,” Fred responds with a sigh.
“Me too,” George says, tapping Fred with his elbow. You smile at the two of them, as you approach.
“You two better not be getting sappy on me now,” You say as you make your way towards them. George immediately rushes towards you, wrapping his arms around you and pulling you in. As he pulls away, you look over towards Fred and hold out your arms.
“Bring it in, Freddie.” He rolls his eyes but walks forward and accepts the embrace.
“Who’s the sappy one now?” He teases, yet wraps his arms around you tightly.
“Still you because you agreed, plus I’ve always been soft.” You laugh, stepping away and taking in the two boys. Fred hugs George and begins to walk away, “I’ll go find Percy, I’ll see you both soon,”
You smile thankfully at Fred as he steps away, giving you and George a moment alone. “Y/N, I-“ George begins, a sad look on his face. You quickly kiss him, silencing whatever he was going to say.
“We’re in this together Georgie, from here on out,” You say, giving his hand a squeeze before pulling him in the direction of the stairs. He lets go of your hand, causing you to turn back to him, a confused look on your face. You can see the bright blue barrier illuminating the back of George’s head, making it hard to see his facial features. Suddenly, the sky lit up as the shield exploded, revealing George’s wide eyes.
“We don’t have time, we need to go!” You yell, grabbing George’s hand and running towards your position. The Death Eaters had already infiltrated the castle, running around as spells were cast. You felt George’s hand pull away from yours as he yells a spell of his own and sends a Death Eater flying backwards. You see a light out of the corner of your eye, causing you to duck quickly as a green ball crashes into a pillar behind you. Without hesitation, you pull out your wand and yell “Stupefy” sending another one back and over the railing.
You look behind you, but do not see George anywhere, having lost him in the commotion. “George?” You yell, but are only met with the sound of the battle around you. Panic immediately begins to set in, but you continue on towards your destination, hoping that George had the same idea. But once you get there, he’s nowhere to be seen. You continue to battle, hoping George will show up, but he doesn’t. Instead you’re fighting with a few students you remember from Dumbledore’s army and hope that he’s okay.
You think about where George may have gone and assume he might have gone to help Fred and Percy once he was unable to find you. So you quickly begin to head in that direction, flicking your wand whenever a Death Eater makes an appearance. You can hear Percy making a joke and Fred laughing as you approach. You’re rounding the corner, when the wall explodes sending you flying across the hall with the rubble.
You groan as you hit another wall, your vision is blurred from the smoke and there’s a ringing in your ears. You’re unable to hear anything, but as it slowly comes back you can hear someone screaming. As it begins to settle, you look up at the newly cleared opening in the wall and see Percy kneeling over something, no someone. You slowly manage to get up to your feet, making your way over to the scene, you see a flash of red hair as you approach and your stomach immediately turns. You begin to pick up the pace, fearing the worst. You knew Fred was over here, but was George too?
As the person comes into view, you feel your knees give out from under you. You knew it wasn’t George, you’ve been able to tell them apart since halfway through your first year. Without a doubt, the person laying there was Fred Weasley, his eyes wide and glazed over with a smile still spread across his lips. Percy was shaking him and screaming, saying Freds name through the cries. Before you could even process the situation, curses flew around your head. You throw yourself onto the ground and notice Percy shielding Fred. A flash of remembrance flickers across your face, the last time you were in this position, Cedric was laying on the ground.
You make your way over to him, “Percy, we have to move,”
As you look up, over towards the side of the building, you can just see the arms of giant spiders climbing up. “Percy, Now!” You yell, grabbing Fred under the armpits and beginning to pull. Percy notices what you’re doing and helps you, the two of you finding a safe place for Fred’s body. Without hesitation, Percy jumps up and sprints towards a tall man chasing some students, screaming his name.
You sat with your back against the wall, tears streaming down your face, however ready to fight any Death Eater that dares come close to Fred’s body. You want nothing more than to ensure George was safe, but you’re unsure how to tell him what happened to Fred. Suddenly, Voldemort’s voice rings out in your head, “You have fought valiantly, but in vain. I do not wish this. Every drop of magical blood spilled is a terrible waste. I therefore command my forces to retreat. In their absence, dispose of your dead with dignity…”
Slowly, you get up, looking around before you hear footsteps heading your way. You attempt to move Fred on your own, pulling him as far as you can before someone catches up with you. It’s someone coming around to assist the injured and help collect the dead. He offers you a sympathetic smile before helping you carry him to the Great Hall. He helps you lower him onto a stretcher, before heading back out. You sit with Fred’s head in your hands and place your forehead on his before letting out a choked sob.
“I just wish this was another one of your jokes,” You whisper, some part of you hoping he’ll start laughing again. You feel arms wrap around you, pulling you towards them. When you look up, George is quickly pulling you towards his chest, arms wrapping tightly around you. You can hear  his sobs as he buries his face in your hair. As you look over his shoulder, you see the rest of the Weasley family, Bill, Fleur, Percy, Ginny Molly and Arthur, all huddling around Fred’s lifeless body.
You stand there gently stroking George’s back, as Molly drapes herself over Fred, while Arthur strokes her hair. You hear the doors open and look back for a moment, looking at the injured and deceased spread across the hall. You look over at the doors and see Harry, Hermione and Ron walk into the room. As Ron approaches, George lets go of you to embrace his brother. You can see the horror in Harry’s eyes, as he looks around at the people who have been fighting for him, including Tonks and Lupin who were nearby Fred.
After what feels like hours, you can hear Voldemort’s voice in your head once again, “Harry Potter is dead. The battle is won. You have lost half your fighters. My Death Eaters outnumber you and the Boy Who Lived is finished. Kneel before us and you will be spared.”
Everyone begins to shuffle out of the hall and into the courtyard, where Voldemort and his followers have come into view. You cling to George’s arm and as Hagrid approaches, you see none other than Harry Potter in his arms.
“NO!” Ginny screams, rushing forward towards the crowd of Death Eaters. Arthur quickly grabs her and pulls her back.
“SILENCE!” Voldemort demands, silencing the group. “Stupid girl, Harry Potter is dead. From this day forth, you put your faith in me.”
You look up at George whose jaw is set and his eyes staring daggers into Voldemort. You squeeze his arm tightly, stepping as close as you can to him. Arthur stands wand ready towards the front of the group.
“Now is the time to declare yourself, come forward and join us or die,” Voldemort says, staring at the group. For a long moment, nobody moves until Draco Malfoy moves out of the group and towards his parents. Neville slowly limps forward, holding what looks like the sorting hat in his hand. You put your hand over your mouth, unbelieving that Neville would join their side.
“And who might you be young man?” Voldemort asks.
“Neville Longbottom,” Neville says looking at the ground, getting a laugh from the Death Eaters. “It doesn’t matter that Harry’s gone, people die everyday. Friends, family, yeah. But he’s still with us, in here, so’s Fred, Remus, Tonks, all of them. They didn’t die in vain,” Neville says holding his hand over his heart and looking back at you all.
He turns to Voldemort then, “But you will because you’re wrong,” and he pulls the sword of Godric Gryffindor out of the sorting hat and suddenly Harry falls out of Hagrid's arms shooting a spell at Voldemort's snake. You quickly pull your wand out as George grabs your arm and begins to pull you with him and back into the Great Hall.
You turn back, helping Kingsley put up barriers as you go, just as Neville gets hit with a knockback jinx and flies through the doorway. You bend down attempting to help Neville when Death Eaters begin to infiltrate the building. Suddenly, looming over you was Corban Yaxley. You pull out your wand, both of you about to cast a spell as George and Lee Jordan slam him to the floor. After taking him down, George and Lee walk over and help you to your feet before charging back into the fight. You see, Bellatrix attempt to cast a killing curse, barely missing Ginny. You quickly run to her aid, but Molly was already there, “NOT MY DAUGHTER YOU BITCH!” She yells, dueling against her. Just as she begins to cackle, Molly throws a curse at her, causing her to stop and then she’s gone. Meanwhile, Harry was able to defeat Voldemort, while everyone else took out the Death Eaters.
You and George sat on a bench off to the side, along with the rest of the Weasley family. Everyone hugs one another in both happiness and sadness. You caught a glimpse of Fred’s body and George looks the same way, causing you both to cry. You stay there for awhile, holding one another as the sun rises over Hogwarts and eventually you head back to the Burrow to mourn.

A/N: A short chapter leading up to a large part of the story!
Summary: After the events of the wedding, the three of you returned back to the shop.
Word Count: 1730
Warnings: A fluffy filler chapter to fill in the gaps before the Battle of Hogwarts
-------
The very next day, after the madness that was the end of Bill and Fleur’s wedding, George, Fred and yourself aparate back to Weasley Wizard Wheezes. Throughout the entire morning, everyone has been quiet, especially considering George and Fred’s talkative nature, which made everything seem less than normal.
As you walk into the empty shop, the only source of light coming from the large glass windows, it seems almost dim. The bright colors, although lit, do not fill you with the same happiness they have in the past. You slide your hand softly over the colorful banister as you ascend up the steps towards the flat, feeling the coldness radiating from the wood. You’re lagging behind the twins, quite a bit more than you realize, as you hear the small click from the door to the hallway leading to the flat. You’re not sure why, but you’re not quite ready to head inside, so instead of heading in that direction, you sit on the top step of the stairs, looking down at the floor below.
The fear of what’s to come, radiates throughout your body as you catch your breath, realizing the stairs are not the issue but the idea of what will come next in the coming months. Questions begin to ring throughout your head, will the “new” ministry constantly fill space in the shop, breathing down your necks? How long will it take Harry, Ron and Hermione to complete their goals and what will that mean for the rest of the wizarding world? Are the three of you truly safe now?
You do not want to be selfish either, with the idea floating around if you and George would ever make it to your wedding day. You are more than willing to fight, but you also want nothing more than to protect those closest to you, no matter what the cost. Your mind continues to race, almost causing you to miss the sound of the creaking wood as footsteps approach you.
“Are you alright, love?” You hear George ask as he sits down in the small space next to you, his long legs causing his knees to sit awkwardly taller than your own.
“What are we going to do, Georgie?” You ask, finally breaking away from your trance and looking up at him. He looks at you for a moment, his own eyes meeting yours with a sorrowful glance and places his arm around your waist pulling you in and resting his head onto yours.
“Well, tomorrow we’re going to open the shop and try to continue on like normal,”
“Like normal?” You try to make it sound more like a basic question, but it sounds almost strained and angry.
“As normal as we can. We’re still not sure what comes next and we may not know until it’s already here.” George sighs, not really sure how to make light of the situation.
“We’re going to participate in an actual battle, aren’t we?” You knew it was true, but part of you hopes that George would disagree and you could keep him here and Fred here and they would both be safe.
“I wish I could say no,” He says, sorrowful. All you do is nod your head slowly before getting up from the step, holding out your hand for George.
“Well, come on then.” You give George the best smile you can muster before he grabs your hand and follows you into the flat.
———————
The months continue to pass by as your routine continues to be the same daily. George attempts to discuss a future wedding date, but you always give the same excuse that you do not want it to be spoiled. He understands of course, it was his idea to wait until the War is over, but he wanted to try and get you out of your slump. But it was difficult considering that you were unable to really leave the shop or do anything else for fear of being deemed suspicious. It felt as though all the dreams you had for the future were stunted before they could even begin.
However, one night, you were doing your usual routine of counting the money in the register when you heard the familiar crack of someone apparating nearby. You ran to the window, only to see Bill Weasley, heading in your direction. You open the door for him, just as George and Fred catch up to you.
“Bill, what are you doing here?” Fred asks, looking confused.
“Ron’s been captured by snatchers along with Harry and Hermione,” Bill calmly says. “You to grab whatever you need and head to Aunt Muriel’s, no questions.”
You can see the twins hesitate for just a moment but they just nod as they head up into the flat. You look at Bill for a moment, who just gives you a nod before exiting the shop and disapparating away. You slowly make your way up the stairs and walk into your bedroom where George is packing up his luggage case, noticing he also pulled out one for you. You add some clothes and a few without actually saying a word. Before leaving the room, you grab your Pygmy puff and bring him along with you, considering you’re not sure how long you’ll be gone. George leaves and you can hear himself and Fred hatching a plan to continue their business. You watch as they run down into the shop, grabbing various products and materials, you slowly follow behind watching the scene unfold. It felt almost like the three of you were back at Hogwarts where they were attempting to run their shop out of their custom designed Weasley & Weasley briefcase.
You smile as you stand by the door, while you’re upset about the circumstances, watching the two boys run around the shop made you laugh. Eventually, the two approach chatting happily about all the possibilities of keeping the shop open while you are away. The three of you step outside and apparate to Aunt Mueriel’s house.
You slowly open the front door, calling out as you do in an attempt to not startle anyone. You slowly make your way towards the living area, where Ginny runs up to you.
“I thought you were back at Hogwarts?” You ask, wrapping her in a tight hug,
“Easter holiday,” She says, returning the hug. When you part, you can see Arthur and Molly walking up with Aunt Mueriel sitting in a chair nearby. Arthur clasps each boys shoulder as Molly hugs you all.
“Thank you for not fighting Bill about coming here,” She says. “We thought you might not want to leave the shop.”
“Bill made it sound awfully important,” George says, looking over at Fred.
“Don’t worry, we came prepared,” Fred’s face shifts into a smirk.
“You boys better not be up to anything,” Molly says with a stern look, before shifting to you. “Y/N dear, you’ll be sharing a room with Ginny, while Fred and George will be sleeping down here.”
“Aunt Muriel, you still have that back room, right?” Fred asks. The old woman raises her eyebrow at Fred, determining on how to answer.
“You two best not be pulling any of your mischievous tricks,” She glares at the boys, but points over to the door in the back of the living room. “Go on, then”
You take your bag upstairs to the room you’re sharing with Ginny before heading back down to see what George and Fred are up too. Immediately, when you walk into the room, something flys towards you, causing you to duck. It hits the door with a thud and you can almost feel Aunt Muriel’s disapproval in the other room.
“What in the world are you two doing?” You ask, stepping over something on the ground.
“Just because we can’t be at the shop, doesn’t mean we can’t work!” Fred exclaims, putting something into a package.
“Yeah, the business must continue!” George says, doing the same.
“You’re both ridiculous!” You yell, but there’s something different about the two of them, as if the passion they’ve always had has been rekindled. George’s smile spreads all the way across his face and Fred cannot seem to stop laughing. Even with all the negative things happening, they both manage to smile because it's what they do best. You walk over to George and plant a small kiss on his cheek, causing him to smile even wider and you leave the room allowing them to continue their work.
Eventually, Bill informed everyone that Ron, Harry, Hermione, Luna, Dean, Ollivander and a goblin named,Griphook were all safe. Ollivander eventually joins the rest of you at Aunt Muriel’s but Griphook apparently insisted on staying with Harry. Which Bill informs all of you when the trio and Griphook leave the safe house, which causes silence throughout the house.
The next day, you’re standing in your room, looking out the window when you hear a small knock on the door. You open it slowly, revealing George standing in the hall. Before you can say anything, George’s lips are connecting with your own, causing you to stumble back a bit. His hands wrap tightly around your waist keeping you steady as your arms wrap around his neck, embracing the full force of the kiss.
You both pull away breathless, “George-“
“I love you, Y/N” He says, a small smile on his face.
“I love you too, but what’s wrong?” You ask, raising an eyebrow.
“I-“ He pauses for a moment, considering his next words carefully. “Truthfully, I’m worried about the next few days.”
“Me too.” You whisper, putting your hands on his cheeks and looking into his face.
“It could be tomorrow or even the day after, but I just want you to know how much I care about you,” He puts his hand over yours and plants a kiss on your forehead.
“We’ll take it on together,” You smile at him, when Ginny bursts into the room. You both look over at her and she holds up a token that the two of you remember very clearly from your 7th year, the token from Dumbledore’s army.
“It’s time.” She says as Fred approaches behind her, looking determined.

