Nothing Gonna Stop Us By JuliElmo at S&R Baclaran
it was hot a scorchin’ aftie when we decided to check some goodies at S&R Baclaran Warehouse. Pagpasok palang ng warehouse na-recognize ko kaagad ung voice ni Julie Anne Akala ko nga Enough ung song but when i clearly heard it..it was one of her unreleased single “Glad Its Over” i thought to myself hmm..MAY possibility na addict ung isang staff dito na in-charge sa sound system nila..cause ayun nga kung iba pa sigurong kanta ni julie na released na iisipin ko na lang na nagkataon or radio ung nagpa-play but after that song this song played “Nothing Gonna Stop Us Now” akala ko original version but when the intro played..i know in my heart of hearts ng JE faney(LOL)..i knew sa kanilang version un! pero still nag-isip parin ako baka naman co-incedence padin! haha ok so tapos na un song. ive patiently awaited for the next song this either will confirm or deny na JE Adik ung in-charge sa sound system ng S&R but dang! another song cover ng JE from Party P! pati sigawan ng audience/adiks sa background rinig-rinig (Sa Sobrang gulat at galak ko i freakin’ forgot the title! wahaha #Fail) and my brother gave me the look “what-the-heck-this-are-the-song-you’re-always-playing-inside-my-car-look” i just nod and grin at him like a Cheshire cat! mwahaha Confirm adik nga kung sino mang ate/kuya ang nagpplay ng mga songs ng JE..if i weren’t so busy checking the list that i was going to buy i would prolly look for that person! but ayun nga kumakapal na ung mga conyo’s/foreigners este nagsshopping dun sa loob so i had to get going but still JE song’s in the background! teehee i think i heard “all bout him” too! hahaha
so there you go..kung sino man ung adik na un nagwowork sa S&R Baclaran Warehouse pakilala ka na! at sasabitan kita ng medal! hahaha that is what we called Proud-To-Be-A-JuliElmo-Faney but hey i already did that back in 2012! haha it was summer and i just plug my flash drive sa sound system ng buong resort i was working at and yes all of the songs there are JuliElmo songs almost all from their Party Pilipinas Prod! hahaha i just wish back then that cellphone’s are allowed during my working hours but nope..so ayun waley ako vid/patunay ng kaadikan kong un! wahaha
nanawagan ako Ate/Kuya Lumabas ka na! hahaha gusto kitang makilala! trololol pinasaya mo ang araw ko kahapon! nyahaha XD

Illuminating the Holiday Season in Japan
In Japan, Christmas lights, called “illuminations” (イルミネーション) in Japanese, go up as early as mid-November and can remain on display as late as March. Businesses, main streets and big parks go all-out with spectacular LED reveries and exquisitely decorated Christmas trees for passersby to experience. The illuminations play an important role in creating the festive and romantic mood of winter in Japan and they are more astounding with each passing year.
The Kobe Luminarie (神戸ルミナリエ) in Kobe, Japan, is one of the most striking displays every year. Kobe hosted its first illumination festival in December of 1995 in memory of the Great Hanshin Earthquake which struck the region in January of the same year. The Italian-designed illuminations were donated by the government of Italy, and the soft, solemn glow of the hand-painted lights became a symbol of remembrance and hope. The Kobe Luminarie was originally meant to be a one-time event but, with the strong request from local citizens, it has become an annual event now its 19th year.
Want to see more illuminations? Visit the location pages below to view photos and videos from the best Christmas lights in Japan this year:

Share Your Feast: Tips from Foodie Photographers on Instagram
To whet your appetite with more foodie photos, browse the #onthetable hashtag. Still hungry? Follow @aguynamedpatrick, @sliceofpai, @rubenhughes and @sonyayu on Instagram.
A little over a year and a half ago, San Francisco food and lifestyle photographer Sonya Yu (@sonyayu) shared some of her best advice about how to take beautiful photos of food. We caught up with Sonya and chatted with a few of the top foodies on Instagram to hear their favorite tips.
For all those celebrating Thanksgiving this Thursday, take note of these pointers to score that perfect photo of your holiday spread:
Patrick Janelle (@aguynamedpatrick) “I look for a nice texture as the backdrop to the meal. The plastic table not good enough? Call me crazy, but sometimes I’ll set the dish or drink on the ground for a better backdrop (see: #coffeegrounded). A lot of people like to neatly organize their food on the table before a shot, but I like a more natural look. A fork askew, map of the city, your handbag, phone or keys: each element gives the photo more visual texture and definitely makes it more personal.”
Joann Pai (@sliceofpai) “Good lighting is an integral part of food photography. Soft daylight is best. Depending on the situation, I would even suggest taking your food to a place with good light, then taking a photo.”
Ruben Hughes (@rubenhughes) “When editing, try slightly upping the highlight in your photo which will increase the whiteness of your plates or other ware. Bringing out the color in your photo can help increase the beauty of it. Try adding a bit of warmth or focused saturation to any colorful areas.”
Sonya Yu (@sonyayu) “A great vantage point always makes for a great composition, especially when your extensive spread seems too difficult to fit into a square. Go grab the nearest chair to stand on and don’t be shy—take your photo from up above to capture the entire meal! And of course, don’t forget to save me and @trotterpup a plate!”

Chris Burden’s Suspended Submarines
For more photos and videos from All the Submarines of the United States of America and more works from “Chris Burden: Extreme Measures,” explore the #chrisburden hashtag and visit the New Museum location page.
New York City’s New Museum (@newmuseum) is in the midst of hosting “Chris Burden: Extreme Measures,” a retrospective of the artist’s work that spans more than four decades of installations.
The highlight of the retrospective is a gallery-sized installation of 625 suspended cardboard submarines entitled All the Submarines of the United States of America. A side wall of the gallery also features a list of the names for each of the submarines represented in the exhibition. Taken together, the hanging miniature submarines are reminiscent of a school of fish swimming underwater, and their arrangement has proven irresistible to visiting Instagrammers.
Notably, Burden has refused to give a statement on the political opinion behind the work, leaving visitors to form their own ideas out of the "host of questions and thoughts about security, politics, warfare and history" that the piece raises.
Outside of the works on display, Burden is now perhaps now most popularly known for his Urban Lights installment in front of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (@LACMA).
"Chris Burden: Extreme Measures" and its All the Submarines of the United States of America installation are on display at the New Museum until 12 January, 2014.

#HowIShoot: Photographing Reflections on Water with @mattglastonbury
How I Shoot is a series where we ask Instagrammers to tell us about their photo and video-taking processes. This week, Tasmanian Instagrammer @mattglastonbury shares his tips for taking water reflection shots.
As well as being one of the most prolific InstaMeet organizers on the planet, Tasmanian Instagrammer Matt Glastonbury (@mattglastonbury) is a master of photographing reflections on water. One of Matt’s favorite subjects to shoot with his Nokia Lumia 1020 Windows Phone are the reflections on the surface of the River Derwent near his home, which he catalogs with the #liquidography hashtag. “We have a clear view of the sunset, Mount Wellington and the river from our lounge room window, so when there is a colorful sundown, we usually head down and find some calm waters to shoot from.”
To learn more about how to shoot a great water reflection photo like Matt, read his tips below:
Camera: Nokia Lumia 1020
Step-by-Step:
Tap the screen to lock the focus on the brightest part of your scene so you don’t over-expose the sky.
Use a waterproof case and turn your device upside-down to get the lens as close to the surface as possible
Mind the weather. Calmer days make for the best reflections and sunrise or sunset make for the most colorful scenes.
Use rapid-fire (burst mode) if your handset supports it, then pick out your favorites.
For even more tips on how to shoot with the Nokia Lumia 1020, check out these tutorials.
