Hey i have some questions/need for advice if that’s okay? I really don’t know who to ask for advice on any of this so I hope this is okay! So I was born into a Christian (baptist) family, and I never really felt any faith or anything really towards our religion so I never really cared much about going to church or reading the Bible, but I’ve recently gotten to the point where I’ve been considering reading into Christianity again BUT I deal with a lot of delusion & mental illness, which I’m in therapy for. (BPD, Adhd, heavy paranoia, depersonalization & have dealt with religious delusions where I randomly get into “spiritual” tarot and “witch” stuff, and it’s never ever been good for me. And it feeds into what I can only describe as mania🙃) even in the spiritual phases though, I included Jesus and archangel Michael specifically into my beliefs but I feel like Christianity could be right for me, though I fear living a life of delusion that’s encouraged by having blind faith, you know? If you have any advice I’d really appreciate it and I’m so sorry for unloading this onto you!! 🥺
Oh I’ve also been wondering, does it say anything in the Bible about like, for example what would happen if someone were to die while on their path back to God? I’ve been curious about this for a while, like if someone’s actively trying to be better but aren’t there yet so you think they’d still go to hell for not being quite on the right path?
Hey there! Sorry for my late reply. Thank you for reaching out to me. It seems like you have a lot on your plate and I am sorry to hear of your struggles. With saying this.. hopefully I can shed some light on your situation.
Jesus is the only way to Heaven. There is no other way. Any religion or person that tells you otherwise is false. So if you are living in heavy delusion, line up the thoughts that you are having with what God's Word says. With saying this.. the fact you dabbled in witchcraft-y type things does not surprise me that you are struggling with delusion.
There is a Spiritual realm out there. There is a devil and there are demonic forces etc. When you dabble in witchcraft (or any sin rather) you open the doors for these spiritual forces to wreak havoc in your life. You're struggling with delusion because of this. There are various ways you can be set free from this however it all points back to Jesus. Ultimately faith in Him and what He did for you is what sets you free. With saying this, it's not always an overnight thing.. sometimes it takes hours, days, weeks, months or even years to be set free from these bondages but the first step is repentance of the sin and putting your faith in Jesus. Just to clarify what Jesus did for you: I want you to know that we are all sinners and need a Saviour; we all fall short (Romans 3:23). We see this in little children.. it is in their nature to be bad, you do not have to teach children how to be bad. The world is fallen, broken and sinful and there is NOTHING we can do to deem ourselves righteous because of our sinful state. If anyone tells you they don't sin at all they are lying (1 John 1:8) We all mess up. The whole purpose of the Old Testament actually is to show us this truth, that it is IMPOSSIBLE to keep the Law and to meet God's standards on our own. Cue Jesus. Jesus came onto this earth as God in flesh and lived a sinless life. He gave up His life to be beaten, tortured, murdered, crucified naked on a cross to pay for a "crime" He did not commit. That "crime" was our sins. Despite the fact He was innocent, He CHOSE to die the way He did for you and me. He chose to bear the wrath of God for EVERYONE'S sins.. so that we could have an intimate relationship with God. Before Jesus, our sin separated us from God. No matter what we did we couldn't have an intimate relationship with God because of our sin. But Jesus changed all that. Jesus paid the price we should have paid and it's now through faith in Him that we can be set free from that debt, from our sins etc. It's through faith in Him we can have an intimate relationship with God. Thing is.. even though everyone's sins are forgiven, not everyone chooses to accept this forgiveness. Anyone who doesn't have faith in Jesus is basically saying "I want to pay for the debt I owe myself" and ultimately they will face God's wrath. However, anyone who puts their faith in Jesus and believes in Him, will be saved. So the first step to recovery is acknowledging these truths and seeking repentance from your sins. Next is accepting Jesus into your heart and believing what He did for you. From there you spend time with Him through prayer, reading His Word, Bible studies with friends, church etc. You ask God to set you free from any confusion and delusion you may be struggling with and ask Him to show you The Truth.. AND HE WILL. Again, if it doesn't line up with The Bible it's not true. Sometimes.. being set free from these things requires deliverance. Remember that spiritual realm? Well.. we as humans are comprised of three parts.. Spirit (where God resides or doesn't reside), Soul (mind, will and emotions) and Body (your flesh). Before you accept Jesus into your heart your Spirit is dead. You are controlled by your Soul and Body and the demonic influences in this world. When you accept Jesus into your heart your Spirit becomes alive.. in fact.. it becomes IDENTICAL to God's (1 Corinthians 6:17), He actually LIVES in you. That doesn't mean you won't still have spiritual attacks, but it does mean you have the power to overcome them through Jesus. With saying all this, sometimes those demonic forces come and reside in us and that's where deliverance comes in hand. Highly suggest looking up self deliverance by Derek Prince to better explain all this. Just know it's nothing scary and you have victory over the enemy through Jesus. I do not know if in your case deliverance is needed but Derek Prince can clear things up for you in that area. As for the being perfect bit.. not sure if you picked it up yet but no one is perfect. If you have put your faith in Jesus and are actively working
on your relationship with Him.. if you were to die, you would go to Heaven. Understand that there is a difference between habitually sinning and struggling with sin. If you were to say "well Jesus loves me so I can go commit adultery all I want and still go to Heaven" that is habitual sin and you need to heavily question your relationship with God. Struggling with sin is when for example you have a porn addiction but you absolutely HATE IT and are working at overcoming it. Until we die or Jesus comes back again we will all struggle with sin. The difference is whether or not we are doing something about the sin in our lives. I myself have been struggling with these thoughts. I know that gluttony is a sin and yet the fact I am overweight is evidence I am habitually sinning. I've been struggling with "am I really saved" etc. Thing is, we are not saved by what we DO. We are saved by what Jesus DID already. Jesus paid for our past, present and future sins. I am not saying I can continue on living the way I am.. I need to work on it.. but ultimately our works do not save us, they only justify whether or not we truly believe in what Jesus has done for us. I hope this helps! My apologies it's so long and late.

I didn’t figure out my passion or what may bring me the most joy until well into age 27. Looking back on the stress of 18-26, it would have made no sense for me to settle into anything else and I wouldn’t have been ready to settle into what I love back then either. Some of us “bloom” later. Have compassion and patience with yourself, but be proactive.