A/N: Thank you again for your patience while I write this fic, I feel the ending seems a bit rushed, but we’re gonna go with it!
Summary: It’s the day of Bill and Fleur’s Wedding
Word Count: 3006
Warnings: Mentions of injury, blood and otherwise just fluff
-------
The Wedding of William Weasley and Fleur Delacour
You stand in front of the mirror taking a look at the purple floral dress you’re wearing that is meant to match George’s vest. You break away when you hear the bedroom door open and George walks into the bedroom, a wide smile spread across his face. Before you can react, his arms are wrapping tightly around your waist, pulling your hips towards him. You can feel the warmth of his hands on your back as you look up at him.
“You look gorgeous, love.” He says, planting a soft kiss on your lips. You bring your arms up and around his neck as you pull him in for a deeper kiss.
“And you look dashing,” You smile up at him, his head is wrapped tightly in gauze to protect the wound where his ear once was. It didn’t matter to you, he was still as handsome as ever and the way the gauze made his hair stand up, made you laugh. George takes a step back and squeezes your hand before exiting to the bathroom and beginning to brush his teeth.
As you begin to walk down stairs, you notice George following close behind, still brushing his teeth. You notice Harry zipping up Ginny’s dress and look over to George, putting your finger up to your mouth for him to be quiet. The two of you sneak around the table and make your way to the counter, each grabbing a cup of coffee. You lean against the counter next to George and raise an eyebrow at Ginny as the two pull away from their kiss. You bring your coffee cup up to your mouth to try and hide the smirk on your face.
“Morning,” George says, winking and then lifting his own cup to his lips. They both look away, embarrassed and exit the room.
“Well that wa-“ You look over at George, suddenly noticing his tooth brush, bursting into laughter. “Is that your tooth brush?”
“It’s the perfect holder,” George laughs, drinking more from his mug. Suddenly, Arthur comes in and looks at the two of you.
“George, do you mind helping with the tent in the garden?” He asks.
“Be there in a minute,” George calls out before Arthur quickly leaves the room. “See you later?”
“Of course,” You say, kissing him lightly and heading up to help with the rest of the preparations. You’re upstairs, helping Molly grab some decorations when you see the boys using their wands to lift the tent up. You notice George and a small smile creeps onto your lips.
“I’ve never seen either of you so happy,” Molly says, startling you a bit a winking as she heads back downstairs. Suddenly, out in the distance you notice the Minister of Magic walking towards the men.
“Molly, do you know why the Minister of Magic is here?” You ask, quickly following her down the stairs.
“The Minister? I can’t see why he would be,” Molly walks towards the door, opening it to reveal the Minister before her. “Oh! To what do we owe the pleasure?”
“I apologize for the intrusion,” The Minister says, stepping through the door, “However, I would like to speak with Mr. Harry Potter, Mr. Ronald Weasley and Miss Hermione Granger,”
“Why, of course,” She says leading him into the living area and piling more decorations into your hands. You walk into the newly set-up tent and place the decorations in their proper spots. You take note when the Minister leaves and smile at George as he greets the first guests. You stand next to him, welcoming everyone who walks by and then sending them with one of the men escorting people to their seats.
Fred walks up to you with George close behind, “When I get married, I won’t be bothering with any of this nonsense.” He says as he tugs at the collar of his dress robes. “Wear whatever you like and I’ll put a full Body-bind curse on Mum.”
“She wasn’t so bad this morning, considering.” George replies.
“Fred, you actually need a girlfriend to consider marriage.” You tease.
“Well, some of Fleur’s Veela cousins will be attending,” Fred winks before noticing them walking towards you. He rushes over to them, “Here – permettez-moi to assister vous,” to which the girls giggle and follow Fred inside.
“Why do I feel he learned the most flattering French possible just for this moment,” You laugh, turning towards George.
“That seems likely,” George smiles before greeting the group of middle-aged witches and showing them to their seats. You chat happily with anyone waiting in the queue for one of the others to show them to their seats. Eventually an elderly witch approaches you, one who you had only met about three times at Christmases during your first three years before Fred and George set off the Dungbomb under her chair.
“Welcome Muriel,” You say with a wide smile.
“Ah, George’s fiancé,” She says, looking you up and down. Thankfully, before any of the insults could come Ron steps out to greet her. You let out a sigh of relief as Ron escorts her away. Eventually George comes back with Fred just as Hermione was talking about Muriel’s insults.
“She just told me my ears were lopsided,” George says, with mock offense.
“I’m surprised she could tell with the wrapping,” You laugh before hearing Hermione’s shriek. You look up and see none other than Viktor Krum walking towards the group. As Harry leads him to his seat, you all follow quickly behind noticing Arthur and Molly coming this way.
“Everyone to their seats, the bride is coming,” You say quickly as George takes your hand and takes you with him and Fred to your seats. As Fleur and Bill stand at the front, smiling at each other happily, George squeezes your hand tightly and leans towards you.
“That’ll be us next,” He whispers.
“I can’t be sure Fred isn’t going to run off and marry one of Fleur’s cousins,” You joke, receiving a laugh from George and a wink from Fred. You can hear sobbing coming from Molly and Fleur’s mum as well as a few others. The wizard performing the ceremony lifts his want above Bill and Fleur’s head, allowing a shower of silver stars to fall around them, pulling an applause from the crowd.
“Ladies and gentlemen, if you would please stand up!” The wizard yells, waving his wand and completely transforming the tent. Waiters suddenly enter, carrying snacks and various beverages, offering them to the attendees. You grab two glasses of direwhisky as a waiter walks by and hand one to George.
“Thanks love,” He says before planting a kiss on your head and taking a sip.
“Couldn’t of grabbed me one?” Fred says, looking offended. You roll your eyes and hand him yours before stealing a drink off of George’s. Fred immediately saw Fleur’s cousins sitting at a table and makes his way over to them. George gets pulled into a conversation with someone asking about his injury. You stand around meeting family members you have never met before and watch Bill and Fleur’s first dance.
You’re standing off to the side, chatting with Lee when George approaches.
“Lee, do you mind if I steal my fiancé from you for a dance?” George asks, a wide smile on his face over the word fiancé.
“Congrats,” Lee says with a smile, before gesturing towards you.  “By all means.”
You grab George’s hand and allow him to pull you towards the dance floor for a slow song.
“I like the sound of that, your fiancé,” You say, swaying to the music with his arms around you.
“Mm, I’ll like the sound of Y/N Weasley more,” He says, holding you close to him. You smile at the thought, pressing your face into his shoulder. “I should’ve danced with you a long time ago,”
“What do you mean?” You look up at him curious.
“We should’ve danced together at the Yule Ball,” George says, a sheepish smile on his face.
“Perhaps,” You think for a moment, recalling all the memories that led you here, into George’s arm at a beautiful wedding. “However, our story is the reason we’re together now and I am not sure I would trade that for anything,”
He smiles down at you, planting a kiss on the top of your head, “Me either,”
The song ends and turns into something more upbeat, so George and yourself break off and grab drinks and find Fred still talking to Lee through the crowd.
“I can’t believe Bill is married and my own twin is headed in the same direction,” He takes a long sip of his drink, rolling his eyes. “Meanwhile, I’m carrying our entire business on my back, without a pretty girl by my side,”
You laugh at the joke, “Well, if you hadn’t told Angelina that you needed to focus on your backbreaking business, perhaps you would. Or even if you weren’t so entranced by Fleur’s veela cousins,”
“She’s got you there, mate!” George lets out a laugh of his own, before putting his arm around you and winking, “Don’t worry, Y/N and I will pick up our slack I’m sure,”
“We could always convince Lee to actually work in the shop instead of only helping with the products,” You look over at him with an eyebrow raised. Lee goes to respond before you all see it, Kingsley’s patronus breaking through the roof of the tent and landing right in the middle of the dance floor. Everyone quickly jumped back and you can feel George’s arm wrapping tighter around you as Kingsley’s voice echoes.
The crowd panicked but you made sure you keep your hand firm in George’s, holding your wand out with the other. The lights from spells and curses were whizzing around over your head. Whenever a Death Eater got to close, one of the four would cast a spell, sending them backwards. You notice Hermione, Ron and Harry in the crowd and see them disapparate away from the wedding causing you to sigh in relief.
Lee, George, Fred and yourself are all standing with your backs facing on another, casting spell after spell. However, eventually the Death Eaters swarm you, pointing their wands at you. Unfortunately, there were more Death Eaters than Order members, allowing them to easily surround you all. You look around, hoping someone is still fighting and winning. Instead, the patrons who are left are lining up in rows on the dance floor. They flick their wands in at direction, motioning for the four of you to line up.
George stood in front of you, while Fred and Lee stood behind you, glaring at everyone who looked in their direction. You notice that anyone who was brought back was sat down in a grassy area outside the tent, while more Death Eaters hover over them.
“Ah, another Weasley,” One of the Death Eaters says in disgust, stopping in front of George. “Been seeing a lot of you in these interrogations. Maybe we ought to dwindle your numbers, especially since there seems to be two of you.” He points his wand at George.
“Don’t touch him!” You yell and begin to step forward, receiving a glare from George. Fred pulls you back, his eyes wide.
“Well, well, who do we have here?” The man looks at you, wand still pointing at George but slowly switches it over to you, face breaking into a menacing smile. “Not a Weasley, perhaps just another blood traitor?”
You hear someone call out from the house, another Death eater, “Well, I guess your next sweetheart,” He continues before grabbing your arm roughly and pulls you towards the house.
George steps in to intervene, but another Death Eater steps in the way. “Now now, I wouldn’t do anything too hasty if you want her to come back alive,” The other one says before you’re out of ear shot. You attempt to give George a, I’ll be okay, look. But you’re not sure if it reaches your eyes.
You’re sat at the kitchen table and left alone for a few moments, wandless. You know that if you try to make any movements, it will just make the entire situation worse. You could hear things crashing above, suggesting they were rummaging through the house, trying to find Harry. So you sat there, until out of the corner of your eye, you noticed a towering man with extra hair.
“Why, ‘ello darling,” Fenrir Greyback said as he walks into the room along with the same Death Eater from earlier. Your mind immediately goes to the two people who have had encounters with Greyback, Bill and Remus, immediately filling you with concern. But, you try and swallow it down.
“This gig seems a little beneath you,” You say, looking up at Fenrir. “Harassing a wedding, just to find one wizard? Seems a bit low, if you ask me.”
“I don’t believe I asked you, girl.” He growls before continuing out the door, nodding at the other Death Eater before he does.
“Now, let’s make this easy and you can go back unharmed,” He smiles as he sits in the chair next to you. “Where is Harry Potter?”
“How would I know?” You ask, glaring at the man.
“We have reason to believe he was at the wedding,” He places his hands on the table, revealing a knife in one of his hands. “And we want to know where he went.”
“Well, he wasn’t here and even if he was, he wouldn’t have told me where he was going,” You exaggerate the me, “We were never close, I haven’t even seen him since I left Hogwarts,”
You can hear someone else being brought into the house now and you notice a faint voice, Charlie. You don’t break your gaze with the man, not wanting to seem weak. The man just leaves the menacing grin on his face.
“I really wish I didn’t have to ruin a pretty face,” He says before quickly slicing up his knife, the tip barely going across your cheek, just enough to draw blood. You hold in a scream, knowing it would set George off to hear it, instead your face fills with anger. Instead, your gaze does not falter.
“If I knew where bloody Harry Potter was, I would tell you!” You’re trying to keep your voice neutral, but you can fill the anger welling up. He continues to press the subject until he realized you’re not going to give any important information. He shoves you outside forcibly, before going to grab the next guest. A different Death Eater pulls you over to the group that is sitting and plants you next to Tonks, who immediately wraps you into a hug when she notices the cut on your face and the tears in your eyes.
You glance over at the few people left who are still standing and see Fred, but not George or Lee. Fred looks like he’s going to lose it, but keeps his cool until Charlie is brought out and he is taken in. Charlie sits next to you and Tonks, staying completely silent, but gives your hand a squeeze. Eventually Lee is brought out and then George, but they purposely seat them on the opposite side of you.
George meets your gaze as he walks by and notices your tears and cut, causing his expression to immediately go sour. You mouth a quick, “Don’t” before he’s taken out of view. You sit there in the cold as hours pass by as more people are interrogated and then placed outside. However, the Death Eaters eventually realize that no one here actually knows where Harry is, and leave without getting any answers.
Many people left, returning to their homes, some dejected and others injured. George met your eyes before rushing over to you and wrapping you in his arms and burying his head in your hair. He doesn’t question or attempt to push any subjects revolving the night any further.
Those who stuck around enter the front door to the Burrow and notice the house in complete disarray. The curtains were ripped, pieces of decorations were scattered across the floor and there were muddy footsteps planted throughout. Molly looks around before slowly sinking back into her chair. You got your wand back after the Death Eaters had left and were currently walking around cleaning up as much as you could. The others joined in, waving their wands or just picking a few things up here and there. You noticed Remus and Arthur talking in hushed tones in the corner.
The house eventually came together as much as possible, but you all knew you wouldn’t be staying long. You stood in the shower and let the water wash over you. George cast a spell on your face in order to heal the cut on your face, but a faint blemished remained. He and Fred were already showered and laying in their beds, whispering lightly when you walk into the room. They were whispering lightly to each other, but stopped when you walked into the room.
George’s arms are already open and waiting for you to crawl into the bed with him. “We’re going to be heading back to the shop tomorrow,” George says with a bit of relief in his voice, but lowered it as if someone was listening, “The Death Eaters noticed Ron sick upstairs, so they have no reason to suspect us,”
You nod your head, remembering the Weasley’s had transfigured a ghoul to look like Ron for this exact reason. “Well, I’m glad to be heading home,”
“Me too,” He says planting a kiss on your forehead. You barely slept that night, as the fears from the day kept creeping into your mind. You knew that in the coming months, you were going to need to lay low and quietly continue your work at the shop until Harry and the others completed their task.

A/N: Thank you for your patience while I write this fic!
Summary: Y/N joins the Order to help transport Harry to the Burrow
Word Count: 2161

-------
The Battle of the Seven Potters
You’re standing outside of Harry’s house, holding George’s hand and watching as everyone else enters through the front. As you’re about to follow them in, George grabs your hand and holds you back slightly. “Are you alright, George?” You ask, looking at him. Before responding he pulls you close to him and kisses you deeply. It sends goosebumps throughout your body and leaves you breathless.
“Just be careful,” He says before grabbing your hand and following everyone else inside.
Harry greets everyone as they come in, you offer him a hug before entering a wide room. Everyone began chatting with Harry before Mad-eye broke the silence, “We have time for the cozy cut-up later! We’ve got to get the hell out of here,” and then began to explain the trace to Harry.
“We use brooms, Threstrels and go in pairs, so that they cannot detect the trace and if there’s anyone waiting for us out there, which I reckon there will be, they won’t know which Harry Potter is the real one,” Mad-eye smirks and reaches into his pocket, pulling out a gold flask, “I believe you’re familiar with this particular brew?”
“No absolutely not,” Harry protests. “If you think I’m going to let everyone risk their lives for me, I –“
“Never done that before, have we?” Ron teases.
“Well, none of us really fancy is mate,” Fred says, a mischievous frown on his face.
“Imagine if something went wrong and we ended up a scrawny, specky git forever,” George laughs.
“Not if I don’t corporate,” Harry was not smiling at all.
“Because thirteen people against the only person here who is can’t even use magic,” You raise an eye brown to Harry, who’s face seems to realize that.
“Everyone here is of age, Potter and they all agreed to take the risk,” Mad-eye was beginning to look impatient. “Alright, Granger,”
Quickly Hermione walks forward and plucks a hair out of Harry’s head, placing it into Mad-eyes flask. Seven of you stand in a line, Fred, George, yourself, Fleur, Ron and Hermione. Mad-eye walks over to Fred, handing him the flask, “Fair warning; it tastes like Goblin piss,”
“Have lots of experience with that Mad-eye?” Fred teases, receiving a angry look from Mad-eye, but getting a small giggle out of you and George. “Just trying to diffuse the tension,”
Reluctantly, George passes you the bottle, which you take a sip off before passing it to Fleur. You grimace at the taste, as your body shoots upward slightly to match Harry’s height. Your features change, causing you to look exactly like Harry. You look over at George and then Fred and the three of you immediately start laughing.
“After all these years of spending time together, we finally look like triplets,” You laugh, to which the boys look at each other and say “Wow – we’re identical!”
Mad-eye quickly throws some clothes down and asks everyone to change into them so that everyone matches Harry. “Bill, don’t look at me – I’m ‘ideous” Fleur says, undressing by him.
“Y/N!” You heard Mad-eye yell from the front of the room. “You’re with me, by broom!”
You immediately knew which Harry was George because one closest to you, tensed up. George knew that if anything was to happen to you, Mad-eye was not going to save you. You whisper quietly, so only the two of you could hear, “I’ll be fine, Georgie,” and with that you all walk outside.
You walk over to Mad-eye’s broom, where he’s standing there waiting for you. Instead of Mad-eye’s usual seat broom, he opted for a regular model, so the two of you could fit easier. You cautiously climbing onto the broom behind him. You notice the Harry that was riding with Remus staring at you, so you offer him a smile and a thumbs up, knowing it was George, who attempts to give you the same. You mouth “I love you” and get one back before listening to Mad-eye reiterating the plan to you, explaining where the portkey is that the two of you are going to. You nod your head, taking in the information he gave you.
“Alright, head for your portkey’s and good luck!” Mad-eye shouts before everyone takes off. The two of you take off last and are immediately ambushed by over thirty Death Eaters all surrounding you. Mad-eye manages to weave around any spells cast your way as you shout more at them, stupefying a Death Eater that came close. Suddenly, a grey man without a nose emerges in a puff of black smoke and you immediately knew it was none other than Voldemort himself.
Mad-eye notices too and quickly pushes forward on the broom, attempting to get away. But Voldemort was faster, coming straight for the two of you. You saw a look on Mad-eye’s face you had never seen before and you saw the flash of green light heading straight for you.
“Grab on to the broom!” Mad-eye yells before jerking the handle backwards allowing the full-force of the spell to hit him in the face. You heard someone yell out as Mad-eye fell backwards causing you to begin spiraling downwards, out of the sky. Your hands slip causing you to fall below the cloud cover, but you immediately yell “Accio Broom!”, causing the broom to return to you at a fast rate. You hug it, letting the full force of it hit you, as long as you didn’t fall and hit the ground, you didn’t mind. You wheeze on the impact, but manage to gain your balance. You can see the light above in the clouds from the curses being cast, yet no one came after you. You assume they either realized you weren’t the real Harry or that you fell to your death.
You fly to your portkey, coughing the entire way with pain hitting your chest. A broken rib, maybe? Or a bruise? It did not matter at that moment; you just need to reach your portkey so you could get to the Burrow. You eventually made it, quickly grabbing it and immediately being transported outside the Burrow’s barrier. There was no one outside when you got there, but Remus and Bill were outside immediately, both of their wands pointed in your direction.
“Y/N?” Bill asks, quickly running up to you and grabbing your shoulders. You weren’t able to prevent the tears from welling up in your eyes.
“Mad-eye saved my life,” You say, letting out a choked sob. “Is everyone else alright?”
You were only met with sad looks from both men. You immediately shook out of Bill’s grip and quickly ran into the house, noticing a small crowd of people taking over the space in front of you, blocking your vision. As you make your way through, you can hear Fred’s voice.
“How’re you feeling Georgie?” Fred asks.
“Saint-like,” He whispers.
“Come again?” Fred says, face filled with confusion.
“Saint-like, I’m holey,” George’s mouth has a small smile, “I’m holey, Fred. Get it?”
“The whole wide world of ear related humor and you go for, I’m holey? That’s pathetic,” Fred smiles.
“Reckon I’m still better looking than you,” George smile widens as he looks past Fred and notices you standing there, covered in soot. He winks at you and lets out a small sigh of relief.
“I can agree with that,” You say, squatting down next to Fred who pulls you into a side hug.
Molly and yourself quickly got to work to help with George’s ear as much as possible. You all knew there was nothing you could do to bring it back, but you could still take care of the wound. Eventually, George was able to get some sleep, while everyone was crowded around the living area besides Bill and Remus who went to look for Mad-eye’s body and Kingsley who returned to the ministry.
As the night wore on, everyone eventually left and settled into their own rooms or wherever they were sleeping. You ensured Molly you would stay incase George needs anything and sat with your back resting against the couch. You rub your hands over your face, completely taking in everything that had happened.
“Y/N,” You hear George whisper behind you.
“Yes, Georgie? Are you alright?” You ask, turning slightly to look at the boy. You look at the bandage that is tightly wrapped around his head and notice it was getting a little red around his wound. So, you quickly grab some gauze and begin to change the bandages.
“Could you help me to my room?” George asks, wincing slightly.
“Of course, Georgie,” You smile at him and allow him to use your body to support his weight once you finish wrapping. Slowly, the two of you make your way up the stairs.
“When you didn’t show up right away, I was so worried I lost you,” George whispers, gripping you a little tighter.
“I’m here, Georgie,” You squeeze his arm and offer him a reassuring smile, “I’m not going to let some pesky Death Eater take me down.”
You see a small smile form on George’s lips through the darkness as you quietly open the door to his room. You look around, noticing Fred is nowhere to be seen. Slowly, you lead George to his bed before, lighting a nearby light. You turn back to George and see him sitting on his bed with a wide smile on his face. You look down at his hands and notice a small box, containing a small but gorgeous ring.
“Y/N Y/L/N,” He says, smile not faltering.
“George -,” He holds up a shaky hand, asking you to stop speaking.
“This isn’t out of fear or concern,” George begins, “To be honest with you, I’ve been planning this for a long time and bought the ring a few days before we opened the shop. So, Y/N Y/L/N, will you marry me?”
You look at George, a boy you had met so many years ago when you felt so alone in the world. You remember the first day you met him and Fred when you all were so young. You look at him now, his head wrapped in bandages and tired eyes, but the cutest grin spread across his face. You smile back at him now, nodding your head yes, grabbing his head in your hands while being careful to avoid his injury and placing a kiss on his lips. He places the ring on your finger before wrapping his arms around you and pulling you next to him on the bed.
“I doubt we’re getting married anytime soon, but I wanted to make sure you had a memento to remind you how much I love you,” George smiles at you, tucking a stray hair behind your ear.
“How long have you been thinking about this?” You ask, looking at him.
“Honestly, I’ve thought about marrying you since our fifth year,” His face looks a little embarrassed now, knowing how long ago that was.
“Our fifth year?” You whisper loudly, trying not to wake anyone.
“I kind of had this plan that Fred and I would open our shop and then I would have enough money to provide for us and everything else would just fall into place,”
“That’s sweet, Georgie. But I never needed someone to provide for me, I just needed someone to be there,” You smile up at George, kissing him lightly. He smiles back at you, eyes looking even more tired. “You should get some rest,”
He nods his head, eyes already closing, “I love you, Y/N”
“I love you too, Georgie.” And the two of you drift off to sleep.
--------
You wake up the next morning, still huddled up in George’s arms. You can hear the soft breaths coming from him as you plant a small kiss on his chin. He opens his eyes slowly a smile immediately forming on his lips.
“Good morning,” He says sleepily pulling you closer.
“Good morning,” You respond with a wide smile. Eventually the two of you make your way down stairs and are immediately greeted by Fred.
“Did you do it?” Fred asks, looking between the two of you. George immediately grabs your hand and holds it up, revealing the ring shining on your finger. Fred pulls you into a hug, “You’ll finally be a true Weasley!”
You roll your eyes and notice Molly rounding the corner, “What’s this about Y/N being a Weasley?” She looks up as she sees the ring on your finger and she lets out an excited noise. She pulls Fred out of the way and wraps you and George in a hug.
“You two are engaged!” She yells, causing even more people to slowly trickle into the room. Everyone excitedly hugs the two of you and offers congratulations. As the excitement begins to die down, you all begin to help setting up for Bill and Fleurs wedding in a few days.

