i'm listening to the shipping forecast (it happens every night on bbc radio 4, basically it's 15 min of coastal weather forecast with a nice theme song) and i think prince george would listen to it every night while he's trying to sleep.

alex would cover his ears and try to drown it out, but while they're broken up he puts it on and wonders if george is out there, somewhere, listening too

anon i owe you my life... i took this to @prettydangrotten this morning and we listened to this shipping forecast together and wow. george would LOVE the structure and the rules -- it would help him calm down and feel grounded in the moment and like empty his head. and then our genius gabby said: he also likes it because wherever he is in the world it’s news from home, the part of the UK that he loves! and prince george talks about the weather with people so much that he really is interested in it - something huge and uncontrollable. it can't be rules, by king nor man!

and then alex - i think he'd be just incredibly fond because it's so nerdy and another grandpa-esque trait but he loves george and he loves his nerdism :( after they brake up, alex does listen to it, but only rarely, and only to one episode at a time (he totally does it on spotify too). in bed, his hand on his stomach, staring at the ceiling, or while he's in the shower or brushing his teeth. walking to work with his headphones on. he never listens to it at night anymore, because the few times he did, he dreamt of george and woke up reaching out to him--
