And here’s my own contribution to the Pangzi Birthday Exchange 2024, for @scaredysap, who deserves nice things! I hope this counts.
Height gap romance except the shorter one is frequently depicted in situations where they are contextually taller. The taller one sitting while the shorter one looms over them. Both of them lying in bed with the taller one’s head pressed to the shorter one’s chest. The shorter one straddling the taller one’s lap and leaning down for a kiss. The taller one on their knees as the shorter one tilts their head up. Please, it makes me go feral
i learned about Tim Wong who successfully and singlehandedly repopulated the rare California Pipevine Swallowtail butterfly in San Francisco. In the past few years, he’s cultivated more than 200 pipevine plants (their only food source) and gives thousands of caterpillars to his local Botanical Garden (x)
You know, when I see fictional characters who repress all their emotions, they're usually aloof and very blunt about keeping people at a distance, sometimes to an edgy degree—but what I don't see nearly enough are the emotionally repressed characters who are just…mellow.
Think about it. In real life, the person that's bottling up all their emotions is not the one that's brooding in the corner and snaps at you for trying to befriend them. More often than not, it's that friendly person in your circle who makes easy conversation with you, laughs with you, and listens and gives advice whenever you're upset. But you never see them upset, in fact they seem to have endless patience for you and everything around them—and so you call them their friend, you trust them. And only after months of telling them all your secrets do you realize…
…they've never actually told you anything about themselves.
Now that authors have been revealed I can finally post about the fic I wrote for the Pangzi Birthday Exchange 2024!!! I wrote this for the wonderful @lungache <333
Title: mourning soup
Rating: Gen
Characters: Wang Pangzi, Wu Xie, Zhang Qiling
Summary:
The golden coffin water may have cured Wu Xie of his illness, but he's found that other hurts are more difficult to heal. His Pangzi too could use some of that water, to heal the hurts no one can see, the hurts he cannot speak about. They didn't bring any of the water back, of course, but in its absence Pangzi can still make soup. After all, that’s what he always does.