Summary: Y/N gets asks to help out during the Battle at the Astronomy Tower.
Word Count: 1940

-------
The Battle at the Astronomy Tower
You’re cleaning up the shop after the last customer has left for the day. Currently, it is just yourself, Fred and George. It was June now and all the snow had melted long before. In the last six months since Christmas, you had fallen into a sort of routine, working in the shop some days, studying others and mostly spending time with the twins. But usually, George and Fred were busy running a very successful shop.
You look out the window and notice Bill Weasley heading towards the door. Your mind immediately went to the worst possible scenario. You look around at first, noticing that Fred and George were in the office, probably dealing with the till. You quickly walk over and open the door, letting him walk inside.
“I can’t believe I haven’t visited yet,” Bill says with a wide smile checking out the shop. “Bill, is everything okay?” You ask, meeting his eyes as he observes.
“Sorry, yes, everything is fine,” Bill looks around the store, taking in the décor. “Where are George and Fred?”
“In the office,” You look at him confused, “Why are you here?”
“Some Order members have been asked to assist with patrolling Hogwarts tomorrow and you’re one of the names on Dumbledore’s list,” Bill says finally making eye contact with you.
“He wants me to help with the Order?” You ask, “What about George? Or Fred?”
“He only asked for you,” Bill looks over to the office, where George and Fred were chatting as they exited. “He wanted to keep the numbers low, plus they have a shop to run. Remus informed him that you were interested in helping,”
Fred seems to notice Bill first, also giving him a look of confusion and pointing, which gains George’s attention. “Bill, what are you doing here?” Fred asks, coming down the stairs with George in tow.
“A brother can’t come visit his other brothers shop?” He asks, a smirk on his face.
“Not with your curse-breaker schedule,” George teases.
“If you must know, I am recruiting Y/N for an Order mission,” Bill looks at his brothers, noticing the smile immediately leaving George’s mouth.
“She’s not going on an Order missions without me,” George says crossing his arms.
“Well, unfortunately you weren’t invited and its Y/N’s choice,” Bill gives him a similar look. “George, I know where you’re coming from. I would not want Fleur on this mission, but I wouldn’t stop her either,”
“I’ll go,” You say, looking at George whose eyes were beginning to fill with worry. You walk over to him, taking his hand in yours and meeting his eyes. “I’ll be okay, plus I’ll be with Bill,”
George lets out a sigh and whispers, “Okay,” before giving your hand a squeeze.
“I’ll watch out for her,” Bill says, “Now, how about you show me around?”
Fred begins walking his brother around the shop, showing him all the products and different displays they have set up. George looks at you and plants a kiss on your forehead before following the two men throughout the store. You watch as they all chat happily around the store, George occasionally casting a glance back at you.
Bill and you left the next day, along with Tonks and Remus and the four of you, along with some Hogwarts professors were tasked with patrolling the corridors. You notice the Hermione and Luna stationed themselves outside of Snape’s office and Ron, Neville and Ginny were outside the Room of Requirement. When you walk by one of them, you’d offer a nod before continuing farther down. Eventually, Bill and yourself station yourselves outside the Astronomy Tower.
“So, Fleur Delacour?” You ask, looking over at Bill with a smirk.
“Fleur Delacour,” He replies with a smile. “I only wish my family would get on board with the idea.”
“They’ll come around, eventually.” You laugh, suddenly noticing something dark causing it to halt. “Do you see that?”
“What?” Bill says, looking down the corridor. But, the screaming of spells ensued and suddenly you knew exactly what it was.
“Peruvian Instant Darkness Powder,” You whisper, running towards the now fading blackness. You were furious in that moment, you knew Fred and George could not know every person who bought something from their shop, but now it was getting dangerous. Then almost as if it was in slow motion, none other than Fenir Greyback was in front of you. Suddenly, you recognized him as one of the people who attacked Diagon Alley.
“Well, I’ve seen you at that Weasley shop, friends with blood traitors, are we?” Greyback smiles, menacingly, bringing his face close to yours. You need to raise your wand, but you feel almost unable to move.  “STUPEFY!” You hear from somewhere behind you, causing you to duck. The spell goes over your head, but the darkness causes it to miss, hitting the wall instead, but gaining Greyback’s attention.
“Ah, another pest.” Greyback quickly moves past you, where you attempt the spell but he is able to evade it. You can see flashes of light as other Order members and Death Eaters cast curses left and right. You’re about to run after Greyback when there’s a flash and a spell hits you, sending you backwards into the wall, your head smacks into it and you’re unable to move your wand hand. You can barely make out Greyback about to attack Bill, when your vision blurs significantly.
There’s a faint ringing in your ears, but you can hear more curses and footsteps and you try to open your eyes. All you can see is red hair on the ground and when you try to raise your head you can see Neville running after one of the Death Eaters, but immediately got thrown up into the air. You muster all the strength you have left and move your wand and shout, “Arresto Momentum!” as loud as you can, attempting to cushion his fall as much as possible. The pain in your arm continues, but you try to make your way towards Bill, but suddenly everything is dark. You’re beginning to regain consciousness as you feel two people transfer you onto a bed. You stir slightly as Madam Pomfrey quickly comes by your side, “Oh, Y/N. You seem to just have a bit of a concussion, dear”
You nod your head slightly in response as she has you drink a gross tasting potion that was supposed to keep you awake, known as a Wideye potion as well as a Vitamix potion to help you regain some energy. “Thank you,” You whisper, suddenly remembering what you saw. “Where Bill? Or Neville? Or the others?” You ask, suddenly completely aware.
Madam Pomfrey looks at you sadly at first, “Neville is already in bed, sleeping. He managed to land without getting hurt too badly,” then she closes her eyes and takes in a breath, “Bill suffered from lacerations to the face, I’ve been trying to clean them up, but almost nothing seems to work”
You hear footsteps fast approaching the Hospital Wing and you pull out your wand, however Tonks, Remus, Ron, Hermione, Luna, and Ginny ran inside. “Is everyone else alright?” You ask, sliding out of the bed.
“Everyone else?” Hermione asks with worry, suddenly taking note of Bill laying in the Hospital bed as Madam Pomfrey applies an ointment. Ginny left to go find Harry and came back a few moments later. You were sat close to Bill’s bed, as everyone else stood around, watching Madam Pomfrey try to heal him. Eventually, Harry and Ginny return and Harry notices the almost unrecognizable state of Bill’s face.
“He won’t turn, will he?” Ron asks, looking at Remus.
“No, I don’t think Bill will be a true werewolf,” He responds.
“He only fought those maniacs on Dumbledore’s orders, Dumbledore might know something that’ll work,”
“Ron – Dumbledore’s dead,” Ginny says, silencing the room except for Remus.
“No!” He tells, looking wide-eyed at Harry and Ginny, hoping one of them will take it back. You almost couldn’t believe it, how could he be dead?
“How did he die?” Tonks whispers, looking down at the ground.
“Snape killed him,” Harry says before attempting to get through the whole story before Professor McGonagall bursts back through the doors.
“Molly and Arthur are on their way,” She says as she comes into the room and Harry begins to retell the story of what happened. You began to get lost in thought, drowing out the chatter around you, focusing on Bill’s face. Bill, who got Greyback away from you, that could have been your face instead. Part of you hoped that George would show up too, but you also were worried of his reaction once he got here.
You listen to them go back and forth about Snape’s role in Dumbledore’s death, when the conversation switches over to Draco Malfoy.
“He used Peruvian Instant Darkness Powder,” You say crossing your arms, “I need to talk to them about knowing where their products go,”
“Nothing worked in the darkness,” Hermione says and continues recalling the events.
“We were losing,” Tonks says quietly, “Neville and Y/N were hurt and Bill had been savaged by Greyback and the Malfoy boy had vanished,”
The doors burst open, causing the whole room to jump and in came Molly, Arthur, Fleur and George quickly making their way towards the group. You were instantly out of your chair, your head throbbing, but it didn’t matter. You quickly close the distance between George and yourself, letting him wrap his arms around you and lift you slightly off the ground. George buries his face in your neck and holds onto you tightly, both to not look at Bill and in relief that you’re okay.
“I was so worried,” George says softly, breaking the silence between you. His voice was soft and pained.
“I know, I’m sorry.” You whisper, when suddenly you hear Fleur shouting.
“What do you mean, ‘e was going to be married?” Fleur was visibly angry now, voice growing louder, “You thought I would not weesh to marry him? Or per’aps, you hoped?
Your eyes got wide and you and George both look over at the commotion. “What do I care how he looks? All these scars show my husband is brave!” Fleur quickly grabs the ointment out of Molly’s hands and begins to apply it. Everyone was extremely still, staring wide-eyed at the situation.
“Our Great Aunt Muriel has a beautiful tiara that would look lovely with your hair,” Molly says after a long silence.
“I am sure zat will be lovely,” Fleur responds, not looking up from the task. But then suddenly, Molly and Fleur embraced one another and began to cry.
You can hear Tonks yell out about how Fleur still loves Bill even though he’s bitten and Remus attempts to diffuse the situation. However, Molly and Professor McGonagall get on his case before Hagrid walks in and talks to McGonagall and Harry.
You sit back in your chair with George on the other side of you, unable to take in everything you just heard with the pounding headache. You wanted to yell at him for providing the darkness powder to Draco, but it did not feel like the right time. You all sat there in silence for a while, no one wanting to break the silence. Madam Pomfrey eventually releases you to go back to your flat with George, as long as he keeps you awake for a while due to your concussion. You say goodbye to Molly, Arthur and Fleur and went home before returning a few days later for Dumbledore’s funeral.

In the Middle Pt. 19
George Weasley x Reader & Cedric Diggory x Reader (Previously)
Tumblr media
~Masterlist~
A/N: I’ve decided to start using my header as my picture for this fic, I also went more of a book route with this chapter instead of the movie route (where the Burrow gets burnt down).
Summary: George, Fred and Y/N go to the Burrow for Christmas.
Word Count: 2420
Warnings: Mentions of death, slight violence
-------
Christmas at the Burrow
The next few months passed by without anything eventful occurring at the shop. You managed to study and help out at the shop. George informed you in December that the store was to be closed on Christmas eve and Christmas day so that you all could spend quality time at the Burrow with the rest of the family. The twins and yourself ensured to go shopping before heading towards the Burrow, finding a blue witches hat for Molly as well as gifts for the others.
The three of you apparate to the Burrow and you ensure to say ‘Hello’ to the gnomes in the garden, which you always did when you visited. You knew they were pests, however they were fun to observe when you got the chance. George and Fred laugh as you lean over the fencing, the tips of your toes barely reaching the dirt below. You thought for a second, wondering if Charlie would be here, remembering the few times the two of you would sit out and watch the gnomes together.
The three of you walk into the house, taking account of all the people around, at least taking over the living room. A tall red-headed boy approached you with a wide smile, “Y/N!” he exclaimed, pulling you into a hug.
“It’s great to see you too, Bill,” You laugh, “I heard something exciting happened over the summer?” You and Bill always got along, as you did with all the Weasley’s. You saw him more around the Burrow when you were younger, but soon his career path took up most of his time.
“Ah, yes!” He said, motioning for Fleur to come forward, “I believe you remember, Fleur,”
“Eez good to see you again, Y/N” Fleur says, in her thick accent. “I am sorry about ze tournament,”
You give her a small smile, “Don’t worry about it,” Bill and Fleur go back to sitting by the fire as Molly comes into the room, pulling each of you into a hug.
“I am so glad you’re all here!” Molly exclaims, as she returns to frantically walking around the house. Ginny does the same, offering you all a quick ‘Hello’ before running off with her mother. The three of you walk into the kitchen to see Harry and Ron.
“-Fred’s left buttock –“
“I beg your pardon?” Fred says, as the three of you walk into the room, “Look at this, they’re using knives and everything!”
“Just you wait, I’ll be seventeen in two months and will be able to be magic for everything!” Ron yells as George and Fred both sit at the table and put their feet up.
“So, Ronald,” George begins, “What is this we hear from Ginny about you and a young lady called Lavender Brown?”
“Mind your own business,” Ron says, cheeks turning pink.
“Is that why Hermione isn’t here?” You ask, mostly looking at Harry who gives you a look seeming like yes.
“What a snappy retort,” Fred says, “How did it happen?”
“What d’you mean?” Ron asks, looking at his brother with confusing,
“We just want to know; did she have an accident?” George asks.
“What?” Ron says, the expression only worsening.
“How did she sustain such extensive brain damage?” Fred laughs before his eyes go wide for a moment, “Careful now!”
Molly walks into the kitchen at the exact moment that Ron throws the knife he was using to cut sprouts at Fred, who flicks his wand and turns it into a paper airplane.
“Ronald Weasley!” Molly yells, “I better not see you throw a knife again!”
Ron just gave her a sour expression and mumbles something under his breath before returning to the sprouts.
“Fred, George, Remus is arriving tonight, so Bill is going to need to squeeze in with you two,” Molly then looks over at Harry and Ron, “You two boys are in the attic since Charlie isn’t coming home,” and finally at you, “Fleur will be sharing with you and Ginny,”
“That’ll make their Christmas,” Fred muttered under his breath. You shoot him a look at first and then roll your eyes.
“Ready to go George? Y/N?” Fred asks, standing up from the table.
“Where are you three going?” Ron asks, “Can’t you help us with these? You three can use your wands!”
“No, can’t do that,” Fred says, heading towards the door.
“Besides, I would recommend not throwing knifes at people who you want to help you,” George says, throwing the paper airplane at him.
After the two boys walk out of the kitchen, you flick your wand towards the sprouts, peeling them within a few seconds. “How about we surprise your brothers with a snowball fight?”
“Thanks Y/N!” Ron says, running out of the kitchen.
“Coming Harry?” You ask, looking at the boy who is still staring at the sprouts.
“I’ll be there soon,” Harry says. You give him a small nod and walk out to grabbing Ginny, Bill and Fleur on the way out. Once you step outside, you see Fred and George already teaming up to throw snowballs at Ron.
“Ron, you could’ve at least waited for us before provoking your brothers!” You laugh as Fred throws a snowball at Ron, almost hitting him.
“So, this was your idea!” George yells, throwing a snowball at you but missing and hitting Fleur.
“Ah, if a snowball fight ezz what you want, zen I must retaliate!” Fleur yells, creating a snowball and throwing it at the twins. Harry eventually comes out and hides with Ron, while you and Ginny take shelter elsewhere.
The snowballs continue to be thrown around by each of the teams. You and Ginny seem to be doing the best with the least amount of direct snowball hits on yourselves and a good amount on the others. You watch Ginny create a snowball to throw at Harry while you create one to throw at George.
“One, two, three... THROW!” You yell, each of you aiming at the boys and throwing. Yours lands directly on George’s head, snow covering his once bright red hair.
“I’ll get you for the Y/L/N!” He yells, leaving his cover and charging towards yours.
“Come and get me Weasley!” You yell, running from the cover away from George. You can feel the snowballs being thrown at the two of you by the others and you try your best to outrun him, but suddenly you feel his arms wrap around your waist as he pulls you down into the snow. The two of you land in a soft patch where the snow puffs up around you as the two of you laugh.
You can tell the others are no longer throwing snowballs at you, but now at each other as you and George lay in the snow away from them. George looks at you for a moment and takes in your appearance, with your pink nose and cheeks, snow caught in your hair, and wide smile. He kisses you then, deeply as you feel the coldness of his face melts in with yours.
You hear the crack of someone apparating nearby and the two of you look up, only to find Remus making his way towards the house. The others follow him in, chatting happily.
“Guess that’s our que to go in?” You ask, looking at George.
“Let’s just make ourselves a home out here and live out the rest of our days,” George says, slowly getting up from the snow.
“If we could do so, without freezing to death, I would take you up on that offer,” You laugh, taking George’s hand as he helps you up and the two of you walk back to the house, hand in hand.
Everyone was sitting in the living room listening to Molly’s favorite singer Celestina Warbeck, while playing Exploding Snap with Ginny, Fred and George. You kept hearing the music get louder, assuming it was an attempt to drown out Fleur’s excessively loud talking. You could see Harry talking to Arthur, while Remus was staring deeply into the fire.
Fleur looks over at you, as you sit with your back against the wall, legs thrown over George’s lap and cards in hand. You notice her looking at you and meet her eye with a small smile, only for her to blurt out a question you were not expecting, “Y/N, ‘ave you two considered getting married?”
Your eyes widen suddenly and the question gains the attention from most people in the room. You were unsure if Fleur was just curious or if it was an attempt to draw the attention away from Celestina Warbeck’s music. George also was speechless about the situation, staring at Fleur.
“I uh-“ You try to collect your words, not wanting to offend George, but also you hadn’t really thought about it.
“We haven’t had that discussion yet,” George says, looking over to you and offering your hand a squeeze. You smile at him with a thankful look. That seems to satisfy Fleur because she turns back to Bill quickly. You knew Molly was looking at you, trying to see if that was a possibility.
The music continues to play in the silence until Celestina ends on a high note and Molly sings along.
“Eez it over?” Fleur says loudly, “Thank goodness, zat was ‘orrible –“
“Nightcaps, anyone?” Arthur yells out, getting up, “Eggnog?”
Once he leaves the room, the four of you take some seats on the couch. Arthur comes by handing you and each of the twins an eggnog. You all were chatting excitedly until you suddenly heard Fleur begin singing one of Celestina’s songs, only to see the glare on Molly’s face. Everyone began to excuse themselves, leaving George, Fred, Ginny and yourself in the living room.
You yawn loudly, leaning your back against George, holding your cup in your hand. The question Fleur asked you earlier has been raddling in your head since they came out of her mouth. Mostly wondering if that was something you would consider or were even ready for.  You look over at Ginny, who you assume was still down here to wait for Fleur to go to bed so she did not have to suffer through some idle conversation with her. George wraps his arm around you while he talks to Fred about something involving the shop and you make small conversation with Ginny as your eyes slowly drift shut.
You’re woken up a little later by George, who whispers softly as he tries to wake you. “Why don’t you head upstairs, love?”
“Too tired, I’ll take the couch,” You whisper back at him, curling into a ball in the spot George was once sitting. You see him smile at you before kissing you on the forehead.
“Alright, goodnight Y/N. I’ll see you in the morning,” He kisses you softly and you hear him go up the stairs and whisper a quick, “I love you” before climbing up.
-------
You woke up early Christmas morning and check the time reading 5 AM on the clock. There was something you wanted to do this morning and Fleur’s question the day before had only fueled the need.
You put on some shoes and a warm jacket and made your way out of the Burrow and head into a direction that you have only walked once before. You trudged through the snow, making your way up a beautiful hill before reaching a headstone, sticking out of the snow. You crouch down and brush the snow off revealing the name, Cedric Diggory.
You stand up, letting the light wind play at your feet and in your hair. You consider for a moment what would have happened if Cedric was still here. Would you two still be together? What would that have meant for you and George? Or even with Fred?
You look up at the sky and notice a few snowflakes coming down. You try and shake the thoughts and let out a sigh.
“I’m sorry Ced, I wish you were still here. But, I also need to move on and accept life for what it has given me,” You blink away the burning feeling that is occurring in your eyes. “Thank you for everything,”
You turn around and make your way back towards the Burrow, slowly stepping through the front door. You don’t see anyone right away, but you can hear voices coming from the living area.
“What do you mean she’s not in your room?” You can hear George’s voice, echoing through the wall. Slowly, you peak around the corner and notice him talking to Ginny, who’s standing there arms crossed.
“She never came in last night and all the bathrooms are occupied by other guests,” Ginny says rolling her eyes, probably meaning Fleur. “I’m sure Y/N is fine, George” Molly says, patting him on the shoulder, “Why don’t you help me with breakfast, so you’re closer to the front door?”
You smile for a moment, knowing George must be wondering where you were, especially since you never told anyone where you were going. Plus, Molly’s attempts to get George to help always makes you laugh. You take the final step around the corner and cross your own arms.
“I leave the house for a few hours and you’re already interrogating all of your family members?” You laugh, gaining their attention.
“Y/N!” George yells out, quickly closing the distance and wrapping you in a warm hug. You quickly bury your head in his chest, taking in his warmth. He takes a step back and holds your face in his hands, “You’re freezing, love,”
“It started snowing again,” You say with a small laugh, “It was beginning to get pretty cold.”
George opens his mouth, about to ask you a question, possibly about where you’ve been this whole time when Harry, Ron, Fred and Remus come down the stairs.
“Y/N, could you help with breakfast?” Molly asks, walking past the two of you and into the kitchen.
“Of course, Molly,” You look to George and give him a quick kiss, “I’ll talk to you later?”
He smiles at you softly, the worry seeming to leave his face a bit and nods his head, letting you follow Molly into the kitchen. You begin helping her with breakfast for a while and enjoy the rest of Christmas with the family. George doesn’t pry about where you went again as the two of you enjoy Christmas together and the three of you head back to the shop the next day.

In the Middle Pt. 18
George Weasley x Reader & Cedric Diggory x Reader (Previously)
Tumblr media
~Masterlist~
A/N: We reached 200 followers!!! I honestly never expected this fic to get so much attention and I am so thankful. So, thank you for reading and appreciating my series! Tumblr recently has not been adding my posts to #’s which has become quite a struggle for me to expand my followers, so I am reposting this to test something.
Summary: The attack on Diagon Alley and the trios visit to the shop
Word Count: 1853
Warnings: None, mostly a filler chapter, but I am about to hit the good parts!
-------
The Attack on Diagon Alley
You heard the explosion come from down the street of Diagon Alley. The sound of glass breaking echoed through your ears. You quickly ran towards the window with George and Fred right behind you. You could see Death Eaters walking out of Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour with a man who you can barely see but assume is Florean Flortescue himself.
A few more Death Eaters walk out of Ollivanders with another man with a bag over his head, who you also assume is Ollivander. A few of them were holding boxes of wands, which are obviously being stolen for their growing numbers. You could hear screams from people who were walking in the area and can see as they run away from the Death Eaters. Almost all the Death Eaters are wearing masks, except for one who you were unable to see clearly, however his face did not look human.
You quickly grab your wand and head towards the door, only to feel a hand wrap around your wrist, holding you back. You look back, only to see George with wide pleading eyes, asking you not to go out there. “We cannot take them ourselves, Y/N.”
“We cannot let them take Florean and Ollivander either!” You yell, but as you look back the Death Eaters have already disapparated from Diagon Alley. You walk outside cautiously, checking to see if there were any injuries among the crowd, however most people have dispersed completely. As you walk down the road, the glass crunches beneath your feet.
You stand there, in the middle of the walkway, taking in the scene of the broken windows and the missing occupants. You heard crunching behind you and a warm hand intertwine with yours as you and George stand there, observing the scene together.
“I’m so scared, George.” You whisper, so quietly you’re not even sure if he can hear you. The scene in front of you could have easily been the shop and the people taken, Fred and George.
“Me too, but you didn’t seem so scared a moment ago,” He says, offering you a weary smile.
“Being scared won’t stop me from protecting others,” You look up at the boy, who you were easily falling in love with, even though the words had never been spoken. You were so worried for him, for Fred, for their entire family and everyone in the Order.
George kisses your forehead before pulling you back towards the shop, “I know.”
The two of you walk back into the shop, where all the customers have vanished completely. The three of you dismiss the employees for the day and close up. The three of you make your way up to the apartment and sit on the couch, considering the events.
You make tea for everyone, listening to Fred and George’s conversation as you do and place the cups on the table. You could see the concern on their faces, wondering if this could damage the shops revenue.
“No matter what situation people are in, they could always use more laughs,” You say, looking at the two of them.
“You know what, you’re right Y/N,” Fred nods his head, seemingly lost in thought suddenly, his face forming a wide grin, “I think we just need a little light on the situation,”
Suddenly, he got up and ran down into the room that was converted into a study. You and George look at each other and follow Fred, peeking into the room as he works to put things together. You could see him working on a sign that seemed to go with a product.
“Do you want to help him?” You ask George.
“Freddie, what’re you doing?” George asks, walking up to his twin.
“George, I’ve done it!” Fred exclaims, continuing the sign, “The perfect slogan for these times!”
You see George lean over the table to read the words and immediately bursts into laughter. Fred waves his wand over the paper to add some finishing touches and holds up the sign to show you and written is bold letters is:
“WHY ARE YOU WORRYING ABOUT YOU-KNOW-WHO? YOU SHOULD BE WORRYING ABOUT U-NO-POO – THE CONSTIPATION SENSATION THAT’S GRIPPING THE NATION!”
“Your mum is going to end you both,” You say, laughing at the sign, “But, it’s perfect,”
Fred runs out of the flat with a wide smile on his face to create a display for his new sign. George walks over and wraps his arms around you, pulling you in close. The two of you stand there for a moment, the faint sound of things being move below, when George breaks the silence.
“I love you, Y/N” He whispers quietly, so that you can barely hear him.
A smile creeps onto your face, but you don’t pull away, “I love you too, Georgie.”
He cups your face in his hands and kisses you deeply, smiling at you as he pulls away before kissing you once more, “Thank you for everything you do for us and the shop,
“I wouldn’t have it any other way,” You say with a wide smile.
-------
The next two months went by quickly with over half of Diagon Alley closing down. The dreary alley makes Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes stand out completely. The bright colors cause people to constantly be in an out of the shop as things flashes, popped, bounced, and spun in the wide windows.
You heard the door open and when you look up you see a few familiar red heads walk into the store and two others. You watch as Ron, Hermione, Harry, Ginny and Molly walk around the store taking everything in. You make eye-contact with George who is standing on their stand near the stairs giving their speech. You point at Hermione and Harry who are standing by the daydream charms.
“You know, that really is extraordinary magic!” Hermione exclaims.
“For that, you can have that one for free,” Fred says, leaning over the two. “How’re you both?”
They both turn around to face the three of you, when you notice that Hermione has a black eye. “Blimey Hermione, what happened to your eye?” George asks.
“Your punching telescope,” She says, looking down.
“Oh! Here,” You say pulling out and handing her a tub filled with yellow paste. “Put it on the bruise and give it an hour, should clear right up!”
“It is safe, isn’t it?” Hermione asks, looking at the paste unconvincingly.
“I made it myself because Fred and George have been testing out the products on themselves,” Hermione looks as if she feels better about the product knowing it came from you.
“Mind if we give Harry a tour, Y/N?” George asks, putting his arm around your shoulders.
“After all, he is our biggest financier!” Fred exclaims, pulling Harry with him.
“Have fun,” You laugh at the boys and go with Hermione to find Ginny and Molly. Immediately, Molly pulls you into a tight hug. Once she lets go, you give Ginny and quick hug before leading them all over to the WonderWitch products. They’re looking at the love potions, when you hear foot steps behind you.
“From what we’re hearing sis, you’re doing just fine on your own,” Fred says, raising his eyebrows at Ginny.
“Meaning?” Ginny asks, putting the potion back.
“Are you not currently dating Dean Thomas?” George questions.
“Yes I am,” She says before moving onto the next item.
“Wait, what happened to Michael Corner?” You look at Ginny, unaware she had a new boyfriend, also aware of Harry’s crush on her.
“I dumped him, he was a bad loser,” She begins before pointing at the small fluffy creatures in the cage, “What are those?”
“Pygmy Puffs,” George says, looking over at you, not seeing the Pygmy Puff on your shoulder. “We gave on to Y/N the other day, where is he?”
“Sleeping soundly upstairs, didn’t want to wake him,” You smile at the thought of Simon sleeping upstairs in his little cage. Ginny is still occupied with the creatures when Ron runs up with a product.
“How much for this?” He asks.
“Five galleons,” Fred and George say in unison.
“How much for me?”
“Five galleons,” They respond in unison again.
“But, I’m your brother?”
“Ten galleons,” They say before turning around to help customers. You could see the irritation on Ron’s face.
“Take it, Ron.” You say waving your wand over the product to remove the ward.
“Take it?” He asks, looking at the product.
“It’s yours, just don’t tell Fred and George. I’ll pay the galleons for it later,” You wink at him before turning to Ginny and Molly who are looking at the Pygmy Puffs.
“Do you want one Ginny?” You ask, opening up the cage to let her hold one.
“I was just asking mum!” Ginny said, petting the creature as it let out little squeaks.
“It seems as if he likes you,” You say with a smile, you reach into your pocket before pulling out a few galleons and handing them to Ginny. “I can’t let you take one for free due to short supply, but I can at least pay for half of it, just don’t tell your brothers,”
“Are you sure, Y/N?” Ginny asks, looking shocked.
“Completely, just promise to bring him around to play with my own,” You smile at her and Molly, to which Molly gives you a grateful smile. “What are you going to name him?”
“Arnold,” Ginny says with a smile while you put him into a cage for her to take. You hand it to Ginny and follow them to the till, where you ring up their products as well as Ron’s to which you add a few galleons to pay for.
“He’s all yours,” You say, handing her the cage with Arnold inside. You chat with Ginny and Molly a bit more, mostly about how things have been going with Fleur who has been staying at the Burrow with Billy this summer. You remember running into them one of the times the three of you visited the Burrow and noticed Molly and Ginny’s looks towards her. It was rough at first for you, seeing one of the remaining contestants from the tournament, but you did your best to overcome it.
“Still not going so well with Fleur?” You ask them.
“I just feel as if she’s not the right one for Bill,” Molly says, waving her hand.
“She is just so snobbish!” Ginny exclaims, “She came into the Burrow and immediately criticized it,”
“But the Burrow feels so homey,” You say, looking at the two.
“Thank you, dear,” Molly smiles and puts a hand on your arm, “Well, we really should get going, have a few more stops to make!”
You suddenly feel a hand wrap around your waist and startling you. You look over to see George with a wide grin on his face.
“Thank you for coming!” He says, hugging both his mum and sister. Fred also makes his way over and does the same. Finally, it’s your turn and you walk them both to the door and wave goodbye as they leave.

-------
The Bad Days and the Good Ones
The day after moving into the flat above the joke shop, the three of you visited the burrow to collect Fred and George’s things. Molly was worried to say the least, however she warmed up to the idea the more the three of you discussed the plan. Ron apparently had informed her of Harry’s involvement in the process, which she continued to ensure that the twins understood what Harry has done for them. Arthur did the same, giving them a serious talk about paying Harry back. As you were leaving, Molly made sure you were okay with the arrangement and said they would come to visit the shop soon.
The next few days were focused on working on the shop to ensure that they were going to have product for when the store opened sometime in June. They hired a few employees to help with packaging and production. The most notable being a woman named Verity, who was going to work the till, but was currently helping you stock the products.
It was later in the evening, and you and Verity were putting more products out. George or Fred would occasionally peak their heads out to see what more was needed or if they wanted to change where something goes. You were standing on one of the sliding ladders, sliding it across the shelves, when it suddenly stopped mid-roll. You look down and see George with a wide grin spread across his face, holding the ladder in place.
“Alright, Georgie?” You ask, looking at the boy with a puzzled expression. Suddenly, he grabs your waist, pulling you off the ladder and spinning you around. Your eyes go wide as he kisses you suddenly, his smile not wavering.
“Better than alright,” He motions to the shop which is now almost completely stocked with colorful products. “Just look at this place!”
You laugh as Fred walks out of the back, “Our dream is finally coming true, George!”
“Just imagine it when its filled with customers,” George says, one arm still firm around your waist.
“It’ll be perfect,” You say, smiling at the two boys. You look out one of the windows at the front and see two men walking towards the front door. You look squint, trying to look closer before realizing it was Kingsley and Remus. You move out of George’s grasp and head towards the door to let them in.
“Verity, why don’t you head home?” You say with a smile. The blonde girl smiles and nods her head before grabbing her stuff out of the back. George and Fred both look at you, before seeing what you see, eyes widening. You let the two men in and wave to Verity as she walks out the door.
“So, what do we owe the pleasure?” You say, turning around before noticing their solemn expressions. “Did something happen?”
“Why don’t you three close everything up and we’ll discuss in the flat?” Remus’s eyes were red and he looked so tired.
“I’ll show you two up,” You walk towards the stairs, showing them the way before opening the door. “Would you like tea or anything?”
Both men shake their heads no, before Fred and George make their way back into the room. The three of you sit across from them as Remus runs his hands over his face.
“Earlier today, there was a battle at the Department of Ministries, there was some injuries,” Remus pauses for a moment, attempting to collect himself, before Kingsley finishes.
“However, Sirius Black and your mother, Elenora Y/L/N were among the casualties,” Kingsley looks over at the twins. “Your brother, Ron, was among those injured,”
At first, the words don’t quite reach you, but it dawns on you that if your mother was going to die doing anything, it would be fighting with the Order. The tears begin welling up in your eyes, blurring your vision. You can hear Fred and George’s muffled voices asking questions and George puts his arm around you, pulling you closer to him.
“We’re all very sorry, Y/N.” You hear Remus say.
You nod and choke out a response, “How?”
They both share a look with one another, “Sirius was hit with the killing curse by Bellatrix Lestrange which momentarily distracted Elenora, which was enough time for her to get hit with the same curse by one of the other Death Eaters,”
You look down at your hands, which are put into fists in your lap, “Thank you for coming and telling me in person.” You sigh, looking up at the two men, “My mother always regretted the way my father died, believing she should’ve been in his place. She always put her dreams first and I hope this gave her some sort of peace,”
You slowly get up from the couch, wiping the tears from your eyes. “I believe I need some time to myself. Thank you both again for coming,” and with that you went into your room.
You could hear George and Fred talking with Remus and Kingsley about the Order and their willingness to join if they ever needed extra hands. Your name was mentioned a few times, but you could not make out all the words. You buried your face into your pillow, trying to contain your sobs as much as possible. Eventually, allowing yourself to fall asleep.
You were woken up at the sound of the door opening and assume it is George coming to bed. “Are you awake, love?” You heard him whisper nearby. You were unsure if you wanted to respond, the fear of having a discussion about today’s events sitting in the back of your head. You felt him softly brush your hair out of your face and plant a kiss on the top of your head, before laying on his side of the bed.
“I’m awake, Georgie,” You whisper, looking over at the boy. You saw him give you a faint smile through the darkness and holds out his arms towards you. You move closer to him, allowing his arms to wrap around you as he gently runs his fingers through your hair. You could feel your eyes becoming heavy, but the fear of bringing on another nightmare lingered nearby.
How much more was this war going to take away from you? How many more people was he who-should-not-be-named going to rip away from you? You shut your eyes tightly, trying to ignore the thoughts that were filling your head. You felt George’s arms wrap tighter around you and the two of you just lay there, unsure of what’s to come next.
------
A few more weeks passed by after the initial visit from the Order and even though all you wanted to do was lay in bed and cry, you knew you had to keep pushing through. You continued helping the twins set up the shop for the grand opening of Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes. George was constantly making sure you were okay, which you always responded with a “I’m fine, Georgie”, before continuing with your task.
You were never particularly close with your mother, which perhaps made the situation a little easier. But the lingering idea of maybe one day becoming closer being pulled from your grasp, continued to haunt your thoughts. The idea that your two parents suffered similar fates made you feel you were destined for the same.
You are in the room that George and you share, getting ready for the grand opening of the shop, wearing the magenta robes that they gave you so you could match them and the other employees. You’re looking in the mirror when you see George come in holding something behind his back.
“What are you up to, Georgie?” You say, turning to him, eye brow raised.
“Did you ever notice that small caged area of the shop with nothing in it?” He asks taking a step closer.
“Yes, and you gave me the ‘ask no questions and you’ll receive no lies’, phrase,” You stand up now, facing the boy.
“Well, I know you’ve been a little down lately, and one of our best inventions is finally done. So, Fred and I want you to have the first one,” He suddenly bring around a small purple creature with fluffy hair covering its entire body except for its face and feet. The small creature lets out a small squeak.
“What is that?” You ask, closing the distance between the two of you and holding out your hands for the creature. George carefully places it into your hands and it lets out another squeak.
“A pygmy puff,” George has a wide smile on his face as he does so. “We’ve been breeding them from puffskeins.”
You run your finger over its fur, where another squeak comes out. You break into a wide smile, “It’s perfect, Georgie!”
“He needs a name,” George grabs the pygmy puff, lightly brushing your hair off your shoulder, before placing the pygmy puff there.
You look back in the mirror, staring at the pygmy puff before choosing a name, “Simon.”
When you look back at the door, Fred is standing in the doorway. “Ready to open this shop up, George?”
“I’ve never been more ready, Fred.” George says, heading out of the room. You follow them down the stairs where a few employees are already ready and a line has formed outside. George and Fred both have wide smiles on their faces as they stand on the stair case leading to the lowest floor. You head down, waiting by the door for them to let you know when to open it. They both smile at you and nod and greet the crowd as they come in.
You help customers as they have questions, directing them as needed or showing them how specific products work. You notice George and Fred doing the same, occasionally passing by one another as you continue to help customers. The day continued to fly by with a steady stream of customers. Many of them would come by and ask you about Simon so you would show them the others in the cage.
There were a few familiar faces throughout the store, greeting them as you passed by. The opening of the store was planned around when Hogwarts students would be returning home to allow more customers to come into the store. Eventually, all the customers have left the store and the only people left were the twins, Verity and yourself.
You pull out your wand, waving it to allow all the misplaced products to find their correct shelf. Verity began to clean while the twins count the till.  You can hear them chatting excitedly as they finish counting. You sit on the stairs, when an envelope flutters in and lands at your feet. You look at it, head tilted and pick it up, written across the front reads Y/N Y/L/N, in nice handwriting. On the back also includes the Hogwarts letter seal. Slowly, you open the letter and read:
Dear Y/N Y/L/N,
I want to begin by offering my sincerest apologies for the loss of your mother. She fought valiantly in the eyes of Death Eaters and her sacrifice does not go unnoticed.
I was informed that in my absence, yourself, George Weasley and Fred Weasley had left Hogwarts in an attempt to remove themselves from the tyranny of Dolores Umbridge. I understand the Weasley boys always had very specific ambitions when it came to what they wanted to do in their lives. However, from my knowledge you did not share those specific ambitions.
Professor McGonagall and I discussed your conversation from your fifth year regarding your career choices as well as your academic level while attending Hogwarts. Since you were receiving remarkably high marks in all your N.E.W.T. level classes and given the current circumstances, we decided to allow you to receive E’s in all of the N.E.W.T. class exams that you were taking.
We also understand you had career hopes of becoming a professor or healer at Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. Unfortunately, we currently do not have any opening for employment in these fields, but I will ensure that I and any other headmaster after me, will keep you in consideration for any jobs that may come.
If your true hope is to become a healer, please continue with your studies. Madam Pomfrey can recommend some anatomy and healing magic resources to aid you.
Sincerely yours,
Albus Dumbledore
You stare, eyes wide at the letter that Dumbledore had sent you. You knew you weren’t going to work at the shop forever, but you never expected that you were still going to be able to work at Hogwarts. You notice that Verity had already left the shop and Fred and George were heading towards you on the stairs.
“What’s that, love?” George asks, pointing at the paper you’re holding.
“A letter from Dumbledore,” You say, standing up and handing him the paper and waiting as him and Fred read it over.
“Y/N, this is amazing!” Fred shouts, wrapping you in a hug. George seems a little shocked at first, but it quickly turns into a wide smile.
“I’m so proud of you, love,” Once Fred pulls away, George quickly kisses you. “I was worried that you were throwing away your dreams for our shop.”
You stare at the letter, the excitement filling you as you finally felt you could look towards the future and follow your own dreams.

George x Reader & Cedric x Reader (Previously)
Tumblr media
~Masterlist~
A/N: I was up late helping my friends with D&D characters and managed to finish up this chapter. I’ve been feeling really inspired lately and look forward to what is coming.
Summary: The twins and yourself are finally fed up with Umbridge’s terror on Hogwarts.
Pairing(s): Cedric x Reader (through Goblet of Fire) & George x Reader
Word Count: 2465
Warnings: Bold and Italics = Dream or Flashback, mentions of death and injury
-------
Goodbye Hogwarts
The weeks leading up to the fifth years O.W.L. exams were filled with planning and pranks. Including, setting off wiz-bangs in the hallway, students willing to help eating candies from the skiving snack box, and any other of a numerous pranks you three managed to conduct around Hogwarts. George and Fred knew exactly what location they were going to buy to become Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes, which would be at Number 93 Diagon Alley.
The three of you stood outside of Umbridge’s office, ready for what was going to come next. George looked at you for a moment, “Are you sure you want to do this, Y/N?”
“What do you mean?” You ask, looking at him with a puzzled expression.
“Are you really ready to leave Hogwarts before officially finishing?” He steps in front of you and grabs your hand, “I don’t want you to give up on your dream of becoming a healer or even a professor.”
You think for a moment, before smiling. “Georgie, let’s not worry about that now. I’ve learned more than I had ever hoped these past few years,”
He nods before standing in between you and Fred again. You all wave your wands at the door and yell “Accio Brooms!” causing three brooms to fly through her office door and into each of your hands. Fred’s broom still contains a locked chain dangling from the handle. You giggle slightly before pointing your wand and say “Alohomora”, which causes the chain to fall with a loud thud.
George walks over to you and hands you a bag, “Portable swamp for the hallway leading here, we’ll start the fireworks to distract them and then head to the Great Hall, meet you there?”
“Just don’t get caught,” Fred smirks before hopping onto his broom, messenger bag filled with fireworks around his shoulder.
“Wouldn’t dream of it,” You say before wrapping your arms around George’s neck and kissing him deeply. You quickly running down the hall, “See you at the Great Hall!”
You turn back for a second and see a wide grin on George’s face before they both hop on their brooms and fly over your head. You quickly put the bag down, watching as a swamp pulled, taking up the corridor to Umbridge’s office. You could hear the sound of fireworks going off and Finch yelling at the boys, threatening that he received the approval for whipping.
You roll your eyes before hopping onto your broom and head to the Great Hall, where Fred and George have already distracted Filch before Umbridge made her way out. A small firework buzzed in front of her face before going off in the Great Hall. The three of you quickly zoom by over her head, setting papers flying and fireworks above the heads of students.
You made eye contact with the trio and offered them a wink, before allowing small fireworks to go off above their heads. Fred and George high five each other as they fly by and Filch eventually makes his way into the room.
“Ready when you are!” One of them yells to the other two of you. You all smile before throwing three fireworks into the air, creating a large dragon that caused smaller fireworks to break all her educational decrees off the wall. The three of you flew past her and out the large doors.
“STOP THEM!” Umbridge yells as the Inquisitorial squad attempted to follow. However, it was too late as the rest of the students followed you all outside. You all threw more fireworks, creating a giant “W” in the sky as the three of you flew away towards Hogsmeade where you then apparate to Diagon Alley.
-------
You appear at 93 Diagon Alley, in front of a brick building that is currently under a very colorful renovation. The all the windows were bright orange and the bricks were a purple color. A large animatronic looking similar to the twins peaked out over the top of the large circular windows at the front. You stood there in awe, before hearing the twins cheer and high five each other. You turn to them and ask in amazement, “Is this the shop?”
“Y/N L/N, welcome to Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes!” Fred announces, wrapping his arms around yours and George’s shoulders, “Our new home!”
“It should be finished by the end of today,” George adds in, smiling at the sight. “We just have to stock it with product,”
“How did you two even have time for all this?” You ask, taking in the shop fully.
“We had to do a lot using owls,” Fred says, heading towards the building.
“We wanted it to be ready for when we finally left,” George continues.
You all three walk into the building, displaying an even more magical sight. There were brightly colored empty shelves. The stair bannister were each colored differently with blue, green, red and orange colors. The stairs themselves were a maroon color. There were a few wizards in the shop, putting it all together. As you walked up the steps you ran your hand over the railing, taking it all in.
“This is absolutely amazing!” You shouted from the second floor, looking down at the twins who were equally as impressed. You notice a door off to the side and peak your head in, finding an office room.
“Let’s head up to the flat, aye?” Fred says sprinting up the stairs and begins going up the next set, leading to a small hallway and a door. You follow behind him and notice George has come up behind you. You look back and smile at him, noticing the excitement on his face.
Fred opens the door, leading to a small flat. As you walk in, you notice a living area off to the right that led to a kitchen, down the hall way was three doors on the left and a few on the right. Everything was just as bright here as it was in the shop.
Fred pointed towards the first of the three doors, then to the middle and then last, “My room, Y/N’s room, George’s room,”
You walk to the door sitting in the middle, opening it slowly, revealing a room painted in Y/F/C. Your trunk was sitting at the end of a bed. You knew the room wasn’t much, however, it felt exactly like home. You look out the small window at the end and see the streets of Diagon Alley, buzzing with wizards, walking in and out of shops. You hear footsteps approaching and you turn to find George leaning on the door frame.
“Is this okay?” George asks, looking around your room.
You run over to him, wrapping your arms around his neck, “Oh Georgie, it’s lovely!”
He grabs his arms tightly around your waist, kissing you deeply. The kissing continues until you hear Fred coming down the hall, “Oi, at least go into the room!”
You two pull apart and laugh, before walking towards Fred in the living room. “So, what’s your plan until the shop is open?” You ask, taking a seat on the couch.
“We’ll continue to ship out and make products until the opening,” Fred says, spreading some papers out across the table.
“If you want to create any products of your own, you’re more than welcome,” George says, looking over the papers.
“My own products?” You ask.
“Well, we could use a feminine input on some of our WonderWitch products,” Fred offers, writing something down.
“You also always talked about creating something to help with blemishes or bruises,” George says, pointing out something to Fred. “Let’s head back down to the shop,”
You follow the twins down stairs where they immediately head to the bottom floor and into the backroom, where they already have some product and a few work stations. As you’re walking by the front door, you notice a bright red card sitting near the door. You walk over and pick it up before following the boys to the back. Suddenly, you realize what it is and your eyes go wide.
“Uh, George? Fred?” You say, looking at the boys, eyes wide.
“Is that a howler?” They say in unison, eyes also widening. Fred takes a deep breath, grabbing it from your hand. He opens is slowly, causing the yelling to begin.
“FRED AND GEORGE WEASLEY! HOW DARE YOU TWO GIVE UP YOUR EDUCATION AT HOGWARTS AND DRAG Y/N ALONG WITH YOU! YOUR FATHER AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO FURIOUS AT YOU-,“ You quickly cover your ears at the loudness, waiting for it to stop. “JUST WAIT UNTIL I SEE YOU NEXT! YOU BETTER HAVE A GOOD EXPLINATION FOR THIS!” and then it ripped itself into pieces.
“I knew she was going to be upset,” You say, sweeping up the leftover pieces.
“We should grab our things tomorrow,” George says, returning back to his project.
“We may as well get it over with,” Fred groans. “Think she’ll blame Ronald?”
“She’ll wonder why he didn’t stop us,” George laughs.
“We will not let your brother take the fall!” You yell at the boys, “I’ll also confess my part in it as well. We can’t let you get all the credit, now can we?”
Both boys laugh before working together to create some of their most famous products. Meanwhile, you helped by putting their products on the shelves throughout the store and working on some of the displays. You continued to do this until it was dark outside, then you all headed upstairs where you made dinner. You all went to bed a few hours after dinner, part of you almost went to bed with George, but you knew they put work into including your room.
Once you were in bed, the creaking of the flat kept you awake. There were new noises you were not used to and for the first time in a long time, you had a room entirely to yourself, no Hogwarts roommates, no Ginny and no Hermione taking up another bed in the room. You let out a sigh, making a mental note to buy some curtains to block out some lights from the street. Despite the constant annoyances, you somehow managed to fall asleep.
 -------
You stand in a forest filled with trees and other foliage, screams fill the air around you. Throughout the forest, orange and yellow flames begin to remove the trees. There’s smoke surrounding you, making it even more difficult to see. You notice a group of hooded figures standing in an open area where a number of bodies are.
You hide behind a tree and attempt to get a better look at the damage, but the smoke continues to obstruct your view and fill your lungs. You let out a cough, only for the one of the hooded figures to hear you. “Find the intruder,” They say, pointing in your direction. You immediately turn and start running through the forest. The hooded figures quickly running behind you.
The more you try to run into the forest, the more the fires seem to surround you. You keep coughing as the smoke continues to fill your lungs, making it harder and harder to run. You hear a snap above you as a branch begins to fall down, but someone knocks you out of the way. “Come on, you have to keep going!” They’ve grabbed your arm now and are pulling you with them. Suddenly, you’re able to breath and when you reach up you notice that the Bubble-head charm is now on your face.
You finally are able to see who they are, “Cedric? But your –,” A green flash goes passed your face, giving it a green tint as your eyes widen. The curse hits Cedric sending him onto the ground, “Ced-!”
You don’t have time to stop, you can hear the cloaked figures running behind you. As you keep running, a curse hits the ground next to you, causing you to fall, cutting your leg on a branch. You try to get up, but every few steps you fall again. One of the falls cause the Bubble-head charm to break, causing the smoke to seep back in. You do your best to hide, but you feel yourself getting weaker, your vision blurring as the footsteps approach.
“Y/N!” The footsteps grew closer as the voices registered in your mind, George and Fred. George appears next to you, both him and Fred using the Bubble-head charm and reapplies one to you.
You take in a deep breath and whisper, “George?”
“I got you,” He says, picking you up and carrying you with them. You can barely hear footsteps over the crackling off the fire on the woods, another spell hits nearby, causing all three of you to fall. The hooded figures have reached you now, as five of them surround the three of you, wands pointed in your direction and then everything goes black.
You wake up suddenly, in a cold sweat. You look around, realizing you’re back in your room, the only light coming in from the window. You rub your hands over your face, before sliding off your bed. You open your door quietly, checking to see if anyone else is awake in the flat. The hallway is completely dark, except for another widow at the end. You walk slowly, trying to prevent any of the steps from creaking too loudly before opening the door into George’s room.
The door creaks loudly, causing George to sit up quickly, rubbing his eyes to adjust to the darkness of the room. “Y/N?” He asks, stepping out of bed to meet you at the door.
“I’m sorry Georgie, I didn’t mean to wake you,” You say, wiping a small tear that escaped from your eye.
“Did you mean to just come in and stare at me then?” He jokes, wrapping his arms around you. “What’s wrong, love?”
You let out a small laugh, “No, just had another nightmare,” You nuzzle your head closely into his chest and let him bring you closer to him.
“Come on then,” He says, pulling you towards his bed. He lifts up the covers, allowing you to crawl in, following in behind you. You study his features noticing how tired he looks as he lets out a yawn, but smiles at you. You realize how much George truly means to you and realize how idiotic it would be if anything ever separated the two of you.
“Let’s turn my room into an office tomorrow,” You say, staring at the boy.
“Decided to move out already?” George whispers, voice sounding sleepy.
“Only to move into your room,” Your eyes were feeling more tired now.
George cups his hands over your cheeks and kisses you softly, “I can work with that,”

Chapter Summary: You learn the Patronus charm with a few run ins from Umbridge.
Pairing(s): Cedric x Reader (through Goblet of Fire) & George x Reader
Word Count: 1916
Warnings: Italics and Bold= Flashback; mentions of injury
-------
The Final Days of Dumbledore’s Army
You stand alone in the Room of Requirement, staring at the mirror taking in the features of your face. You were more tired nowadays and it showed. It felt like you were unable to catch a break. While your nightmares had slowed, they still lingered around some nights, plus you were constantly on edge due to Umbridge. Your eyes drifted to the left, where a picture of Cedric was taped to the glass.  He had that smile on his face that drew you in the first moment you met him. On the right side was the pictures of the first Order and standing in the background was your father.
You let out a small sigh and rubbed your hands across your face attempting to hold in your emotions. “You alright, Y/N?”
You turn suddenly, only to notice Harry walking into the room. “Yeah, sorry,” You say sneaking one last look at the mirror before giving him your full attention. “Is the meeting about to start?”
“You have some time. I just came in to prepare,” He took more steps into the room before standing next to you, in front of the mirror. “No Fred or George?”
“They were planning something, so I decided to come early.” You look over at him. “What are we learning today?”
“The Patronus charm,” He meets your eyes, knowing all too well what you’re going to say next.
“I don’t know if I can do that one.” You try quickly to imagine the moments when you were your happiest, but they are slowly overwhelmed by the negative ones. You close your eyes and shake your head slowly. Harry’s gaze drifts to the mirror, eyeing the pictures and news clippings before landing on Cedric’s photo.
“Is it because of Cedric?” He asks, staring at the photo.
“Even when I think of the happiest memories, the bad ones always seem to find their way back up,” You let out a sigh. “Maybe I should sit today’s lesson out.”
“Y/N, find the happiest memory, then say Expecto Patronum and move your wand like this,” He demonstrates slowly.
You close your eyes and try to find the memory, the happiest you’ve ever been and attempt to do the spell. A small stream manages to escape your wand, before the memories change causing the stream to end.
“Concentrate on that happy memory,” He says, before you close your eyes and really attempt to concentrate. You could hear the door to the room opening and closing as more people filed in and Harry began to instruct those who came in.
You were brought off the Hogwarts Express and brought to the boats with the other first year students, including George and Fred. You followed the Professor leading the students to the stairs leading up to the Great Hall as the doors opened you were completely in awe at the decorations, rows of students, and large amounts of food that were across the tables. They led the group up to the front and Professor McGonagall introduced herself and began calling students one by one to sit on the chair and receive their house.
“Diggory, Cedric,” She said, motioning for the boy to sit. He had brown hair, grey eyes and the widest grin spread across his face. His eyes met yours and his smile only seemed to widen. As soon as the hat was put on top of his head, the hat yelled “Hufflepuff!” as the boy went to his table, he offered you a small wave, to which you returned.
“Weasley, George,” George took his seat at the front and was quickly sorted into Gryffindor along with Fred. The hat had let out an “Even more Weasley’s?” before sorting the boys. Suddenly, your name was called and you made your way up to the chair and sat down. The sorting hat was placed onto your head and unlike many of the students before you, it considered all the options.
“Ah, most difficult indeed. A child who is kind, yet smart however determined and brave,” The hat sat, silent taking in all the possibilities. You began to grow concerned that you weren’t going to be placed into any house. Your parents had been Gryffindor’s and the only two friends you have managed to make thus far. You knew which house made the most sense to you, but was it really the correct one?
“Gryffindor!” The hat yelled out, pulling you away from your thoughts. A wide smile spread across your face as the hat was removed and you made your way to sit next to the twins.
“See, we told you, Wesley’s are always Gryffindor’s!” Fred said as everyone welcomed you to the table. He pointed to two boys who were nearby, “You remember Charlie and Percy?”
The two boys waved at you before continuing to watch the final students go through the ceremony. You looked across the way, meeting eyes with that young boy in Hufflepuff again before returning your attention to everyone else at the table.
You’re brought back to reality where Harry has been walking around encouraging students as he goes. “-Make it a powerful memory, the happiest you can remember. Allow it to fill you up.” Some students have already succeeded, letting their Patronuses fill the room with blue light.
You let the memory fill you up, adding in bits and pieces of your time spent with the twins since that first day at Hogwarts and with your steadiest voice say, “Expecto Patronum!”, a small stream comes out, seeming as if it’ll create something before fizzling out at the end. You shake your head, before making eye contact with George, who along with everyone else in Dumbledore’s Army had made his way into the room. He gives you an encouraging smile before giving it a shot himself, whose wand produces the same blue stream that doesn’t quite make it.
You walk over to the twins, offering George’s hand a squeeze, to which he returns. You attempt the spell again, using the happiest memories to fill you up. As you say the words, the blue stream continues, revealing a badger at the end. It runs around, darting in between your legs. Your eyes widen at the realization of your Patronus, correlating it to Cedric’s house mascot.
George and Fred have both managed to produce their own Patronuses as well, revealing a coyote for George and a hyena for Fred. Your badger quickly runs towards George’s coyote, to which they dance around each other. You recall that badgers and coyotes often hunt together and make eye contact with George before a loud bang sounds at the wall where the door appears.
Everyone gathers around as another blast hits the wall, forming a hole in the wall. You can barely make out the woman wearing pink on the other side, but you instantly know who it is and then she says, “I’ll make short work of this. Bombarda Maxima,” causing the wall to completely collapse. There on the other side stood Umbridge and her Inquisitorial squad. In that instance, you knew that Dumbledore’s Army had reached its end.
“Detention tomorrow, all of you.” She said with a grin. “and you, Mr. Potter, will be coming with me.”
Students seemed like they were going to protest, but he just gave them all a look before leaving with her. Her Inquisitorial squad took note of everyone in attendance before allowing everyone to return to their common rooms.
-------
You all made your way to the classroom where detention was held. Everyone took their seat in the dimly lit room as Umbridge sat in a large chair making herself a cup of tea. You sat in the desk behind Fred and George. As Umbridge sipped her tea in the front, you could see their glares at her, as they wrote using the black quill.
The pain you remembered feeling from your detention as the words dug into your hand with the same searing pain that you felt previously. You knew Fred and George weren’t going to let this go. After all, they had already lost Quidditch and now were losing Dumbledore’s Army along with the punishment from Umbridge. You tried your best to hold in your tears as the words “I will not break the rules” continued to dig themselves into your hand.
After being dismissed, you could see the anger on the twins faces, along with the rest of the students in Dumbledore’s army, but it felt as though theirs ran deeper. You three walked back towards the common room, not saying a word to each other. The tension seemed to be at a high.
However, the moment you step back into the common room, George quickly pulls you into his arms, holding you close to him. A few tears escape as he kisses you on the top of the head. “Are you alright, love?”
You nod your head before pulling away and sitting on the couch. George and Fred each sit on either side of you while you grab the same supplies you had used previously from your detention, Murtlap essence and bandages. You help each boy and then yourself, before Fred speaks up. “We can’t keep letting her treat her like this,”
“If we do anything the punishments will continue or become worse,” You say, looking defeated.
“That’s a risk we’re willing to take,” George says, grabbing your hand. “A few pranks might not be so bad?”
You raise your eyebrow, “As long as you both are careful.”
Both boys get a smirk on their face as their eyes meet above your head. You roll your eyes and say goodnight before heading into your room.
 -------
The next night, you and the twins are walking back towards the common room when you see a Gryffindor boy sitting on a bench crying. George and Fred sit on either side of him, and you crouch down next to George.
“What’s your name?” Fred whispers.
“Michael,” The boy sniffles.
“It’s going to be fine,” Fred says.
“Yeah, it’s not as bad as it seems, see?” George says, showing him his hand. “It’s fading already.”
“You can hardly see ours anymore and the pain stops after a while.” Fred continues.
“Here, let me see,” You grab Michaels hand as he holds it out and put some of the Murtlap essence on it. “That should help with the pain.”
Michael lets out a small cry as you touch it, but seems relieved after a minute. You offer him a small smile, before an “Eh-hem” sounds down the hall. You notice Harry is approaching from one end and Umbridge stands in the doorway at another.
“As I told you once before, Mr. Potter, naughty children deserve to be punished,” Umbridge says with her nauseating smirk. “And, Ms. Y/L/N, I thought you knew by now the rules about male and female students.”
You just offer her a glare, to which she raises her eyebrow. “I look forward to seeing you in my office tomorrow evening then,” She turns around and heads out of the hallway.
“You know George, I’ve always felt our futures lay outside the world of academic achievement,” Fred says standing behind Harry.
“Fred, I’ve been thinking exactly the same thing.” George offers, standing next to Fred. You stand on the other side of George, your face filled with determination.
“Whatever you’re planning, I’m in.” You look up at the twins, with a wide smile on your face.

In the Middle Pt. 14
George x Reader & Cedric x Reader (Previously)

~Masterlist~
A/N: I am sorry if this Chapter is SUPER boring. I am not thrilled with the way that it turned out, but really would rather get this out and begin writing the next part. I also apologize for any errors or misspellings because I didn't proof read this one that thoroughly.
Chapter Summary: Christmas happens at 12 Grimmauld place
Pairing(s): Cedric x Reader (through Goblet of Fire) & George x Reader
Word Count: 2372
Warnings: Italics and Bold= Flashback
-------
Christmas at 12 Grimmauld Place
The days leading up to Christmas were spent at Sirius’s home or visiting Arthur at St. Mungo’s. Sirius seemed especially happy that he actually had company for Christmas and could often be seen dancing around his home. Your mother and him seemed to be getting along quite well, which raised your suspicions about something happening between the two of them, but you didn’t want to pry.
You woke up on Christmas morning and quietly made your way out of bed. Hermione having just arrived a few days’ prior, was sound asleep and so was Ginny. You did not want to risk waking them up so you closed the door behind you as quietly as possible. Only to turn the corner towards the kitchen and run right into George. He quickly catches you, wrapping his arm around your waist.
“Happy Christmas, Y/N.” He says with a wide smile on his face.
“Happy Christmas, Georgie!” You say placing a kiss on his lips. Suddenly, Fred comes down the stairs. You can hear a faint sniffle coming from the kitchen, which the three of you cautiously approach. Once in the kitchen, you can see Molly leaning over a small wrapped package and crying.
You all three bolt forward, “Mum, are you alright?” Fred asks, wrapping his arms around her.
You look at the package, noticing the neatly printed name on the top, Percy. The present was completely unopened. Molly wipes her eyes, “He didn’t even send a letter.”
“Oh, Molly.” You said wrapping her into a hug along with George. You knew Percy hadn’t asked about Arthur nor went to visit him. On top of that, he’s sent back his Christmas jumper.
“Percy’s nothing more than a humongous pile of rat droppings –,“ Fred states, looking back at the gift.
“Fred!” You say, before swatting him on the arm. It didn’t seem to help; Molly was still standing there crying. “Why don’t you two go see what the others are up to?”
They nod their heads before apparating away, assuming to Ron and Harry’s room. You move Molly over to a chair so she can sit and move Percy’s gift out of her line of vision. “Don’t forget Arthur gets to come back today!” You say, attempting to lighten the mood.
A weak smile forms on Molly’s face, before she pats your arm. “It’s quite alright, dear.”
“Well, while you head off to pick him up. How about I bake some Christmas cookies?” You ask, before grabbing some ingredients.
“That would be lovely, Y/N.” She still sounded a million miles away from here. But the crying had weakened. The next time you saw Percy, you made a mental note to give him a piece of your mind. You could hear more people begin to stir as “Merry Christmas” was thrown around by the others in the house.
-------
Molly eventually went to pick up Arthur, telling everyone she’d give them her gifts when she got back. Everyone else opened the other ones and you continued to make cookies. Occasionally, ducking down when the small Santa flying around the room got a little too close. Most inhabitants were hanging out in the kitchen, snatching up cookies as you made them. You were finishing up the last batch when Molly walked in with Arthur and put him at the head of the table.
“Here we go, Daddy’s back!” She says, wheeling Arthur up to the table. “Sit down, sit down!”
Everyone takes a seat around the table and you place a plate of cookies in the middle before taking your seat next to George. Molly looks a little better now that Arthur is here and quickly begins handing out her gifts. She hands you one, then mixes around Fred and George’s before settling and giving them each a gift. They quickly exchange before unwrapping them, pulling out two identical scarves. As you unwrap your own, you notice a very similar scarf, with slightly different coloration than the two boys.
“Thank you so much Molly!” You exclaim, wrapping the scarf around your neck as Fred and George do the same.
“Of course, dear!” She says, just as Harry walks in. You notice Sirius and your mum standing in the doorway, whispering to each other.
“A Christmas toast, to Mr. Harry Potter without whom I would not be here.” Arthur says, raising his glass. “Harry.”
“Harry!” Everyone says in unison, raising their own glasses towards him, including Sirius and your mother who are leaning in the doorway. Harry offers everyone a small smile, before opening his own presents.
“Thank you so much, Y/N for baking all these cookies.” Molly says, putting them onto the table.
“It was no problem at all! My little Christmas gift to everyone.” You reply with a wide smile on your face as everyone continues to eat the cookies. After a while, people slowly begin to leave the room. It began with Molly and Arthur who wanted to ensure that Arthur got some rest. Eventually, it was just Fred, George and yourself left in the kitchen.
You make your way over to the tree in the kitchen, grabbing two boxes from underneath with Fred and George written on each one. You hand each of them their gifts with a smile on your face. They each open them, revealing their Quidditch jersey’s altered without the cape into more of a shirt style, on the back of each is ‘Weasley’ as well as their numbers.
“I asked Angelina if I could have your jersey’s to make something for Christmas. I knew how much you both were going to miss Quidditch so I wanted you each to have something to remember it.” You smile at the boys, suddenly remembering one other thing. “Oh! And this,”
You run back over to the tree, grabbing a smaller gift and handing it to the both of them. In this gift was a moving picture of the three of you from your second year at Hogwarts, right before your first Quidditch game. It was all George and Fred on either side of you, wrapping their arms around you and showing off a large smile. Suddenly, the memory came flooding back to you.
-------
You stood with your broom, waiting outside the Quidditch pitch, letting out a large sigh. You could feel your nerves forming as each minute went by. Charlie Weasley was standing in front of everyone giving a pep talk. Oliver Wood was standing nearby taking in every word, knowing he would be Quidditch captain the next year. You tried to focus on your broom and the small initials etched into the end, your fathers.
George and Fred came on either side of you. “You alright, Y/N?” George asks.
You nod your head slowly, unsure why you let these two boys convince you that playing Quidditch was a good idea. Suddenly, someone with a camera comes up, snapping a picture of the three of you. You force your most convincing smile through the nerves, then continue staring at the broom handle.
“Oi, you’ll be alright!” Fred says, grabbing your shoulder. “We’ll be there to protect you!”
Both boys lift their bats and take a mock swing. You knew they were good at being Beaters. You look at them with a wide grin, “Okay. I’m trusting you.”
You all walk out onto the pitch and begin your first game. You and Angelina were able to score a few goals and both boys tried to keep their promise to you throughout the match. But, Slytherin was always known for playing dirty. While the boys did their best keeping the Bludgers off of you, they did not account for the Slytherin chaser ramming you and knocking you off your broom. You landed on the ground, the wind immediately being knocked out of you. You could hear that the Slytherin seeker grabbed the snitch, allowing Slytherin to win the game. Charlie landed nearby and ran towards you, followed by George and Fred and then the rest of the team.
“Y/N!” Charlie called kneeling next to you. You could see the worry on the twins faces as you stood up slowly with the help of Charlie. You look at everyone with a smile forming on your face.
“Never better. We’ll get ‘em next time!” You say excitedly. The rest of the team looks at you concerned with your sudden excitement confusing them.
“Did you hit your head?” Fred asks, looking at you.
“Maybe?” You touch the back of your head, checking for a bruise. You wince slightly as you feel a small bump forming. “Besides that point, next year, we’re taking them down.”
Everyone nods in agreement and begins chatting happily as you make your way back towards the locker rooms.
-------
“You two really helped me realize how much fun Quidditch was,” You smile down at the photo. “So, I thought I would try and remind you of the better memories.”
“Well, I don’t know how we’re supposed to top that.” Fred says with a smile. “This is amazing, Y/N.”
“I mean, look at us! We were so young,” George said with a laugh.
“Well, in an attempt,” Fred begins.
“This is for you.” George finishes by handing you a small box. You unwrap it carefully, reveling an abnormally large vintage key.
“A key?” You ask, holding it in your hand. You look up at the boys who both have a wide grin on their faces.
“We think we found a place for the shop in Diagon Alley with a flat above it,” Fred says, his smile only getting larger as he continues. “We want you to move in with us.”
“But George and I have only been together for a few days.”
“But we’ve been best friends since our first year!” Fred argues.
“You’d have your own room and if you did decide to start staying in mine. We’ll convert it into an office space,” George grabs your hand.  “We honestly couldn’t imagine living somewhere and not including you.”
“Besides you’ve always supported our shop and we want you to be a part of it.” Fred says, looking at you with wide pleading eyes.
“How could I possibly say no to my two best friends?” You say, laughing.
“We have so many ideas!” Fred says, getting up from the kitchen table and winking at George. “I believe George had something to give you.”
You look at George, who has now placed another small box in front of you. You unwrap it to find a petite necklace that’s glowing slightly in its packaging. “George, is this moonstone?” You carefully run your fingers over the pendant.
“That’s correct,” He says with a smile, taking the necklace out and draping it around your neck. His fingers lightly touch the back of your neck, causing a shiver down your spine. You turn to face him, kissing him lightly.
“It’s perfect, Georgie,” You kiss him again, softly. You can hear Hermione and Ron walking towards the door, shouting something at each other, before entering the room.
“One of these days, we’ll have a moment alone together.” George says laughing before the two of you head into the hallway.
You’re walking towards the stairs when you watch Harry walk out of one of the rooms and into the kitchen where you see Sirius and your mother having a conversation. Suddenly, Sirius pulls her into an embrace and kisses her softly before holding his face in her hands. You grab George’s arm quickly and point towards the opening. You suspected something was happening between the two of them, but you also hoped she would’ve said something to you.
“I’ll catch up with you, okay?” You say before heading into the room. They both immediately notice you and step away. Your mum looks over at Sirius who is already walking out of the room.
She lets out a sigh once Sirius leaves the room. “Listen, I know I haven’t been the best mother to you, especially since you started going to Hogwarts.”
You shake your head, “Mum, I’m not mad about you and Sirius.”
She looks at you, curious. “You’re not?”
“Of course not. You’ve been living your own life since my first year at Hogwarts.”  You sigh, meeting her eye. “I always assumed there was a reason I would stay with Grandma or the Weasley’s.”
“I had lost my husband and four of my closest friends, all within the span of a year. And here I was expected to raise a small child by myself,” She stares at the ground, trying to come up with the words. “It should’ve been me.”
“What?” You ask, taking a small step towards her.
“I was only nineteen and more than ready to fight in the war. Your father was the one who wanted to be a parent so badly, that I offered to join the Order, while he took care of you,” She looked up at you now, her eyes becoming puffier by the minute. “But, he wouldn’t have it, so he joined instead of me. In order to protect us and he sacrificed his life protecting others.”
You walk over to her and put your arms around her. “You should continue to live your life however you want. I’ll be okay.”
“I always felt so guilty about letting your father join the Order and then sending you off to spend time with anyone except myself,” She sighs, wrapping her arms around you. “But, once I got the second chance to join the Order, I knew what I had to do.”
“I’m not mad about you joining the Order either. I think it’ll be good for you.”
“I’m so proud of you, Darling.” She says, stepping out of the hug and looking at you. “I know you go back to Hogwarts soon, but I am so glad we’ve gotten to spend some time together.”
“Me too.” You say, smiling back at her. Oddly enough, even though you knew that you weren’t going to see her that often, you were glad she had Sirius and vice versa. You give her one last hug before heading up the stairs into Fred and George’s room and prepare to return to Hogwarts in a few days.

In the Middle Update!
Hey Everyone!
I am currently in the middle of writing the newest chapter. I am not loving how this chapter has been turning out, so I’ve been rewriting it a few times. Also, I am a week away from graduating college (scary stuff I know). So, I’ve been trying to focus on that more than anything.
In short, I will have the newest chapter up no later than next Friday (the 18th) and will be able to upload more frequently from there.
As always, thank you so much for your support! I love reading your comments, they’ve really helped keep my motivation up!

In the Middle Pt. 13
George x Reader & Cedric x Reader (Previously)

~Masterlist~
A/N: There’s a huge hint here somewhere on something that happens in this chapter and I am SO excited.
Chapter Summary: Detention with Umbridge and a snake attack.
Pairing(s): Cedric x Reader (through Goblet of Fire) & George x Reader
Word Count: 2629
Warnings: Mentions of blood and of someone getting hurt
-------
The Days Before Christmas
The next day, Madam Pomfrey had dismissed you allowing you to head back to the Gryffindor common room. You went with Fred and George to hand your brooms over to Umbridge. You reluctantly gave it to her and she took it with a smirk, chaining it to a wall in the room. The twins knew how much that broom meant to you, considering it had been your fathers from when he had attended Hogwarts. They made a promise to you that you would all get your brooms back before the end of the year. But, it did not make handing it over any easier.
Now Christmas break was approaching and you had almost fully healed from your injuries. You three continued to attend the DA meetings, it seems as if that was the only thing keeping them around anymore.
You almost managed to get through to Christmas break without receiving a single detention. But you’re standing with Lee in the hall, while he holds a Weasley product in his hand. Out of the corner of your eye, you see a glint of pink.  You quickly grab the product from Lee, where he lets out a “Hey!”. Suddenly, Umbridge looks up, her face turning into her signature twisted grin.
“What do we have here, Miss Y/L/N? Mr. Jordan?” She says looking between the two of you.
“I was trying to convince Lee to help me with some product, but he wasn’t interested.” You knew Lee had just got in trouble for talking back to Umbridge in Defense Against the Dark Arts. He showed the three of you his hand when he got back and you didn’t want him to go through that again.
“But –“ Lee tried to object, but you shoot him a glare, causing him to stop.
“Usually, I would just give you both detention. But, I would hope Mr. Jordon learned from his last detention.” She shifts her gaze from Lee, over to you. “However, Miss Y/L/N, can meet me in my office at 5 o’ clock.”
Umbridge quickly turned away, walking back down the hall with her shoes clacking against the floor, echoing in the empty hall. Lee looks over at you, eyes wide with horror.
“You didn’t have to do that, Y/N.” He says. “Thank you.”
“Don’t worry Lee. You didn’t deserve a second detention.” You give him a small smile, before walking down the hall waiting for the night to come.
You managed to avoid Fred and George until your detention time with Umbridge. You knew Lee was going to tell them, but there was only a few hours until you needed to be there and didn’t want to freak them out just yet.
You walk into Umbridge’s office, sitting at the small desk waiting for you, where the notorious black quill was waiting for you.
“You will write ‘I will not break the rules’ until it sticks, Miss Y/L/N.” Umbridge sits at her desk, making herself a cup of tea. The spoon occasionally hitting the porcelain, making a clinking noise. She occasionally looked up at the clock, then back to you, waiting for you to begin.
You grabbed the quill and begin to write out the words. Immediately, your left hand begins to burn. You stare at it for a moment as the words begin to appear on the back of your hand, but then they heal almost instantly. You continue writing as the words begin to heal less often, blood dripping down the side of your hand. Your eyes begin to tear up, but you try your best to keep them in.
“Let me see.” She holds out her hand, taking yours. “It seems to have stuck. You may go.”
You look at the time, and notice that it’s 10 pm. You hold your hand as you walk to the common room, trying to stop it from bleeding anymore. You say the password and step into the room, where you see Fred and George waiting for you. George jumps up when he sees you, walking up to you. “Are you alright?”
“And don’t make any excuses,” Fred says getting up from his chair. “Lee already told us what happened.”
You let out a sigh and lift up your hand for the boys to see. You see them reading the words as George’s face goes from worry to complete anger.
“She’s going to pay for this.” He says with determination.
“George, it’s my fault. We weren’t being careful enough and I didn’t want Lee to get in trouble again.” After what Lee had told you, you made sure to grab bandages and Murtlap essence. You pull out your wand say “Tergeo” which cleared away any of the dried blood. You apply the Murtlap essence and wrap your hand.
“Doesn’t matter, Y/N! There shouldn’t even be a ban on the products!” Fred says, sitting back down. “This is torture.”
You shoot a look over at Fred. “Listen, Christmas break is in a few days. We can hatch a plan then. But for now, it’s best if we just stay out of Umbridge’s way.”
George did not say a single word, he just kept his eyes fixated on your hand. Ever since the night in the Hospital Wing, you two have not had a single moment alone. Between Umbridge keeping you apart and him and Fred working on getting their shop together, you haven’t had a chance to finish your conversation. You two would always make awkward eye contact in class or during DA meetings, which would make you blush every time.
Fred notices George’s concern and a sly grin forms across his face. “I’m going to head to bed. Take good care of that hand Y/N.” You look over at him and he winks before going up the stairs to the boy’s dormitory.
“George…” You grab his hand, standing in front of him, so he has to focus on your face. Your eyes meet, and the anger in his eyes turns to sadness.
“I just hate seeing you hurt.” He whispers, taking in the features of your face, before locking eyes with yours.
“I’ll be more careful.” You whisper back, not breaking eye contact. You can feel your cheeks getting warmer.
“Georgie, I –“ His hands cup your face as he pulls you in, pressing his lips to yours. You stand there for a moment, lips locked together. Your stomach gets twisted, filling with butterflies as the kiss deepens slightly. He pulls away, pressing his forehead to yours.
“I’ve been waiting to do that for a long time.” He says, a smile breaking out.
“How long?” You whisper, a small smile forming on your own.
“Since our fifth year.” He laughs at the thought of all the time he’s been wasting these last two years.
“Our fifth year?” You let out a breathless laugh. “And you never told me?”
He shrugs, pulling you close to him, “I didn’t want to ruin our friendship. I never knew if you felt the same.”
“I am oblivious to these things,” You think for a moment. “I never really even considered it a possibility until recently.”
“Until recently?” He pulls away, taking a seat on the couch. “When?”
You take a seat next to him, your legs touching as you look down at the ground. “That first day during Potions when I acted all weird? We made a love potion, and well, I smelt everything that reminded me of you.”
He was staring at you now with a wide smile spread across his face. He doesn’t say anything right away, taking in the information. Instead, he just takes in your features, his smile never wavering.
“What?” You ask and he kisses you again, softly this time. You want this kiss to last forever. His lips are soft and you can smell his cologne. But, he pulls away.
“Does this mean-?” He asks looking at you. You nod your head yes, kissing him again. You want to stay like this for as long as possible. “-we’re together?” He finishes as you pull away.
You smile, nodding your head again. “Yes.”
You stay on the couch for a while, both of you two excited to move. Suddenly, George let’s out a loud yawn. “Maybe we should get some rest.”
You nod your head, letting out a yawn of your own. He kisses you again and when you pull away, you’re both smiling.
“Goodnight, George.” You say before heading up stairs.
“Goodnight, Y/N.” He responds, heading up in his own direction.
 -------
That night, you were sleeping in your dorm room when someone began to shake you. “Y/N!” They whispered, trying to wake you up. Your eyes slowly open and you see Ginny, hovering over you.
“We need to get to Dumbledore’s office, somethings happened.” You can barely make out the worry in her face as you hop out of bed, meeting Fred, George and Professor McGonagall at the bottom. You’re suddenly aware that everyone is in their pajamas, hair messed up and looking absolutely exhausted.
“What happened?” You ask.
“Mr. Weasley’s been attacked.” Professor McGonagall says. Everyone’s eyes get wide. “Dumbledore will explain more when we get there.”
She quickly turns to walk out of the room and the four of you rush with her to Dumbledore’s office. George keeps glancing at you with worry in his eyes. You grab for his hand and squeeze it reassuringly. He gives you a small smile before you all step into the office.
“Harry – what’s going on?” Ginny asks, looking frightened.
Before Harry can respond, Dumbledore answers. “Your father has been injured while on patrol for the Order. He has been taken to St. Mungo’s Hospital. I am sending all of you all back to Sirius’s house.”
Professor McGonagall motions you all to gather around a chair where Ginny sat down and Ron was standing behind. You grab George’s hand tightly trying to comfort him. You look up at him, noticing he looks visibly shaken. He holds your hand tightly, eyes fixated on the scene in front of him.
“In the dream were you standing next to the victim or looking down at the scene?” Dumbledore asks Harry, whose covered in sweat, looking horrified.
“Neither, it was like a- Professor will you please just tell me what’s happening?” Harry asks.
Dumbledore begins to talk to Phineas who was one of the subjects of a painting. “Go to Grimmuald place and tell them Arthur Weasley has been gravely injured and that his children along with Y/N and Harry will be arriving shortly.”
Dumbledore continues talking around the room, ignoring Harry as he calls out to him.
“Look at me!” Harry finally yells. “What’s happening to me?”
Before Dumbledore can answer, one of the paintings comes back and tells him Umbridge is awake and walking around. “You must go now, via portkey.” He motions to a tea kettle sitting on his desk. Everyone gathers around it before grabbing on and landing in the hallway outside the kitchen in Sirius’s home. You land on the ground with a heavy thud, along with everyone else.
Suddenly, Sirius runs into the hall, looking anxious. He begins helping Ginny up, while George gets to his feet and helps you. Your mum enters the room, she gives you a weak smile.
“What’s going on?” Sirius asks.
“Ask Harry,” Fred says.
“Yeah, I want to hear this for myself,” George turns his head towards Harry, where you notice everyone was staring at him.
Harry explains what he saw, as if he was a bystander of the entire thing. You all stare at him in surprise. You can tell by his expression that he’s nervous.
“Is Mum here?” Fred asks, looking over at Sirius.
“She probably doesn’t know yet. I am assuming Dumbledore is telling her now.” Sirius replies.
“Well, we’ve got to go to St. Mungo’s!” Ginny said, looking down realizing you are all still in your pajamas. “Do you have cloaks we can borrow?”
“You’re not going to St. Mungo’s.” Your mother replies.
“Elenora is right. How would you explain how you knew Arthur was attacked before his wife?” Sirius adds in.
“What does that matter?” George asks.
“He’s our dad!” Fred yells.
“We do not need to draw attention to the fact that Harry is having visions. What would the Ministry think?” Sirius was beginning to get angry, you could hear it in his voice.
Both of them had expressions that said they could care less what the Ministry said. This back and forth continued for a while, with Sirius, Fred and George all getting angry at one another.
“Let’s just sit down at the table.” Sirius says, trying to calm himself. “We need to wait to hear from your mother.”
Ginny sat down first, slumping into the chair. You sat down, as Fred sat next to Ginny and George on your other side. Ron and Harry shrugged before taking their own seats, and Sirius sat nearby followed by your mother. Sirius offered everyone drinks but no one seemed that interested. Everyone sat silently, waiting to hear from Molly.
A burst of fire popped up, dropping a letter in front of George, who began to read it out loud. “Dad is still alive. Headed to St. Mungo’s now. I will send news once I can, stay at the house. Mum.”
Everyone sat in silence from this moment on. Fred began to doze off, his head bobbing up and down. Ginny was curled in her chair, eyes wide open. Your mum had fallen asleep in the chair, her head in her hand. Ron’s face was covered by his hands, so you were unable to tell if he was sleeping or not. And Harry and Sirius looked wide awake. You lean your head on George’s shoulder and he lays his head on top of yours. You two fall asleep this way, only waking up when you hear the kitchen door swing open.
Molly walks into the room, looking overrun by tiredness. “He’s going to be alright. We can see him later.”
You quickly get out of your chair, wrapping Molly in a hug, followed by Ginny and George. She pats your arm.
“I’ll start some breakfast.” Your mother says, getting up from the table. Sirius and Harry get up to help her, but before Harry can make it to the stove, Molly pulls him into a hug, whispering something to him.
“Sirius, do you mind if we stay through Christmas?” She asks, looking over.
“I would be delighted!” He says, smiling at Molly. Molly quickly began to help with breakfast as Sirius and Harry walked out of the room.
You let out a big yawn and George looked over at you, “Tired, love?”
You nod your head, before yawning again. George kisses the top of your head. “Breakfast first, then we’ll get some sleep.”
You heard a gasp come from the stove, followed by an excited response. “When did this happen?”
You look over at Molly, who even though looked exhausted, her face was in a wide smile. George suddenly looked embarrassed and gave Molly a small smile. “Last night?” George replies, looking over at you.
After breakfast is over, everyone heads to get some sleep. You follow George and Fred to their room, where Fred immediately falls onto the bed and falls asleep. You sit on the edge of George’s bed. He lays down and looks at you.
“Are you alright, Georgie?” You ask, meeting his gaze.
“Better now that I know Dad will be okay.” He says before grabbing your arm and pulling you down next to him. You scoot closer to him, resting your head on his chest as he wraps his arms around you. You both slowly drift off to sleep in each other’s arms.

In the Middle Pt. 12
George x Reader (Eventually) & Cedric x Reader (Previously)
Tumblr media
~Masterlist~
A/N: Long chapter! I am going to attempt to post every Friday (ideally)! Thank you so much for your continued support!
Chapter Summary: Dumbledore’s Army begins and the first Quidditch match of the year!
Pairing(s): Cedric x Reader (Mentioned, through Goblet of Fire) & George x Reader (eventually)
Word Count: 3033
Warnings: Mentions of injury and blood
--------
Wands and Broomsticks
As weeks begin to go by, you continue to attend classes, go to Quidditch practice and overall do your best to stay out of Umbridge’s way. During tryouts, Ron had been appointed keeper for the team. Unfortunately, he hit Katie Bell with a Quaffle and gave her a bloody nose, which Fred accidently worsened by attempting to give her a blood stopping candy and giving her the opposite. You attempted to heal her on the field, but only managed to control some of the bleeding and eventually took her to the Hospital Wing. You ended up helping the twins figure out a way to ensure the colors were noticeably different, so it did not happen again.
Over the last few weeks, Umbridge had been appointed High Inquisitor and implemented a number of ridiculous decrees that the student body needed to handle. She even went as far as to forbid Weasley products, which made it more difficult for the twins to improve their business. You felt like the shadiest person ever, when they would ask you to bring a specific student a product slyly so Umbridge wouldn’t find out. The other decree stating that boys and girls weren’t allowed to be within six inches of one another was constantly getting you three in trouble, making your only time to really hang out together in the common room. You had yet to get detention for this and always were trying your best to avoid it altogether.
You’re walking with the twins towards Hogsmeade to attend a meeting that Hermione, Ron and Harry invited you to. Snow began to fall as the three of you walked, making you shiver from the cold. George would never admit this to you, but winter was his favorite season. Specifically, because he loved the way the snowflakes stuck to your hair and how cute you looked when your nose and cheeks began to turn pink. He looked over at you now taking in the sight of you. You catch his eye and offer him a smile as you reach the Hog’s Head Inn.
You see Hermione, Ron and Harry sitting at the front. You three take a seat off to the side by the window as more students begin to pile into the building. You notice Luna Lovegood, Cho Chang, Neville Longbottom and many others filling in the main room. Hermione stands up first to address the room.
“-We need a proper teacher. One who has experience defending themselves against the dark arts.” Hermione says, scanning the faces of those in the room.
“Why?” Zacharias, a boy from Hufflepuff, asks rudely. You met him a few times, but never really knew him.
“Why? Because you-know-who’s back you tosspot.” Ron interjects.
“So Dumbledore says, because he says.” The boy continues. “Where’s the proof?”
“Are you going to tell us more about how Diggory got killed?” Another boy, named Michael from Ravenclaw adds in.
You immediately look up once you hear Cedric’s last name. You look over at Harry who locks eyes with you. Harry could tell you wanted to avoid the subject. You already had all the information you needed to know about his death, discussing it further would only fuel the nightmare plaguing your mind at night.
“I’m not going to talk about Cedric, so if that’s why you’re here you mind as well clear out now.” Harry said firmly. You gave him a grateful smile before he turned and began whispering to Hermione.
“Is it true you can produce a patronus charm?” Luna speaks up.
“Yes, I’ve seen it.” Hermione adds before Harry can interrupt. Suddenly, everyone is throwing out stories of the great things Harry has accomplished thus far. Murmurs erupted through the room.
“Facing this stuff in real life is not like school. Out there, when you’re a second away from being murdered or watching a friend die right before your eyes-“ You look down at this moment, thinking about what Harry went through with Cedric. “You don’t know what that’s like.”
“That’s why we need your help, if we’re going to have any chance of beating Voldemort.” Hermione looks at Harry intently.
“I’m in.” You say, meeting Harry’s eyes. You feel everyone’s eyes land on you and the whispers begin. You stand up and clear your throat. “Listen, I know you all are curious about what happened to Cedric, but it won’t bring him back. Nothing will. So, we can either sit around and accept what happened or we can do something about it.”
You look over at Harry, Hermione and Ron. “Just show me where to sign up.”
Hermione nods her head and pulls out a parchment already signed by herself, Harry and Ron. You walk over to the table and put your name down, smiling at the three of them as you do. George follows signing his name after yours and then Fred. People begin to leave after signing, but you three stick around and wait to discuss it more with the trio. Neville and Ginny also hang around and chat with you, until everyone else has left.
As you walk back across the bridge to get back to school, Harry begins to speak. “First we need to find a place to practice where Umbridge won’t find out.”
“The shrieking shack?” Ginny suggests.
“It’s too small.” Harry responds.
“The Forbidden Forest?” Hermione chimes in.
“Not bloody likely!” Ron exclaims.
“Harry, what happens if Umbridge does find out?” Ginny asks.
“Who cares? I mean, it's sort of exciting, isn't it, breaking the rules.” Hermione’s face breaks into a wide grin.
“Who are you and what have you done with Hermione Granger?” Ron looks shocked at Hermione’s sudden determination.
“I’m with Ron. Who are you, exactly?” You laugh.
“Anyway, at least we know one positive thing that came from today.” Hermione looks over at Harry.
“What’s that?” He asks.
“Cho couldn't take her eyes off you, could she?” Hermione smirks over at Harry. You nudge him as you walk by and offer a smile before you all head towards the Great Hall.
 -------
Later that day, Umbridge inputs another educational decree stating that “All student organizations are hence forth disbanded”. You stare at the sign is disbelief knowing that Umbridge had discovered you all were meeting. Suddenly, Neville runs up to you all, “I found a place!”
“You did?” You ask as everyone turns to look at him. He takes you all down a long corridor in the castle, that you feel you’ve gone down a million times. Suddenly, a large door appears and you all walk in. The room is large, with large grates on the bottom, mirrors lining the walls, a fireplace, and a number of other amenities that you would need to make Dumbledore’s Army a success.
“You've done it, Neville! You've found the Room of Requirement!” Hermione exclaims excitedly.
“The what?” Ron asks.
“It's also known as the Come and Go Room. The Room of Requirement only appears when a person has real need of it, and is always equipped with the seeker's needs.” Hermione explains.
“It's brilliant! It's like Hogwarts wants us to fight back!” You haven’t seen Harry look this excited since the last time he saw Sirius. You began to feel excited at the possibilities at your fingertips. Maybe you had a chance after all. This began the training for Dumbledore’s army.
 -------
The meetings days were always random, but you were always excited when you received news of the next meeting. You were reaching November now and the past few weeks you felt as if you had learned so much from Harry during the DA meetings. Ever since Fred learned about your feelings towards George, he makes every excuse possible for you two to be alone, especially during DA meetings. During Qudditch practice, Fred would race off to guard the other chasers so that George would be more focused on you. Honestly, you didn’t mind it and George didn’t seem to either.
The morning of the first Quidditch match came much quicker than you were expecting, but you felt more than ready to compete. You were already in your Quidditch uniform chatting with Fred and George, when you see Ron walk in looking pale as ever. Harry and Ron sat down next to you and across from Hermione and Ginny who were wearing red and gold scarves. Angelina and Katie walked up to everyone.
“When you’re ready, we’re going to head straight down to the pitch.” She smiled reassuringly at everyone.
“Ron needs to eat and then we’ll be down.” Harry said. You and the twins got up from your seats and began to follow the two girls to the pitch.
Once Harry and Ron arrives, Angelina began her pre-match talk, discussing the new members of the Slytherin team, Crabbe and Goyle. Everyone grabs their brooms and begins to enter the pitch. There was muffled singing, cheers and whistles as both teams walked single file, meeting in the middle. The captains shook hands and everyone mounted their brooms, beginning the match.
You knew Lee was commentating, but you could barely hear the commentary as the Slytherin students sang. Angelina passed you the Quaffle allowing you to fly towards the goal posts. You see a Bludger headed in your direction, but George quickly swoops in and hits it towards the other team. You manage to make the goal and hear the cheers from the Gryffindor side.
“Ten points to Gryffindor from Y/N!” Lee yells. You notice a Slytherin student now has the Quaffle, Angelina tries to intervene, but it unable and Slytherin scores a goal. You continue hearing the song playing in your ears from the Slytherin side.
Weasley is our king
Weasley was born in a bin
Weasley cannot save a thing
You knew they were talking about Ron and that made your blood boil, but you tried your best to not let it get to you. The came continues on as both teams go back and forth scoring. You’ve made quite a few and have managed to avoid Slytherin’s brutal play style thus far. You see Draco yell something to his teammates, but are unable to make out the words. You lock eyes with him and he gives you a mischievous grin that turns your stomach.
You’re about to grab the Quaffle, when you see out of the corner of your eye a Bludger heading in your direction. You quickly maneuver out of the way, doing a roll on your broom. You manage to outrun it and wonder where George or Fred are. When you spot them you notice that Slytherin is distracting them. You notice that Harry has found the snitch and both him and Draco are chasing after it. You grab the Quaffle and attempt to call out to Angelina to try to have her help George and Fred when you notice another Bludger headed your way. You keep going, gaining George’s attention as you do and he swoops in to hit it away from you, but his eyes immediately go wide, “Y/N!” and suddenly another Bludger slams into your side, sending you off your broom and you land on the ground with a thud.
Your ears are ringing and as you look over, Harry lands next to you, holding the Golden Snitch. You see Angelina land and say something, but you can’t hear it, the ringing is unbearable. Harry responds and looks over at you, once he sees your wide eye expression he scrambles to his feet. George is next to you now, attempting you help you up, you wince as he attempts to move your abdomen. He’s saying something, but you just shake your head. You see Draco headed in your direction. He’s yelling something at Harry but you can’t hear it.
George has managed to help you to your feet now, you lift the side of your jersey and see a giant bruise beginning to form. Suddenly, you can hear everything, the yelling and cheering from all over the stadium.
“-for his father-“ Draco said, you could see that George was furious, but you were unsure what he was saying. You saw Madam Hooch yelling at one of the beaters from Slytherin. George steps in front of you protectively and you grab his arm in order to prevent him from doing anything he’ll regret. Draco smirks as he realizes he’s gained both of the twin’s attention and points at you.
“Protecting your girlfriend there Weasley? We tried to mess her pretty little face, but it seems my men were being generous.” Draco continues to look smug throughout the exchange. Harry is holding George back with you, you wince at the pain from your side as he attempts to pull away from you. Fred is being held back by Angelina, Katie and the reserve player Alicia. Then Draco says something about Harry’s mother and that sends Harry flying towards him. Without the extra help, George gets out of your grip and does the same. Both of them sending Draco to the ground.
“George! Harry! Stop!” You yell, clutching your side as you tried to go after them. You attempt to pull George away, but the pain makes it too difficult. “IMPEDIMENTA!” Both boys and yourself are sent away from Draco, who is now bleeding and crying on the pitch.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Madam Hooch screamed at them. “Go back to the head of house office, now!”
George looks at you and almost says something, but just turns and walks off the pitch. Fred runs off after them. Madam Hooch calls for the Mediwizards to take Draco to the hospital wing when she notices you clutching your side as well. “Take this one too.”
They help you onto one of the stretchers and you let them take you to the Hospital Wing where Madam Pomfrey begins to tend to your injuries. “I always told you that Quidditch was dangerous!” She said while looking at your side. You let out a laugh and winced immediately.
“Broken ribs.” She says. “Should heal in no time, however, you should stay in the ward overnight just to make sure it’s nothing worse. The bruising will last a few days, but I can fix the ribs now.”
You nod your head and look down the room where Draco was going on and on about his injuries. “I have to stay here, with him?” You whisper to Madam Pomfrey.
“He’ll be heading back to his common room tonight. The nurses have already given him the okay.” She looks down at the boy. “Malfoy, go to your common room. There’s nothing more here for us to help you with!”
Draco continues to groan until Crabbe and Goyle make their way into the room. Angelina, Katie, and Alicia have already visited you and informed you that you won by this point, but had already left. Draco eventually leaves with his friends and lets out a “my father will hear about this” in the hallway.
But you hear a response, “I’ll do it again, ya tosser!” You hear footsteps running down the hall as George walks into the room, followed by Fred, Harry, Hermione, Ron and Ginny. George quickly rushes over to you, “Are you alright?”
“I’m okay, thank you.” You him a tired smile and a wave to everyone else as they stand around the bed. Everyone had solemn faces, and didn’t say much. “Okay, what’s the bad news?”
George lets out a sigh, “We’re kicked off the Quidditch team, indefinitely.”
“Who’s we?” You ask, looking around.
“Me, Fred, Harry…” There’s a pause when he looks at you. “...and you.”
“And me?” You shout, sitting up in bed.
“Draco claims that you helped George and I. Then Umbridge claimed Fred had intent.” Harry adds in.
“I bloody well would’ve done more if I’d have known I was kicked off the team!” Fred exclaims.
“We’re sorry Y/N, we know you were only trying to help.” George says, sitting in a chair next to your bed.
You give him a comforting smile, “Don’t worry about it, Quidditch wouldn’t be that much fun without you three anyways. Angelina is going to lose it.”
“Already has. She waited outside of Professor McGonagall’s office after visiting you to figure out what happened. She’s pretty upset to say the least.” Harry says, looking down at the floor.
Madam Pomfrey comes into the room, “It’s getting late everyone. I think you should all head back to your common rooms.”
Everyone waves goodbye and leaves except for George who remains planted in his seat. “Do you need something, Mr. Weasley?” She asks, looking over at him.
“Do you mind if I stay, just to talk to Y/N?” He questions, looking at her.
“I guess one person wouldn’t hurt.” She says, leaving the room.
George immediately scoots his chair closer to your bed. “Are you sure you’re okay?”
“I’ll be fine, Georgie. I promise.” You smile at him and give his hand a reassuring squeeze. “Are you going to be okay without Quidditch?”
He looks at you for a moment and then sighs. “I will. It’s an unjust punishment given by an unjust Professor.”
Your hands intertwine and you look at each other for a moment. “Y/N…”
“Ahem.” You hear it in the doorway and groan. When you look over at Umbridge, she’s standing there in one of her all pink outfits. “Are you looking for a detention on top of your suspension, Mr. Weasley?”
“No.” He responds getting up from his seat. He looks at you, with anger on his face. Before turning and looking at her.
“Then you can head off to the Gryffindor common room. I will be expecting your brooms to my office by the end of tomorrow.” She says, stepping out of the doorway to let him through.
“I will be expecting yours as well, Miss Y/L/N.” She says, glaring at you and turning to walk out. “I’m sure they told you already, but you’ll no longer be participating in Quidditch.”
She walks out with a smirk, leaving you alone in the room. You stare at the ceiling, wondering what George was going to tell you. Before slowly, drifting off to sleep.

In the Middle Pt. 11
George x Reader (Eventually) & Cedric x Reader (Mentioned, Previously)
Tumblr media
~Masterlist~
A/N: This chapter is kind of a fluff piece that I was interested in writing about, making it a slightly shorter chapter. But, still an important one. Also I reached over 100 followers! Thank you to everyone for the support, I really appreciate it!
Chapter Summary: Y/N smells something very specific when an amortentia potion is created.
Pairing(s): Cedric x Reader (Mentioned, through Goblet of Fire) & George x Reader (eventually)
Word Count: 1.7k
Warnings: None!
Amortentia
You walk out of Herbology where George is waiting for you and Fred to head over to Defense Against the Dark Arts. As George and Fred talk, you stayed silent, memories still filling your head. You three walk into Professor Umbridges class room. Fred and George sit next to each other, and you sit at the desk next to them. “I really wish our classrooms sat three people.” You say, taking out your book.
“Getting lonely over there, Y/N?” Fred teases as someone sits down next to you. You look over at the person and notice that it’s Lee.
“Nope, I’m good over here.” You smirk at the twins and wave at Lee as he sits down. Professor Umbridge steps up to the front of the classroom and gives her typical “Ahem”, to silence the class.
“Wands away please.” She scans the room, ensuring that everyone has put their wands away. The four of you share confused glances at each other. For the next hour, Umbridge continues to talk, discussing how there will be no magic usage in this class.
You raise your hand, receiving a glare from Umbridge. “Are you saying, in a N.E.W.T level course, we’re not allowed to use magic?”
“That’s correct, Miss-?”
“Y/L/N.”
“The Ministries best educational experts have designed this class to be taught without the need for magic.” Her face breaks into a wide grin and she continues on with her lesson.
“But-“ You try to interrupt.
“Students will raise their hand if they want to speak in my class Miss Y/L/N.” You try to raise your hand but she ignores you. You look over and see George raises his own hand.
“Yes, Mr.-?”
“Weasley. You’re telling us, we are not allowed to learn advanced spells in an advanced spell class?” George looks at Umbridge with absolute disgust.
“As long as you study the text, Mr. Weasley, you’ll be able to perform the spells.” She immediately turns back around. “That will be enough questions for today.”
By this point, numerous hands were raised and she ignores them all to continue her lesson, which concluded with all of you taking and retaking pages of notes.
You all walk out of the class quickly, making your way to the Great Hall before saying anything. “A non-magic class! Absolutely ridiculous.” You say, while eating your lunch.
“I knew we weren’t going to be great friends.” George shakes his head, a smirk on his face.
“We’ll just have to make our own magic.” Fred looks over at Lee. “You’re free after lunch, yeah?”
Lee nods his head, mouth filled with food. “Are we going to sell some Weasley products?” He asks.
“Exactly.” Fred’s face breaks into a wide grin. “After all, time is galleons. Plus now I have a personal mission to get under Umbridges skin.”
You roll your eyes and finish eating just as the bell rings. “Well, I am off to potions. Then I’ll see you in Transfiguration, George?”
George nods his head and begins to get up off the bench, while Lee and Fred are still planted in their seats. “Where are you going?” Lee asks, looking at George.
“Oh, I was going to walk Y/N to potions.” He replies, watching you walk out of the Great Hall. “But, she’s already gone.”
Lee and Fred share a knowing look before continuing to eat their lunch before heading off to sell some of the Weasley products.
-------
You make your way into the potions classroom, where most of the seats are occupied by Slytherin students, however you notice a Hufflepuff girl you met previously and sit next to her, smiling at her as you sit down.
Professor Snape walks in with a flourish and the class quickly becomes quiet. “Now, you were all in this class last year, so I trust you know how this goes. Today, we will be creating Amortentia: a powerful love potion. Begin.”
Everyone quickly began working on their potions, grabbing ingredients and following them closely. Professor Snape hovered around your table, seemingly more than other because it was made up of other houses besides Slytherin. He was a hard person to read, but you felt as you created your potion, he seemed pleased with your methods. After all, he hadn’t insulted you in the last few minutes or so.
As you finish the last part, the potion tints into a mother-of-pearl sheen and spiraling steam rises from the cauldron. You look around and notice that not very many other students have this outcome and Professor Snape scowls at them. He looks over at yours, and looks surprised.
“Well, Y/L/N, you never cease to surprise me. Turns out you’re not completely incompetent. Everyone come around and smell it to demonstrate the differences in aromas. Y/L/N, if you’ll start.” Professor Snape looks at you expectantly.
You lean over the cauldron and smell the potion. The first smell that hits you is fire, or more specifically, fireworks. But also something sweet, like candy. Finally, a scent you could not determine. You look over at Snape, who’s still stating at you.
“I smell fireworks, candy and something else pleasant but am not sure what it is.” You look at him and he nods.
“Very well. Next.” He points at a random student and this continues until the class has ended. Professor Snape makes sure everyone bottles up any viable potions, and puts them on his desk for grading.
You walk out of the potions classroom and immediately see George leaning against the wall. As you approach him, he smiles brightly at you. The moment you approach him, a familiar scent fills the air. Your eyes widen when you realize that it’s the same one from the potion. You look around at first, the hall is filled with students leaving classes, but the scent continues to linger throughout transfiguration.
The entire lesson, you can barely concentrate. You’re assuming the smell is George’s cologne or George himself. You’re unable to look at him, every time he tries to ask you a question, you just nod. He looks at you concerned, but does not want to push you. Half way through the class, George stops trying to gain your attention and focuses on the class. The moment the bell rings, you gather your things and sprint out the classroom.
“Y/N!” You hear George call behind you, but you keep going occasionally looking back to make sure he isn’t following you.
You make your way up and into the Astronomy tower and sit on the steps at the top. A million thoughts flew thoughts your mind at a rapid pace. You felt as if you were going mad. Did you really fancy George so soon after losing Cedric? Did you even fancy George? Had you always fancied George? Was that final scent really supposed to be George?
You never knew why, but the top of the Astronomy tower always made you feel calm. Even if the memories surrounding here made everything more confusing, thinking about the largeness of the world made your problems seem so small.
You let out a sigh and tip your head back, resting it on the wall behind you, looking out at the stars. “What am I going to do?” You whisper.
You hear someone walking up the steps and out of the corner of your eye and see a glance of red hair. You could feel your eyes getting red, you weren’t ready to figure everything out now. You look over getting ready to tell George you didn’t want to talk, but instead find Fred walking up towards you.
“Don’t run.” He smirks, sauntering over to you.
You glare at him, not fully turning your head to face him. “Not running, Fred.”
“Still, could be George.” He sits down next to you.
“Still not George. You have completely different mannerisms.” Fred always teased you about knowing him and George apart, without even a second thought. You knew he secretly appreciated it, George did too. His family confused them or people always associated them together, but they were two different people entirely.
“George asked me to help look for you.” Fred looks over at you, questionably.
You slightly smelt the air and did not pick up the same scent from Fred that you got from George and the potion.
You sigh heavily, “We made a love potion in potions today.”
Fred looks at you, confused. “And?”
“You’ve heard of amortenita, correct?” You ask, looking back at him.
“The love potion that causes you to become infatuated with the person who made it?” His face become more confused, the longer the conversation continues.
“Well, it reminds you of the smells that a person finds most attractive.” You continue, hoping he’ll catch on before you just have to blurt it out.
“What does that have to do with you avoiding Geo-“ Suddenly, Fred stops and his eyes get wide and his face breaks out into a grin. He looks as if he wants to ask you a million questions but cannot seem to come out with the words.
“I could smell fireworks, something sweet like candy, and then I didn’t know what the last one was until I walked up to George.” You look down at the ground and shuffle your feet uncomfortably.
“What does this mean?” Fred questions.
“I really don’t know.” You continue looking down.
“You should tell him.” Fred says.
“I haven’t even worked out my own feelings yet. I couldn’t possibly tell him now.”
“I won’t tell him, but you should. Once you’re ready at least.” Fred sighs and puts a comforting hand on your shoulder. You hear someone else coming up the stairs and figure that it’s George coming up to find you.
“Are you alright, Y/N?” George asks, sitting on the opposite side of you.
“Yeah.” You give him a weak smile. “Just been a rough day back at school.”
He looks at you concerned and puts his arm around you while Fred does the same. He seems to let the subject go for a time being, not wanting to upset you too much.
“Did you want to head back to the common room?” Fred finally breaks the silence looking at the two of you. You nod your head and follow the boys back to the Gryffindor common room, thanking them before heading up to your dormitory.
